I haven't made a tactic since 2012 or something but I'm thinking of doing one and going for a mental approach.
Tired of using these community ones only to see so many goals conceded because my defenders are sliding around like retards and my goalkeeper constantly grabbing air.
Going toe to toe and seeing who scores most would be so much fun.

So had to wheel and deal a little but I got my two main targets in, Dier, and the transfer listed Imbula. I needed a rotational roaming playmaker and he fit the bill despite being injured for a month. Bar those two, its all future youth although Kuki will get some game time this season:
https://i.gyazo.com/8200b53900c654070577ab1cf42125ee.png
Colback had a year left on his contract and was meh, Anita another who was distinctly average, and Dolberg, who was solid, kept getting niggling injuries so never really improved:

That leaves this as my strongest line-up, plus main sub 7:

Yeah every nation as at 200 youth rating :D
There's no beasts yet but I've got a few in my first team. However, game just crashed two days before auto save and I've now lost my entire summer business :(
That screenshot will make it easier, thank fuck.
I haven't made a tactic since 2012
It's interesting to see people playing the game quite differently, for example I basically never download tactics, I just don't find it fun to win like that. I research a bit on websites to see some things all relevant good online tactics have in common, to use as a guideline, but making my own tactics is one of the main sources of enjoyment from the game for me.
Maybe that's why I'm often not that great at the game, I have to spend a bit of time with trial and error of my own tactics.

Valerio Verre was an absolute hero on a previous version of this. Might have been somewhere around 10, I think.
Bought and installed this last night but went to bed before turning it on. Going to open up with a Rangers game now but I know I'll have started my youth game within a season. Any suggestions on where I should go for that one? Ideally it'll be a nation with an excellent youth rating and a shitty league, but I'm open to anywhere.
Just about settled on OFK Beograd in Serbia as my project game. I didn't really want to go back to Eastern Europe but there are just too many good stories. They're the oldest club in Serbia and one of six Serbian clubs ever to have won something, but the last time they did so the universe immediately rewarded us with the start of World War Two. They were relegated last season despite initially finishing thirteenth, thanks to a gloriously convoluted 'split' system, where all points totals are cut in half before the end of the season. They're also a club built from the ground up to facilitate youth, and there's the added bonus of eventually breaking the Partizan/Red Star duopoly.
And their nickname is 'The Romantics', which is lovely.

Thought this was a decent touch.
The pre contract 'promises' seem to be borked though. The agent will suggest something like 'we want a pay rise and to be played in the correct position', if I try adding something like 'we will try and finish in europe next season' (I'm Leipzig and just finished 14th) then they start getting angry and immediately pull the plug on the deal.

Think it comes down to manager stats as I remove all promises bar 'will send on an intensive language course' and the only agent who has kicked off is a 16yo regen's agent.
We're underway with OFK Beograd.
We play in this Cold War film establishing shot.

The wage budget is £2.6k a week, of which I'm taking home four hundred quid. We have no goalkeeping coach, one normal coach, and a medical team consisting of nothing but physiotherapists. We have six hundred grand in the bank but I've hit continue once and we're already running a three grand loss for the season so I suspect that money might vanish fairly quickly. Having just been relegated last season into a division containing sixteen teams, roughly half of which are professional, we've been handed a predicted finish of thirteenth. So we're poor, with few staff, no doctors, and apparently we're shit, the club is not in good shape.
But it turns out we're not shit, because the club starts off with what is for this level at least, a shit hot collection of young players.

All of those go straight in the first team, with Djuric, Denkovic and Gojkov in particular looking like they could become genuinely good, rather than just good for the Serbian leagues.
We'll open up the league season with games against Macva Sabac, who are predicted to finish third despite being semi pro and just having come up from the regional leagues, and BSK Borca, who embody their name well. The club predicted to win the whole thing are FK Zemun, who were promoted into this division for last season and have Nenad Lukic on loan, whose name somehow seems very familiar.
Our big rivals are FK Rad, who play in the top division so this year will be derbyless. They once played eachother on the last day of the season, with OFK Beograd scoring a last minute equaliser which meant Rad were relegated for the first time ever. By way of revenge for that, a load of Rad fans turned up outside the stadium while Beograd were playing a Europa League qualifier and started firing flares over the stands and onto the pitch. The match was abandoned with Beograd 6-1 up, but they were awarded a 3-0 defeat because of the flares. Were I appointed the actual manager of Beograd I imagine I'd get my head kicked in about once a week for lolling at that story.

