Hadn't touched WL so hopped on this morning. Did not intend it to be an almost all in one session but so it was. Did the first 4 games/wins with Team Germany. As stated there is no need to play on for that shit Thuram card. I'm sure I'll get a better French striker soon. The packs there are not worth it either. Swapped back into my main team and carried on.
I managed to get up to 10-0. I kept expecting the pain to come and knock me down but it didnt, right up to 11-0. That's when the difficulty kicked up. It was a bit of a win one, lose one thing after that until I was 15-4. Final game was 2-2 for ages, but around the 76th he scored. From me going constant pressure he managed to pick me off a few times after that and it was done.

Did Rodri and added in Mbappe and Saka and off into Rivals to try and get into Elite div. Luckily I was already at the 1 checkpoint because my warmup game was a paddlin'.

From there I won every game. Rodri really is a great DLP and does great with winning tackles. You can really tell he does miss that Intercept+ though. I was running him next to Enzo as the more attacking option. I have found I prefer Kimmich in that role though. I didn't actually score a goal with Saka in the run, but he feels very good. Something about Mbappe does feel a little off dribbling wise, but he doesn't half get some lucky bounces and his finishing is obviously crazy.

From facing it almost exclusively in rivals now, I think it's the way the 3 forwards draw the defenders/midfielders. Your CDM(s) don't seem to track the two CFs well at all, unless you move them manually.

This means that they do the thing where they get their chosen fullback forwards and look for the pass inside. If you move your own fullback out of position, the forwards in the box are all now 1v1 with a defender. You then concede the goal where they pass into the nearest CF and shuffle the ball up one until a free shot. If you move to cover the pass, the guy with the ball just shoots instead.
If you cover with a CDM, you instead leave the pass inside to their CM who pings it into whichever forward is most free for then the same situation.

If you defend it well, you end up in this weird spot where the opponent is just wiggling about with their full back until one of the two becomes open.

I don't think they have intelligent enough AI to be able to counter that so away it goes. A bit like how for years FM hasn't been able to cope with the 4-3-3 with the 3 up front being a flat 3 of strikers.

Modric is an insta complete for anyone. Kaka is probably the type of player that struggles in this meta. He's neither your wiggly midget, nor is he towering to win headers at the back post or from corners. But it's fucking Kaka.

Modric has been ticked off and I'm 6/10 on Ricardo(That through ball in '05 cutting through our defence has me annoyed at his low passing). I'm not sure there's a lot of point in doing Vitinha now? He seems like he'll be a similar player to Modric and he's not got any chemistry bonus. He's also a fair whack more cost wise.

I'm also tempted to sack off the French WL. Even though the game have given Kalulu, I'm not sure it's worth it at this point. El Sha is always great vibes, but other than a potential Italy WL next week will I ever use him?

These free futties cards are mental. Fabinho at CB feels like one of the best CBs ive used all year. I got 14 wins this WL. He seems to always make a last ditch tackle next to team of the tournament rudiger. This Reiten with her whipped crosses has 23 assists in 15 games. I decided to put them all together so i can get the objectives done. I dont want to take her out the team now :lol:

Yeah with whats in packs right now I am just working through the player SBCs in order, Modric first of course. I will skip Vitinha purely as he is to expensive. "Unlimited" grind or not thats too much.

Some of those cards are filth! Hopefully those versions of the heroes drop in later batches. Speaking of, do the batches get higher rated as we go? Like for example there's a lot of 85-86 specials now, but will next week that shift to 86-87 and then 87-88 the next and so on?

Also worth if you're doing the TOTW upgrades, keeping an eye out for that 87 Bisseck. He chains into two of the FUTTIES evos to become 95 rated, but with better pace out of him. My glow up one has 89 pace, this one would have 91.
The playstyles also differ. Glow up has Bruiser+, Relentless+ and Power shot+. Standard versions of Block, Power Header, Dead Ball, Finesse Shot and Incisive Pass.
The FUTTIES chain way would have Jockey+, Pinged Pass+, Trivela+. Standard versions of Block, Power Header, Long Ball Pass, Quick Step and Incisive Pass. Both have Aerial+, so to me the FUTTIES one is a decent upgrade for how he'd play in game. At least until they give us one in a few weeks.

