Yeah, think this will be the best grind if you're solely focusing on getting a TOTY:

Mixed League SBC's
Premium League SBC's
2 Player Gold Updgrade Pack/League Upgrade
Premium League SBC

Do the 82 x 20, 85 x3 and 80+ gold player picks until they're all gone (86+ as well if you want but it's horrific value unless it's been juiced). 81s to 85s into the TOTW pack if you need in forms and 85s and higher into the exchange.

EDIT: That's what I'll be doing tonight and saving the bigger packs I have until tomorrow now when hopefully the icons come, if they don't I'm cracking them anyway.

I have two Ultimate Packs and I have to scroll all the way to the bottom to open them and then the Small Prime Gold Players Pack. Do they show in the web app from worst to best?

Best investment you can make is fodder during TOTY.

Sometimes its the 86s/87s that are they way to go, as you can get lucky with a good SBC coming out right after or for Future Stars and they boom in price. 84s always pay off though.

Found a really fucking annoying bug with one of the evos.

Stuck a 59 rated Fulham CB into the Patrick Who evo - plan was to take him to 63 then I could stick him into Fast Forward to make him an 88. But it seems like there's a bug where you can't evolve a player who has been through the Patrick Who? evo any further. So now I've wasted the evo and have a 63 rated CB who is stuck there.

I can buy a new regular bronze card but then I'm spending 75k to just make him an 84 after Fast Forward. Just irritating all round.

So the reason for the SBC for Messi being borked was that the game selects a league before the player in said league. The game is obviously coded in such a way as to more commonly give you a shitter. Problem is in the Saudi and MLS leagues there was only one card rated 86+. So if the game chose one of them for you, it was a guaranteed TOTY.

I packed Sorloth's inform untradeable and decided to throw him into my team on one chemistry. 6 foot 5 inches. 195cm. Stocky body type. 99 rated for everything involved with strength and heading with the traits. He has 29 goals in just 10 games in a 442. Long ball FC is working wonders.

Not sure what to do on the game now. The players i want to evo, you cant evo as they are all high rated and dont qualify.

The blatant pack weight turn up after toty is disgusting. I started davies and ive been doing the daily brzone and silver upgrade method since toty has been out of packs. Ive got one 87 section left. I couldnt get a sniff of bernardo silva during toty. Now, i have thrown him into every sbc

They seem to have nailed down the formula this year to take it back to how it was when UT was only a few years old. Back then it was almost impossible to get the top players unless you sank the money in. In recent years, just grinding could take you a lot of the way there but you were reliant on some luck along the way.

This year they seem to have got it to the point of giving out mostly untradeable packs. Then turn the weight all the way down for TOTY and keep up the flow of untradeable upgrades. You could have basically unlimited packs, but the rate it so low you could be going for days without hitting one. You might get lucky and get one, or really lucky and hit on more, but almost assuredly they're all untradeable.

This has left the market disappointed as almost nobody has a TOTY to sell. Even if they do, why would you when they are so far ahead of the curve for the most part. It's now back to how it was. All of your coin might now buy you one of the outfield players, but that's likely it. Other than the two keepers, the cheapest outfield player in the womens team is just under 1m. Mens team? 3m.

Now you add in the TOTY Messi debacle. Most of your competitive players would have been online for that SBC and most will have got him. If you're more casual, you're now so far behind the power curve after this years TOTY that you either face a bad time when you try to play a ranked mode, or you just get frustrated with it and stop playing.
They obviously didn't intend for the Messi situation, but they have it how they want it. The top players are not quite unobtainable, but they are for most people.

First impressions. Nothing special. He does bot seem to win more duels compared to the other target men. You come up against any defender with Aerial+ and he has less than 50% to win it and hold it up

I am thinking about waiting and only claiming one that gives him Rapid +. It would give a +3 to Pace and Physical and no Ovr change. I think single playstyle cards might get an evo soon enough.

I've resisted stating such as I was fully prepared to give it a chance and really trying to, but this game has been a bag of wank since TOTY and I'm pretty convinced will remain as such until TOTS. There's simply no point playing it or grinding it in that time (unless you really enjoying doing those things in and of themselves) as the rewards are pointless.

6 to 8 weeks I spent on the free to play account and I haven't seen a single thing that would upgrade my team since just after TOTY, bar a handful of utterly unpackable cards.

They've completely fucked the power curve, there's no turning back and I think the only way forward from this point in future versions to avoid it happening again is to get rid of TOTY, which is obviously never going to happen.
