All rivals done for the week/season now done and that was quite enjoyable. Up to 1940 SR which is the highest I've been at. Proper heavyweight boxing at this level now though. If you turn up not playing well you're getting punched in the face repeatedly.

All of the online swaps done too, which was much much worse. Gameplay felt horrid in the mode. Multiple messages from people who scored first and paused, but I dont leave and then score and do it back.

Great to see you back Yevrah. You actually come at a time where 3-5-2 is the most Meta it's been in a long long time. A pro recently won the ePremier League with it so everyone is now trying it out.

Okay so they've updated the Champs Rewards and they've fucked it.

The TOTS pack starts at 14 wins, which IMO is too high. The red picks situation is shit though. They've capped reds at 90 rating up to rank 6 and it's a mix of the two leagues AND you only get one pick. Two player picks start at Rank 5 and are community players only and they're only 1 of 3. You only get 3 picks for rank 1.

Massive case of alienating everyone below 9 wins ability really. The sweat level is going to increase massively, but you've made it nearly pointless for everyone to play who can't reach 14 wins reliably.


EDIT: The way they've set it up, there is no way currently to get anyone over 90 rated from your red picks from the Eridevise. So immediately cutting out all of the top players you'd want. lol.

This could be an indicator that pack weight is going to be very low for the top TOTS cards.

They way it's set up now, there is little point for the effort beyond 5 wins, unless you can get up to 14. It's going to be so very costly to your rewards if you get stopped at 13 wins for example. The levels of toxicity and sweat this weekend are going to go through the roof.

I've been looking back at Icon Swaps. My thinking is, if you want one of the Icon Packs you can get now(91+ att/mid or 93+ moments), you should do it with this set of tokens. You can then turn the fodder packs, available for Ligue 1, Serie A and Ultimate TOTS, in.

The reasoning behind it is that most Icons available, even PIMs will look a lot less good come May 23rd. And there's a chance after all of that wait, you're getting mugged off by the pick. Even the 94+ one will still have the chance of Van Basten, Baresi, Puyol and Beckham. 93+ opens up a lot more shitters too.
You can then get to May 23rd and crack open the fodder packs. Surely there'll be a few TOTS in them. You get the chance for a good TOTS and if it's shite, they can go into the released PIM SBC of your choosing. Currently Vieira/Cantona is probably the popular choice and you'd be knocking a massive chunk of them off.

Havent decided what I'm doing myself. As a Liverpool fan the chance to get Kenny in for a few weeks is very tempting. Best also should be nuts, but he would mean dropping Cali out of the team.
VDS also tempts me a lot as something about Casillas just doesnt work. I put Lafont back in and while he doesnt make some of the mental saves Iker could, or have the awesome kicking, he did seem more consistent. Perhaps it's the height? PIM VDS is also a nightmare to face.

Epackulated all over the place, without touching those league specific ones. Untradeable Gerard Moreno and Mitchell TOTS along with a lot of fodder. Turned the former into FODA-reno and used all the stuff to complete Raspadori and finish the higher half of Lahm. Both done for "free" and shall play this weekend.

I am however now pretty wiped out of fodder. Did get a TOTS Haller in the resulting packs, though I've had to list him for 39k and even then thats a lot lower than I expected already.

So I believe last years highest rated community player was Valverde at 92. We've blown right by that here. So many mental looking cards. Gravenberch, Suarez, Fred, Zaha, Laporte.

What's crazy is I can afford like 4-5 of the right ones of these at least.

Market is falling out of its own ass atm. For example Vieira SBC was at the start of the day, 1.45m to do. He's down 150k already and it's been like 4 hours. Lahm down to 680k from scratch too. was 800+ for a while.

Investment wise it seems to be all on Unnerstall for a TOTS as he's the only 87 rated. Currently hovering around 19k.

Looking at a couple of favourites fodder wise. Cancelo is 13.5k now, Fabinho down to 12k.

Knocking up to 87s, Muller is bang on 15k.

Kroos dipping below 20k.

My brain is telling me these can't fall too much further and it can only go up from here surely?

I really dont think cards like Kroos can go much lower. Looking at his graph from last year (88 then too) he dipped at this time and went back up again with a nice spike. I am guessing tasty SBCs.

Yeah I've actually done a little research this time(must be ill) and found that last year the content released with the community team was a bit crap. Then it really kicked up a gear for the prem team and I remember cards like Coutinho for La Liga etc.

There's something about Medina that doesn't quite click. Yes he's fast and even has stock body type, but he does seems to go missing in some tackles. The above allows me to bring in Chiellini and essentially just moves the off chem player to being Perisic and not Mbappe.
I'd keep Tonali in, but then that forces me into certain formations and loses me a lot of the flexibility I have now.

Won one, lost one of those and then the last one I was 3-1 up at HT. I was dominant in the game, but he brought on PIM Kenny and ruined me with him.

The gameplay felt strange. Like someone had turned the speed way up. Still, Raspadori finished with 13 goals and 7 assists in the 9 games he played. He feels like a mix of TOTYHM Chiesa and FB Mkhitaryan. Lovely for the price, but you can sometimes feel why he is that cheap.

They've also changed the squad battles rewards. Like you I'd held off on it just in case.

Silver 2 gets you an untradeable member of either team capped at 89. Silver 1 to Gold 2 gets you the same capped at 90. Gold 1 gets you a 1 of 2 player pick of either team, capped at 90. Then all 3 Elite ranks give you a player from either team that is uncapped.

TOTS cup seems harsh, but I guess it should be looked at as free packs for any win really. I doubt most will get 10.

I was also looking at plugging away at Maldini as my next move, but looking at how they've juiced Laporte, I might not.

The physicals on Maldini are woeful. As a direct comparison he's way faster and the physicals don't even compare. He's also a lot better on the ball too.

If this is the standard of the top defenders now, then Maldini almost becomes a bit pointless.

Dirt cheap too between 20-30k. Feels like teams are taking that huge jump you usually get around TOTY/S. Even he is a decent cheap fast CB. He's also French which links in all of your other meta players should you need.


Going to make a start on WL tonight. Hopefully I'll get the first 10 games done. My expectation is currently anywhere between 9-11 wins.

I'm hoping to get the two player picks if possible. If I can't then I'm not overly fussed really. Suarez or Laporte would be the dream, but in reality I want something that I can use! As mentioned before it's a good 4 weeks until a TOTS that really applies to my team. A lot of mega cards will come out in that time while my team is likely to not change much.

Got off to a good start getting to 8-1. Decided fuck it, I'll finish it tonight. I'm not overly bothered with this team as there's little in there for me anyway. Went from there to 11-4.
I got 3 people who trolled the free win. All went into the game but kicked it into touch rather than gift the win. After each of these I matched someone who beat me. So I decided cba with the stress so I gifted the last 5. Hoped it would be good karma.

Reds were McGinn and Caquaret. And nothing special from the packs. A shame really as neither are too useful to me. I'd use McGinn to link in Mings but that means me getting an EPL left back and for now I don't have one better than Mitchell who looks meh.

A definite improvement in team quality this week and also opponent skill. Once I broke the 10 game barrier I was facing tough matches every time. Also it was clear when I was sometimes against an opponent with an older team but still better than me.

I'm currently using him at CAM behind RvP and Ronaldo but might have to drop the former and bring in Lahm/Nedved to give the team a bit more balance as the front three are all a little similar and Van Persie's probably the weaker of them

I lost this game.

He had TOTY Donnarumma in goal who was just an octopus. After the game I bought him and stuck him in goal. At least to my eye didnt let one in that made me think "really?!" and pulled several worldies off.

As for the TOTS cup... I took my merry band of red picks and rare golds into that and it's just an unfair concept. I'm 0/6 in the mode which now makes it almost pointless to play. It's very highly toxic. I've faced 3 people who were just all possession. They scored first and that's me spending the entire match chasing the ball down in their back line.
The other two were close games I just didn't win and the very last one I played I was 2-0 up right til he went constant pressure. He scored from open play in the 94th minute despite there being 1 added on. Another pens loss for me after that. Infuriating.

I see this attitude a lot. Say fuck it and do him. If the FUT Gods are on your side and you do pack those big players then you're right in the money, but say you don't, because likely none of us will. Then you've robbed yourself of a week or two of not using him.