The duo could also save my Fekir chain, but by the time he comes out of it it's just upgraded fodder really. I hit a 91 Rooney before and he looks quite nice out of it, so he's my first option for now.

I'm hoping from here we start to see some big names drop as icons. Yes judging by the price of Riquelme and such, if it was someone like a Gullit he'd be like 40 squads, but stick them up til the end of the game and let people grind them.

I've started 4-1 with the Frenchies, but it's tough sledding with the popularity of this 100 depth nonsense taking hold. The wingers, strikers and FBs are all amazing. My(4-4-2) midfield 2 of Petit and Fofana is a bit too jack of all trades, master of fuck all, so that's why I went for Warren. The two CBs I'm using are Futties Kalulu and Desailly. Both seem quite skinny in game so are struggling with the bigger attackers. My one loss they also both got absolutely bullied by Depay.

I am looking to bring in Kephren Thuram and ASM for the run. Both are cards I've wanted to use and I've near 500k so why not? I'm also debating Upamecano as FUTBIN states he is stocky. Just not sure my team needs that bombscare in it. I wish I had Konate.

9 Joselu(Showdown Plus) - My faviroute card. Can do everything including passing and defending

9 Giroud(TOTS) - Very strong, can dribble out of space and wins a lot in the air. Either foot in front of the net is a goal

8 Drogba(Icon) - If he wins the header at goal, its going in but he does not win them enough. Hold up play is great and he can score from anywhere

8 gold Haaland - Back him early and he was good. Didnt have the weak foot and wasn't the most mobile but his movement was insane.

7 Boniface(TOTS) Press Proven means he holds the ball up very well. He didn't win enough headers for my needs.

7 Sorloth(TOTS) - Will win every header he goes up for, but he cant turn and can only pass backwards.

7 Luuk De Jong(POTM) - Very strong and won a lot of headers. Lacked mobility.

6 Kalajdzic (EVO) - Lacked the strength and headers were not very consistent. He has zero playstyle plusses in the hope they give me on that has power header and aireal. I want to be ready

6 De Ketelaere(EuroMYM) - Body type lets him down. Too weak

6 Lukaku(All Version) - Lacks the mobility and turning circle. Headers were inconsistent

5 Courtois(Winter Wildcard) - Couldnt hold the ball up very well and heading was inconsistent

5 Crouch(All versions) - Not strong enough

5 Weghorst(UEFA EURO Path to Glory) - Not consistent to win headers or put them in the back of the night. Held up the ball as good as I could ask for.

From my experiaince, the best target men are under 6'5 and weigh between 80 and 95 kg. Anything taller than that, they don't seem to win enough aireal battles.

And then push on to 14. New player to test out in Modric too. I've been playing 4-4-2, with Saka and Mbappe up top during the game. Saka is set to drop deep with Mbappe to go in behind and it works really well. I prefer the feel of all 3 other forwards to Mbappe, but he just has that strength to push through and get defenders off him.
Modric btw is an absolute joy to use. Much prefer him to Enzo or De Paul as he's kind of both combined. It shouldn't need saying, but do him.

Got to 14 wins with 2 quick RQs. Really enjoyed using this 4-4-2. Then came a comeback win. From 3-0 down at HT I won 5-3. This left me 15-3, with 2 chances at the win for 16. The first game was an end to end, very even 4-4. I cut off an attack in the 88th minute though and instead of the safer pass, I tried a risky one through to a wide open winger. It got cut out and pinged forward to an immediate goal.
Final game was much the same. However I was getting lots of chances. He got so many last ditch tackles in, including some very risky slides. I was 6-5 down into injury time and he got another slide in on Mbappe, however the ball dropped kindly to Saka to tap in. In ET on my first attack he kept backing off so I finessed one in with sub Diaz. He then went all out attack way too early and I picked him off for another. He did claw 1 back very late but it was too late. A 16-4 finish in the end.

Player picks gave me some nice high rated fodder and then the two main ones both had Lobotka in, but I came out of it with Di Marco MYM and Marquinhos TOTT. All other options crap really. 3 pack gave me Kimmich, Lacumi and Aramburu. Those 3 went into finishing Kaka and giving me an Icon pack, of which I got Hernandez.

