Belgium have released their Euro 2016 away shirt modelled on the Belgium cycling jersey. I think it looks great, but Marc Wilmots isn't happy :D

The NI supoorters have started a petition to have their home one redesigned.

I'm really liking that reversible kit too. It would be pretty much ideal for an amateur team to have as even though you can check the the colours of your opponent from the leagues page, they aren't always accurate which sometimes leads to unnecessary trouble. I've actually got a white/gold United replica as a birthday present in 2002, but that was way too thick to actually use for football. I'm assuming this wouldn't be the case anymore.

Spoonsky
12-11-2015, 09:14 PM
Germany home and Belgium are the best ones there. The reversible isn't a bad idea, it's just a bad-looking kit imo.

That Spain kit is probably the culmination of their descent into shitness.

Presumably that Danish kit is also reversible, since the rest of the design is identical to the German one.

What's going on with Schurrle's cheekbones there? He looks like Rocky Dennis.

Oh cool! Ya I got season tickets starting last year when they moved up to MLS. Lot of fun to go to the games. The fans are kinda interesting to say the least. A mix of try-hards and posers for the most part if I'm being honest (i sit in the "supporters stand" where the "ultras" (for lack of better term) congregate) but if you can get around that it's really great. They're going to open up a brand new stadium next year as well.

As far as Orlando B, this'll be the first year for them. They'll actually end up playing probably an hour east of Orlando but I'd like to get out there and catch a game or two to support.

Who knows, Orlando City just released their main keeper from last year and generally have inexperience on the roster. Would be cool if your mate got called up haha.

Yeah it's definitely a cool career move. He's been bumbling around the spl / first division for a few years and was the Scotland under 21 keeper for a few years so he's got a bit of game about him. Suspect his agent fancied his chances of getting a nod in the first team after down the line.

ya in fairness i don't really know much about our current crop of keepers. i think the projected starter has some MLS experience but nothing extravagant. i know they were saying him and the college keeper they drafted last year would be in competition so your buddy has as good a shot as any I'd imagine.

what's his name ,if you don't mind me asking, would like to keep an eye out for him.

Yea they have some weird relationship i forget. I don't know if they're (the Pulis') good friends with Adrian Heath (a team manager) or what but West Brom came over and did a preseason game against Orlando last year as well.

He's a fraud. Honestly expect a few people who post on here are better footballers than him. Worst person ever to pull on a Saints shirt and that includes Alli Dia. Fair play to Tony Pulis though, got him a few decent pay days.

Kit design doesn't really exist anymore, does it? Nike and Adidas both just create simple templates and roll it out in different colours.

Bring back the early 90's, I say.

The Merse
15-03-2016, 08:51 AM
Macron getting bigger might change things up - since landing the SRU contract they've given Glasgow and Edinburgh some cracking designs with unique touches around heritage and make up of the club/cities. Their latest Scotland shirt was a fan design competition too. Very 90's touch, that.

Perhaps though if they grow (as they're looking to do with some bi contracts signed in the last month) they'll also lose touch with that personalisation.

Toby
15-03-2016, 09:44 AM
Adidas and Nike have always just done templates with slight tweaking. Look at your own first post in this thread for an example of that.

John Arne

Toby
15-03-2016, 12:52 PM
There were definitely more distinct designs, but it's just because there was a greater variety of manufacturers rather than any change in approach from the big ones.

Here's the full set of kits from Euro 96:

http://i1227.photobucket.com/albums/ee437/freddiept/Euro1996Kits.jpg

I think that's 9 different manufacturers, so only Adidas appear more than twice. The likes of Umbro did seem to have very different designs for each team - maybe why they didn't make much money - while Puma look surprisingly lazy.

I still subconsciously judge European national teams based whether or not they made Euro 96. In my mind, Sweden are upstart impostors for example, but Romania's rightful place is qualification for every tournament.

I do exactly the same, I suppose it was my real watershed moment for international football as USA 94 being subject to time zone issues and Scotland and England not making it meaning that it wasn't such a big event and 92 was just a little too early.

Edit- also, see mid nineties Champions League - I think of Ferencvaros in 'big club' terms.

Love that 96 England kit. You can always rely on Croatia as well.

Kits were definitely more interesting back in the 90s, early 2000s. The worst case nowadays for identikit designs are Football League teams - e.g. our Nike kit being exactly the same as you can buy for your Sunday league team.

World Cup 86 was vaguely similar but it didn't have the button. After that it was all flappy collars for about a decade.

Old post but I've always noticed in Italy, about 85% of clubs in Serie B and below seem to be red/blue, whereas over here it's only Crystal Palace and Hampton & Richmond that I can think of.

Our sponsor is a local hospital so I'm a big fan. Rather it be that than something random af. Plus, I like when they somewhat try to integrate the sponsor into the kit. As opposed to United's having this random chevy logo on the front, at least they made the logo to where it seemingly just matches the shirt.

https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-70olbuhNL1M/WKc2XPuXYnI/AAAAAAABHgA/FIda1t9SM7U35yeqPEQvwr4V2pMRk2X0QCLcB/s1600/orlando-city-2017-kit.%2B%25283%2529.JPG

I think Philadelphia literally has "BIMBO" on the front of theirs. (It's a bread company). This is a perfect example of the logo "not matching". I think a lot of kits would look 100x better if the company sponsoring would allow the team to make the company's logo in club colors. (edit: or at least a neutral set of colors like ours)

One of the first teams I played for, played in this classic....

I love a throwback kit, these are all ace. Scotland and Northern Ireland have old school kits too, hopefully Nike don't just put out the same template for everyone again but with a random sock colour or ooh, pastel sleeves.

How can kit designers be so bad. Villa (with similar colours) had pretty good kits around the turn of the century:

Has anyone here got any experience with SoccerTriads (https://www.soccertriads.net/liverpool-2017-18-football-jersey-shirt-home-red.html)? Mainly are they decent quality and how long does the free delivery take?

Or can anyone suggest a similar place for snide shirts?

http://www.shootjerseys.cc/ or chance one of the sellers on DHGate.Aha! Just ordered from DHGate before I saw your post. Reviews (https://www.dhgate.com/store/product/2018-new-coutinho-home-red-soccer-jersey/401608096.html) seem positive so for the £12 delivered or whatever it's cost (it's cheaper on the app), it's worth a gamble. Went with Firmino on the back. I don't think it'll be here in time for when I want it on the 20th January but ah well.

I'll let everyone know when it comes.

Nigeria traditionally do better the more stupid their kit is, so they should win the cup with that.

Sky Sports are saying the same actually. I hope it's true, as much as I like that dark green one football kits should be as mental as possible.

Got the new Liverpool shirt yesterday. Much prefer the previous one. I thought we'd be sticking with that darker red from now on. Ah well, I'm sure it'll grow on me.

Thankfully we have to wear the "old" one in the final, despite being able to wear the new one in the last league game against Brighton.
