After winning 6 competitions last season and 12 in his short Southampton career, Frans Kerkhofs has come to me to ask to join Madrid (who have been scouting him like fuck) because he wants to win some medals at this stage of his career :cab:

After, what, 5 years of that shit? They're not fixing it any time soon.
Frustrating, because managing the big clubs is shit. I want to be able to take a Wrexham or a Billericay Town and have them win the Champions League. Which I have, only for my best players to want to fuck off to newly promoted Charlton.

Got to the final round of qualifying with Rosenborg. 1-0 win at home. Absolutely dominated them away from home, get into half-time and tell the lads not to get complacent and we'll go through. Conceded 3 in 45 minutes.
Team was then so knackered that I got gubbed in the League and scraped by in the cup. I'm 9th and the most I've got to look forward to is a Europa League campaign against FC Salzburg and some team from Malta. Fucking brilliant...
I've also managed to lose to St. Johnstone, Hearts and Aberdeen. It's going great. If I lose to Rangers then the game goes in the bin.

In a season were we bottled two Cup finals and a Champions League Semi, my first Ligue 1 win was a huge relief. 9 of the starting 11 are homegrown, with only 3 foreigners in the full squad.
In the summer, Rami, Abeid, Menez, Giroud all moved on. M'Vila arrives on a free along with the returning N'koudou.
The board have finally invested and supplied me with a £40m warchest to battle the Parisians, half of which I'm tempted to spunk on Mangala.

FC United 17/18
So after gaining promotion from the 6th tier the slog of the conference was all that stood between us and the football league.
The transfers
https://s27.postimg.org/zewwvttoj/Untitled.jpg (https://postimg.org/image/c0oxjwbr3/)
I shan't bother posting screenies of this lot as none of them will be here very long. Ameobi became our first 'big name' signing and I think he's finally found his level. Lee Trundle was ok until he decided to retire in September and the rest are non-contract fucks.
30 games in and the league is like so:
https://s23.postimg.org/rw5mr6fzv/Untitled.jpg (https://postimage.org/)
With 12 games to go automatic promotion is all but out of the question, so playoffs is the aim.

Oh and Wayne Rooney watch sees the 32 year old in Man Utd's under 23 squad, making appearances in the Checkatrade Trophy. Mourinho banished him from the first team squad after Wayne requested a transfer, citing he needed a new challenge. I guess playing Fleetwood Town offers that.

Southampton 2023/24.
Transfers.
Was going to blood a load of youngsters but Pambani was too tempting even though didn't really need him (especially when I bought Koepershoek too). Good few expensive contracts went out on frees too. Kurzawa was bought in January due to lots of Targett suspensions and was surprisingly good.

New Formation.
Been wanting to try out 5-3-2 and having 5 good CB's meant it was the best time to try it. Not nearly as good going forward as the old 4-2-2-2 but really solid defensively.

Fingers crossed.
After winning the Trophee des Champions for a second summer I decided to resign as OM manager.
Top challenge year in year out, but I really needed to manage some new faces.
After turning down Nice in September, Sampdoria came calling soon after. 5 defeats from their first 6 doesn't really do the squad justice.

Extract it to Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2017\data\facegen\hair and overwrite any existing files. (ie it doesn't go in My Documents like facepacks and logos)
Unfortunately this won't correct the fact that one in five regens have the exact same face, but it's better than nothing.

I'm going to start with Celtic because I've tried so many other places, and been thrashed out of sight regardless of team or tactics, that if I can't succeed with this lot I might as well just put the game away.
The problem I'm having is that width just doesn't work in this game but crowding midfield is against everything I stand for.

Saaaaafemton 2024/25.
Not as good as last season but another monster season in the league. With Brinquedo and Colidio so good, I could play a nice tight 5-3-2 and concede fuck all. Kuznetzov from the youths was a nice backup for them after I retrained him as a striker. Osborne coming in for €8m to replace Kerkhofs was an absolute star and ended up on the PL and CL teams of the season, and I managed to get through rotating Alena, Hauche, Suarez, Odegaard, Keita, Carvalho, and Nyddegger in the 3 midfield spots without so much as a moan from any of them, which is the biggest feat of all in this game.

I've found players, even on the computer teams, rarely get anywhere near an 8 average in this. Certainly lower than previous versions. Anything around 7.4 or 7.5 and you're floating around player of the year territory normally.
My top performers are always well over 7.50.