Same, its a cunt formation:

I do like how the AI has adapted somewhat to my 4-3-3 so they sometimes play with three centre backs and two dms to crowd the middle.
What made you choose Super Brighton, Mike? Other than the fact that we're super.
They seem to have a good set up behind the scenes, stadium and training wise, and they're super, obvs.
In general, I've found that if the opponents play with two DMs then my team just ends up taking an absurd amount of longshots.

At a top level its vital. I play ultra attacking and my defenders, with those stats, basically average over 8 in the majority of games, with multiple MOTM. If I had an 8 composure guy who can whack a tackle and header in now and again every game would be 6-6.
Depends on how you wanna play I guess, you develop the youth to fit your team. Regens need at least a starting 8 in both for me to consider them, plus preferably concentration.

Not that I disagree with John and DS Smiff, but you're right about the lack of players with 15+ composure. You won't need it that high, but anything below 11-12 would be a worry to me at the highest level.
I never buy defenders for the first team (at the highest level) with anticipation or positioning below 15 mind.
Dark Soldier
09-11-2016, 12:45 AM
Yeah I think anticipation is the most important non 'typical' defensive attribute. They'll just cut out most over the top balls and counter attacks with solid defensive attributes to back it up. The amount of interceptions my two make that aren't basic headers or tackles is unreal.

Composure is the players steadiness of mind and ability to make intelligent decisions with and without the ball. If anything I would have thought decisions was more important.
Getting hit on the counter, two at the back, composure wins out over decisions. Staying calm, following instructions. Decisions is also valuable, but composure every time. High decision, low composure means he'll make the right choice but probably fuck it. Composure has a measure of decision in there already.
Get both and you've got Bonucci mk. (although his composure is surprisingly low, less composed than Dier ffs).

I bought him in the hope he would shore up a defence that just leaks goals like there's no tomorrow. Not even the relegated sides conceded as many as we did last season. :D
He could have 12, maybe 13 composure and around 14/15 anticipation when he hits late 20s/early 30s but for now try and partner him with someone with at the very least 15+ anticipation, and have VDV as the tough clogger who nuts balls for fun.

If I go to all known players and select CD's, of the 3504 it finds, just 29 have 15+ composure.
757 have 10+ so over 2800 are below that. It's just not an attribute I look at all that much for defenders.

The star ratings are handy to see where your squad is at a glance, but they're next to useless for actually judging how a player will perform. I suspect they're based on CA at least as much as anything going on with the actual attributes.
My best performing central midfielder at Zagreb was a two star man, and my second centre back had one and a half while he was consistently turning in 7.8 average seasons

I'm a ruthless cunt, absolute lowest I'll have in my squad for a developed player is two and a half stars current ability.
I was going youth system only on that save, so I had to stick to what I had. I learned quite a bit about how to develop players properly and when to ignore what the game is telling you about a player though, so it was an excellent save in a few ways.

Tell me more, John. I'm wanting to build an entire first eleven of my own Welshies. Thus far I've just been concentrating on boosting my facilities and recruitment in order to do that but blooding youngsters in isn't something I have a lot of experience in. I tend to just loan them out to a club in the division they're suited to and hope for the best, maybe pop in every now and then and tell them they aren't developing as much as they should be.
My major tip is only ever loan them to clubs where you are simming the league they're in. Development will be fairly consistent that way, and naturally check out each loan clubs facilities. If they're below good, reject the loan. Especially if your facilities are great, I find U18/U23 football enough to develop youngsters if you tutor them right, and bleed a few at around 18 as back-up players in your first team.
I never loan to League One/Two (if I'm a Premier League club) as fuck that bag of shite :D
EDIT: Oh and iirc star rating is only comparable to the players at your club. Example:
https://i.gyazo.com/5303fdc46594875eaffc21736d4aab8b.jpg
Clearly a top quality striker, but only 3 star, but he's compared to 4 star Vietto, Berahino, Mitrovic and the fast-developing 3 star CA Colidio. I've found if I sell a 4 star or above player some players will jump back up half a star.

I tend to just loan them out to a club in the division they're suited to and hope for the best, maybe pop in every now and then and tell them they aren't developing as much as they should be.
The big thing for me was to always assign a player to train for a specific role. If you're limited in which players you can use you have to make the most of every player's available PA, so any point your five foot winger gains in marking is basically a point wasted. It doesn't necessarily have to be the role they're playing, but pick the role which most closely matches how you want your player to develop and use the specific attribute option to boost anything it doesn't cover.
Only use the loan system if you're absolutely sure a player will get next to no football for you in a given season. I found playing one game for my side seemed to equate to playing about three or four for someone else in terms of how quickly the player would develop, so I quickly learned to keep hold of the players on the fringes of the squad and only loan out those who'd either stalled completely or who were going to spend the year outside the first team squad completely.
Always err on the side of caution when it comes to selling a youth player. When you're trying to build from youth only there's a finite number of players you can have, so you really can't afford to risk selling one who looks a bit shady now and have him turn into a top player elsewhere. I'd only sell youth players while they still had growth left if the offer was truly obscene, like fifteen million for a seventeen year old Croat right back obscene.
Ignore the star system completely. It's related to the above point, but since you can't afford to let a player go because some crap coach gave him the wrong number of stars, take the time to judge every player yourself. Take control of a few U19 games if need be. It also means you should be taking risks on youth in the first team. If you have a player who looks like he might do a servicable job but you'd usually ignore him because he only has five grey stars or half a gold star, throw him in. I did it loads of times with Zagreb and while it occasionally didn't work, it occasionally did. For example I started one season in the early going with a terrible right footed sixteen year old left back and a seventeen year old left winger with nothing but pace going for him. The left back ended up moving to Valencia for considerably more than he was worth before coming back three years later on a free and doing a great rotational job, while the left winger became a club Icon and ended up as a coach for me. Obviously you can't take that level of risk when you're in the Premiership, but the principle is good.
Basically, I spent all the time I'd normally spend looking for players, scouting them, combing Brazilian youth squads, etc. tinkering with the training for my own youths, properly evaluating every player, etc.

We've just laboured to a 1-0 win at home against a side we should have whomped and my only options were generally pleased or generally displeased. I could have just ignored them I suppose, but I'm not sure storming out of the room like a scorned fifteen year old girl and expecting them to work out what had miffed me would be the correct option.

Beograd might be over before it's begun. The entire first team squad have contracts which expire at the end of the first season, and not a single one of them is willing to even negotiate on a new deal. At the beginning of the game they have a load of youths in the first team squad, which is a positive right away, but it's because their squad from last season evidently all left. If everything goes as it likely will I'll have nineteen players on the books at the end of this season, youth intake included, and I can't buy more.

Yeah fuck that John lol.
Newcastle have just broken their transfer record twice in four days.
First up, at £33mil, was this 22yo American. Scouts have gone ballistic for him, full yellow four and a half star. Was at Monterrey and had that amount as his release clause:
https://i.gyazo.com/a1b35180270f87ab9ff9c4a9e3fc2755.jpg
Will be trained as a F9 and will be first choice back-up this coming season.
Four days later came Dele Alli. Only £28mil up front, but another £20mil in clauses. He's now my joint most prized midfielder along with Isco:
https://i.gyazo.com/1b461a0a5b1d40424f3e6ab65a10990f.jpg
And I'm desperately trying to sign this beast. £30mil release clause but he only signed his contract a month ago so won't enter terms currently, I've left enough in the bank to snap him up asap though. No other clubs interested:
https://i.gyazo.com/414719df8654fa462202b08e2299d49b.jpg
Also joining the first two is a young Romanian CB, £5.75mil. Gonna be beastly in years to come, first choice back-up:
https://i.gyazo.com/33ce5bd23d38114f94a2ee03cf64145e.jpg
And this 21yo Argie CM for £12mil, potential, and already rock solid:

Having been struggling in League 2 with Crewe lately (with a typically Crewe possession and passing tactic), I've just developed a proper long ball tactic, with a big man upfront.
Played 4, Won 4.
I've managed to rescue Beograd. A few players accepted contracts very quickly when I told my DoF to deal with it, which is annoying because it makes me feel like I've exploited a glitch but there we are. A few more softened on negotiations as the season went on, and one player actually requested a new deal, so I now have a squad I'm happy to be going on with. The board sold two players out from beneath me, my best winger and best defensive midfielder, which is a bit of a pain in the dick, but the money we got in should keep the club afloat for a while so my toys remain in the pram.
There was nothing outrageous in my first youth intake, but there were a couple of players who I suspect will get on very well in Serbian football.

http://oi65.tinypic.com/2d6wq6p.jpg
The tiny squad and current level of my other players means about half the intake has the full five star potential, but those are the ones I can see actually being worth something. Prazic will be getting intensive fourteen hour days on his passing ability, but he's the only one who goes straight in the first team squad, as he's needed to play second fiddle to the current defensive mid.
Relatively speaking a much, much better intake than I got out of the fate with Zagreb, so this has gone from the verge of being binned to a save I'm actually looking forward to going ahead with.

