That average speed stat is an impressively pointless thing to display.

Is there a more unhinged centre back pairing in world football?

They seem to have been going mental together/keeping Varane out of the side for about a decade now.

Varane's done well to have been pushing for a spot since he was 12.

I never thought our manager (Karl Robinson) could come close to his previous levels of idiocy when he stated that there was money available in January to spend on our relegation threatened squad but he wasn't willing to do it because "I might sign 2 players and they might get injured".... but he has given it a run for it's money today.

We had a goal ruled out for offside, incorrectly according to him (I haven't seen it) and he came out and said that we got fined for our players surrounding the referee over a decision the other week, but when we "worked hard to improve that" we get punished for it. Are you trying to suggest if we'd surrounded the referee he'd have changed his mind? And how hard is it to say "Don't be cunts".

Seriously sick of the guy now. Come and get him, Villa.

I thought Pierre van Hooijdonk when I saw it earlier. You could see him throwing a wobbler if the club rejects offers in summer as well.

The more I watch that the more mental it looks. It should really go about ten yards wide and high.

Payet pissed around with St Etienne for years without moaning enough for Sky and the like to pick up on it so I'd be surprised if he had a strop over another season with West Ham.

He's like an old fashioned 90s import. Rocks up from the continent with a slightly edgy name and haircut, nobody has really seen him play much (although obviously we all play FM etc today, so know the name) and he is unexpectedly brilliant for what is normally a mid-table club. Bonus points for the talismanic set pieces.

Fuck, I've just read something else and it seems we are implicated - as well as Arsenal, Chelsea and Birmingham. Nobody from this squad though, I don't think. Brilliantly the article admits "we have no independent evidence of this". The claims look a bit weak for now but I've no doubt at all this shit is going on and that it's a matter of time before something more solid comes out. FOR FUCK'S SAKE.

There's no a chance that an untrue news story didn't involve the now mighty Leicester. Embrace the drama, son.

I agree, but I have no doubt that this stuff is widespread whatever the veracity of this particular story. They'll all be at it. The day the Barcelona/Spain story breaks.

Anyway about football, if this clasico showed something is that arrogant Ronaldo is miles better then the Argentinian midget.

Ronaldo may not play well but he is still a threat. While Messi you cut his " foot game" and he is a poor David Silva.

Also I heard Marcelo interview and how the fuck living in Spain since you are 15 and you still talk bad Spanish?!

The appeal ruling on Dr Fuentes' blood bags was due last month. The Spanish are probably frantically paying everybody off, since nothing has happened since.

This reaction in the media to yesterday is puzzling. It's all about tipping Arsenal to maybe go on a run now and them not being out of it yet.
Did anyone really think they weren't going to beat Watford or are they just really desperate for another NARRATIVE. Arsenal were never out of this.

They're seven points behind with seven games left and they've showed no signs of being a side that has the mental capacity to go on a run and win the league.

Spurs are still the best contenders to unseat Leicester, but I think it's a stretch to suggest they're going to do it as well.

Saying Arsenal have no mental capacity and thinking Spurs have They're the team most bereft of bottle in football.

Nope, take your anti-Spurs hat off and read it again.

Spurs are the best contenders because they're only 4 points off Leicester and have out-performed Arsenal all season. But, I'll say it again, I think it's a stretch to suggest that they're going to do it. Think about how far you're reaching when you say that Arsenal are going to win their last 7 games and subsequently the league, when they've done absolutely fuck all to suggest that they will.

Apart from West Ham it's a piece of piss though. Everyone talks about Arsenal like they're an absolute shambles but they know how to turn it on at this stage of the season (just as Spurs know how to down tools and bend over at this stage of the season). The difference this time is that they aren't turning it on to nick into the top four, they're doing it from a better position.

City away probably isn't, depending on circumstances.

The bigger problem is Leicester having a run of eminently winnable games. I suppose today is the first ACID TEST of their ability to handle THE PRESSURE OF THE RUN IN. If they can take 9 or 10 from their next 4 then I'm not sure anyone will catch them. 12 and it's done.

Football wise I don't care who wins it, though Leicester would be such an amazing story, but for financial reasons I'm all aboard the Arsenal bus now.

City lay down when they practically sacked their manager mid season, but didn't.

I don't think I've seen an Arsenal side 'turn it on at this stage of the season' for a good ten years now. There's a massive difference between scraping into the top four and going on an 8 game winning streak to claw back a 7 point deficit and win the league.

You also haven't factored Leicester into this theory whatsoever. As niko says, if they win their next four games, it's done anyway.

I don't fully believe in Leicester being able to see it out in such unchartered territory. I'd be quite happy to be wrong on that count though and the pressure of the battle at the other end last season will stand to them.

That Payet free-kick yesterday was a peach. First viewing I thought it'd taken a weird deflection to loop into the top corner so perfectly.

If Arsenal win their game in hand they are one point behind Spurs with an easier run in. To say Spurs are in it and Arsenal not is stupid at this stage. Frankly though I can't see either pulling it off.

I knew Leice'ster were doping. Finally the proof is out. It would be massively surprising if there isn't top level micro dosing of epo and the like in the sport. It's prevalent in nearly every other sport and this one has more money at stake than most.

If Leicester are doping I don't want to know about it. It's too good a story to end with a load of bans.