The 'add comment' must be just for network games so you can add witty replies for your mate to see. The computer isn't going to know what the hell you've typed, otherwise SI would be lauding that as a big feature (and swatting off other companies asking how they did it).

Phwoar so it's been quite an adventure for my Celtic save.
My game crashed shortly after my last post which meant I had the chance to face Rosenborg again. I won and got a CL group of Bayern, Napoli and Tottenham (fun group)
I managed to scrape 4 points with a 1-0 win against Tottenham at home but I couldn't even get third after losing to Bayern in the final game. In the league I thought we were okay until I looked at the stats and realised I was blending the million cup games I had with the League. I was 9 games in and I'd won 2 all season :D As I started finally having some space to not have 95% of my team nackered I started putting some wins together. I picked up some bloke called 'Kuki' on a free (with compensation) after Moussa Dembele got ruled out for 4 months (Leigh Griffiths was to follow 2 weeks later making me a god in the market)
Then came January. Dembele comes to me to tell him I must immediately sell him to Liverpool even though he hadn't had a 'Wnt' icon by his name yesterday and I told him to chill, at which point my entire team kicked off at me for letting him leave. Meanwhile, Liverpool come in with a bid of 1.5m for Tierney so I just 100% it and ask for 15 million and 20% profit and they're cool with it and he goes. At which point my entire team kicks off at me for not having enough squad depth.
I bring in some randomers while Liverpool go through every member of my team who isn't fucking shite and bid about 3 quid for them. Dembele asks for a transfer request. I give it him, thinking I'm absolutely fucked this season. Liverpool don't bother putting another bid in.
So now it's Feb 2nd (20 games or so in) and I am on equal points with Rangers and Aberdeen (an Aberdeen team who at this point have beaten me 4 times this year) and we'll see if I manage to last the season.

I live in the south east of England so they're the nearest team (that's in the football league) to me.
Made them world beaters from League One. Think it was 3 Champions League trophies and 3 World Club Championships during my stay. I left after a display of petulance when they didn't name the new stadium after me. Opting for the catchy name 'Gillingham Stadium'. My time had come to find a new challenge really.
That has come in the form of PSG who hadn't won the legue since 2036 and finished 8th last year.

I've had some right cracking saves tbh. When I log into the image site I use there's a stream of reminders but as far as newgens go this is my best save so far. I wish I had loaded more countries but it doesn't seem to have affected too much. I want to see what I can do with Pilkington and Hunter too. I think both have potential to be record breakers at the club.
Long term aims now are relatively simple. Overtake Man United's 24 league titles (we're on 22) as well as FA Cup , overtake Real Madrid in Europe, it's currently 12 v 8 to them and honours, we're six behind whiilst hoping to further extend our record in the EFL cup. Along the way I'm hoping we can beat a few of our preset records most notably most wins in a season which stands at 30 (1978/79) and I don't think it's too far fetched to expect to beat the 11-0 win over Stromsgodset at some point too.
http://s30.postimg.org/yrh8e3wsh/screenshot_1009.png
He's definitely on course to beat Roger Hunt. 143 in 228 thus far but that's just league goals. Overall he's at 230 in 341 games.

Last season 2029/30 saw us overtake Manchester United as most time winners with 25. The FA Cup is proving slightly harder with Man United holding the record at 16 to our 10.
We're up against Real Madrid in the first knock out round (2030/31) and you could say the North West is the Champions League's new home.

Fee?
£8.25 million. I'd have held out for a lot more, but worse still I now have to do the second half of the season (including a coefficient-vital Europa League run) with only Leigh Griffiths, Gaetan Laborde (I know), and children to score my goals.

I had Dembele bitch and moan for a move to Liverpool to the point I would have lost the title if it weren't for Leigh Griffiths scoring 6 goals in 3 games.
Summer rolls around and I accept a bid from Monaco for 20 million just because I'm fucking sick of Liverpool, who have also spent the summer trying to buy Kristoffer Ajer for 700k. Only for Liverpool come in with a 30m (40 with add-ons) and a 50% sell on fee.
The cunt chooses Monaco. The guys dead to me, I called him an arsehole on the way out.

I had Barcelona, Real Madrid and all the delusional Italian clubs desperately trying to get Ajer in January. Who do they think I am?
Also signed Erik Durm from Dortmund because I wanted to remind myself of the misery of previous failed saves. Wayne Rooney was listed by request but his wage demands are more fish suppers than the Clyde can yield.

