Managed to finish Benedetto by about 2pm, and then got McGeady done in an hour too. Somehow caught up on all the objectives but I do feel drained - that's about 100-120 online games of FIFA in 5 days. I'm one win away from being able to redeem WL this weekend, but I'm not sure if I have the energy to do so.

But with Icon Swaps not being out yet.... I might just take the leap and aim for 11 wins.

FUT Birthday team looks so dull. Stats on some cards are good but nothing really exciting. Podolski and Huntelaar are nice throwbacks though. I've got 100 packs to run through so I may do a few now whilst working on more league SBCs.

I finished the Prem SBC a little earlier and my Ultimate was tragic as per usual (I don't think I've ever had something good from a set reward) with IF Dest being my best.

It also gave me a handful of 83 dupes and an 84 which I don't want to put in the PP as it's a waste but there's nothing in the SBCs for me.

Ozil is a twat, Palacio is meh, Machis is pointless, Sven is meh and Podolski is useless now that I have Hwang. Plus Messi is a dick and Mbappe isn't a ST.

I think I'll save the dupes and just rip as many PP's tomorrow.

Only managed to be 4-0 going into Sunday. Because work has now decided to take advantage of the 5 of 7 part of our contract, it means a rota which included mandatory weekends in places. It just so happened that March saw all of mine hit at once so I’ve worked at least 1 weekend day every week this month. This being the hardest as we’ve gone from 5 lates running, Saturday off and then back Sunday for 5 earlies running.

Still I had a small window last night and played on. It was going great too. I got up to 9-0 and really should have been 10. I was 4-2 up around the 70th and he brought on Birthday Inaki Williams. He is a real handful for my defenders. He got one off a corner then in the last minute I bit on a 1-2 to give him an easy finish. He then scored almost immediately in extra time. I managed to push and in the 122nd I got the least deserved equaliser. A very tame off balance shot from Felix was saved by Oblak but someone he pushed it right to El Shaarawy for a tap in. I even did the apology celebration. I was then even 2 pens up on the guy and I still lost. Nightmare.

Then as is the way, 1 loss quickly became 9-3. My play had become lazy and obvious and I was suffering from the 4am start. Still the next game was an easy win and the last one gave my my first TOTY Ronaldo experience. My solution was to foul the fucker any time he got the ball and it worked well, but then he scored 2 corners. A late switch to a pressure tactic saw 2-1 to him become 3-2 to me and I finish at 11-3.

Thankfully next weekend and the one after I have 3 days off on the run.

Been working my way through the packs I had saved and I've managed to pack about 8 or 9 IFs so far, helping me massively with the various SBCs that I want to do. Lots of good fodder from the Player Picks as well, and I packed my first FUT Birthday, although it was only Hwang.

So far I've done both Bender brothers and Chicharito, and I've made a start on Podolski and Ozil. 3 more Ultimate Packs to open, but the big packs have so far been utterly terrible for me, so I don't hold too much hope.

3-0 down in Rivals so I started moving my keeper so he could score freely but he would not stop defending for his life.

Got round to using a draft token I’d got from a reward pack. Ended up with a 5-3-2 and full sweat team with TOTY Mbappe up front. Good lord he is so good.

Breezed through the first 3 rounds winning by 5 goals at least in each. The final was a hell of a game though. My opponent had TOTY Mbappe and IF Neymar along with TOTY VVD. He was very good at dribbling but his defending wasn’t the best.

He went 2-0 up quickly. I plugged away until it was 2-2. Managed to nick a goal for 3-2 in the 82nd. I would find myself level again without touching the ball. I scored once more in the 88th only for him to do it again. The reverse happened in extra time. However I had switched to a constant pressure everyone attacking mode to get said equaliser. I had one more chance to get a ball in, in the 119th but his clearance was a perfect counter attack and I lost. Best game of fifa I’ve had in a while I think. Both teams only after goals. Sod all in the packs too unfortunately.

Not really sure I’ll have time to do Huntelaar from here. I’d love to get the Rank 1 rewards for div 1 which are ultimate packs, but that means some serious rivals grinding tomorrow...

Not one single sodding walkout from all of my packs, including 2 ultimates. Quite irritating. I did get a few 85s and 84s though so it wasn't a complete disaster. Churned the shite back through the 81+ picks and got about 10 of them. The first 5 or so were all 82/81 and I was feeling very demoralised. But in came The Woj at 87 and Parejo. Just about had enough for one last pick and it turned out Casemiro which turns okay set into good.

Attention now turns to swaps. I think I'm giving Huntelaar a miss. I just don't see me ever using him beyond a sentimental appearance from the bench.

