Played 9 games of squad battles last night and got up to Gold 1, if I can fit the games in I should make Elite 1 fairly comfortably.

Having heard Legendary difficulty was rock hard I started on Professional (which was no harder than last year) and quickly moved up to World Class, which also doesn't seem too bad. Is Legendary really that difficult?

POTM Calvert-Lewin has been announced and is available now. You need an 83 rated squad with 1 TOTW, and an 84 rated squad with 1 Prem player. Bit excessive compared to the requirements for Pukki last year, but he does have some cracking stats this early in the game.

Edit: and 87 Busquets is 10k..... when Icon SBCs come out he is going to skyrocket.

Last year 87 Thiago (figured it was a good comparison) went from around 12k to 20k in the first couple of weeks.

I also won two of my rivals matches so got 64k for that and it put me in division 4. The problem was I used my on loan Zidane, Mbappe, Haaland and TAA. They've all now left so I'm probably gonna get bummed for a while.

Just got smashed 10-1 in a Rivals game.

He was able to press me constantly with no stamina reduction (I went to a high press at around 5-1 and stamina drained to fuck) and my keeper refused to make a save.

Most surprising player for me so far is Vinicius, the guy at Spurs. He’s literally always in the right place at the right time and his left foot is lethal. Consistently my best player even when I was using Haaland and Mbappe up front with him.

He's played in both of their matches so far this season.

He was on the bench for the first but played the full 90 minutes in their last game.

In their first game they played their usual 4-3-3 (which he doesn't really have a chance to get into the side as Mertens > *) but in the second game according to Soccerway they tried a 4-2-3-1 with Osimhen up front and Mertens just behind him.

For 80m Euros you'd imagine they incorporate him as much as possible, likely using the formation from the second match.

Yeah, the AI team I played was an 85 with 73 chem and I was doing alright. I didn't check the squad though and there was a Prime R9 on the bench who swung the game, it was only 1-0 before he came on.

Right now I would just worry about objectives, getting the free early shit and putting together a decent team you can use.

There was a bit of a spike today (as Raoul mentioned with Busquets) as things are up a little cause of Fati. You could do some volume trading picking up cards like Busquets, Saul, Koke on open bid and flip them. Just make sure you account for the 5% tax.

Doing the New Alliegence objectives I see that it's using Swaps rules. Now I'd rather it was just football, but whatever. I then lose Eric Cantona in the swap, and I'm ok with that, shit happens. But I then end up with Canales and Coquelin up front and I can't move them and put the players I do still have in my team (that can actually move) back up front.

Finished off the New Allegiance friendly objectives and packed an 84 Corona in the reward pack. Spent a little to finish off the Hybrid Nations SBCs and packed IF Niane, Sirigu and a fair few 82 rated cards.

I've played a few Rivals games to work on Jota, and Mitrovic has been an absolute wrecking ball up top. He scored all 5 in a 5-4 win, including the winning 90th minute penalty. Absolute hero.

There's an objective that requires silver players. Luckily I built a good cheap silver team the other day. Might be worth putting together a bronze one, just in case something comes up in the future.

Same problem as you. On attack I'm against a brick wall and on defence my opponents walk through me like I'm not even there. Incredibly frustrating.

Picked this up after not having bothered at all with last year's version.

Passing seems nice and I can hold the ball up well but I struggle to create chances (are long shots useless?)

Also is there a way to body check/muscle someone off the ball? Whilst defending I constantly get into situations where my CB is side by side with the striker but they seem to slide past no matter how physical the striker is.

Packed Havertz and Adama from my first Rivals megapack which puts me close to 150k coins already. Might just save up and put them towards an icon I want/will use all year, a lot of players seem massively overpriced atm.

I put on a youtube video (for something to watch), went into rivals games and let my opponent score and quit immediately afterwards. You lose about 30 ranking points each time. I did it about 10 times.

You don't need to let your opponent score, you can just quit as soon as the game kicks off, but they don't get the win if you do that. Also, don't score own goals to give your opponent the win. EA are not fans apparently.

Also going to buy big bulk on players like Pizzi, Oyarzabal, Grimaldo. I feel like wide players and CBs do well during SBC's and those guys are under 3k at 84 rated

What they’ve done with Rival points from Weekend League is odd. It’s a problem I didn’t think needed fixing and makes it hard to know where I’ll end up. I’m comfortably in rank (div 3) right now, on 15500 but out of games due to weekend league games now counting against rivals, so I’ve no games to play once I’ve finished WL. Given rivals restarts on Thursdays it makes it tough to finish well in both competitions, unless you can get 20 rivals games in before the weekend..

8-5 this weekend which I’m happy with given I’ve got a broken RB button stopping me finessing, pressing or low crossing :moop:
