I packed Sergio Ramos over the weekend, given it's not an IF should I just cash out immediately or use him in a La Liga team?

I also packed Benz and over the course of the game packed enough players to pull start an 85 rated La Liga squad at the moment along with about 300k in coins.

I was starting to think maybe I should abandon my Dutch-centric team and focus on building my La Liga team up as it seems there may be better chance of in-forms that actually slot in (as well as already having a Frenkie IF already).

I'm not really sure though. I love how my Dutch team plays, but if I stay stuck in and save up and get say Hazard + Griez I'd probably be looking really tasty with my La Liga squad.

He really is. I have the 84 IF version of him untradeable so thought it would be easy but he's crap. Runs away from crosses, gets bullied in the air, if he gets onto it his headers/volleys are shit etc etc.

I completed the Jesus Navas SBC in the end, sniped a few players and managed to get it done for around 35-40k overall. He will be a nice supersub to the main team, and play on the right for the first owner La Liga team.

However, I'm still playing people well above my skill level and I'm now in the rank bottom end of Division 6. Ever since these Icon Swaps objectives came out, it has been absolute hell. I've gone 2-2-10 in my past 14 online game for fucks sake, and my Rivals rank is 720, down from 950. Last night I played 5 games, and could only manage 1 draw, and 2 low driven goals - no progress for Icon Swaps and minimal progress for Dzeko. It's a fucking pisstake when I have limited time to play the game and I keep coming up against better players.

It's been discussed on the FIFA subreddit, but he complains constantly about wanting to grind the game, and then moans that the objectives require too much work or are too tough to complete legitimately. Sometimes I really enjoy a video or two from him, other times he just moans and whinges.

The reality is that it also doesn't matter how much content EA chuck at the game he'll always be able to finish it because he's on it for 12 hours a day.

My biggest gripe with him is his crusade for a casual mode, which EA have now given him in friendlies, but that's not really what he wants. What he actually wants is a competitive mode with no ranked matchmaking where he can just hammer people who're much worse at the game than him and still enjoy reward benefits. Which is a fair enough request, but don't paint it as anything else.

I was losing 3-2 in a Survival match right at the end and I only needed 2 goals to complete the objective. I then decided to start scoring own goals to be kind and help my opponent should they be playing for Dzeko (why else would anyone play these nonsense modes?) and I got booted at 7-2 for scoring too many own goals.

The result was listed but because of the boot the two goals did not count towards Dzeko :moop:

Also, I've only played with Shearer in said shit games so I can't properly judge him but his shot power is insane. I hit a green timed power shot which went just wide but the ball could have killed a man.

I had a huge session yesterday on my day off working through all manner of objectives, and managed to earn enough points to qualify for FUT Champions. Decided to enter this weekend just for more rewards so I've got to grind out 11 wins tonight and tomorrow.

Worked on Scream Dzeko during the day yesterday and managed to just finish him off in time. The joy felt when Hakan Calhanoglu drilled in a cross which was mullered home by Martinez in the middle was incredible. Fist pumps and out of my seat, because that cross objective was the bane of my life. I'm already 8/10 on German goals, 9/10 for SB through ball assists, and 2/3 on the assists in wins by a certain stat player, so Ozil isn't far away.

Up to 81k XP and Level 27 too. Shouldn't be long before I'm maxed out. I'll be taking Tolisso for sure.

Bought Scream Trippier last night, and first impressions are that he's an absolute bargain for the 68k he set me back. Nelson Semedo had been doing a terrific job in that position anyway, but Marcelo is an utter liability on the other side and I somehow forgot Jordi Alba existed so the plan was to get Trippier then replace Marcelo with IF Semedo. Anyone here used either of those?

Griezmann looks crap this year, and in the two hundred and odd games I've played so far I can't remember him scoring against me. I haven't encountered Nepenthez outside this thread, and didn't do Dzeko, but I've done other Rivals objectives that needed silvers and if anything I'd make the requirements more stringent. It's a special player with pretty heavily boosted stats, it should be hard to get.

Got to 100k XP last night and took the Storyline Vazquez, dubious that he could replace Dembele in my side but with each choice having the same rating it made sense to take the one I could potentially use. He's fucking sensational.

I've put a Catalyst on him because I'm using him wide and his finishing has still been terrific. With a Sniper he must have about 92 as an in game striker rating. He'd piss on most strikers if you could change his position.

Carlos is great, but annoyingly I haven't been able to get him into goal scoring positions much yet, which I love my full backs to bomb on and do.

My build up play is probably too quick, which probably also explains struggling with Dzeko.

Oh and Ozil is really good. Can actually detect a difference with his passes and his finish on his left foot is great too.

Played two games with 89 Gerrard and I quite like him. Not sure he is an 850k upgrade on Lo Celso but his passing was nice very nice, he didnt feel as clunky as I expected on the ball and once I told him to get forward he got involved and created quite a lot. I might be swayed towards taking him over Rio at this point.

Another thing about him when it comes to finishing is that his weak foot feels much better than 2 star.

Lucas Vazquez is the star performer for me of any player to date. 16 games, 25 goals and 13 assists. The man is awesome and H/L workrates in attackers are immense.

All this talk about Vazquez is almost making me want to take him, but after completing the Scream Jesus Navas, he just wouldn't fit for me. Tolisso is still my choice, only 8k short now on XP so shouldn't be long.

I struggled over Weekend League but managed to scrape 11 wins, ending 11-10 using the team below.

Osimhen was amazing, getting over 20 goals and 10 assists, and Rodrigo and Sarabia also hit double figures. I had a lot of high scoring matches, in part due to all of the back 4 having a high attacking work rate. Sanson was also unbelievably good. For a regular 79 non-rare gold, his stats are so well rounded and he has 4 star skills and 4 star weak foot. I thought I'd be subbing him off early for Ndombele or Florenzi in most of my games, but he had a big impact and I would only take him off later on for fresh legs.

Took 83 Vida as my red pick (who actually looks like a really good CB, shame about his league/nation), and then packed a big load of nothing, a few mediocre 83s like Diego Costa, Borja Iglesias, Kruse.

Until my last pack, where out walks Scream Dele Alli. Untradeable but he looks great, well rounded, and is worth 215k so I'm chuffed with that. After that pull, I'm leaning towards running a Prem side for this weekend.

I've not yet been tempted by this years offering but I've been following along and from what I hear, it is slowly devolving back to the state of last years park the bus, quick counters style.

Though I paid more attention given the recent scandal against some of the streamers. Turns out you have Discords set up purely in aid of the top players avoiding each other(I'd long since thought such a thing existed, though it may have increased in popularity this year. The number of 30-0s has risen from 5-10 per week to dozens this year).
However there are other channels in said Discord dedicated to "stream sniping." It was uncovered over the past week or two and what they were doing was waiting for a streamer they thought was unworthy to search for a game, then have everyone willing try to match up with them to beat them. This is mainly to keep said streamer out of the top 100. There was even a pro player in there encouraging it.

It just makes a mockery of the whole thing really.

Oh and they've waited for that Kurt to qualify for their tournaments, only to come out and ban him for life. Now I think he's a bit of a dick, even just for the sake of it a lot of the time, but he does say some things that need to be said. Though banning him for life? Seems very harsh.