Had a decent enough start but then it all went to shit, I decided to make a 4-2-3-1 wide for the Slask game. It got us some results but it looked dodgy as fuck so after those two back to back losses to Cracovia and Gornik I made a 4-3-1-2 and it made a huge difference. We looked a lot better and were getting decent results.

Is that a long term, one team save John?
I plan for it to be, yes. Doing the same thing I did with Zagreb on the last one, trying to build them into a force using nothing but players borne of their own youth system.
My prior posts in case you want a bit of background on the club. There's a story about their rivals in there that gave me a good lol.
We're underway with OFK Beograd.
We play in this Cold War film establishing shot.
http://www.ofkbeograd.co.rs/slike/Omladinski%20stadion/Kole1.jpg

How the fuck have you negotiated that, Mahow? Depending on how they work out where the profit begins you could be taking eighty five percent of his next sale.
Sir Andy Mahowry
10-11-2016, 12:36 PM
They came in with a shit offer and 40% profit.
I came back with mine including 50% next sale which I locked in and they accepted.

So Utd go back to being dominant winners and Liverpool return to mid table obscurity, sounds like the simulation works pretty well. Plus whoever had today in the 'When will Smiffs wages inevitably balloon out of control' sweepstake can come and collect their prize.
I really like the look of that young midfielder, Smiff. Obviously needs a bit of work but he could be a serious player.
My better players were as follows.
https://i.gyazo.com/796e3ad461c83aef7fb384eba6fb0995.png
Sold out from beneath me by the board halfway through the season, but the colossal wobble we had for a few games after he left spoke to how important he'd been. Dominated games from the base of midfield.
https://i.gyazo.com/c8382dec51d917577c0247ee2aecfd53.png
Fourteen goals and seven assists from the left wing put him joint top scorer and second on the assists table. As you can see though, he's off to Kiev so I'll have to figure out a new way to get someone, anyone, scoring next year.
https://i.gyazo.com/a9a018fefbbe6ec69d68a14a7d9f269e.png
Only got into the side because an excellent looking wing back got injured a couple of games into the season, but he made the position his own and I'll be keeping faith for next season. I suspect he played so well because I kept things simple with my defensive instructions though and I'll be changing the system a bit going into next season so fingers crossed.
This little wanker will be my starting striker going into the season, having developed well over the course of the season and scored twenty four goals in twenty eight games for the reserves.

So I kicked off a journeyman save last night. Only loaded European leagues with a few custom ones (Estonia, Latvia, Faroe Islands and Cyprus) and jumped straight in with no coaching badges and Sunday league reputation.
I only applied for one job because the rest were a bit too high of a starting level so my new club is:
https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcStGHW6u9IMDOZGoz6nt5wdL8vtRUvYt OdpV_4GcXo5V9LCPWWE
Sandoyar B71 of the Faroe Island first division (the lesser of the two leagues in the country). And this is our 'stadium':
http://cache.images.core.optasports.com/soccer/venues/600x450/2949.jpg
 Beautiful.
As I took over, the league was 2/3's completed with 18 of 27 games already played with the team 6th (out of 10). The board just wanted a mid table finish which I agreed to.
The squad's ability is not bad at all but the variation in players was awful. No full backs, only two wide midfielders (one right, one left), no defensive midfielder and no attacking midfielder. So I had absolutely no choice but to go with a flat 3-4-3 with a target man and two poachers. Told the lads to pump it into the box at every opportunity and exploit the numbers we have up top.
We have no youth team, no staff and the board gave me a surprising 1.5K per week wage budget but that was the total of wages when I arrived anyway. No room for maneuver. From what I've seen, that proposed wage budget is going to get us in serious financial trouble so I've started to offer out contracts that have no weekly wage but are based on appearances, clean sheets and goals.
I actually finished off the season last night but my PC was being a knob and kept dropping the internet so no screenies yet.

