I think one of the biggest issues is around how cheap crap food is as well. I have been watching what I eat since around the end of April because I noticed my weight was creeping up. So I've been trying to eat mostly whole foods where possible, pretty much the only processed foods I have been having are rice and pasta and I've dropped the best part of 2 stone. But, buying more fruit especially as well as things like nuts to get my calories to where I want them to be for a day has meant that my shopping bill has gone up by around 10 to 15 pound a week. That's just me and my missus no kids and we are lucky it's affordable for us to do it.

You can train yourself not to eat shit fairly easily but having the money to afford not eating the shit is actually probably the most difficult thing.

I also think things like My Fitness Pal would shock a lot of people if they used it to track what they eat. For me at my biggest in 09/10 I was not far under 17 stone I'm now just under 12 stone. But, when I started using an app to track my food I realised how many empty calories are in things. I used to have probably two latte's a day knowing it had empty calories in it but not really thinking that much of it. Tracking it made me realise I was wasting the best part of 400 calories a day on that. So I changed to an americano with a dash of milk you do that across a week and that is probably most of the way to you losing a pound a week. That's not a massive change in the grand scheme of things.

Personally I'd start with getting rid of any form of anonymity on it and banning anyone under 18 from using it outside of a learning environment. That we're actually encouraging kids is perverse.

Anonymity has it's place though. If someone has enough clout on social media and you offer some mild, valid criticism on their post their supporters can dogpile you (often encouraged by the poster) and in some cases have even doxxed and harassed people. Obviously anonymous troll farms are bad, but so is being unable to challenge something clearly dodgy or some internet simp rings up your work and tells them you're a nonce.
