I was 7-2 in FUT Champs before starting an evening session of games. It was honestly the worst experience yet on FIFA 20 - every game I was encountering button delay and a lot of stuttering/lag. I lost 6 in 7 at one point, managed to get to 11-9 before packing it in. A real shame because after starting so well, I was hoping to push on to 14 wins or more.

This brings me to the formation change. 4-3-1-2 has worked for the first month for me, but I completely felt the lack of space this weekend. No wide support, and when the full backs did push on, I was so open to the counter (and god forbid I try to make manual tackles on the shit servers this weekend). I used 4-3-3 all of last year, so I think I will move back to that for one weekend and see how it goes.

The requirements for some of the smaller clubs are really easy too. 4 or 5 players only required. I've been investing over the past fortnight and have 10+ for each team so should be able to get both and still make a profit overall!

I've been using crisps off the bench when finishing the Mexican and couple of Turkish league SB games and my word is he good. I know you can't fully judge a player based on SB games but he's averaging a hattrick over 8 games for me. The difference between him and Shearer is massive as he's got the pace to skip past players with decent agility/balance and he can finish very reliably with either foot.

Can't wait to try him and the actual first team out in rivals tomorrow.

Took the plunge early and dropped 17 tokens on Rui Costa. Him replacing Scream James in the side allowed me sell the latter and use the coins to fund 88 Kluivert. I've stuck a Hunter card on him, but he is a genuine obscenity. 37 goals in 19 games so far, all online, and he only got until half time in a lot of those because his work was done and I could bring on someone to work toward the league objective players with their many packs.

Rui Costa is also shit hot, with 20 assists and 8 goals in 22 games. He has a very nice line in running past the ball and collecting it with his back foot, a move which I'm yet to see thwarted.

I'm not finding that although it does seem to be easier to score from within the box now.

My team seems to be sitting deeper in the patch though and I'm struggling to get my strikers the ball from midfield at times as there just seems to be a lot of space which no one is occupying.

It wont be 4% because packing X player will be higher than Y.

You can't have a set percentage across the board otherwise people would be pulling the higher ones far too frequently. Pulling 3 Ronaldo's would be astronomical.

I finished Bailey today.

I did the 85 the other day when I packed Laporte the other day and the 84 today when I packed a duplicate untradeable 84.

Doubt I'll ever use him unless I need to crack some Bundesliga first owner stuff out (although I think I'm covered anyway) but I didn't know what else to use the duplicates on.

Also, I've done about 20 of the 82+ players today and bar a couple of 84's have been my best.

Little bit of an overall update from me.

I haven't done any of the league specific upgrade packs for this promo - I've been burnt too many times and I don't fancy pumping all of my cards/coins into that right now. I also didn't bother with any promo packs, but I completed a few of the flash SBCs which yielding a few boards and some league SBC fodder. However, opened up some of the objective level reward packs and managed to get an untradeable Ter Stegen. Last week I took 86 Canales as my red player pick, and I was also able to craft POTM Toko-Ekambi, so I'm close to compiling a nice first owner La Liga squad.

For last weekend and FUT Champions, I needed a way to get one more link to Battaglia, so I came up with this:

Baby van Nistelrooy was 180k, and came with a Hunter. He felt quite good to use, could get pushed off the ball occasionally, but deadly finishing and always in the right spot. Battaglia ended up with double figures for goals and assists, and I finished the weekend 11-7.

Not sure whether to maybe use a different Icon and LW for this weekend, or give it another go as I was reasonably pleased with how the team performed.

RvN feels like a striker that works now before there are too many ridiculously good defenders available in the game. Give it a month or so and I think he will feel less effective. I was thinking of doing Flashback Fabregas, but I don't think it'd be worth using 150k of players for a bench/2nd squad player at this stage of the game.

Installing the web app on my phone about a month ago has definitely dropped my productivity at work. Been mass buying silvers at 150 coins, and churning through bronze packs whenever I get the chance. Just packed two Mexican league bronzes that sold for 6.5k and 8k respectively.

Weekend League servers felt horrendous this weekend, some serious button delay and my players felt so sluggish doing anything. Somehow scrambled my way to 11-9, my 11th win being an extremely satisfying comeback from 3-0 down inside 12 minutes.

So due to my love for stats, I've been keeping spreadsheets of all the various league SBCs that I've been preparing for, including cost, sales recouped from duplicates/extras, sales recouped from the pack and players kept.

Firstly, the Liga NOS. I paid 45,300 coins for all the players needed (and more), recouping 51,327 coins in sales of duplicates and from the packs, as well as keeping 125 players in the club (most notably Rakitic), and of course picking up Battaglia. Basically, 6k profit, Battaglia and a shit load of club filler.

The Super Lig SBC was even more profitable. 42,150 was the initial outlay for all teams, but I made a lot more back from sales - 67,704, over 25k profit. I chose Arslan as the SBC player, and kept 105 other players from the packs in the club, including Alaba, David Silva and IF Odegaard, not to mention a fair few costly silvers from the Bundesliga and the CSL.

With the spreadsheet, I now have the Eredivisie, Pro League, Scottish Prem, A-League and (almost) J-League all done. I'm starting to work on the Argentinian and Mexican leagues too.