Sold the French stuff up and now have over 700k in coin. I have a tradeable radioactive Messi too which would take me near 800k. I think my problem now is looking at that team, does it get much better than that? I'm not sure it does. Even if it does, there's likely only a small handful of cards that would make it. I've still got the itch so I'll grind away, but it feels like I'm hitting on what is most of my final team.

Mark this down as another Sorloth card I just cannot get on with. There's just something I don't get on with. I don't think it's having a tall striker either because I've got on very well with the Joselu card as well as Haaland and Nunez though he's a measly 6"2.

As for Fekir, he has that, maybe not quite tippy top dribbling because of his body type, but amazing because the strength makes him a bastard to push off the ball. I can see why they kept him at a 95. Very good card.

Looking at some Evos and as Sincere posted, that Bompastor SBC into the Hero Evo is a hard one to beat. Lucio probably the other option there. Di Natale chained into it, is obviously the best option, but getting ahold of that 88 card if you don't have it now is going to be impossible. Unless the 88 is in packs right now, in which case a day trying to snipe one tomorrow might be the play. Interestingly in a reverse situation to my Fekir attempt, FUT GG reckons the chain doesn't work, but FUTBIN says it will.

As for others, if you have a big striker with power header+, you should try and get them through the FUTTIES Duo as it will add Aerial+ to give you the forbidden combo.

Otherwise, assuming you've got that 87 green Mukiele that is in packs now, you can chain that together with the countdown evo to give you this 95 rated Mukiele. (https://www.fut.gg/players/226166-nordi-mukiele/evolutions/) He becomes an incredible full back with Aerial+, Whipped Pass+ and Pinged Pass+. He also gets perfect passing and a 5* WF. Looks crazy with an anchor, just as long as you plan on doing no shooting whatsoever with him.

This new WL objective is a decent idea. Spreading over two weekends really eases the pressure on getting Bacha. Though her card is barely even an upgrade from the TOTS. Marchisio is an okay upgrade there, but very snide of EA to have TOTS out of packs for weeks, include them as criteria for all big SBCs and now tell you that you need a squad full.

I also took an all pink team into Rivals in order to test players and have fun. Kaka came along on the bench too. Team consisted of Courtois, James, Kalulu, Fabinho, Udogie, Kessie, Modric, Diani, Fekir, Sancho and Auba. Today I put in RLC for Modric(I already know he's great), moved Fabs into CDM to try him there and swapped Marquez for Kessie. Sorloth and Kaka came off the bench a lot.

Players I liked: Courtois. Probably best keeper not named Iker. Fabinho(at CB only). Something about him at CB just works better. Much less effective at CDM for me. Fekir. Just feels legit, 5* wf and brings set pieces to the team. Sancho. Elite dribbling, though shooting very inconsistent. Feels like he doesn't hit the ball hard.

Meh: James, Kalulu, Udogie, Marquez. These I found to all be decent, without being spectacular. Nothing wrong per se, but could be better still. James, I'd tempted to give a run in the main team to see again. Kessie also goes here. Great stats, but a CDM at this stage has to have either intercept+ or anticipate+, if not both. This let him down. Auba, again just doesnt specialise in one thing at all.

Bad: Sorloth. Just can not get on. Just not my style. RLC, feels so so slow. A look at the card closer shows 84 acceleration which may explain this, but he has quick step+

Kaka seems a good card but one I'm not sure where to use. He's probably more of a striker with the current game. Dribbling is good too and he gets these contextual touches that other cards don't seem to. Whether thats a Kaka thing or a standard press proven thing I dont know.

The team played okay, but in Elite Div against meta every game(did face one guy doing the same thing), it mostly lost. I've got a few new cards in to try now so most of this lot are off to gather dust, but I'm still trying and failing to get a Ramires/Sneijder/Baresi/Stoi/Ribery. All of the non-Baresi ones looks fun so I want.

Indeed. This version at least has put maybe too much emphasis on the PS+. For example now winning a tackle with TOTY Rodri, is significantly harder than with the TOTS variant because the latter has Anticipate+. Even though the stats are only real +1s difference.