Ended up getting to 7 wins in TOTS cup. So that's 7 wins out of 9 after trying constant pressure from the start as Raoul suggested. I found it definitely caught few out. It can get you 2-0 up before they know what hit them. And in shortened halves game modes that's almost GG right there. The two that beat me knew how to beat the press and once you can do that consistently, it's actually easy goals for you.

I find it a bit odd we've had no EFL TOTS leaks at all? In fact looking at champs rewards it lists 90 capped "PL/ERE." Surely not another week of the dutch team?

The Dias packing leads me to think the time is running short on Ramos. He outmatches him in almost every way physically and defensively. Ramos is more agile but that's about it really.
A red pick Cancelo would be absolutely perfect from here. The new one has H/H instead of the H/M of the old, thus making the new one a perfect CM or the perfect LM in a 3-5-2.

My issue is that linking Mbappe in becomes a fair whack harder without really rejigging the full team about.

There is serious temptation to claim the fodder packs right now and submit them to see if I can pull any of the Liverpool boys. Looking at these cards almost all Icons are pointless.

Bernardo looks like Messi with that dribbling boost. Alisson has fucking 91 pace!! Penandes has lost some special card pace but has become decent defensively to compensate. With a shadow becomes a great CM. Virgil shafted with the pace split. KDB given the opposite to Penandes and has some defence removed in favour of a smidge more pace and dribbling.

I've just got Saka done but in the packs afterwards annoyingly fat fingered it and accidentally opened the La Liga 81+ jumbo pack. Luckily for me that team has the least implications on my own, but it's still annoying.

Obviously the market is different than last year, but I looked into what happened then. There was meh community TOTS stuff last year, then the EPL started off okay before it hit a bang with some juiced cards coming. Last year for example, Kroos hit 28k during this same day and then was back up over 40k just over a week later.

The gamble I'm making is that I can get by in WL for another week without buying for the team.

I have a great defence and midfield for it, but only gold Cavani as 2nd striker and regular Trent at RB. I'd been using Dias in the Saka mode and he feels mega in the tackle. He has some extra presence over Ramos, but you do feel that top tier agility not being there.

I went with an Engine on him, makes his passing perfect, minus free kicks, and his dribbling pretty much high 90's.

Boy does he feel big in game. Now my midfielder of choice is usually a 5"8-5"10 kind of guy, nice and agile, but perhaps lacking physically. He really does not. He is also very silky for a man of his size. Now he will not feel like Bernardo Silva will, but you aren't pushing anyone off the ball with Bernardo.

Another big one for me is, I'm used to having used Cali, Lahm and Tonali, all of whom have high defensive work rates. Dele does like to push on with the attack, but it does also pop him up in some great positions.

The quest for a perfect qualy run was ruined in injury time of the last game. Put Carrasco and Flashback Greaseman back in to try the former out. Jury is still out for me.

It seems the red picks are split into two groups. Of the 15 EPL cards, the 7 you're going to be seeing are Rice, Rodri, Trent, Alisson, Silva, Penandes and Dias. So far all the rewards I've seen are just those guys. If you're very lucky you'll end up with one of the others as a selection.

I've also just noticed Gomez only has 3 days left and Kane 6. A bit shady they don't give you longer. But I suppose if we get upgrade packs next week they could be grinded easier.

Began the evening 6-1. Gameplay was very tough to move the ball quickly, as such it took a couple of early losses to adjust. Found myself 8-3 before long. Then went on something of a win streak and got to 11-3. 6 games left just needing to win half. Won my first with ease but then came 2 skilling dickheads back to back. I quit out of one but the other got a lucky bounce from my tackling a skill move at the death. Put him right through. I then lost in extra time to leave the dream hanging.
Next game I went 4-0 up. No problem, only he didn’t quit. He made it 4-4 and big Fat Boy came off the bench to bully his way through on goal and win me it.
Last game up and another skiller. He went 1-0 up immediately. I went fuck it and went constant pressure. End of a long session and I cba. But it worked. They guy was 3-1 down before he adjusted and I nicked a 4th to end it inside 30 mins.
