After selling up most of my investments I put this team (https://www.futbin.com/22/squad/5298357) together - switching to a 4-2-2-2 in-game with Cancelo and Messi as CAMs.

Next upgrade is probably Mbappe for Icardi and then Tchouameni (or one of the Marseille people if they look good) for Paqueta. I need to give Paqueta more of a try though. Might also want a better LB than Shaw. He's fine but on 7 chem he only has around 85 pace so I need someone a bit more rapid. Roberto Carlos might be a good option.

You can still get a pretty good team together for MM. Martial and Jesus up top, ASM, Fred and some silver guy in midfield and the FEC and Ake at the back. They upped the requirements so you can get the Silver Stars in there now

I didn't even notice the MM requirements until playing last night. For some reason I forced myself to do that 86 Ligue 1 CAM so I came up against him all the time - I can confirm that even that 85 CDM Chalobah is a bit of a monster, intercepts everything and very strong, especially against the MM shitters you need to use.

I find the stamina a bit lacking the 88 CDM one. He's still the better card than the CB but not going to be in your team for all that long I doubt

EA are giving out compensation picks to people who had RB Edouard in the Year in Review SBC. They are also giving them to people who didnt do the SBC, because they are idiots. Worth a check.

I’ve changed stuff up with Walker from the party bag. Gone with starting 5212 with Hakimi moving to CB on 7 Chem, ESR in the club and on 8 Chem and Walker in at RWB.

They switch to CDM Hakimi, RB Walker and CAM ESR, with Ben Yedder now at LM in place of Allessandrini, and I’m scoring for fun. ESR has 7 in 6, and Hakimi is brilliant at CDM. I’m looser at the back, his M/H being a reason, but he gives so much in progressing the ball out from deep.

Been itching to do a no transfer market game for ages so figured I may as well try now.

Quick question, can I link a Twitch account to two PS accounts? Or is that not possible/would cause problems with things like Twitch Prime rewards?

As you both say, he is a pain to fit in, however the side I built isn't exactly the big bucks. I could likely recover the coin cost and maybe even suffer the dreaded Mendy at LB for a while.
He looks too good of a card for me not to be using at this stage.

I was also maybe looking to get that HM Martinez done as my star attacker, but this may change things somewhat. A good Argentine LW would make this all so much easier, but unfortunately there isn't one.

Didn't see the thing about bugged rewards until after I'd claimed mine. That's going to be a nightmare to unpack for EA. If people have managed to open unlimited packs and then use the results to do SBCs and things too it'll be a nightmare.

TOTY and this have been mega content to be fair to EA so we are in an extreme. I haven’t touched most of these SBCs recently though, even if some do trigger some FOMO.

In theory there are three sets of rewards a week for people to get, coins/fodder do come by quickly with games played.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned but they've put a FS token locked behind a 25k pack in the store.

Having ignored every SBC token so far I think the max I can get is 16 and even that is a push as one is in the store pack, which I don't think I'll buy. So I can either do the 3 lowest packs for 10 tokens or take a chance on the FS Team 1 pack for 12.

Irritatingly I'd love to have both the HM Martinez and it would seem daft not to do that Neymar also. I just don't think I'll have the resources for both. I've a smidge over 100k and not a great amount of fodder.

Leaves me very unsure where to go from here. I could do with a French LB for Ginola and Varane so Hernandez or Delaine look like the best options.

It was definitely better than any team I faced in Div 10, 9 or 8. I didn't expect it to be this easy to get a vaguely competitive team this quickly from a "no buying anything from the transfer market" game. I haven't even unlocked 88 Chalobah, Sarr or the French chap either yet.

Packed FS Salisu and Kabore in the space of about 5 player picks/packs. Tried out both in Rivals and Salisu in particular is a rock. It's only Div 4 but he absolutely pocketed POTM CR7 in the last game I had.

HM Lautaro is now up to 21 goals and 10 assists in 8 online games. If you haven't done him yet, I would highly recommend doing so.

Champs is only 20 games now but you need to qualify first. 4 wins from 10 games is the requirement (but make sure you have enough points - which if you're stopping at 4 wins will require the points from 5/6 losses). You can seemingly qualify at any point before a WL is finished and enter that weekend.

Now I know PIM Stevie is by far the best card in there, but looking at that Icon lineup as a new player I'm actually very happy with it. Save for Thierry, every Icon card there would improve my team by quite some way.

Left myself the task of cramming in 19 WL games last night. 9 wins was the main aim, anything more would be a bonus.

I found this weekend to be the most infuriating yet - played a lot of insane teams, and some frustrating tactics and at one point I lost 5 in 6. But I managed to get to 9-7 (including 1 DC), and I figured I might as well push in search of 2 more wins.

Game 17 I was outplayed fairly comprehensively, and it made me question my decision. I needed 1 more point to get to the rank for 9 wins anyway so if I lost Game 18 I'd call it a night. As it happens, I came up against someone definitely worse than me, and rattled off an easy win thanks to a Lautaro Martinez hat-trick. 1 win from 2 needed, and Game 19 was very even. It was 1-1 late in the first half and an enjoyable game against someone willing to attack when suddenly, the game froze, and I got the dreaded disconnection message for the 2nd time of the night. :moop:

One win needed from the final game then. I faced up against a fairly meta team with a few holes in it, and early in it felt only a matter of time that I'd break through and take the lead. But his defence and keeper stood strong and I lost concentration, and once I was behind I was chasing the game and making mistakes. I was 5-1 down with 20 minutes to go when I woke up. Verde, Vinicius Jr and Felipe Anderson all scored to get me to within 1 goal, but at 5-4 my opponent decided to unleash the kick-off run to break through. Maignan made the save, but then proceeded to claw the loose ball away, into the path of my Vidic who walloped the ball into the goal....

Not what you need at 3am on a Monday. Seething doesn't begin to cover it, 10-10 (with 2 disconnects). I at least got 2 86s from my TOTW pack (Trippier and Reus), and 86 De Ligt as one of my reds.

I'm looking at it from my clubs point of view like this:

I'm ruling Henry, Gerrard and Garrincha out. The first two just aren't it in this game. Garrincha whilst very good, wont be able to be redeemed until likely the start of April. Maybe at a push the end of March. There's a decent chance I'll be able to get someone between now and then who will fill that role almost as well as he could.

It then becomes a question of what is most valuable to the club. I've almost always gone for fodder packs, save for that time I look PIM Deco last year. Taking them now I don't think makes a whole bunch of sense. What promos are there between now and TOTS? Not too many and we've missed the two best ones.
Yes there is a small chance now of packing a big time RTTF or a usable gold card, but that list is so small at this point.

Looking at the Icon packs. Yes a lot of them are tempting for the gamble, but are any of them going to be better for me than Cafu? Unlikely. The prime of him is an end game card.
In the meantime I could have Xavi in my team by the weekend.

For me Cafu has to be a lock. With him as such, the only other choice is do I want Xavi in, in the meantime, or do I want to gamble on said fodder packs?