I need another striker, I've realised that when drunk wheeling and dealing last night, outside my main four I'm relying on Adam Armstrong and two currently shite tier youths :happycry:
What kind of position are Beograd going to be in going into the new league, John? Can they compete or are you thinking it will be a struggle?
I honestly don't know. I've had a look at the sides who were relegated last year and I think we're better than them, but there are some fairly wide gaps in my squad that should translate into weaknesses on the pitch. For example, I have one centre back who's any good in the air and he's a sixteen year old who's good at precisely nothing else.
Relegation wouldn't be a disaster though, since the wage bill will remain exactly where it is now and that's all the board expect, so I'm going to back us. I could probably Mourinho out a survival with some five at the back nonsense but that would be a struggle, so I'll be playing fast passing, attacking football and hoping for the best.

The man is a complete arsehole even in digital form.
What do you make of the Barton stuff IRL, John? I see his contract's been terminated.
I was never on board with signing him so the circus coming to an early halt is fine by me. Had we been getting the Barton of five years ago he might have been good enough at this level to make all the shit that comes with him worth holding your nose for, but he showed in the Old Firm game that he was done. He'd spent months talking about how he was here to be the best in the league, and when the moment came to actually stand up and show it he spent the entire game hiding while Scott Brown ran the show. He's a mouthpiece and I'm glad he's out.
Right, heading into 2017/2018, and we're in better shape than I expected at Christmas. A decent youth intake offers some depth, and one of the newbies from that intake will be a first teamer.
https://i.gyazo.com/6286925643badfed536d8fab21e57b65.png
I'll be playing that shape, with high pressing, and high tempo. The team is hilariously young, but this isn't even me throwing youngsters in early to have a pop. This is genuinely the best eleven.

Djerlek turns seventeen on the first day of the season, but fucking look at that weight. Less than nine stone.
First game of the new season should offer a decent barometer of where we are. Proleter at home, exactly the same game that finished last season. They've brought in six new players for this year, two of whom look very good.

Is there any tangible impact on performance if you play a player in a position they're accomplished or a natural at, but they're dogshit at the role you choose for them?
Dark Soldier
11-11-2016, 01:26 AM
Yes, a little. I've played a lot of APs, or DLPs, or RPs as CMs in my midfield. Train them in that role though and they'll pick it up.
I signed Lewis Cook from Bournemouth who is more of an AP/DLP, first 18 months he was hit and miss, picked up midway through second season and now, playing as a CM, he's been one of my best players this season. One of the first names on the England team sheet too.
Depends if you're willing to give them time and persevere.

Stuck this on for a half hour before I have to leave and the board have immediately accepted an offer for my best centre back. The chairman is seriously accommodating on everything, I've already had the number of coaches and their wage cap increased, put some money into youth coaching, and improved the training ground, and he's decided off his own back to buy the stadium, but fuck me he loves selling players. I'm one year in and I've lost three players due to the cunt. I didn't lose any in the two decades I spent with Zagreb.

Oh it was big money, relatively speaking. If all the clauses are fulfilled we'll have got twenty times the player's value for him. That's only £2.1m, but still. The players he sold last season were for £1.3m and £400k, respectively.
Obviously the game isn't to know it, but I'd have rejected £10m for most recent player, because we're financially sound for the moment and I didn't have much of a defence as it was.

There is the option to protest the transfer but it's inconsistent at best. I protested when they accepted a fairly low bid for my first choice attacking midfielder and they agreed not to sell him, so when they accepted for the defender it came with a message saying that having listened to me moaning before, they were going to deal with this one without my input.

So my first season with Lyngby has mixed attacking masterclasses defensive omni-shambles, and after the first stage we finished 9th vs. the board's expectation of us avoiding the drop.
https://s17.postimg.org/z39hj3ti7/Untitled.jpg (https://postimg.org/image/c1swdctuj/)
I thought that would see me out of the running for anything meaningful in the second stage, but while I'm in a relegation playoff (which I think it would be impossible to go down from given my points from phase 1 are carried forward), if I finish top two in my group I go into a European playoff. :cab:
Here's the group I'm in:
https://s21.postimg.org/8zaorg7br/Untitled.jpg (https://postimage.org/app.php)
I play each team home and away and the possibility of still being in the European hunt is fapworthy. :alan:
In other news we're hemorrhaging cash, but I have had a couple of reasonable looking newgens come through, which is nice as that's why I picked Lyngby in the first place.
Final thought for now, that form guide on the main league table is an aberration, and yes, whoever designed it should be fired.