I hate this game. Battered Kiev over two legs, lost 6-5 on aggregate in extra time because they produced a lethal finish every time they got within 40 yards of our goal, and it'll be another 6 or so hours of playing time before I get another crack at Europe.
It's a very enjoyable but incredibly difficult game.

Oh and our main centre back popping up in the final moments to head in a free kick at the death, fucking beast.

Only £10.75m and I think the half Dutch, half Aussie lad will be mega. Already he's being compared to my second striker Leon Zimmer who is the guy he'll eventually replace.

£24m and tiny Petar could be a pretty incredible player for the team. He's being touted as the next Phil Olhoff who is a newgen in my game who has garnered £179m in transfer fees playing for Barca, Man City and PSG. I think he could be better than what this chap was in his golden age though.

I won the league with Celtic. With 2 games to spare, because the second half of the season has been a total clusterfuck. Still, my first trophy on this blasted game. In the cup final against St Johnstone, and in a curious turn of events we have won all 5 Old Firm games this year despite regularly losing at home to the likes of Partick Thistle.
I have pre-arranged transfers for Darren Randolph, Alex Mowatt, and Tanzanian superstar Mbwana Samata.
My main focus is to keep trying to get the coefficient up so we can ultimately rely on the Champions League money. Pretty solid year with a 7.25 thanks to Hearts chipping in unexpectedly.

Suprisingly not as there's still plenty of targets to reach. The Champions League is a doddle which is weird and the current squad at my disposal should ensure more trophies over the next few years because we're just that good. I want most winner records for all eligable competitions, I want an unbeaten season and to ensure every club record is beaten too.
After that I think the natural step would be to take over Wales as well and attempt another septuple with a major international tournement. Not my strong point though as other than the odd AFCON I can't recall the last time I won something with a nation.

A 2016 youth product which eventually spelt the end of Mignolet and Karius. Not many goalkeepers have arrived at the Dalglish Stadium over the years such has been his dominance. Possibly one of the most successful players left in the game given the international success too.

Likewise with Trent who took a couple of seasons to cement his place at right back. His average rating has improved as he's got older which is nice to see although I'm not sure how much longer he has. Attributes suggest a little while longer but I hope to have blooded someone else in by then.
http://s30.postimg.org/5qth6b281/screenshot_1068.png
It was a stop-start campaign for Haddadi who has had six different injuries in the space of a year. It gave Huw Sanna a chance but the gulf in quality between the two is worlds apart. I'm hoping he'll hurry up back and slightly more durable.

Signed in 2026 from Fiorentina. Most baulked at the £61M transfer fee at the time but in his time at the club he's been a rock. Still has a few years left in him clearly.
http://s30.postimg.org/fx22pamm9/screenshot_1070.png
Two seasons prior to the above, Maximilian was our big deal of the summer coming in at £48M. The partnership the three centrebacks have formed has been just as key to our success as the goals we've plundered.
http://s30.postimg.org/n1ohc2j9d/screenshot_1071.png
A speculative punt back in 2026 saw the Seneglese defender arrive for just £375K. Two loan moves to Coventry and Bristol helped every so slightly but it's been the past two seasons he's started to make the third and final position his own. Potentially another long termer.
http://s30.postimg.org/9olc9gef5/screenshot_1072.png
The clubs most expensive signing at £120M, started life at Liverpool as one of the front three but has gradually been dropped further into midfielder thanks to Danny Hughes finally realising his potential. I'm never going to make much back in fee's with this one so I imagine he'll be tutoring for the rest of his career.
http://s30.postimg.org/ks0d1babl/screenshot_1073.png
£35M from Fulham who were a Premier League outfit again back in 2022. He has in my mind surpassed every midfielder we've had on consistancy alone. You very rarely get a low rating from him and although not as prolific in front of goal as I would like, he's still a scorer of important goals. Those have become less over the years because we don't really scrape our way through matches these days. At 28 I reckon he's got at least five more seasons left at the club.
http://s30.postimg.org/rmanr02yp/screenshot_1074.png
The jewel in our crown. Scored his first competitive goal against Everton, broke Roger Hunts league record ten years later against the same team albeit at Goodison Park. Young enough to be around for many more years and he's the main reason the save is as interesting as it is. He's won so many individual awards that it's pointless listing them all but it still pisses me off that Man United's striker Pickford makes him second fiddle for international duty. Still, he'll get better and has grabbed over 30 league goals in each of his last six seasons. Truly amazing.
http://s30.postimg.org/vy3utqz9d/screenshot_1075.png
I perservered with this guy for so long that I almost lost faith a couple of seasons ago. There's not a great deal to say as the stats say it anyway. Personally I don't think they tell the truth story but then I imagine I'm comparing him to Pilkington, Magnus and Ozer.
http://s30.postimg.org/tutfm2zgh/screenshot_1076.png
http://s30.postimg.org/6hve3kjcx/screenshot_1077.png
Our last signing from PSG and our last signing overall in the past four years as we've looked to balance the books once more. I reckon he was worth the fee of £70M but only when in the support role. As the attacker of the front three he's quite poor which is odd.
http://s30.postimg.org/3svzzsoht/screenshot_1078.png
Finally given the state I got in with the finances, things have improved.
http://s30.postimg.org/7t7qps4ch/screenshot_1079.png
We won't fail it as a few more unwanted players leave at the end of the month but the way the game is going I imagine it's going to revert back to a YDWAWK again but without rushing to off load those in the first team as I did the first time round.

