Bayern almost at evens against Barca. -2 at 5. -3 at 10. Merry fucking Christmas

I was going to say, even if they're through it's surely going to be in their interest to send Barcelona out of the competition. I guess the risk is that actual managers don't think like that and any opportunity to rest players is greedily snatched.

Seeing as they can't face them in the last 16 it's probably in Bayern's interest to let Barca through to oppose another of the group winners, almost certainly one of the English sides seeing as they look likely to all win their groups.
Thomas Müller (Bayern Munich): "The Ballon d’Or ceremony yesterday was definitely a disappointment, similar to what happened to Ribéry in 2013. This is also a huge motivation for me to do everything possible to bring the Champions League back to Munich and show the football world what we’re made of. We have an opportunity to do so next Wednesday in the Champions League against Barça."
You love to hear it.

Indeed. Well played that yard.
FOMO though innit.
Don't follow Serie A too closely but price on Atalanta looks mad. Napoli seem decimated, no Koulibaly, no Ruiz, no hope. Always fun to back Atalanta too, never let you down with their heart.

Napoli at 2.25 on Thursday seems mad despite their injuries. We are appalling at the moment and Rodgers European record is poor even when his teams look competent.
I was leaning towards Leicester pending teamsheets.
Bayern train is operating a severely reduced carriage service thanks to a pummelling of the price, behind closed doors and potentially shit team news. Sad.

On Napoli. Think they'll want to hedge their bets in terms of possible Maradona memorial trophies, with the league possibly going west (north).
Teamsheets are to my liking, piled in to Leicester. Lyon with some experimental backline and a strong midfield and attack should lead to goals too.

African Nations
Mali 25/1 look the standout value for me. Afcons tend to draw attention for the famous names like (this time) Salah or Mané, but they are usually won by balanced sides that have more options than just giving the ball to player X. Mali blitzed their World Cup qualification group without conceding a goal, and draw their players from leagues (mainly France) where the event is more built into expectations and there will be no fretting about club duties. They may lack obvious firepower, but often the Afcon is about shitting out 1-0 wins, and Ibrahima Kone (Norwegian league) may well be a dark horse in that department.
If you fancy taking them on with a bigger traditional power, Algeria 6/1 would be my choice - a nice draw, a range of interesting players and have proved a decent unit in recent times.
Top scorer: the aforementioned Kone is available at 40/1, or have a go at 14/1 for Vincent Aboubakar, whose host Cameroon side are at their least shit for a while and should be able to fire a few past Ethiopia plus whoever they get in round 2.
Lovely value all round. Is Bissouma walking straight into the first eleven?
Man said balanced side and then ignores the Kings' (a king led by a king) team.

You're betting on overs at the afcon. Might as well go into a care home and start putting wagers on one of the residents to win Miss Europe.
Can you do some sort of daily pre match info packs from the Afcon games? Betting tips are very welcomed too.

I don't know as much as I would once have done. Today there are four games: Senegal would be heavy favourites over Zimbabwe; Morocco v Ghana I would expect to be quite cagey, Morocco have more goal threat even without Ziyech, but Ghana are quite solid. Would like to see Ilias Chair play for Morocco, but don't know if he will. Guinea v Malawi; the latter are jobbers. Guinea I don't know a lot about but obviously Naby Keita and possibly the teenaged Moriba worth looking out for. Gabon v Comoros... the former still a bit of a one man team and everything goes through Aubameyang. Comoros are a bit of a mystery but they do have a bloke who scores a lot of goals in Serbian football.
Looking at the prices, the only one that tempts me is Comoros might be a fraction long.

I had no idea you could bet on wrestling. Who takes bets on something with a predetermined outcome? Must be rife for insider trading.
I don't understand it either.
Rousey was only on my radar because a well respected Wrestling journalist revealed that the company were pushing to bring her back, win the Rumble and go on to face Becky Lynch at Mania. I'd imagine if I was a bit quicker I could have gotten an even better price on her.
It looks like golf chat just goes in here so I'll say it here: Rory you fucking numpty. 3 wood over the water from 270 when he could have laid up and got it up and down to win.

If Bland wins this I will laugh so hard. Probably gets him in the Masters if he does.
It would be a great story. Be some good odds on him in the playoff if Rory scrapes in here.
Fleetwood just showed Rory how it should have been done. Not laying up was criminal in that scenario. For such a long hitter, he's shit at par 5s.
I know of someone who put a lot of money down on the Rahm/McIlroy double. Must be sick to his stomach.

