Good job they're taxing milkshakes I guess since the kids aren't going to be getting any exercise.

Fee to use the playground. Those with money can enjoy a less crowded playground with state of the art amenities. The poor can wait indoors.![]()
Is anyone actually voting today?
No voting here as the local Tories have coup'd themselves a few more years apparently.
I did.
Considered spoilt ballot. Opted for Greens in the booth. Before 2024 this place was a very safe everything for the Tories. Quite interested to see how the vote is split this time around.
Just done mine. Labour and the Independent wifey got my crosses. I hope Reform eat shit.
We've got a big hotel full of asylum seekers here so might be a Reform landslide.
No elections here, democracy has been suspended by order of Rachel Reeves.
Same here. I have been ROBBED of the opportunity to vote for the English Defence Democrats (or whatever those Boomer cunts I accidentally voted for last time were caller) again.
Luke Campbell, our Olympic Hero, is odds-on to win in Hull but he is proper, proper thick. Not as in thick like lol politicians are idiots, but as in if he hadn't been a boxer he would be a roadsweeper or something. Hopefully they can put some capable nerds around him.
I cannot imagine a worse choice for anything that requires even a little bit of thinking than a boxer.
Oh dear oh dear. Racist England showing its true colours again. Garage for PM nailed on. What an embarrassment and unserious country.
Turn the clock back centuries to throwing shit out of windows and kids going back down mines? Retrying imperialism using force and the might of the British Army? And then getting upset when it collapses and all the brown people flock to the mother country?Originally Posted by Reform's Mayor wifey woman Dame cunt
What world do these toffs think they live in?
You can say what you like about Reform, but the one thing they are not is toffs.
They want to be.
I've lost count of the number of people I've seen saying a version of "Labour aren't left wing anymore, so I'm voting Reform!".
Which is a bit like saying, "Well, I ordered a Korma last time, but it was too Spicy, so I'll get a Vindaloo this time".
RL; drop the Asian geezer YouTube video please.
I can kind of see the logic in it tbh. People just want something different to the neoliberal shite we've had for the last 40 years. Reform are offering "change" regardless of what it is. Labour offered "change" at the last election and then promptly made it clear they were giving us more of the same which is why their polling has cratered within a year of the election.
I assume this insanely small margin is being touted as what the majority of the country has clearly voted for in a Trumpian style.
Yeah. 4 people change their vote (the Famileigh, let's say, if they live there) and the narrative shifts to 'Boost for Starmer as voters reject Farage' along with a load of bullshit scouse exceptionalism, which thankfully we have been spared by the result as is.
How long til Lord Sugar tells Kemi she's fire- err I mean the 1922 Committee letters arrive?
If I can't order off t'menu, I'll order off t'specials.
Would it though? What was the previous majority in that seat?
(It was about 15,000. Labour had 52% of the vote there and 22,000 votes. This time they had 12,000 votes and 38%. Lower turn out, obvs, but you also have to ask why people don't want to turn out to vote for them as well.)
Reform control Durham Council.![]()
Seems around here has gone massively Reform as well.
What we saw in June last year was an almost full scale rejection of the incumbent government.
Starmers lot have come in and immediately decided to raise taxes on the masses. This might have been palatable if they had given something back in exchange that said people want. Currently that biggest issue is immigration. They haven't done that, nor do they really seem to have on the face of it done anything positive since coming in.
Now I understand they badly need to balance the books and that they need to do that before anything good can really come in, but they will not get that time in places like where I live now. They're already sick of him and the "But it was the Tories that did this!" line.
So now we go back to a rejection of the incumbent government. Only this time it's Labour in charge, so the next place the 'we want something new' vote goes is to the next thing, which is currently Reform.
What is a guarantee will happen from here though is Labour/the left, will not learn from this very early warning. There are still 4+ years left to try to fix this after all. Instead they will look down their nose at the Reform vote, maybe try to belittle those people, call them the racists that they almost certainly are. Then we get to election day in 2029 and Reform are largest party and how can this possibly have happened?!
What won't 'move the dial' is just saying the same thing all the time. Are people not fed up of hearing "the people are hungry for change and we're hungry for change too"? Every single one of them drones it out at every opportunity. Stop the slogans. Smash the think tanks.
Labour will be judged at the next election on their record. I think they'll probably be able to hold off the reformtard vote.
See how well Andrea Jenkyns' tent city plans work for the people of whichever backwater hellhole she's now the mayor of.

Absolutely tone fucking deaf.
I cannot believe how widespread public sentiment regarding our continued involvement in that utter shitshow has not yet changed. So in that regard, it's probably not that tone deaf.
Kemi Badenoch, your boys took one hell of a beating.
Man, they weren't kidding about Durham council have £423m in debt. Why do we run councils like that?
Most council spending now is on adult social care and pretend scam stuff like taxis taking retards to school, all of which are legal requirements and can't not be paid for regardless of who you vote for, which basically makes voting for your local council a waste of time.
Seeing as we’re heading that way, what would a Reform government actually look like? Because the idea of spastics like Lee Anderson actually having high level executive powers makes me nervous. Would it be Trump-esque but worse?
What will probably cost Reform in the end is in-fighting and lack of discipline. Fairly low calibre of person in their ranks.
I heard a good point on BBC Breakfast yesterday: this is the start of them actually having to run things, after years of having no responsibility, and could show them up as incompetent fools in record time.
I'm hoping for an actual left wing party at some point. "We want something new" doesn't have to mean right wing.
Sadly, the closest we have is the Green Party at the moment.
The left has had such a bad 20 years with ID politics that it's hard to see them refashioning a popular offering any time soon. If they do it'll be thanks to burying the hatchet with the forces of common sense.
I predict the left to continue infighting about iddological purity to no avail and Reform councillors and Mayor will be able to walk into work every day wearing Bongo Bongo land merch to watch porn all day and still clean up come the next General Election because there is no way immigration will be sorted by then.
I'm not convinced normal pictures of Nigel Farage exist.