Fucking crashed. Don't think I'd saved for 3 months.
Shitting game.
Does the Danish league do anything wonky with your points, Yev? The Serbian one cuts your points in half at the split stage so essentially the first thirty games are worth half as much as the last seven. It puts the league points record forever out of reach, since Red Star set it before this system came in.
After a seriously stinky start to the season we hit a patch of superb form that I reckon will ultimately keep us up.
https://i.gyazo.com/2c8e3cf9934c6c5530e594c84ac357b5.png
The bonkers Serbian system means it's not as big a cushion as it might be, but we're thirteen points from the bottom at the halfway point so I'm fairly confident.
https://i.gyazo.com/3f316963bd8d4cf13460d678b2f49da3.png

It should do. All making every nation 200 does is create more regens from lesser nations, and essentially creates more high end regens. They don't develop any quicker, but you do get the odd instant beast here and there. Which, eventually, leads to loads on free transfers due to small time clubs not being able to pay them enough to keep them. This past season there's been around 7 free transfer, minimum three gold star potential regens on free transfers available.

So I'm just heading into my first pre-season with the goat herders. Last season ended with me going W5, D2, L2 in 9 games to finish 4th:

Projected balances are a bunch of shit though.
It was pretty swish having a projected budget of about -£300m last year with Fiorentina though.
We've just been biffed 8-2 by Red Star, with some shithead named Luka Belic getting six of them. I reckon if you added up his attributes they wouldn't be far off the same as if you added up those of my entire defence.

Broke our record for transfer fee paid and received so a big window. I wanted to cut a lot more of our shit who always fucking complain but people wont even bid £0 for them, luckily a lot of them are retiring or their contracts are ending. It's going to be very much my squad from now on.
Here are the players we bought:
http://i.imgur.com/8DyODBS.png
A really good deal for us I feel, his pace causes a lot of problems and he's a decent enough finisher for this level. He did well in the few games I gave us and really well for Korona who loaned him out.
http://i.imgur.com/yMKspKo.png
Scouts love him and he's done well in his loan move but christ, those down arrows to a player who is lacking. He hasn't been injured either so it's worrying. I'm not confident that he'll do anything.
http://i.imgur.com/CwQrWJp.png
For me he was our signing of the season (although fans disagreed), he's a proper geezer who has done a lot to get our team better defensively but he's so damn dangerous when he runs forward. 4 goals and 8 assists in his 40 games and he could have had more.
http://i.imgur.com/JFXBar5.png
He's been a rock and doesn't deserve (along with the rest of our defence) to have been trying to protect my shit heap of a keeper for so long.
http://i.imgur.com/zTE2Gzp.png
Our highest ever transfer and he's done really well although he's been used very sparingly. He got a few games near the end of the year because of injuries and I think he could be a big part of the team next year.
http://i.imgur.com/posbxLK.png
He joined up in February and he's had to play a lot since joining but he's done so well. He's going to be mega in a year or two.
http://i.imgur.com/hCjc7eZ.png
He went straight out on loan as I didn't want him kicking around not playing as we can only use 2 foreigners in our first 11 at a time. He's performed brilliantly for Arka though.
http://i.imgur.com/VGDTBmI.png
I wasn't happy with some of our midfield options so he came in and really gave a spark to the team.
http://i.imgur.com/MqwvGzd.png
Really pissed me off when he came in as he was sent off after about 20 minutes in his first match. He did very well when he came back, then got sent off again :moop: I'll probably look to sell him because as good as he performs I can't trust the mentalist.
http://i.imgur.com/4Dzj2Nd.png
Not sure why I bought him, I've barely used as he's most suited as a winger but I don't play any.

Bought him as I was getting so annoyed at Nowak, our number 1. He had an awful debut letting in 3 goals, but he picked himself up and kept us in many games. The fans were clearly pissed off at our old keeper as he was voted our best signing despite playing in only 16 games.
And a special mention to this chap:

He was signed last year on a free and I tried to get him involved this year but wasn't doing much. He then scored a hattrick against Lech in the second leg of a cup game and that seemed to give him so much more confidence. He turned into a proper finisher and I was crowbarring him into a lot more games.

Considering it took him a few matches to score a goal it's a damn good tally that he finished on.
Future is bright for us now.

.....
Looks like Poland uses the same system as Serbia, and that post has highlighted a consequence of it that I hadn't properly considered. If you're top of the league going into the last seven games of the league your lead is just arbitrarily cut in half. It would be a proper shitter to be ten points clear going into the last seven games and end up losing the league by less than five.

My keeper has finally had a bad match, a 6.3 away at United. Still won 3-2 however, on the verge of the CL final.