My last three seasons with Bury has seen me bring in £261m, £381m and £298m respectively. Each season I've bought between 40-70m worth of players. Balance of £587m despite a 29k seater stadium :D
So, so easy to become rich on this if you snap up any/all young talent asap. Downside is my u18s/u23s are now looking barren so I'll have to get onto some more soon, set like 50-60m aside for incoming youth.

Still as useless.
I've dragged us to 7th in the coefficients but can't do anything more.
Legia got to the second knockout round of the Europa League 4 seasons ago and they're shot now.
No other team have ever gotten out of a group.
Last year Wisla lost their Champions League playoff to AA Gent and then their Europa League playoff to fucking Banik Ostrava.
Slask went straight into a Europa group and came third against Stoke, Pacos Ferreira and Dynamo after winning once, drawing twice and losing 3 times.
Lechia beat Brondy but then lost to Club Brugge. They then got relegated...
There's no money in the league and Polish talents are rare as fuck.

So United essentially become the best team in pretty much every save?
They're the only side in world football to give me trouble on my Bury save (despite us being the 11th best team in the world in game despite two CLs in a row).
Could one of you playing in Scotland, or at least someone who has it loaded, have a look at Zak Rudden of Rangers and confirm that my new save hasn't just thrown up a complete monstrosity?

Our awful facilities led to a stand being deemed unfit for purpose by Health & Safety. We're lucky if we bring in 10,000 punters for a match. Steve McManaman followed me to Spain but he quickly got Gary Nevilled out of there. Newcastle, World Club Champions are on to their third manager in a year. I absolutely need a DMC next year.
Also, Javier Saviola looks like he's playing another season. 1021 games. 42 years of age. 10 goals this season. He's got 4 for pace and acceleration which probably gives him until 45.

Quicker on the trigger than I ever was too.
Barrie McKay is an absolute child this year. We were getting tanked 3-0 away to Hearts at half time so I told the side they weren't close to good enough and he 'looked confused and demotivated', then there he was in the press after the game moaning that I was a wanker. He's comfortably the best player on the books but he'll be getting sold if that's a regular thing.

Two days off so I should finally get back underway with Liverpool although I'm in two minds now whether to continue dominating or seek a new challenge?
I'd be heading into my 16th season having surpassed Bill Shankly's 783 matches in 14Y7M but Tom Watson's record as longest-serving manager is a realistic target given that's only 18Y262M. I might go at the end of the season if we can claim a 7th successive Champions League title which will see us pass Real Madrid's total of 12.

My FFP projection is going mental.
It keeps switching from making £20m profit by the end of the period to losing £110m.
The finances just seem to work out as a world unto themselves. In my last season of my game as I was getting bored I decided to destroy Liverpool to keep myself amused. Ended up relegating them with a committed wage spend of €11m a week for the next 3 years but just before they were about to go into admin and fail FFP they magically got €180m in 'sponsorship' in a week.

