You were the only ones muggy enough to pay £80m for Sancho, if you'd not done so, they would have sold Bellend for a similar fee to keep themselves afloat. Dortmund or the player aren't in a position to reject rapist money.

I know it's early days, but AFC Wimbledon and MK Dons in the playoff positions in League One. Would like to make a formal request to the fates to make that happen.

Real chance of Derby and Forest both going down too. If Sunderland blow their promotion chances that could become a real elephant's graveyard with Sheff Wednesday and Ipswich already there too.

Also, Fabinho is probably the best holding midfielder in the world by now, with Kante a very, very close second. And the PA guy at Man City needs a shovel to the head for that "go..go...go...goal for Gabriel Heyzuz". Twat.

I had the lester game on and have decided (after Daka's goal which was ruled out) all forms of VAR/screen refereeing need to go. 'The right decision' simply does not matter. If the ref doesn't give it your way, tough balls.

Yevrah

Let me guess. Very minor infringement in the build up somewhere that should never be enough to see a goal chalked off?

Jimmy Floyd
16-09-2021, 09:54 PM
It was offside by about, I dunno, an inch, two inches. Not flagged by the linesman, goal given. Patson Daka's first goal for the club, on his first start. Sprints over to the corner flag and does what was actually quite a cool celebration which we may see a few more times. Is visibly delighted, as are his team mates for him. Crowd go mental for him, to 'scenes' level. Napoli trudge away, now 2-0 down. Everyone goes back to the centre circle for kick off. Chants of 'Who are ya, who are ya' reverberate around the Gary 'Crisps' Lineker Arena. TV replay kicks in, it looks level or marginally off. Robbie Savage says it's onside. Ref shown with his whistle on his lips and doesn't allow kickoff to be taken. 20 seconds or so pass. Someone tells him it's offside. He blows, does the TV signal and runs back the full 60 yards to give a free kick back on the goal line.

The right decision does not matter.

Isn't there a bit of a grey area between taking it quickly, and wanting the opposition back the required 10 or whatever it is? In the latter situation, you have to wait for the ref to enforce it, so if you want a quick one you aren't entitled to have them the full 10 back? I appreciate that probably doesn't extend to actively blocking a quick one, but you are sort of entitled to stand in front of it until the ref tells you to bugger off. In the back 10 situation I also thought the ref had to blow his whistle, but sometimes they give the taker a sneaky glance to let them try to catch the opposition off guard.

I get you, but as soon as the free-kick is awarded, the players really should have to start backing off. Nowadays they don't because they know they will get away with it, until the ref comes up and points to his whistle.

Why are you sort of entitled to stand in front of it? Like Mr Riise says, as soon as the freekick is awarded they should back off. The only reason not to is that you're trying to cheat.

niko_cee
18-09-2021, 03:25 PM
The laws of the game don't require you to run away from the ball as soon as it is given, in the same way they don't require you to actively give the opposition the ball back if it should be their possession for whatever reason.

If you actively do something to hinder the other team - throw/kick the ball away, or move to block a quickly taken freekick then I can see that being unsportsmanlike and worthy of a caution - but if your 'professional' behaviour is more passive - running away with the ball a bit before throwing it back or dropping it, standing over the ball after a freekick is given - then I'm not so sure.

On free kicks I would argue that you are entitled to stand in front of it until the ref marks the yards so you know where to stand. Obviously it's gamesmanship to give your team time to form up, if a player didn't do it and the opposition took a quick one and scored they would be crucified.

Thankfully I don't head up recruitment for any football clubs. The person who assigns the values in any case is someone who follows the league a lot more closely than I. There is probably bias in there, sure, but it still boils down a large amount of data into something that can be digested quickly.

I’m not denying the argument I’m just saying that these weirdos have brain worms and need to fuel them.

I seen it. They took his stats from when he played for City or something. 50 tackles made in his career apparently:D

Lol I had no idea RL’s whole hissy fit about Juventus was based on James saying that a team who had won the league every year since 2012 and got to the final of the Champions League twice in three years before they signed Ronaldo Probably won’t be largely affected by the transfer.

This is why relying on Reddit fans for opinion is dumb. Everyone’s got brain worms.
Call Ronny a rapist and watch what RL does. It's brilliant.

Just seen this business with online utd mongs taking a strong stance on Juve/Allegri is a trending topic. I thought at least this was one thing our lad had managed to cook up himself but alas :(