In my Rivals binge last night I didn't realise I'd got to 14/15 on the swaps token for goals. So doubling up the Battles tokens would give me enough for the 83+ x 25 pack. The other 3 I need should be reasonably easy done. I'm hoping there's a leak of Team 2 before Team 1 goes out of packs. The idea would be to chance the big pull but hope for good FODA towards hopefully Sanches.

I'm expecting Sanches to cost near 1m. He's going to be 88/89 rated and broken as hell. On top of that because of the promo he'll have a 5* WF or skill moves. I think he'll end up having both. If they do make him stupidly pricey then there's Vidal, who I could do now. Coin total is 300k and I'm nearing the cost of affording Neymar which has been a long term ambition, but beyond that there's not much to do with it.

I was talking to Thommo about this before. His 84 card is still 440k/350k. Depending on his rating we'll get about the price. An 87 rated card(which I think is more likely) will likely be in the 600-800k range. Let's not forget he will also have 5* something. I think both. EA also know we are all waiting.

An 89/90 rated version of the card is going to come in at 1m+. He is meta everything. They know we want him and add the 5* on top, you'll have a hard time affording him.

Finished Huntelaar and the Brasilvers off yesterday, and quickly played 8 games of Rivals late last night to get up to 2000 WL points and redeem just in time for this weekend. With the house being empty this weekend, I may have both the bandwidth to do a WL stream, and the time to finish all 30 games for the first time this year so far!

Over the week I opened a shedload of packs and picks and was able to finish Podolski, Ozil and Vidal, with a lot of fodder still sitting in the club. I'm ready to complete an Icon or 2, as I don't think Sanches is going to be worth it for me, considering my CM options. I'm genuinely struggling to work out my best team with all the top cards earned recently.

The downside to that Aouar pull, if there is one, is I don't know how on Earth to fit him in. Though the fodder in that pack allowed me to do Ozil for free. I keep getting Parejo in picks too, so I'm forever holding a dupe. I did a player pick with the Ozil packs and it churned out a Bruno too.

There's probably 250k or so of fodder in that pack. I was hoping to get a birthday card, but if I did I was expecting it to be that German left back(who looks very good to me). I should have the 82 x 25 pack ready for tomorrow but I'm not expecting a walkout there. I am expecting a lot of dupes.

From here the plan is to do one of the SBCs. If I'm lucky 2. The shopping list has Vidal and Reus on it. Though I've no idea how I'd make that work either.

One of my worst Saturday's for WL.

I didn't play yesterday and went 5-5 today. I'm so tired though and if it wasn't for swaps I'd have sacked it off this weekend.

Lost twice when 2-0 up and in one match I was losing 3-0, came back to lead 4-3 only to chuck it away in the last 5 minute and lose 5-4.

Only game I had no chance of winning was against a guy who tore me to shreds with 98 Pele. I scored from kick off and he made it 5-1 just before half-time so I walked.

I’ve struggled today. Went from 4-1 yesterday to 4-7 today and now just back to break even. Lots of difficult opponents using 41212 narrow and killing the spaces I normally play in whilst also covering the crosses I resort to. Still I’ve just had a few grand games to raise spirits, came from 4-1 down to win 7-4, then a rage quit at 9-1 up, and another at 5-0.

Just been working on big Steve Mandanda this morning, and I got down to the last couple of games where I just needed to score. I ended up getting matched up against someone who was very very angry that I dared to play the whole game out in search of my goal....

BUT Marc-Andre ter Stegen bundled in a rebound for me in the 82nd minute, and I made sure we watched the full 'big man' dance celebration, and the floodgates opened. I don't think I've celebrated that much for a goal before - I had an obnoxious shit-eating grin on my face as the message notifications kept popping up.

Early impressions of Sanches are good. Coming from Jones in the same role there is an adjustment period. Jones long limbs tend to poke out to stop interceptions but Sanches is a lot more mobile. I've noticed the latter also seems to like to get forwards more. And pretty much anywhere on the pitch to be honest. He's full speed all over it all the time.

He is smaller but his balance is perfect. He's also fast enough to not need a Shadow inst-applied. Your chem style should represent what you want him for. I'm thinking of going full Sentinel or Powerhouse.

Went into the night session sitting at 6-1. The opening stint was surprisingly tough. Those first 5 games or so are usually a breeze.

I started off the night immediately matched up with a low chemistry bronze team. He allowed me to score and then quit. What a guy. I then went 1-0 up early in the next game and he quit too.

However the next game was just sheer frustration. He played 5-2-1-2 but there were just no gaps to get into. Eventually I got caught by a goal and we then played out a very crap 1-0 loss for me. The only game of the weekend I failed to score in.

However from there the charge was on. I won every game from then on, including coming back from 2-0 down at half time in 2 separate games. In both I took CR7 off for Aouar and it seemed to make things click. So I end on a very happy 14-2. For once I didn’t bog down near a milestone.