Pebble: Berger 11/1, Mitchell 80/1
Ras: Brun 50/1, Paul 80/1
Not touching Saudi.

Decided to put some money on the Royal Rumble winners the other day.
£5 on Brock Lesnar to win the Men's @ 6
£5 on Ronda Rousey to win the Women's @ 10.
Seems these both came in. It seems genuinely unbelievable to me that you can bet on something that is scripted. Should have put all your monies on it.
Ras al Khaimah: Rasmus Hojgaard 30/1
I've picked the wrong twin. :moop:
Jimmy Floyd

I followed Nicolai for a few holes at last Wentworth, the kid is special. He might be too skinny to reach the absolute top but the class levels are so high.
I'll take England at even money here.
£2 accumulator needs Watford Burnley draw and a Cameroon win for £560.
And the Cameroon manager doesn’t care. :(
What an absolute bunch of bastards.
Phoenix Open:
Matsuyama 18/1
Henley 40/1
What you saying for Ras Al? Jimmy Floyd
Jimmy Floyd
09-02-2022, 06:28 PM
Phoenix (caveat: I hate Scottsdale): Cantlay 12/1, Matsuyama 16/1 (skybet 8 places, I can't be arsed to find wherever you got 18s), Wise 80/1
Ras: Shinkwin 40/1, Pavon 40/1, Guerrier 60/1
Frogmania running wild.
Sir Andy Mahowry

On them as always, cheers gents.
Betfred. Seems he's be backed in.
I'm half tempted to double down on Rasmus.
Sir Andy Mahowry
13-02-2022, 10:53 PM
Cantlay bottled that putt on the 18th.
Feels like Scheffler will take it from here.
Jimmy Floyd
13-02-2022, 10:54 PM
Hell of a finish, this. Scheffler should have strolled away with it if he wasn't useless on the front nine.
Jimmy Floyd
13-02-2022, 11:07 PM
Thank you Scottie, I guess that's why you haven't won yet.
Playoff between my pick and Ben Coley's pick.

Deki was actually as good a shout tbh, silly man forgot how to putt today.
That's got me right back into it anyway ahead of what may be the best run of tournaments of the year leading into the Masters. Next week's course is my absolute fave. There is a Rahm bulldozer job on its way, just not sure where.
I'm on Scheffler 25/1 for that. He has to win some time.
Nothing to see here.

Early days but for LA I'm pretty sure it's going to be Cam Smith from me.
Sir Andy Mahowry

If so,
Genesis:

Like Bez as a shout, makes sense in my head but not on paper.
Genesis: Cam Smith 18/1, Siwoo Kim 66/1, HV3 90/1
Slow and steady is the order of the day (I hope). Do you like any at three figures?
Jimmy Floyd
15-02-2022, 04:43 PM
Not really in this field. Patrick Rodgers was the closest.
South Korean double for the Honda Classic.
K H Lee 66/1
Sung Kang 200/1

23-02-2022, 11:29 PM
For me: Hughes 45/1, Sigg 100/1, Streb 175/1, Uihlein 250/1
Want someone shorter but the computer only likes Niemann at 16/1 and I can't see him going back to back on opposite coasts.

Went on Skybet earlier to see what Newcastle's current top half odds were (down to 14/1 from the 80/1 I got just fyi) and saw I had two free £10 bets. I chose the top six selections on their 'popular bets' tab and I've just cashed out at £142 (£7 away from max winnings) so I can go to bed. Nae bad
Arnold Palmer: Max Homa 40/1
Just had an absolute nightmare. Tried to put a bet on Lincoln to cover my accumulator and the fucking betslip wouldn't pop up on 365 so didn't get it placed before they just scored. Also accidentally cashed out my 2-1 Newcastle just before Brighton scored in the process.
This is why I don't bet.
Jimmy Floyd

For what, the players?
I will be on Mugilroy most likely.
Yeah. Hoping he excels in the wind and rain.
What are the computers thoughts? :eyemouth:
Scheffler is worth a decent wager now he's finally broken his duck although winning 3 in 4 weeks is Tiger territory. He's an excellent player and was held down purely by not winning. I'll wait until the field is finalised before looking into it but I might get on Im and Hoge as well.
Rory ain't closing out shit until he stops flapping about as soon as he plays one bad hole. A proper caddie would be a good start.
Jimmy Floyd

Bit of a weird one, as if he was English surely he'd be at least fairly close to making the squad and therefore more like a 3/1 shot or so.

