Fuck me. :face:
I did call it earlier. Herrera and Moreno are suspended. Still, we should play Diego Reyes in both defense and midfield.
EDIT: Wait, Herrera isn't suspended. I thought he was.
EDIT2: Playing Marquez over Layun. :face:

Has anyone else been getting periods where the signal goes shit on the ITV games the last two days? It was happening yesterday but I just assumed it was a temporary thing but it's happening again today.
Not happening on any other channels apart from ITV HD and normal ITV during the games. This is through a sky box.

Are you getting some short freezes as well as short periods where it seems to slow down for a second or two? If so, then it might be a more widespread issue, it's been happening on the Austrian broadcast as well.

Brazil are just solid all over. Belgium could strike gold with Casemiro being banned though.
Fernandinho is a decent replacement.
The Germany win clouds everything, but this was the worst squad we've had in twenty years. Ochoa is ace, but the defense was a complete bombscare throughout. The midfield is not good enough defending or attacking, they are just three bang average nothing players. Lozano is skilled and should do well in a good team. Chicharito is ok. Vela should have never been selected after he refused to play for the national team whenever that was (ten years ago?)
Round of 16, right where we belong.
Brazil will be hard to beat.
If we're still on the media England bandwagon then it's probably going to be an England-Brazil final?
Getting France would be ideal surely?

Layun would've been off had it not been for Neymar going overboard. That's the problem you present when you go down like that for everything.
If you get a haircut for a specific game and get knocked out, I guess you'd want to avoid repeating it so as not to be reminded of the day. So at least they chose haircuts you'd be quite happy to never repeat.
Missed the France game unfortunately but if you took them out of the equation I'd be very confident saying Brazil will win it.

They had come up with a surprisingly effective gameplan up to that point. Also, England don't have Fellaini, so who knows how that one might have played out. :baz:
EDIT: By up to that point, I actually meant until the 1-2. But they did regain some surprising composure after the equalizer.
It was excellent locally. I wish I could have stayed longer it was that good.
There's been a very surprising lack of trouble. Every other tournament I can remember has had some level of fan violence but there's been almost nothing at this one. That gay fan getting a pasting is the only thing that comes to mind, and as horrible as that is one incident is decent going.

i've watched a few "stories" about the russian ultras and how they're all basically dying for the WC to be over so the police back off of them or something. I guess they've been cracking down pretty hard before the tournament on folks.
Highest ticket sale outside of Russia was to the yanks. Dan Walker said 900k tickets were to Russians. Lots of south Americans and North africans made the trip, barely any Europeans.

They surprised me actually, had a few decent players there other than the obvious ones.
Essentially though they just didn't have the nous to hold on to the win or take it into extra time. They'd have beaten a few of the other teams in the last 16.
As for resting players, how can you be so sure? They where full of energy in the last minute of a game played in 30 degree heat. Who knows if KdB would have been able to travel with the ball that far or if Lukaku would have had the legs to get up there and then the thought process to pull the defenders away.

They're in a police state where the government is both funding and supporting the sort of groups that create the trouble you're talking about. Where's the surprise?
This is a country where very important people seem to routinely fall off their balconies and you're surprised there's been no police reports of trouble?
