What's up with it? Does covid cause gout?

There was an increase in the number of people presenting with chilblain like lesions on their toes when covid came along so it was thought there might be a link. It's been called "covid toes" and the theorised mechanism is vascular injury to the small vessels in the toes caused by the virus.

Seems the evidence as to whether it's actually caused by covid or not is very inconclusive.

Yeah, I mean, you could theorise the lack of oxygen leads to your extremities getting knackered. Maybe. But then that would most likely lead to a lot of other shit. Like the fatigue, breathlessness, brain fog, etc.

Every minority/freak in that video will have been the sort of melt banging the door down to get it early (and probably did because of some non-ailment they claim to suffer from). The minorities not getting it are the Batley school mob and stupid old West Indians, and they aren't going to be convinced by brown Lofty getting his peri salt.

How are you feeling now?

And for that matter how are you Ian?

Awful still but not as bad as before. The worst things now are:

Still no sense of smell or taste
Recurring random headaches
Sweats
Inability to give 100% focus, resulting in headache and fever when I do
Brain fog, my decision making is shit and my driving has turned in to middle-aged Peugeot levels
Fatigue
Chest tremors and coughing fits, plus breathing issues

Not sure how much of that is the pneumonia, but the mental stuff definitely wasn't there last time and it's the worst. I feel like I'm operating at 45% all the time and literally can't give any more. Shit when you're most fabulous asset is creative, out the box thinking in sales and now I'm basically Shindig.

After months of criticism about SAGE secrecy, the government reversed course this summer and began releasing the names of SAGE members, minutes of meetings, and some of its policy papers. Still, the government has refused to release to The BMJ the financial interest forms signed by SAGE members, leaving the public in the dark.

https://www.bmj.com/content/371/bmj.m4716

Nothing to see here.

Days later, the Daily Mail broke another story, this time focusing on Bell. On top of his role with the Vaccine Taskforce, Bell also headed the National Covid Testing Scientific Advisory Panel and chaired the government’s new test approvals group. But the Mail discovered something The BMJ had first reported in 20129—that Bell had substantial financial interests, now amounting to £773 000 worth of shares, in pharma company Roche, which had sold the government £13.5m of antibody tests in May. Following the deal, Bell appeared on Channel 4 News and Radio 4’s Today, calling the tests a major step forward. Yet Public Health England found the tests unreliable.

The spokesperson added that the expert advisory group is not involved in commercial decision making, and that those involved must declare their conflicts of interest. The spokesperson did not respond to The BMJ’s request for copies of Bell’s declarations.

Or here.

It's not a clinical need I'm getting at, it's actual science. We do not need to 'force' people to get vaccinated to get out of this. We've done enough already (when you factor in those who've had it as well), more than enough.

That link no longer works but I was wondering about that (the football). Aren't children very much the fly in the ointment for all of this double jab business, I mean if we're not likely to vaccinate them are they going to be broadly excluded from society (perhaps some would say this would be a good idea) or are they going to be allowed to undermine covid security wherever their filthy hands please? On the specific football front, imagine the lasting damage excluding all under 18s from ever attending a game would do to fanbases, although, again, maybe that's part of THE PLAN.

Then it just becomes an illogial/idiotic policy (not some great conspiracy) because you are basically exempting the largest pool of potential carriers from your daft measures (assuming by the end of September the UK is in the high 80s for vaccinated people - you'd assume the 88% first dosers would all turn into twojabfolk). It's paying lip service to the shrill but apparently potent zero covid minority but it just doesn't work. We're going down a similar route on travel here, government has recanted on its open border policy on Friday and said it'll 'sketch out the details' over the weekend/early next week. People are rightly furious. Learn to live with the virus they say, but it's getting to the point where talking a good game isn't enough.

Government is generally conducted by complete morons. I know it is a standard trope to think each iteration more feckless than the last, but we're reaching a nadir across the board. As an example, what the fuck was that "we don't need to isolate/secret daily test regime" bullshit Boris and Sunak rolled out last week? Was their 'chief advisor' (whoever that is) late for work or something? They obviously got in and said hang on you can't be doing this you dingbats . . .

It's probably another thing social media can be blamed for, or Tony Blair, I haven't worked out the exact dynamics.

It's all designed to force the young (that can be vaccinated) into having the vaccines.

I don't agree with it, but I'm pretty sure that's the plan.

If you've had the jab, crack on, if you can't have the jab, crack on, if you can but you haven't, no nightclubs / football.

I'm not entirely sure on the furlough stuff. Are places operating at pre-pandemic staff levels? I find that unlikely given how slow things have been to get done in the last year. Even from our perspective, we'll be staffing the assessment centres back up to see claimants in person.

Well it's clearly flatlined, but they're only lagging behind us and Canada for first doses and then you read this:

More than 162.7 million people - or 49% of the population - have been fully vaccinated in the US, official data shows.

So presumably with the remaining second shots to go they'll be at 60% of everyone (a higher % for just adults), chuck in those that already have immunity from catching the damn thing and they'll in the same boat we are. A boat which should be called "this is now over".

I'm not watching the Yanks as I just assume they're a shitshow at all times anyway. It's a good system.

My cousin is in Chicago with his family and I met him at my Gran's funeral a few weeks ago. He said it's all dependent on where you are. I can't recall the figures, but Chicago was nailing it. He, for example, at 38, had already been double jabbed. He then went on to talk about bible belt type places and said, "well, I'm just glad I don't live in one of those".

So in Chicago at least, if this were to run to its logical conclusion, it'd be almost pointless and piss a lot of people off.

He said health officials were considering revising mask guidance for vaccinated Americans to curb cases.

Labour, after rejecting vaccine passports as unworkable, have seemingly come up with a worse idea:

"We should be encouraging people to get the vaccine as soon as they possibly can, and also encouraging people to take regular tests as well," she says. "Because that is how we keep control of the virus.

"Of course, even with the two vaccines you can still get Covid, so therefore testing has got to be an important part of that scheme."

I say worse, because if you're asking me to test myself regularly having been double jabbed (presumably until COVID's gone), I'll be doing so for the rest of my life.