Ukraine @3.2 for Eurovision is lay of the century.
Why? Don't politics usually dictate the competition?
-james-
08-03-2022, 03:36 PM
I don't think it does anywhere near to the extent that most people think. More than anything, songs that win or do well just tick the requisite boxes for a good Eurovision entry.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foqgjD_SNss
More than anything that's just not going to tug on any heart strings. It'll be interesting to see how they try and milk it.
Their original entry (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rz6aQLKyBHc) would have stood a chance but she got cancelled after the powers that be noticed a Crimea entry stamp on her passport.

It does look a pretty weak year so far tbf. I don't fancy second favourite Italy at all either. I think the market's just waiting for something decent to appear.

UK's year?
Has anyone ever gone from no points one year to winner the next?
-james-

UK has traded as low as 15 so someone clearly fancies it, but the song is not out yet. This happened last year as well and that was a turd.

Have cooled on Mugilroy.
The PLAYERS (caps vital)
Cantlay 18/1
Berger 25/1
Hoge 110/1
Gone quite large on Cantlay, should be 14s max.
Likewise I've cooled on Scheffler. Fatigue has got to be a thing there.
Im

Hoge

I live for that kind of late withdrawal (usually it happens to my players) because it brings out turbo-seethe from the still extremely immature US online betting community.
Oosty is a great one for it, turns up at the course and thinks actually nah you're alright.
With every passing moment I'm becoming more and more convinced Cantlay will win, so sorry Jim.
Got a little wager on Sam Burns as well before he teed off @ 40.
Until Sunday morning looking at the forecast.

Almost as good as the legendary 2020 THE PLAYERS.
Hoping he excels in the wind and rain.Get playing, softies. :panda:
If your bookie offers non runner no bet (NRNB) then for the Turners Novice Chase (first race on Thursday) these two have multiple entries and may switch to this race to try for a place:
Presentandcounting 125/1
Busselton 100/1
Worth a quid each way or whatever. Money back if they race in the Paddy Power Plate anyway, where they’re 33/1 & 12/1 so obviously not rubbish.
I'll discredit that Bussleton selection. Absolutely bombed at the festival last year.

Not regularly to be honest, maybe 5 or 6 times a season. More so if there is a regional youth tournament.
Chelsea @ 1.33 is absolutely horrendous, especially if Joe and ASM are back. Newcastle @ 10 worth a tenner of anyone’s money.
Jimmy Floyd
12-03-2022, 09:24 AM
I'd say the opposite, we're at home, we're somewhat cornered, and they've done their job now.
You’re rattled so that could go either way. Like I still expect Chelsea to win but even the draw at 5.5 is worth a punt and hardly unlikely.
It’ll be like 4-0 Chelsea now I’ve drawn my line in the sand.
The wind is blowing now and it's absolute scenes, especially on 17. Put a little EW on Harman @ 50 who seems to excel in dodgy conditions.

Had it on for 20 minutes and already watched 4 of the world's top 10 have an absolute nightmare down 18. Americans + wind
With things a bit all over the place odds wise, I've got on scrambling specialists Ancer and Garnett as well. I'm invested in about nine now.
Van Rooyen looking like something out of Peaky Blinders.
Bets are up and down. Hoge looking good, as are Burns and Ancer. Garnett dropping like a stone and Cantlay can't find a green to save his life.

I’ve barley watched any NH racing since the flat season ended so Cheltenham should be fun. Mon the long shots.
PP doing a £5 free bet on any race for the first 3 days
Palace look a tasty bet, especially if the refugee replaces Cancelo.
I’ve too many antepost to list but here are my dailies:

Arkle 14:10 Brave Seasca EW 33/1

£10 win on Bring on the Night money back if it loses with Skybet, then a £6 E/W Lucky 15 on all Cooper's rides tomorrow. Probably do nothing but he has pulled some great wins in for me at big meetings over the years.
Jack Kennedy top jockey @ 7.
No chance.
I’ve got loads of afternoon meetings this week, plus don’t have the house to myself, but hoping I can still watch every race live. I love it all though; the dry comments from Ruby, the fashion segments, interviewing random people, Francesca in the parade ring thing, inject it into my veins. Honestly don’t even care about winning money. Can’t wait to see Honeysuckle and Shishkin again. Shishkin’s last race with Energumene was so fucking good.

How can that not get you horny, fuck me.
No chance.
He'll get two minimum just tomorrow. Put a tenner on and thank me later. He's 8/1 actually, not 7.
Keegan Bradley absolutely steaming through the field to be tied for the lead now. He'd have it almost sewn up by now if not for that two stroke penalty.