My A to Z.
A is for Anfield.
After over 130+ years as the home of Liverpool, Anfield finally closed its doors for good albeit in typical Merseyside fashion. It was a 1-0 defeat to relegated West Bromwich Albion the last game of the season. Standard form.
B is for Bekkerbraten.
At £120M he remains the most expensive player in Liverpool's history although it was still money well spent. After gracing the Premier League once before with Tottenham the talented Norwegian returned to the shores with a point to prove after it was suggested he was phoning it in, in Ligue 1. 200 goals in 241 appearances and an instrumental part in claiming five successive Premier League titles, five European Cup's, he and finally completing his set last season with both the EFL and FA Cup medals meaning he's claimed all there is in England.
C is for Coutinho and Can.
When Lucas Leiva and Dejan Lovren left Anfield in the 2016 no one was overly bothered. Leiva had been a long time servant, Lovren had been a long time disaster but when the following summer saw departures of Emre Can to Bayern Munich and the jewel in our crown leave for rivals Tottenham, all hell loose. After almost a decade at Spurs, Coutinho who by then had long since started his decline as a footballer took himself to the MLS where he enjoyed an Indian summer of sorts. The Brazilian is currently awaiting for an opportunity in management whilst Emre Can opted for a stint in Qatar.
D is for Dalglish Stadium
In 2026 the club arrived at its new stadium, something Liverpool had been craving for as long as I can remember. At 76,000 it remains one of the most modern stadiums in the country and indeed in the biggest.
E is for Everton
Our Merseyside neighbours had spent the past ten years toiling in the EFL Championship which from a personal perspective was disappointing as there's nothing like a good olde derby. As it is in 15 years we've faced off just 14 times and only once have we come unstuck. A record of P14, W13, D0, L1, F44, A9 is just too big a beating stick to slap 'em with.
F is for Fenway Sports Group.
They came, they saw, the delivered. In 2025 John Henry finally past the club over to a new consortium. Liverpool looked down and out when FSG first arrived amid the turmoil the club had experienced under both Hicks and Gillet but over the years they proved themselves to be the best thing to arrive at Anfield in many a year. Success, consistency and the brand spanking new stadium are all hallmarks left by the Americans who really served the club well.
G is for Gavin Pilkinton

I was £3.7m in the red a few seasons ago but my board gave me a transfer budget of £104m which I still don't understand.
Currently have £56m in the bank with a projected balance of -£674m in a couple of seasons (lol) and projected to fail the FFP. Despite all that I have a transfer budget of £505m with £1.4m p/w in wages free. Madness.
I think financial projections assume you'll spend your transfer budget.
I turned first window budgets off in this new Rangers game so it's taken until February for anything really bonkers to happen, but the Chinese have just taken some uncapped Brazilian twat and given him £210,000 a week.

I'm getting a bit fed up of my Sporting Gijon save for a few reasons.
1) I've got about 10 leagues loaded on view only which is slowing processing down tremendously
2) I can't be fucked scouting & buying players (I normally do youth only)
With that in mind, does anyone have any decent recommendations for clubs for a youth only save? I was considering the likes of Benfica, Dortmund, Boca etc but ideally I want a bit more of a challenge than that. One of the big things about a youth only save for me is getting your prospects international recognition which would come fairly easily with a half decent season at clubs like that (indeed most of their youths will probably be involved in youth internationals to begin with)
I'd like it to be one of the bigger national teams and a league with a good challenge so ideally I'm gravitating towards Spain, France, Germany, Italy (not England, cant be fucked with that). So far I've come up with:
Atalanta
Stuttgart
1860 Munich
Auxerre
Strasbourg
Anyone any suggestions outside that or recommendations from the above?

Atalanta are my first choice for my next game too. I've parked the Beograd save for now thank to that strange value balls up, but I'm less than a season into a Rangers save and I'm already bored of faffing around in the transfer market so I'll definitely be going back to academy only next.

Tevez claimed to be homesick when he was leaving Man City then tipped up at Juventus. It's not as if players bullshitting to get away from a club they want to leave is without precedent in reality. Maybe Munich is marked as a more attractive city in the game than Manchester and he wanted more money to live in a shithole than he wanted to live somewhere better, maybe he has a preference for Bayern or Germany that isn't high enough to show up in his profile but still factors into decision making, maybe he had a growing dislike for your management style that chased him out. There are a billion things wrong with the game that need fixed, but what you're describing isn't really one of them.

I probably would have been interested 24 hours ago but I don't like playing more than one save at a time, knocks me out my stride a bit.
Atalanta do look really promising, I ended up between them and Stuttgart but ended up going with Stuttgart because they have marginally better facilities, youth recruitment and a B team. Does anyone know how promotion works for a B team if they aren't in a playable league? Is it totally randomised or do I assume that by putting my best young players in there then naturally that team will become favourites in their league and hopefully get promoted sooner rather than later?

