Benzema isn't as good as I hoped overall. His finishing is on another level entirely, but he feels a little sluggish in possession and even with his high pace stats he still seems to be towing a caravan at times. Get him in possession within about twenty five yards and it's going in the top corner though.

Just jumped back on FIFA and Perisic 87 is now unuseable. He is so slow its embarassong. I know cards need to have agility and balance but he wasn't this awful when he was fresh. I read a theory that EA makes older cards worse as the game goes on. Bundesliga TOTS isnt that great at all, espeixally especially. Those german CB have little pace .

I had a tight weekend for time so I ended up playing 17 games on the trot deep into Monday morning which really screwed up my productivity yesterday. Ended up 14-10 and will have 2 picks at least on Thursday, which is perfect considering I've used Bundesliga players all year in my Weekend League squad in one way or another. It probably should have been 14-8, but I managed to waste chance after chance against a really dire opponent who stole it late with Mbappe. That was probably the fatigue kicking in at that point.

The team I used for the weekend is below. Probably the last time I use this squad considering the various TOTS upgrades that I already have in the club/on the bench, and the players I want to get this week. First on the shortlist is the 93 Witsel, who I need to complete before 6pm.

I'd also love the TOTS Werner and Kimmich. 90 Werner has been unreal over the past few months, and I could comfortably afford the TOTS, but it seems like a lot of coins to put into one position. If I don't pack Kimmich, or get him in the red picks, I will go out and buy him. The Player Moments version has been my favourite midfielder to use in the game, but I'm a little worried the work rate change could make the TOTS play differently.

With Miranda, Hulk, Leonardo and 86 Paulinho in the club, I've got the makings of a pretty fun CSL side. Hopefully the guaranteed CSL player will be a cheap SBC too.

Finished off the Mathieu objectives yesterday before expiry, and I easily completed Boga over the weekend. 4 more wins needed for Sabitzer, and then I will switch up to focus on the Joao Pedro and Martinez after that. Sabitzer would have been an amazing card for my team, but now with Müller, Witsel and Kimmich as a midfield 3 for the Bundesliga, he may miss out.

I bought tots haland and it's a shame that target men just don't work once you get to a certain playing level. Man is 6'4 with 99 strength and aggression. 90+ in both agility and balance and gold Trent can tackle him from behind while im holding L2 on a consistent basis.

Got to gold 2. Lewa was really good. He is super strong and can actually hold-up and dribble with the ball. Finished the WL with 28 goals, 12 assists from 24 games. He fits my playstyle really well. Much better than Haland. Ive sold

Rafa - Nothing special. 5/10
Grimaldo - Good. Fast and seem to win his fair share of tackles 7/10
Hummels - despite the lack of pace, he really is a good card. 8/10
Gnabry - disappointing. Didn't seem that fast or agile enough to make a difference. 4/10
Muller - Solid. Could get more out of his position. 7/10
Lewa - pure beast 10/10

I got good prices on all those cards so I haven't lost anything. Im sitting on 4.5m now and no idea what to do with it.

I want to test more of the HiGh/High central midfielders on getting forward. Henderson looks good but that does that new Radja and Renato cards

Will switch to 4-2-3-1 in game, which does mean either Ziyech or Müller sitting deeper, but it shouldn't be an issue. Might possibly upgrade to the 96 Ziyech, and also thinking about getting TOTSSF Gnabry for LW. The 5* weak foot for Bellarabi is a huge plus however.

Something like the 4-2-2-2 is the best bet. You can sort of box Ziyech in as left CAM. by using VDB upfront to start. He would still need a link but Dutch is much better than Morocco!

This weekend I think was genuinely the worst edition of Weekend League I've experienced in the past 2 years.

Notwithstanding my connection issues (I played half with my shitty WiFi, and half tethered to the phone), but I've never dominated so many games with possession and shots only to lose to late goals on the counter. All I wanted was 11 wins, and I ended up awake past 4am this morning desperately trying to get the 11th. I lost on penalties, and twice to 120th minute goals, all games that just lasted an age for no reward. The final win was thankfully a very satisfying comeback - 3-0 down at half time, and I came back to win 5-4 thanks to a Werner hat trick and last minute winner. Even got a congrats message from the guy I'd beaten, so some semblance of decency in the community there.

Shattered now, and it will most definitely not be worth it when I get a terrible 88 rated red pick on Thursday.

I've just realised the objectives for the TOTSSF Martinez expire at 6pm. I won't be home from work before then and I still need 3 wins with finesse goals from Argentinian midfielders to get him done. That'll be only the 3rd objective player in all of FIFA that I haven't got. Completed Golovin over the weekend and will work on Joao Pedro this week.