Managed three different dupe 95 Kalulu today. Each time I saw the pink card my hopes went up before seeing his face once more. Great fodder though and as such Vitinha is done.

I may do a few more PPs but I'm sure I'll be getting close to a soft ban again soon so it might be best to just wait til post 6pm now.

I advise doing this all the way through. It's so much better than getting stuck in whatever is meta or not. Perfect example above. The pros/meta rats would not touch that Bompastor card because they have to have their LB staying back and defending, according to their 4-3-2-1 which cannot change. However Sincere loves it and is getting loads out of it.

There are so many cards to use now it's really great, but I can tell you the same 6/7 I'm guaranteed to see next time I enter a Rivals game...

Same pricing issue with Butra and Dybala. Yes Dybala doesn't get the chem boost, but both are CF types that are 5/5* and both are very similar in quality. Yet Butra is 1.5m ish more.

I was going to do the latter, but her pink card popped up inside a PP before. I have even done the 2 refreshed Icon packs. Double dupes for me. Zanetti GOTG and then FUTTIES Baresi.

Quite literally the only things for fodder to now go into are the 3 Icons, Abily, Riquelme and Butragueno. Of the three, Butra is most likely to get into a team of mine but for maybe not what I'm about to go on to.

The new passing mastermind evo gives a new path for Di Natale. He still becomes a 96, but there are new trade offs. You lose some pace, shooting and dribbling stats, but you gain perfect passing, better playstyles(imo), an extra position(CAM) and you get to 5/5* this way.

Now all of the heroes seem to be getting a refresh in this promo so far, but he has only just had a 97 out so it is quite unlikely he gets another one in an SBC. The new batch will be out too late to hang about for it too.

Rivals has seemingly gone to shit with the news of the glitch spreading. Interested to see how EA take this. I don't think they can fix this if I understand the game right. The only way would be remove the own goal auto-quit. However now that you're getting xp per game again, they could see this as xp farming. I'm already to the level just before Bonmati now.

I have the two SBCs for the TOTW pick to put in exactly the right rating of card from lowest to highest, with 3 85s added on the bench so I can pick and choose who goes in

Then for picks/upgrades I have it set up to throw in the right type and count of cards.

82 pick:
Add 6 common golds under 80 rated
Add 2 rare golds under 79 rated
Add 2 Liberatores over 75 but under 80
Add 2 rare golds under 80 rated

So when I run out of low rare golds it will pick the copa cards before adding 80 rated (since I keep a few of them around for the TOTW/daily SBC)

Like create some thing to auto-put up all those items for X price?

Only using it to price check but once you list one it remembers the prices, so bulk is easy.

This is me but add in Riquelme and Bompastor. The latter because I've already had her from this promo twice. I do need to compare how the Evo'd up one comes along to see if I can just let the SBC one go.

If you haven't tried her in game, give her a go allowed to get forward. She's amazing.

My only non-dupe was Joao Neves so into the club he goes for an SBC down the line.

I also popped an anchor on Reece James and he's probably now my favourite RB.

I excluded Bompastor for FUTTIES reasons.

I finished crafting last night. Open the first pack today, dupe 96 Adams and Henderson. Maybe I’ll save all these until we have the new batch.

Did a full WL run in one evening/night with a little break in the middle. Started off using a TOTS team to try and rescue Marchisio. First game 6-0 down inside 30 mins. The TOTS team plays noticeably slower than my main one now. I put my controller down but he was one of these who will keep chasing the ball and running up the score so I picked it back up and got warmed up and used to the team a bit more. Knocked a few goals in and went into the next game and again could feel how sluggish it was. Just about came through it with a late 4-3 win, but that sent me on a run all the way from 0-1 to 10-1.

Towards the second half of that run it really clicked. So much so an adoring fan sent me literal death threats. I swapped the main team back in and then picked up a quick win followed by the best game of the weekend, which I lost AET 5-4. It was proper end to end football, no ratty tactics. At 11-2 now the strangest thing happened. I was gifted 3 wins on the run. There was even a 4th in there who quit as soon as the game started without gifting too. As nice as that is, the increase in form to 14-2 sure did knock the opponent difficulty up. The last four games were lose one, win one, but that was enough to get me to 16 wins.