Liverpool FC - Season 2031/2032
Summary
The decision to go a fourth successive year without investment proved costly as we were dumped out of the Champions League at the group stage, suffered an embarrassing defeat to Brazilian club Corinthians in the FIFA Club World Cup as well as losing the Europa League final to Tottenham who we had beat in this very same fixture eight years earlier. We had knocked Man United out in the semi's, just as we did in the EFL Cup before going on to beat Chelsea in the final. In the FA Cupit was Man United who eliminated up on their way to face Chelsea in the final. We won the Community Shield and the Super Cup but they're two shit competitions, really.

Danny Hughes with a career best.
Having been at the club for 16 years we've managed to claim 9 Premier League titles, 7 Champions Leagues, 5 FIFA World Cups, 6 Super Cups, 4 Fa Cups, 3 EFL Cups, 9 Community Shields and a solitary Europa League victory. Not too sure which way to go. I've just had youth facilities downgraded but the board don't believe there's much point in investing. We have a transfer budget of £600M and some huge earners nearing the end of their contracts.
We have a number of players the wrong side of 30 now and most are first team regulars.

You have to begin the cycle over again now Smiff. The guys who have a year left, keep them around to tutor the youngsters you'll have coming in. Alternatively sell the 30/31 year olds. In FM terms they are probably at their peak of value, reputation and CA about then. So you'll be able to sell them for daft money, just you might not be able to get much back in sell on %
It's probably a little too late for Oxford and Trent, but they should have great mentals by now.

Yeah I was about to bin my Southampton game but I always wanted to see could you kill a club in this (you can't btw, bottom of league one in admin and 600m in debt, you suddenly get 800m 'sponsorship' and a 300m transfer budget for the next season) so I resigned from St Mary's and holidayed the main manager and added another. The trick is that you can still offer massive deals to players in the U18 squad even if you can't for other players. 50% wage rises, long contracts for 34 year olds that you bought for 35m from Airdrie, and selling decent players for 0 with 100% selling club wage contributions also help. I pop in from time to time to sack all their new staff and make sure they keep dropping but they're on their own now as I've taken over from Jose at Man U with my main guy in 2028. I'm also interested to see how they fare out in rising again when fully simulated. Though they are down to regional rep, have sold the training ground and academy, and are getting a new loan every month so I'm not sure if big money will come now to get them back. Still pulling in around 12000 a home game though.
My Man Utd squad is full of wingers and I'm playing a 5-3-2, and the squad hate me for shipping Martial off to America and Pogba off to Turkey but CL looks handy enough.

Manchester United 2028/29.
That was too fucking easy. Jose had built quite a squad of players, even though I'd to do some re-training to fit them where I wanted some of them.
Biggest challenge for the coming season is to try get enough young players in there that I can pick a 25 man squad for the competitions. There's only enough home grown there for me to pick 20 tops.

I don't think there's anything in the world that makes me seethe more than losing 1-0 to Arab shithouses.
Australia's problem (and I assume this is the same IRL) is they simply don't have any good footballers at all, other than perhaps the goalkeeper Ryan. As such I'm always made massive favourites for every game but other than GDP I really can't see any reason for it.
http://i.imgur.com/53iSn4j.png
Having just seethed our way to defeat in Baghdad, we still have to host Japan and go to Saudi, as well as Thailand away which has even more seethe potential. In between times we have to go to the Confederations Cup, which will be still more misery as we have Germany, Chile and the worst possible draw, New Zealand.

Never in doubt.
Based on the absolute buttfucking we got from Germany and Chile at the Confed Cup though, we're going to need a kind draw to have any chance of getting out of the group.

If anyone has the slow as fuck inbox issue I had, where it can take seconds to go into it and a second or two to go to next news item, there's a fix:
With FM17 not open, go to C:\Users\[youruseraccount]\AppData\Local\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2017\Preferences\version 3
and delete thee two files
inbox_scrollbar_state.xml
inbox_content_state.xml
And it should be back to normal. You'll have to do it when it slows again, seem those files get huge and take a while to access. My game is now flying along again.

