Aim roughly around the square and just before I begin powering up to 3.5/4 bars I call a second man to try and pull a defender.

Always go for a low header (L1+R1) and aim goalwards. Always seem to get a head on the ball but the placement can be erratic so it's more about luck at that stage.

They've dedicated an entire section to it but the things you have to do are either unimaginative or borderline impossible. Once you do them you earn XP but you've no way of knowing how much more there is to come so can't select what you'd like to do and there'll be people who miss out on getting the level 30 reward by a few hundred XP from nearly 100,000 as a result.

The player rewards for level 30 are also crap by the time we'll be able to get them. I highly doubt an 85 Zaha would be a guaranteed starter for me in 30+ days time and I'm running a first owner game. If I was allowed to buy players with coins to use in my team there'd be absolutely no chance he would.

One thing that's happened to me a couple times is I'll have reached a level, go to click the right stick and then i'll be short on XP again somehow. It's happened twice. Mind you I'm not really going balls deep with the whole objectives thing but at some level I'm sure this is fucking fucks who are trying to get to level 30.

I've seen the EA guys getting a beating on Twitter over the weekend over content and fixes.

Last year did start off similarly if I remember right, before we got towards Christmas and you had a new SBC every day.

It's the lack of league SBC's (think we had 3 or 4, but certainly at least 2 by this stage last year) and UCL cards that's been a bit odd.

The objectives are also varying degrees of horsewank and the XP on offer makes little sense in terms of how much you get for each one. The Week 2 Gold objectives give far more XP than the week 1 ones? Why? And to cap it all no one has any idea how many of them you need to do to hit the max level 30. Which probably won't matter as by the time anyone does the rewards won't be that appealing. There's only one, Tolisso, that would tangibly improve my (first owner) team already and there are still 30 days of the 'season' to run.

The idea behind objectives and milestones was great, but it's been executed quite badly so far and if they muff Icons up come Friday I think a lot of people will be resigned to it not looking that promising. Not that that's an excuse to hurl abuse at Corey and whoever the other chaps are on Twitter mind, as it's hardly their fault.

Finished all of the gameplay based Week 2 Gold Objectives in 3 Rivals games and with it 2 untradeable Mega Packs for tomorrow morning. Division 9 is a joy. Need to watch my ranking though as I'm only 2 wins off Division 8 now which simply won't do. Some nice non-win based Icon objectives on Friday would be just the job.

It might just be my imagination, but Division 6 last night was fucking awful - opponents either pressuring me all the time, or dropping deep with the central midfielders intercepting everything, and first XIs with icons, Neymar, Mbappe, etc. primed to counter very quickly. Feels like some of the higher division players have deliberately dropped down for the objectives, but it just meant I was getting battered game in, game out.

Just done the Ligue 1 ones despite massive lag (hotel wifi was really good yesterday not sure what was up with it tonight) and I cam across a guy in division 8 who seemed to have an amazing corner tactic.

He scored the first 2 of his 4 corners in the game and when I tried his tactic I scored with my second.

Seems to aim it more centrally right by the player who is standing close to the keeper. If it beats the man just in front then no one else will jump for it and it results in an easy goal as you can't miss the target.

La Liga and Serie A to go for Carlos. The problem with both is that I've got 4 holes to fix with subs. Could really do with some strong CM/CDM/CAM's from both leagues in Rivals reward packs.

I don't know what's happened the past two nights, but it genuinely feels like a lot of higher division players have dropped down. Before this week, my Rivals record was 18-8-11, not stellar but fairly middling. I've since gone 0-1-6, and dropped from 980 rank to approximately 810 in Division 6. I've only completed the Premier League online objective so far.

I've scored plenty, just go to an area where someone would use a pullback pass and instead aim a lofted through ball towards the far post. If you've got an unmarked man there it's an easy goal.

The only way to score actual crosses I've found is on counters when you've broken past the defence and can whip them in for those unmarked in the box which doesn't happen all that often.

Lewandowski is completely pointless while Yussuf Poulsen remains so vastly overpowered. I started with a loan Lewa in my attempt to do the first owned Bundesliga Icon Swap objective and lost both games, with Lewandowski doing nothing and being replaced for the last ten minutes by Poulsen, who scored in both. So he started the next three and I've completed the objective, with his stats sitting at seventeen goals in five games.

At the end of the game, it announces there was a problem communicating with the UT servers and kicks me out.
