You're Man Utd, you ruined all our childhoods, you get no leeway on anything ever.

Are United's 3 first choice centre halves Liz, Andro and Martinez?
Pissing about having to play 4th, 5th and 6th choice CBs but Roscoe Arbuckle is happy to make judgements of how Utd are flying and Liverpool are finished when we're playing 9th and 10th choice CBs for a season. Talk to me about lol.
Everyone going on about injuries whilst giving United absolutely no leeway for having to play their 4th, 5th and 6th choice centre backs for the entire season so far is lol.
United could have prime Neville, Ferdinand, Vidic and Robertson the back and they’d still have that milkman letting goals in

This is the correct sentiment.

Ancelotti has signed a new contract at Madrid til 2026.
He had also verbally agreed to take over Brazil at the end of this season, so I'm sure that's going to go down well.

I love the Jonny Evans comeback, and I hope he wins Player of the Year like when Ryan Giggs sentimentally burgled it off Nemanja Vidic.
Turkish Super Cup between Gala and Fener was going to be hosted in Riyadh like the money-hungry fucks they are and instead they weren't allowed to train in t-shirts bearing tbe face of Ataturk (100 year anniversary of republic) so they've had to call it off and return home :D

Sounds like all is not well on the Tyne. If twitter is to be believed at least.

Won't someone think of the narratives :(

I don't know why I'm putting myself through Luton away. Team is genuinely appalling. We're up against a man with a fresh quiff in a grey puffer jacket. It's not going to end well.
That XI really is something. The subs will win it.

Thank god for FFP incentivising City to sell us Palmer. Magnificent player.

Madueke making Pochettino looking like a right fanny. Benched all year and is now on course to save his job for a few months

Watching Colwill get worse and worse every game being ruined at left back is breaking my heart
Gallagher is just a worse version of mason mount isn’t he?
I guess nkunku is on the bench so he doesn’t get injured on this pitch, which is actually quite smart. It looks a bit treacherous compared to typical premier league pitches.

Yeah. He’s really good. A lot of the younger/cheaper players look good. There’s just too many of them and not enough experience.
Palmer is the boy

Offside, get on with it.

Nothing would surprise me less than Luton scoring another 2 here. Chelsea just letting them cross as much as they want

Looks like the key to playing a Chelsea is left footed left wingers and right footed right wingers and wang a load a crosses in.
Thank god for FFP incentivising City to sell us Palmer. Magnificent player.Yeah he’s too good for Chelsea.
That Sheff Utd XI is threatening a real hammering today.

I'd very much like to see what Klopp could get out of an Eze or Olise.
Waffdon
30-12-2023, 04:43 PM
Olise is delightful. I can see him going to Man City unfortunately and being Jack Grealish’d
Gray Fox
30-12-2023, 04:45 PM
We're approaching that prime window of Salah still being able to command a significant fee(I personally wouldn't sell) but it perhaps being the time he moved on. Olise would be one I'm sure would be looked at to replace him.
Olise's personality wouldn't pass our filters (and possibly even the more questionable ones of City and other top clubs). Would be a nice statement signing for a Utd or Newcastle.

Raith Rovers were playing Arbroath and were 2-0 up at home. Arbroath brought on their sub goalkeeper to play up front and he scored a half volley from 30 yards. Ended up coming back to draw 2-2.

I didn't realise United were that poo at scoring goals. I thought throwing them in was the problem.
Antony legitimately reaching prime Ronaldinho levels of inciting excitement in the viewer everytime he gets the ball.
Surprising that this is still 0-0 considering the pace and variety of the attack.
Lewis
30-12-2023, 06:32 PM
They should give him a go on the left just throwing crosses in like Antonio Valencia. Whatever he is doing now isn't much use.

We're so bad.
Surprising that a midfielder scores on the edge of the box where a midfielder like McTomminay should be picking them up.

Surprising that the centre midfielder wasn't picking up Gibbs White. Can't work out why that is.

I'm still unsure what playstyle or formation he was attempting to pull off today.

Watching Odegaard against a team defending deep is quite funny. He’s so one footed and makes it obvious what he’s going to do

Nearly as baffling as the 10 minutes in the Forest-Man Utd game last night.

Substitutions count towards added time no?
Nobody really wants to win the league this season it seems like.
Spurs fluking their way to such heights is mad with that defence, if they can get another vdV or him back fit, they could kick on in 2nd half. Less said about Arsenal the better, geezers spent how much on complete non-entities yet are still relying on Nketiah, Nelson, etc, gtf back to irrelevance.

Why were there two games at the same time today? Paired with no New Years Day round of fixtures it feels like they've really fucked the Christmas football schedule this year.
A late game today would piss off the fans as they might struggle to get home and back out for the fabled NYE festivities.
Not having a full round on NYD I imagine is because it’s on a Monday and Sky/TNT just cannot go without their usual Saturday-Sunday lineups, especially with Amazon snagging the best day (Boxing Day).
niko_cee
31-12-2023, 04:58 PM
Yeah, I thought that, but then 3 of the 4 teams playing were London based and the other one is a manageable train ride away.
And New Year's Eve is shit, natch.
Shame the leap year is coming to ruin what would be the perfect football set-up [Christmas on a Tuesday] next year. There should be a rule against staggering the Boxing Day games over more than 2 days as it fucks everything else. Brighton are playing 3 games over the course of what feels like forever, when you'd quite often be getting 4 in during this pre-Christmas to New Year period.
Waffdon
31-12-2023, 05:01 PM
Yep. 21st, 28th and 2nd for Brighton whereas other teams have 3 games in 6 or 7 days. Dumb as fuck.
Boxing Day is still great but peaked about 10 years ago I’d say (all 10 games played on the day but online streaming was a thing so you could watch them all). It’s only going to get worse with the next TV deal probably; being able to televise every non-Saturday 3pm game will mean we will never get more than four on Boxing Day again.
Waffdon
31-12-2023, 05:03 PM
Still get all the lower leagues on Boxing Day and NY Day which is all that matters

Wait, why is it better to have all ten games available to watch on the same day Vs staggering them? Unless they have the first game kick-off at like 6am. If you are talking about watching more than one game at the same time you're fucked in the head.

Sky get some mileage out of that 4-3 game.

I spend the full day in the boozer which has multiple TVs. It created a great atmosphere.

God forbid the consumer ever be able to go 12 hours without barclays soccer. Massive risk of the customer defecting to La Liga or online gaming which put the customer first.
