Doing the board a service.
Played a tennis match in 27C or whatever it was. Hard work. Your body tells you 'nah, you don't really want to move, mate'.
Pros playing a 4/5 hour match in the mid-30s, and not having their level dip, is so impressive.

No, I watched Antrim Sligo and Meath Kildare on TV. I'm going to Donegal Tyrone tomorrow.
Bought some crappy £3 water guns, got the paddling pool out and had a water fight with my 8 year old nephew for most of the afternoon. Looking a bit pink now but it was actually decent fun and a way to stay cool.

Took my gran and grandad out for dinner today. Told them they could pick wherever they wanted and they predictably settled on a pseudo Brewers Fayre place run by Marston's. When the change came back on that little dish my grandad tried to give the waitress a fifty pence tip on a fifty three quid bill. 'There you go hen, that's for you.' I swear if I had been a second slower he'd have told her to get herself something from the ice cream van.
It's my birthday today.Happy birthday. :flirt:
I was working yesterday so it was a write-off but managed to get plenty done today - hypnobirthing class, went my mum and dads for a barbecue, came home and cut the grass and just watched Wayne's World 2. Ace!
Can't believe I'm back to work tomorrow though. At least I've a stag do in Chester next Saturday to look forward to. Unfortunately I've got a hungover walk round IKEA pencilled in for the Sunday though.

Tonight i'm either going to see that Baby Driver movie or gonna watch the Orlando City game on ESPN. Tomorrow is a day packed full of football.... our girl's team the Orlando Pride is playing and it's Alex Morgan's first game back.
Watching Alex Morgan and Marta together should be a treat as far as women's football goes  Then apparently our B team is playing in a double header of sorts so I might just hang out at the stadium all night and get drunk as shit. :drink: :drink: :drink:
Given that Tuesday is our Independence Day my work was kind enough to give me Monday off as well so I have a bit of a 4 day weekend coming up that I'm beyond excited for. :drink:

I mean a lot of times they'll have little celebrations here and there. Some cities do parades and things like that.
It all depends where you go. I'd imagine bigger cities have bigger events (obviously).
Also, a very happy 4th birthday to the little one :)
If you do decide to come over by all means hit me up and I'd be glad to try and help sort out events and things for you.

tonight we have our big "derby" match. i put quotations because the MLS is basically forcing it onto us.
Atlanta United's front office bought a billboard:

Right in downtown Orlando.
That night someone from one of the supporter groups got up there, tagged it "FUCK ATL" and it was taken down by the next day:

21-07-2017, 02:07 PM
I mean it's annoying in the sense that they're honestly not that close and we have no real rivalry with them but the League keeps forcing it down our throat at every opportunity.
Then some Atlanta people on twitter made some "This'll be Pulse Part 2!" (the shooting at the gay club) so that got people all pissed off.
They're supposedly bringing a few busloads of folks so it'll be pretty intense I'm sure.
Next weekend I'm getting on a bus to go back up there (we play back to back for some stupid ass reason) so it's pretty exciting. Never done a proper away game before so it'll be good.
bruhnaldo

I'm sure the hot dog sellers of Peachtree Street speak of little else.
To be fair to them, they've sold out their rented 50,000 seater stadium for every game so far from what I understand.
It may not be the most important thing in town but there's still plenty of support.
How are you supposed to maintain a rivalry over about five hundred miles? Our 'rivalry' with Aberdeen is only sustained through their fans singing songs about a stadium collapse and one of their players putting one of our most loved ones out of the game for three years, and that's over a third of the distance.

21-07-2017, 02:12 PM
Oh trust me it's beyond stupid. We're still waiting for Miami to get their MLS team in order cause at least that's just down the road and in the same state.
Atlanta and Orlando have no kinda rivalry in any sport whatsoever. That's why their forced attempts at rivalry are so annoying....
Atlanta fans keep telling us we're not apart of the "The South!" because when we first got "promoted" to MLS the
League started promoting us as the "Soccer Capital of the South" since we were the only team in the Southeast.
But the way they mean it is that we weren't apart of the old confederate States so we're not really "Southern".
It's so fucking corny man.

CUE - baby getting a cold. Last night we painted until 9:30, then sat down for a bit, only for her to wake up at 11 and kick off all night. I had her until 2, then the mrs took over until 6, but little sleep took place. More painting tonight but I am expecting a similar performance soon.

Set off at 9am and got home at 11pm. That includes a stop in the pub for a roast and stopping to get a pizza from a take away. Manchester to my house is 39 miles exactly.
It only took me 14 hours and I saved £4.20. It makes you think, doesn't it? It just goes to show that there are other options!

Went for a couple of drinks after work yesterday, dreadful mistake. Got too giddy and had 4 pints in quick succession on an empty stomach and I was fucking battered. Idiot. Even spilled my pint over a guy I know. Staggered home and apparently I just kept telling my mother "I dunno why I'm so pissed". Had to work this morning, as well.
This afternoon was a big improvement, albeit quite bittersweet. Girl I was seeing this summer got back from her 3 week holiday, and I went round hers for a few hours and shagged her a couple of times and ate frozen pizzas with her and her family, but she fucks off to Milan at 5am for a whole year for some erasmus bullshit. Now you mention it, they were definitely cooked less than I'd like. I prefer my supermarket pizzas cooked to the higher end of the suggested time, essentially almost overcooked but not quite. These were done so the cheese hasn't gone crispy at all. Kept it to myself though, obviously.
Just had a bacon and black pudding sandwich. Was fucking amazing.
Regarding my bird, we've both agreed to just go off and do what (who) we want for the next year or so, and just see where things are when she gets back next May. But she's told me essentially shag whoever I want, come and visit her in Milan at some point, but if I start actually getting serious with someone I have to tell her. In an ideal world I'll just have lots of casual, meaningless sex for the next year then me and the girl will live happily ever after, but, i dunno....I just have a feeling that it isn't going to end well

My illiterate twenty year old cousin has three kids (twins and another) with his eighteen year old bird, who, as a result of being really fat and then having three kids with barely any breathing space between them, now has spinal problems due to losing what little core rigidity she might once have had. What a life.
My sister is fucked up anyway. Jehovah family (I'm one of my dad's 4, 3 marriages) meant that her first proper relationship meant marriage before she could do the deed. Meant a 20 year old kid marrying another 20 year old kid and inevitably the marriage breaking down within a year or so. Her mum is a pretty powerful character (combination of a normal mum with super power Jehovah reasoning) and sister's probably rebelled towards some little twat who thinks he's the dogs.
My older sister was a similar tale of woes with men and her life (broken family, basically being bounced around the three marriages) making her get with some godawful men. The bloke who fathered her child has been to prison and is a proper rat. He's fucked off thankfully and she's with someone who's a decent bloke. I don't know how my dad manages to cope (maybe he shouldn't have married everything).