I thought the same for the 4-2-3-1 in general, my wide CAMs have never made much of an impact.

Until I used Promes this week - the guy is fucking lightning. He can break clear of 99% of defenders and score from outrageous positions around the corner of the penalty area. I would definitely recommend him if you can afford it.

Picked this up on Friday to give a go at grinding TOTS whilst off work for a week. I'd previously finished the basic SBC's and two whole games of rivals placements in the ten hour trial, but otherwise pretty much starting from scratch. Packed TOTS Verratti early on via the Marquee Matchups along with TOTS Andre, which along with MOTM Havertz got me £125 total, and allowed me to start BPM'ing yesterday. I'm up to 900 players in the club now, and just completed the Hybrid Nations SBCs, packing Renato Sanches TOTS (450k+) and TOTS Ricuarte (40kish), so I'm pretty happy with progress so far. Might play some games soon.

I can't get along with 4-2-3-1 - as you say I just find the L/R CAMs don't really get involved. Prefer 4-1-2-1-2 as then they tend to cover the flanks better and you have more control over the types of runs they make.

Ligue 1 CB looks alright, will finish that off at some point soon. Makes me wish I'd got Miranda a while back.

Planning to use Sanches and the untradeable Andre along with the Ligue 1 league SBC Gabriel, and have already done the Payet SBC with largely untradeable stocks and have bought Kamara for LB. I’m about 300k short of finishing the team off with Ohsimen up front, and bringing in the Argentine league right side of the team, but it’s looking good for a competitive team by the end of the week if I keep pulling these TOTS.

I did the LATAM/MLS SBC and got myself the 89 rated Paraguayan RB from Portland Timbers. His stats look insane but there's no way I fit him in to a team, and Zanetti still has that spot locked down. Will probably chuck him back into the Ligue 1 SBC today.

Aouar's TOTS last year was utterly insane, and his 87 Storyline is still good this year, so I'd be well chuffed with that pull Raoul.

Tried to do both Gueye and Pedro together but I was just way too tired last night. I've got 3 more wins to get for both, but also need to score in 2 games with a Senegalese player and do the PL through balls. Rivals are much harder than FC. In FC, it takes about 10 games before I matchup against hard people consistently. I get those matchups as soon as I load up rivals

Well, after one week of playing 3 or 4 games a day and BPMing, I have the below team to show for it, along with 1500 high rated and league SBC golds and silvers and 45k in coins. I was worried it wouldn’t be viable this year, but it’s worked out well.

Kamara (Bronze upgrade), Andre (silver upgrade), Pabon (Mexican SBC), Payet (SBC) and Gabriel (L1 SBC) all untradeable, which does present some issues, but they’ve been great value. Payet and Kamara are absolute beasts down the left, the former scoring finesses off his right foot easily.

Having difficulty getting into Fut Champs though. I placed in D9 rivals after losing all 5 games, coming up against loads of red cards whilst I rocked my initial standard gold team with a loan Aubameyang as the sole 80+. Since hitting rivals, I’m 50-50, spanking any ‘genuine’ D9 players but then narrowly losing to the myriad red card and icon laiden teams that have clearly relegated to get objectives - I’m playing against TOTS Mbappe far too regularly for them to be genuine D9 players. Wins are getting me just 25 qualification points, so I’m sat on 400 right now, with a lot of work to do and not much time on my hands with the telly given the missus isn’t working and staying up late as a result. It’ll be a fortnight until I get a chance to qualify I should think, but I’ll see what I can do.

Game 28 was a tight affair, 1-1 going into the final quarter of an hour. One of his subs breaks through in behind, curls in a 2nd and as I send the house, he wraps it up in the final minute. 3-1 loss, and I need 2 wins from 2.

Game 29 - as luck would have it, I'm matched with someone giving away wins. A quick win and it leaves me 16-13, all on the last game of Weekend League.

I was 3-0 down inside 15 minutes and chasing the game. Dragged it back to 4-3 down with 10 minutes to go and he controlled possession well to pull me out of position and tucked in the 5th. That was game over.

In investigating whether there was a way I could squeeze Ziyech into my team I've noticed there are a few too many shit hot Moroccan players in the game now. Hakimi's work rates make him unusable for me, but you could put together a pretty mental front six for peanuts. I'll definitely be picking up Idrissi at the very least.

I can't understand the hate for Undav by the way. Yeah he has some flaws but it's a fun card to try out, and 90k is pocket change in June. With a sniper on, he's basically a better rounded Prime Moments Ian Rush thanks to that 5* weak foot.