Stayed up just long enough to claim Battles rewards. Ended up packing Birthday Gunter who if you’ve been following I’ve been putting into some mock squads for if I did Reus. Is the game giving me a sign? Or do I sell him and do Vidal :p

I was able to play a fair bit more this weekend, and push for the 15 wins needed for the Swaps token in one go. This was the team I used, switching to 4-2-3-1 in game with SMS and Vidal as the holding midfielders. I brought on Neymar, Tav and Podolski most commonly as substitutes and all were fairly impactful from the bench.

I ended up going 15-9, a fairly successful weekend. I could have maybe pushed to 17 wins but it was beyond 4am at that point and I didn't fancy a long slog if I lost a couple. Dybala managed 25 goals and 21 assists - he's still utterly phenomenal working behind the lone striker.

One game sticks out as a really satisfying win. I was 4-1 down with about half an hour to go and brought on Podolski and Neymar. Podolski instantly pulled one back with a really sweet finish, before Neymar stole the show - firstly the following rainbow flick into volley:

I could likely get Vidal in on 10 somewhere, but it would likely mean dropping Messi. I don't mind dropping Felix at this point. He's getting to that point where, still good, the power curve is coming to get him. From this point I don't mind if Messi has to play on 7 or 8 chem. From checking FUTBIN all it really does is knock his sprint speed down by 2 or 3 points. So if anyone else fancies any doing better feel free as I'm not the best at this.

Was playing for Walace and I've played about 5 games (most were rage quits).

Was 3-0 up in one game though, he scores a bullshit goal to bring it back to 3-1 and suddenly momentum is firmly in his favour and he gets another two soon after. Goes to ET and it's cagey largely as most of the 22 players are fucked for stamina but Marcos Andre scores for me in the 119th minute.

I back out to check my progress thinking I only needed 1 more win and the progress is at 0.

Rewards day was very interesting for once. I've mentioned wanting Vidal and was sat on some decent fodder so I went into it just needing a bit more. I'd grinded some rivals to earn the Rank 1 Div 1 rewards.

Started with reds and it was the usual meh. Ings with Fountas. Then came the packs. Nothing... an 84... then in the rare players pack contained nothing, not even a board. Annoyed I'd got nothing to bump the coin total I went into the Rivals packs. Nothing in the first mega., but then IF Pavard in the 2nd. Then came Ultimate pack 1. I got KDB and Hazard along with two 85s. Great for fodder. Then onto pack 2, also a walkout but it was Suarez. However this was the 'Dortmund pack' as it contained Haaland, Guerreiro, Burki and Witsel.

I then went in and sent all the >81 crap into upgrades. Donnarumma, Marquinhos, Skriniar along with a few more 84s were great to see. Submitted the top part of Vidal. Salah has been sacrificed, but he didn't even make the squad page now so on we go. Out of that pack was a tradeable Hazard. Then went to the mid part of Vidal and chucked all of those sweet 85s in along with Pavard. That pack came back with a tradeable Ederson.
At this point I realised all the dortmund boys would essentially complete the first part of Reus by themselves. So I went to his 87 squad and thanks to the generous chemistry requirement, I got KDB and Hazard in there along with some objective cards. The pack luck left at this point, but we had 2/3 done on both Vidal and Reus. Went to the trade pile and grabbed the IF Soyuncu and that Ederson back and finished Reus. From there I had nothing really left and the 82-88 packs stopped helping so I had to buy the 84 squad for Vidal from coins. Other than that I had to buy 1 Trent for another squad somewhere to help chemistry.

I started with just shy of 360k and now have bang on 300k left. I have no fodder to speak of and need a goalkeeper now but I think that's a job well done.

Having bought Dest to give Messi in the 'top' team I sold him as I figured, while being better, that he is not a 400k upgrade on Emerson when the strong link doesnt get Messi on full chem anyway.


I ran this with Dest over Emerson yesterday in some Rivals and it felt pretty good. Casemiro could come in with no Chem hit but I am not sure how much of an improvement he would be.

Just started on the Bundesliga swap token. Whoever came up with the outside of the box objective needs a bullet in his/her head.

Second game and the guy is being sweaty as fuck as he's desperate to stop me from scoring outside the box. He goes 3-0 up but his stamina is fucked because he was on constant pressure throughout the game. He's also not as good as me but he's been lucky and I've passed up on shots in the box.

I make it 3-1 with a Forsberg outside the box and from there I know I have him. I make it 3-2 and from kick off he takes it to the corner flag (65 minutes in or so), as such I whack it on constant pressure and get a third soon after. In the 82nd minute I make it 4-3 and he walks.
