I'm not sure I like our new kits this season. We've gone from sexy as fuck home kit, to some collar abomination.

When did the stripes go?

Our new Hummel kits were unveiled yesterday, featuring both an orange third kit and an away kit with a sash on it. They've essentially just done a copy and paste job on the Diadora designs from 2002 but fuck me, we'll sell a billion of them.

I got the full West Brom 09-10 kit at the end of that season. Well, shirt and shorts. It was reduced to about 20 quid for both, was a season where we didn't have a shirt sponsor and I needed something to play footy in. Still wear it at 5-a-side, and still in pretty decent condition except a cigarette burn on the shorts.

For 5-a-side the shirt's on rotation with this beauty I've owned since 2004 (I was a fat child):

bruhnaldo

I have this thing where I'm afraid to put names on my shirts because I always doom the player.

Examples:

Manchester United -

Rafael-2 bought after he was "the best fuckin right back in England!" when Utd won the league, basically made 5 more appearances and fucked off to France.

Memphis-7 bought it before he played a match. We all know how that went.

Smalling-12 was doing pretty well under LvG, signed a new contract, bought his shirt, now he's barely an afterthought at United

Orlando City -

Rivas-11 long story short was supposed to be our big international signing, got his shirt, literally traded to New York Red Bulls two weeks later.

--

Anyways, that being said, now that World Clashley Young has been named in the Best XI for the World Cup I'm confident there's nothing I can do to harm him and I've bought the new United kit with that sweet, sweet YOUNG18 printing

Praying the pink 3rd kit doesn't come with red font. Pink with white "Cup printing", CL badges, POGBA6 baby. (He's won the World Cup what else could he want).

I've never had a shirt with a name on it outside of a gift I was bought of a Corinthians shirt with Ronaldo 9 (the real one) on the back.

Bruh saying he had a shirt of Chris Smalling is like an even shitter version of when I signed up to the Junior Gunners which got you a signed photo of any of the invincibles and I chose Kanu. Even if you're going for cult hero of the era you go Ljungberg before Kanu. Smalling?

bruhnaldo
17-07-2018, 06:50 PM
Smalling was donning it at the time if i recall in my defense but ya certainly a poor choice.

I never had them on a shirt but I went to a game at Stamford Bridge once and we were sitting by the dugout. Just behind the dugout was Luke Chadwick and Michael Stewart sitting in the stands because they hadn't gotten a place on the bench.

I had to get a friend to go to them as I was too nervous to ask for their signatures.

I had the 1994-96 home shirt, the infamous invisible one with COLE 17 on the back, the 1996-98 home one, that funky green and yellow 1997/98 'keeper jumper (do goalie shirts still have padded elbows?), and then - after a gap of a few years - the last one I had was that nifty blue third kit from 2002/03 with KEANE 16 on it.

The best shirt I've ever seen was a Spurs shirt in 1997.

The last real (I have a few fake ones that always come with names) ine I got with a name was van Nistelrooy possibly around 2003 (when United had black away shirts). How do you all feel about wearing shirts that aren't specifically your team?

This was blasphemous for me for the longest time but some folks I go to matches with now participate in this bit where you send $25 and they'll send you a random football kit from around the world.

Long story short, I'm starting to wonder if I'm being a little over-zealous with my outright refusal to even consider other clubs shirts (certainly not Prem teams, I couldn't go that far) but like for example Roma has put out some pretty nice kits and I don't know that I wouldn't mind a cheeky Nainggollan or something to that effect from DHGate if their knockoffs are pretty spot on.

That, or maybe international shirts as I've mentioned before, to highlight players that I like but maybe play on teams I hate, like a Hazard Beligum shirt (those red ones with the diamonds looked top for example).

I ordered two shirts from two different people on the same day and received one four days later and the other after three weeks. I’ve always had responses from sellers so they seem good in that front.

If it's not the same league, it's not a problem.

I’ve just picked up several from Classic Football Shirts to play in - an old Norwich one, an old Liverpool goalkeeper top, a white Italy one from a few years ago and a Catania one - and the lads have laughed at me a bit for it, but realistically I paid about £25 for four shirts and it keeps my Newcastle ones clean and stuff.

Long story short - get amongst it.

Sorry for all the questions. Given my penchant for ruining footballers lives and then having a $100 piece of cloth sitting in my closet never to be used again I've given thought to just buying the DHGate international shirts w/ players I like on the back.

I find them to be really good quality, not the player quality that is being banded about for silly money but good enough. Just dont chuck them in the dryer. We might have talked about it I dont remember.

It generally takes about 2/3 week unless something weird happens. Which hasn't happened to me, only my mate.

I typically buy shirt from this seller (sans affiliate link) (https://www.dhgate.com/store/20711299) and they have come out well every time.

Mate of mine just got the new purple Liverpool kit from DH Gate. He's bringing it into work to show me but says you can't tell the difference. His only complaint is he got a shirt printing and it came with Virgi and 4 on the back. They missed the "L" but for £13 he's not too unhappy.

I'm trying to find the 17/18 home kit as I dislike the new collar, but it seems to have gone from all shops now. Besides trying DH Gate myself, which are the better of the online ones to find it in?

Missing the L. :D

Yeah I bought me one from DH Gate and my daughter one from Sports Direct, both printed. Not gonna lie hers does seem better quality but for the price difference it is understandable. Mines a bit too light in colour too, I think. Hers is more like the red from last year whereas mine is a brighter red.

It's an excuse to sell more kits than they could ever hope to sell with a regular design and get some publicity, and it's working a treat. There has been a big Bob Marley/Phil Lynott mural outside the ground for years too.

They've owned the rights to the 3 stripes in Ireland way before Adidas did. If you buy one of the jerseys for sending outside the country or Northern Ireland it'll only have two.

EDIT: Bit more to it actually, but it has been before the Supreme Court in the 1980's.

Arsenal looks good, the blue on the Villa shirt is too light but otherwise fine, Brighton's is mega, Chelsea eueuhrgrrghh, Leicester is mint, Newcastle just atrocious, kinda like the graded Norwich kit as it's a bit less garish than usual, really like West Ham's throwback kit.

All the sponsors though are doing their best to make these kits look abysmal though.

Arsenal I'd the best one. West Ham is an abomination.

Lol at the companies sponsoring the sport nowadays.

Evertons shirt looks like it belongs on a bus seat.

Arsenal, Leicester and Brighton for the best home shirts this season.

Newcastle and Southampton's look like unlicensed fan-made shit dreamt up by a hyperactive teenager. Arsenal's is great, Norwich's is nice and so is Chelsea's.

Chelsea's has a certain demographic in fairness.

I went to Bedale a few months back.

Wish I'd have known about those hotdog kits then; might have sought one out.

Keeper kit is outstanding.

That's led me to this, which has some outstanding efforts on it. The Colorado one :D

Have Nike managed to make a bad Inter kit? (On the previous page. Lukaku's tweet yesterday made me notice it again).

Considering what they have to work with, that's a poor effort.

What's the grey one, bottom left? Is that one of the Turkish teams. That's super nice anyway.

I was doing my yearly look through kits to find what I want to wear for FIFA20 ultimate team and there's honestly a ton of really sharp looking kits this season

You know these lesser known sides would do well designing some sweet kits for worldwide exposure tbh.
