I've piled on Croatia outright at 8/1. They are the best side in that half of the draw by a street.
Glad I'm not the only one who's done that.
What Ronaldo turn up now and do them over.

If they get to the final vs Germany/France what will they be, 2/1? Still seems a trifle short for a team with no track record of winning anything.
Germany are the team they'd certainly lose to but if they get to the final I'll don my Croatia circa 2006 shirt and take my chances. It's a one off game.
Modric is probably out for the tournament now :moop:

I mean the 8/1 is short given that's what they'd be in the event of a final appearance. Lots of bridges to cross yet.

I think turning Spain over from a goal behind is a massive psychological victory. They have the quality to do it.

Hazard lifting the trophy
I'd choose Wales, Bale's stupid monkey face and Ramsey's hate-crime of a haircut over Belgium but I don't feel good about it. I'd love Northern Ireland to find a way to the final but they won't, I'd fucking love it if they turfed the Welsh out though.

I know hypotheticals in these situations are meaningless but if you took away just 3 goals from the last set of games (from Albania, Ireland and Portugal) then someone would have qualified with 2 points. One day that's going to happen if they don't change this format.

Wait, is this the first time Ireland have faced France since Thierry Henry bought them a new stadium?
The atmosphere at the Ireland Italy game was class. Big respect for the republic fans.
Unfortunately Ireland are gash and Italy were awful. Zaza is a horrible player and if sirigu is the genuine second goalkeeper for Italy they better hope Buffon doesn't retire until Donnarumma hits puberty.
Means my next games are:
Germany v Slovakia
Croatia v Portugal
Spain v Italy
QF - likely Croatia vs Poland
Italy better be much better than tonight.

We should get an NCAA-style bracket going.
That has to be one of the worst brackets imaginable. None of those eight teams belongs in a final.

Spain, Italy and Croatia have looked liked the best sides by quite a bit for me. Can see Italy knocking Spain out next round, if not then Spain have to be big favourites.
France can't talent brute-force their way through the whole thing.
Germany don't have a striker.
England will do England things unless Alli or Rashford or someone end up actually doing something mercurial.
Belgium's manager is out of his depth.
Croatia are the best side on performances yet, please win.
Portugal have some potential going by the second half against Hungary. Just lob it at Ronnie, mates.
If you're a Welsh, Northern Irish or Hungarian football fan then you really couldnt imagine a much easier knockout bracket. Wonder why this never happens to England.

Germany have a striker named Mario Gomez. He was quite good against Northern Ireland.
Winner of Italy-Spain goes to the final.
As if I hadn't been supporting Iceland enough ('mon Gylfi lad) they now face England? :D Come on you Icelandic beauties!
Sigurdsson has to score.

Spain are going to piss on Italy's chips, big time.

Can see Portugal dashing everyone's Croatia-based dreams (including mine) and going on to lose the final tamely.

Protestant powerhouses at the top, focusing on individuality and determination to beat the next man. Catholic and Muslim layabouts at the bottom resorting to so-called 'teamwork'.

What the fuck is a 'successful dribble'?

By the way most of those are probably Raheem Sterling SUCCESSFULLY BEATING his man only to run it out of play.
