The latter is what most vegans would tell you, I've never quite got it. If I'm at a dinner table and my host has made something involving meat then I'm probably going to have some, there's no net change. I suppose making a song and dance about not eating it is half the point.

Telling people they shouldn't be eating meat (if that's what James is doing) when he actually, you know, eats meat, is not a way to go about things. Take Lewis Hamilton as the prime and extreme example. He has a carbon footprint that I'd struggle to emulate if I discovered the power of eternal youth, and yet, there he is, telling people they're fucking the environment up.

It's bullshit of the highest order.

You are right. I would really like to go vegan but I don't think I'll ever be able to disable the part of my brain that wants that bit of cheesecake.

If I raped and killed one woman am I a better person than someone that raped and killed 100 women? I don't think so.

It depends on why he stopped i.e because that's it satisfied or because he got caught.

    Back to the cow.

An incident in which an escaped cow was hit by a police vehicle is now being investigated as a criminal matter, police say.

The cow, named Beau Lucy, was struck in Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey, at about 00:30 BST on 15 June and is still recovering, Surrey Police said.

The force said as part of its investigation it had made 290 house-to-house visits, handed out 210 leaflets along the route the cow took, spoken to 75 witnesses and received more than 250 video clips.
    IT'S A COW. WHO CARES.

I'm sure someone will be along shortly to contrast police spending on that matter with the latest yoof to have been stabbed.

A 40-year-old man has been charged with murder following an assault outside a pub.

A man in his 30s died in hospital on Sunday evening after paramedics were called to an address in Dereham, Norfolk at about 05:00 BST.

Police later established a serious assault had taken place outside the Red Lion pub in Dereham on Saturday evening.

On Thursday, Tyrone Busch of St Withburga Lane, Dereham, was charged with murder and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates' Court.

The provisional cause of death was given as a traumatic head injury following a Home Office post-mortem examination.

Mr Busch has been remanded in custody ahead of his court appearance on Friday.

The trousers feature a reinforced knee and a grow hem, handy features for childrenswear. However when the two details were put side-by-side in the listing's title, it spelled out a phrase used by racists online.

What sort of jobs do these people do that they think listing a pair of trousers online involves a 'decision-making process'?

Presumably they've just changed it to grow hem, reinforced knee.

It was probably a marketing ploy.

I now know about the features of their trousers, and I wouldn't have without this.

You've got to be quite a brave pillock to be attacking coppers in an airport. There's usually a small cadre of them with machine guns around every corner.

They were proper game with the cops, not sure what they thought the out game there was considering they're in an airport. Still doesn't justify stamping on someone's head.

Again, the fella was down. Stomping on him isn't smart. The job was done. Still, don't fuck with coppers at an airport. You've got a place to be. You're not going anywhere if you're windmilling at a person in uniform.

Does my head in when people comment on “street fight” videos (I watch a lot on Reddit and other places) condemning the headstomp/facekick after knocking someone down, as if there are some gentlemanly rules to fist fighting. If you’re angry enough to be fighting, you’re angry enough to try and give someone brain damage, let’s be honest.

Police officers should probably have more discipline, mind.

The police in this country are taken for mugs. They're a massive soft touch and put all their effort into dancing at carnivals and tackling mental health, only to be constantly accused of racism, sexism and all the other-ism's by their own management. And they do so for less than I earn.

Frankly, I think we could do with a great deal more police brutality. Especially when it comes to scumbags like this. Fuck 'em.

This is a completely insane take

You can easily kill someone kicking/stamping on their head like the police officer in this case did.

You are essentially saying you are perfectly happy with the police taking the decision to execute someone.or give them lifechanging injuries based on a heat of the moment decision as to whether said person breaches their "scumbag" threshold.

Just in busy public places with 100 people filming? Or happy for them to have the same powers in someone's own home with only their word that the person assaulted them first? What line does someone have to cross for the police to have carte blanche to employ lethal force? If 80 year old Maude hits a copper with her handbag, can they tombstone her to death through her coffee table?

Police wear body cameras for a reason.

To be clear, I'm not arguing for police brutality to be a power they're handed. Rather, that when dealing with people like these, there be an acceptance that an officer may overstep the mark in response to having just been assaulted. And in instances like that, the officer should be given the benefit of the doubt. Because, you know, fuck 'em.

Should he have kicked him when he was tasered and restrained, then tried to stamp on his head? Absolutely not.

Should one of them just immediately used deadly force the minute they started charging about grappling with people carrying guns? Absolutely, and it would have been justified (the weak as piss justification used in the aftermath of all this anyway)

I don't think anyone would be able to argue much with 'resisted/attacked armed police officers > shot and killed by armed police officers', play with feathers get your arse tickled and all that. Instead there's been a fuck around with tasers, the main geezer has forgot he isn't in afghan slotting farmers and half the internet is crying.

If anything that's the most concerning aspect to me, these clowns just thought they were somehow Thelma and Louising it out of there, the implied threat of armed officers did nothing and they were obviously confident they were never getting shot. Good job they weren't terrorists who actually wanted their guns. Needs an immediate policy review as the current policy is armed police can't use their guns unless it's an obvious terrorist attack based on that footage, seems a bit exploitable.
