One of those on the beach games that they could run up a huge score in.

niko_cee
26-07-2020, 02:50 PM
Doubt it, one of those games where it's too obvious, although, that said, nothing would bespeak more of a Guardiola side than giving an already relegated team a good shoeing in a meaningless match.

Lots of internet Villains seem to think this is Grealish's farewell, even if they stay up. Is that likely to be true?

Is that not a complete given at this stage?

If Villa weren't already a banker today, I've put West Ham into my accumulator, to ensure Watford's doom.

Have that, Deeney.

The first thought of every United player when they get the ball in the box is how can I go down in this situation.

Maybe not Greenwood, he tends to like to shoot.

It's Relegation and European Super Sunday for them.

They don't care about dead rubber games.

It's Relegation and European Super Sunday for them.

They can at least pop up with a SCORE UPDATE in those games.

And the games they do care about, they show goals about 5 minutes after they happen.

'Fernandes is unbelievable'
Leicester 0-1 Man Utd

Karen Carney

Former England and Chelsea winger on Final Score

Bruno Fernandes is unbelievable, a joy to watch. Manchester United have had pace up top but what he's done is bring in the precision and the calmnness and the ability to find a pass - and that penalty, just the composure, he was never, ever going to miss.

This is why they need to stay barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen.

Sir Andy Mahowry

Tremendous effort by Wes Morgan.

Lewis

Stonewaller though. No fucking about on this one.

I'm not convinced VAR would give it if it isn't given on the pitch, much as I doubt it would have overturned the Iheanacho one in the first half had it been given, even though both decisions in that counter-factual would have been wrong. The curse of the 'obvious error'.

Sheffield was denied an obvious (winning) goal against Vila because the goal-line technology was turned off in the first game after the restart, iirc.

MBE: 1 measly point

ITV4 showing the Istanbul final in full, obviously chuffed with the results of their Euros experiment.

It will forever baffle me that Liverpool won that, the Milan team was outrageous.

And the Liverpool side, in contrast, was probably one of the worst player-for-player sides to ever line up in a final. Maybe that's harsh. It was a total mismatch though.

It was crimous Biscan never got an appearance in that final, considering his contributions in the earlier knock-out games. Starting Kewell remains one of the great bad managerial decisions, although getting the chance to boo him from the pitch and hopefully forever tarnish his memories of the occasion was somewhat cathartic. Probably not though. I bet he dines out on it, the twat.

A cute little clash between west London's third and fourth biggest clubs for the glittering prize of a single top flight year with no crowds, I for one cannot wait.

Don
29-07-2020, 10:53 PM
Mate, you know better about the Brentford story than to utter such nonsense. They've been printing money with their talent scouting for last 5+ years, imagine what they'll do with prem football as a bonus. Stats will always prevail. New stadium from next season too which is a shame as Griffin Park is the one of the last of the greats.

Jimmy Floyd
29-07-2020, 10:59 PM
Stats only prevail if the competition isn't also doing stats, which at top flight level they will be. Their little gems from the Danish Cup quarter-finals might be able to moneyball their way past Lewis Grabban and Neil Warnock's local DPD driver, but when it comes to Kia/Mendes dons on £150k a week there's no similar hidden talent that can scale up.

Brighton, god bless them, have been trying to do the same thing for several seasons and yeah, gutting Heerenveen's midfield doesn't cut it in this day and age.

Don
29-07-2020, 11:11 PM
Actually, Brighton staying up for the past few seasons with their peculiar collection of useless dullards is yet more evidence. I mean Newcastle are down if Mbappe doesn't happen and Brentford are better than the other two sides coming up, even if Palace and Villa sort themselves out (unlikely).

What goals there are will be scored by Chelsea.

Fancy a wager?

The above is about 7/2 on Betfair, so if you can beat that then yes.

Having Scottish Football starting up again on FA Cup final day is kinda disgusting.

You would kinda expect Ian to make a season preview or something about it tomorrow.

Chelsea have managed one clean sheet against Arsenal in the last seven meetings.

Another question is do Arsenal actually want to win it, or would they rather have a nice cosy domestic run in a Covid affected next season.

Europa League is their best route into the Champions League next season in all likelihood (and that seems to be the be all and end all of modern football) so I'd say yeah, even away from the fact that of course they'd want to win a trophy.

Arsenal don't have a pot to piss in, especially after doing a daft installment deal for Pepe so need to win it. Also the B rated talents want Europa league football minimum, because we won't be paying United wages.

I can't see Arsenal winning at all. The last final performance vs a fat out of shape Hazard was embarrassing.

True but I couldn't see Arsenal winning against City or Liverpool either.

The world of football could do without Super Frankie Binman taking down the FA Cup in his second year of management.

Would become just the second binman to win the famous old trophy after Roberto Di Matteo in 2012.

We're all supporting Le Arse, let's be clear.

In theory that Arsenal front three should be lethal against Chelsea. Shame Lacazette and Pepe haven’t lived to the hype.