Liverpool FC - Season 2032/33
Summary
We were expected to make big moves in the summer but as it turned out, the only arrival at The Dalglish Stadium was to be Borislav Kolev who arrived for £40M from Napoli. It seemed disappointing at the time to only bring in one of our targets but as the season unfolded we were left in no doubt that that was all we needed anyway.
http://s28.postimg.org/4k21ycg3x/screenshot_1095.png
Costly but we recouped £27M in fee's and much more in wages with the departures of Reece Oxford, Huw Sanna and Scott Lacey who were all earning far too much for the roles they were playing, something of a recurring theme at the club.
http://s28.postimg.org/p5gtq8xot/screenshot_1096.png
We were looking good for an unbeaten campaign until West Ham ruined the party. Struggling Wolves then launched a 'surprise' 1-0 win on our patch, a feat we hadn't experienced all too much since leaving Anfield.
Failing to score isn't something that happens all too often so when we do it's usually a shock defeat.
http://s28.postimg.org/f9kc4chal/screenshot_1097.png
Premier League's top three goalscorers. Love it. Hughes has really come on in the last few seasons.

Performances like 'this' helping out, no end.
http://s28.postimg.org/dll6pp3f1/screenshot_1100.png
We still haven't beaten the 11-0 win over Stromsgodset though.
The FA Cup wasn't nice to us as West Ham again proved a thorn in our side. It wouldn't be too bad if they were actually a good team but they are such a shithouse club it's unreal.
http://s28.postimg.org/4vo3oulxp/screenshot_1102.png
We fared much better in the lesser cup though so I can't complain too much.
http://s28.postimg.org/j4nq6x0gd/screenshot_1103.png
Domestically we've been the best team in the country for many a year now having claimed our 9th successive league title but it was Europe's premier competition that we wanted more than anything. After exiting at the group stage last season we had to delay our domination of the old big ears but thankfully by the seasons end we had returned the cup to it's rightful place.
http://s28.postimg.org/j629e2rnx/screenshot_1104.png
Still belongs in the North West.
http://s28.postimg.org/jk3ldobrh/screenshot_1105.png
Come pre-season I've decided to freshen up the squad somewhat and go through all the youngsters (not as many as you'd imagine given it was meant to be a YDWAWK save). Trent is retiring.
http://s28.postimg.org/7ji5cy4ct/screenshot_1106.png
Although you could argue he retired last season anyway.

I'm playing as Arsenal at the moment (trying to turn them into a winning outfit, and so far failing) and I have to say that turning off regen faces is the best thing I've ever done on this game, it both adds realism/seamlessness to the 'narrative', and also speeds the bloody thing up.

Give the foreign players a season's grace to find their feet. People always moan about this but you've got to judge them on their second season, once they've picked up the language.
That youngster is ok - he's got a decent spread of stats where you'd want them. Not top-tier, but absolutely fine for Scotland.
To get notifications of when PL clubs sack their manager (it's unsurprisingly a ballache), subscribe to the club and configure the notifications for staff changes.

