Not on my list as when he joined Man Utd, he was born in Brazil but he was an Italian when he turned up at Old Trafford .He later played for Italy Under 21s

Neither did I. I would that thought he was on my list. When he wasn't, I had to double check other sources that revealed the intel.

They also had Julian Doriva, and they had another centre midfielder who was at 2002 World Cup and maybe 2006 as well, but I’m not sure he actually played for Brazil or in fact Middlesbrough, he definitely signed for them though. Any ideas?

Luca Toni surely

Luca Toni surprisingly has only 10 apperances.

A lot of the players mentioned dont qualify for the top 30.

You need a minimum of about 60 appearances to get in.

I think I'm overestimating the amount of appearances one can reasonably get even in a single season of Champions League play and that's what's fucking me up.

Exactly this. Most of the elite teams get out of the group stage every year so that gives first time players a minimum of 6 games. Most elite teams have gone on to win it at some stage though.