Sadly nothing of note from the rewards. Triple 95s in the pack and the two picks only gave me one non-dupe in each and that was Watkins and Gonzalez. Still, Bacha and Marchisio have been rescued and I've gained enough level to move past Bonmati on the tracker. I've also moved past 1m coins. What I'll do with it, I have no idea.

Very nice! I have the GOTG Marchisio (with a whopping 0 games played) so had no urge to get involved this weekend.

I am in the same boat with coins, up to 1.7m, making about 400k this week from consumables, random sales and discards. I am thinking about doing the 81 x 100 pack when the next batch comes out, see if I can hit some cards really early to build from there. Or if I hit 2m before this batch goes I might do it then.

Seems like the best bang for your buck as everything is useful then. Exchanges and TOTW pack (so some tradeable stuff) galore!

Right, I'm gonna say it. Futties has been crap so far. A power side step rather than a curve for the vast majority of it and worse still far too many of the cards have pre-existing versions that are comparable if not just as good.

The menu grind was alright, but I'm even bored of that now. The reason? There's very little you can pack from it that actually improves your team, so all you end up doing is the grind of death to put shitty cards into SBC to get cards back that don't improve your team.

Examples of the above have already been provided but for another one if it were needed - I packed TOTY Hansen the other day. Not used any of her cards and was excited when I realised who it was only to check her card and realise it's just crap at this stage.

I said before the promo started I had a nasty feeling they would try to drip feed this one and it's happening. Every SBC(but not Werner/Dybala?) is coming in at 95 rated. If you're lucky you get a 96 or even 97, but looking at my team, it's littered with 97s and 98s already now. Unless he happens to be my favourite player, what is the point of a 95 Sterling, when you gave us a 95 Sterling nearly a month ago through an evo...

It's like they forget and then throw something out last minute. Only we know they don't because the leakers are giving this day(s) in advance. We still have this very batch of best of for a week and a half yet too.

Opened rivals packs as we've this batch for over a week yet so nothing will change. Managed to complete Riquelme from scratch just from that. I'm at the point where any exchange pack deals me about half worth of dupes. Enough in the club for maybe 40odd PPs again. There is only Abily, Butra and Sterling left to put fodder in as I just mopped up the two refreshed icon picks.

GOTG Koeman and Futties RvN. Both the only non-dupes in each pick. Assuming we get Bastian later. From the look of his card I'm expecting 15ish squads. They need to start producing the goods on these futties player ones though.

TOTT Marquinhos for me and it was a dupe. Sent everything through the exchange etc and did manage to tick off Kubo and Basti. The pricing of both is confusing. Also got Olmo off an 86+ PP.

The tracker also gave me an 84 x 20 which showed a pink, but then turned out to be my 4th Bompastor.

I'm also getting quite ticked off with the futties players having alternate versions in packs. I've had TOTY Hansen twice, A.Pele double figures times and same for the 91 Mascherano. And even the lack of pink cards in general. I have opened a great many picks, packs, guarantees etc. Bompastor is I think the only one I've seen more than once.

They showed their hand with the Butra pricing. They're basically either giving you 95 cards for cheap or if you want them end game you better pony up. It also begs the question that if they think this Eto'o is worth 32 squads, what are your big boys going to be?

I'm going to suggest tomorrow/Monday we're going to see a further step up on the upgrade SBCs to allow you to grind this better, but that seems a time sink right now. If there isn't it's just mind boggling.

Assuming they do improve the grind then this is my preferred way to do it. Grinding is better than proving sub-par cards.

There is also an evo, that lets you do another rating bump to a FUTTIES evo you've already done but adding a 5th PS+ of Rapid+.

If anyone is going to do the Silver stuff I would say wait a day or two to see if we get a full set of evo's. They say any game mode. We could do some friendlies and back out for each other to level up 6 cards (hopefully) in minutes.

Done 4/5 of the picks (hunting Bruno really) and I have managed to avoid dupes, despite having loads of them. Best one probably only Marquinhos or Sabitzer though.