Liverpool - Season 2033/2034
Season Summary
Premier League
We kicked off the league campaign with a 4-4 draw away to Tottenham, Yasin Ozer and Gavin Pilkington scoring late to earn us a point before following it up with another four at home to Sunderland. One week later, we were in 'crisis' following a surprise defeat to Wolves. Four points from our first three games and after a summer that saw the departure of many big characters, it was asked if the squad was about to enter a transitional period. It was the first and last time that that question was ever asked as we proceeded to go the remainder of the season unbeaten. Not a bad way to secure a 10th successive title but an invincible campaign is still the target.
http://s28.postimg.org/4vy4809l9/screenshot_1116.png
Domestic Cups
We enjoyed a comfortable ride to the EFL final before dismantling West Ham to claim the trophy for a fourth successive time whilst taking our total to 13.
http://s28.postimg.org/so7fjjbm5/screenshot_1117.png
And whilst Arsenal and Man United tried, we showed just why we were the most dominant club in the country by easing past both. It's always that more satisfying knocking out Man United as they remain four FA Cups ahead of us.
http://s28.postimg.org/7wjk2aaa5/screenshot_1118.png
Another domestic treble and England is a bit of a one horse race these days.
Other Cups
Not that I'm overly bothered about the Community Shield, I still don't like losing trophies. We gained revenge later in the season but still, it was a shit game and the result matched it.
http://s28.postimg.org/5oafi29hp/screenshot_1119.png
The same applies for the Super Cup tbh. I fucking hate David Pickwell, he's been a thorn in my side for nearly a decade now.
http://s28.postimg.org/s6lxejhql/screenshot_1120.png
We fared better in the Club World Cup whilst sustaining our impressive league form.
http://s28.postimg.org/6y88x439p/screenshot_1121.png
But there's no doubt it was the Champions League where we truly excelled. We had made the competition our own and knew if we were to retain it once more we would become the most decorated team in its history. We did exactly that.
http://s28.postimg.org/jqwcx1evh/screenshot_1122.png
The group stage was a doddle, the so called Battle of Britain more of a five minute scuffle and the 3-0 collapse away to Real Madrid a major irritation but we redeemed ourselves. The final against Juventus was the first time since 1985 and had a much better ending.
----------------
Armand (http://s28.postimg.org/qy2n6nf65/screenshot_1124.png)Sery (http://s28.postimg.org/qy2n6nf65/screenshot_1124.png), Metin (http://s28.postimg.org/99awf13f1/screenshot_1125.png)Okur (http://s28.postimg.org/99awf13f1/screenshot_1125.png) and Jose Valenzuela (http://s28.postimg.org/88anpwmfh/screenshot_1126.png) were all brought in at various points for a combined total of £72M as we looked to install some fresh meat into the squad, Serypotentially adding an extra £30M on top when he inevitably activates his add ons.
Lee Hyo-Jin, Cristopher Castro, Fakredine Haddadi and Kilian Maschke fee's exceeding that by £40M made it a productive summer however as we shaved nearly £2M a week off the wage bill. Club legend Trent Alexander-Arnold retiring and Magnus Bakkerbraten being released saving over £600K a week in itself.
As per the top three goalscorers were Gavin Pilkington, Yasin Ozerand Danny Hughes although this time llija (http://s28.postimg.org/eojmfzuz1/screenshot_1127.png) Trajkovski (http://s28.postimg.org/eojmfzuz1/screenshot_1127.png) had a breakout season and grabbed 25 himself as he pushed Hughes all the way.
I signed a new five-year deal at the beginning of the season by which time I hope to have obtained the record for most FA Cup's won but it's a bit of a slog at times. I think when Pilkington and the like retire I may have to move to another country.

I've got him at Arsenal (start of 18/19 season) and although I don't play with wingers, if I did he'd be finding himself on the fringes of the side. Looks a touch better than that.
I've had a fun time, spent a shitload of money and come 4th twice, and rewarded by having my expectations lowered for year 3, it's just like being Arsenal manager in real life.
The first thing I did was flog most of the squad including Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wilshere and countless overpaid others. I actually had to sack Walcott as he wouldn't accept a contract elsewhere, even at PSG. Have gradually replaced them with a mixture of expensive marquee players and young Britishers, team looks something like this:
GK Cech
DR Bellerin
DL Grimaldo (from Benfica, released Gibbs at end of 17/18, have Charlie Taylor as backup)
DC Rugani (god)
DC Holding (could do better but I like him)
MC Kessié
MC Sheaf (inferior stats but has forced £43m Kimmich out of the side with performances)
AMC Ozil / Ward-Prowse
AMC Asensio
CF Sanchez
AF Belotti (goal machine)
All sorts of random English in reserve including Dwight Gayle, Joe Hart, Ben Osborn from Forest, and Zach Clough.
We absolutely smash the goals in but can't defend to save our lives. Looking better this year though. This could be our year™.

I holidayed 6 months in to see what was going down in the Premier League. There was Everton at the bottom of the table, and I thought 'That looks like a fun challenge' and having taken over I've got us to the FA Cup Semi-Final but we're now 10 points adrift of 17th :D
I'm fucking Tim Sherwood. Much like my spirit manager, I'm refusing to take any of the blame though. Koeman wanked away all my money on Federico Fernandez leaving me a mil short of buying Tielemanns. That's my excuse at least.

I came close to signing Al Clark many years ago but decided he didn't warrant the fee and allowed him to move to Arsenal. I reckon he'd have done more for us.

Got bored of Celtic and that Everton game was so depressing I would never play the game again if it carried on. Decided to start a new game with Bournemouth and it's going so well that I figure we're about to get ripped apart. I started off the season with Surman and Harry Arter out injured for 6 and 10 months respectively but thankfully Dan Gosling has been amazing, Wilshere has been rubbish, Callum Wilson is godlike and if I can keep hold of him I'll be amazed.
