General credulity of the masses is becoming a serious problem. We need to stop painting cynicism as a bad trait. It's a fantastic virtue.

Scepticism is alive and well when it comes to anything an authority has to say, which does leave the door open for all sorts of bullshit. Apparently 60s style doomsday cults are making a come back too, such is the appetite for meaning in this capitalist dystopia.

I do wonder how much the crumbling of Christianity in the West is to blame for many of the "identities" we have these days. Climate Change, Gender dysphoria, Veganism, you name it. They're basically just faiths with their own sets of beliefs and rules, but you kneel to St Greta of Stockholm instead of a man in a dog collar*.

He's spot on. The West = Christian civilisation and nothing else. Once it stops being about literal Christianity, then it's either about replacement belief systems that people tell themselves had superseded the real stuff, or it's about nothing and just crumbles to dust.

You don't need to do any work to convict mongs on Twitter, whereas investigating actual crime is a pain in the arse. So here we are.

In fairness, lots of people have been locked up for 'actual crimes' related to those riots.

Fuck the first amendment. There's obliviously a high degree of exemplary punishment there, but fuck 'em, the mongs need to be deterred. This is the government of GROWTH after all. Grow the prison population. What do you mean they have to let a bunch of sex offenders out to lock these idiots up?

Have no problem with people being properly punished for trying to incite a mob to burn people to death to be honest.

The first amendment is fine. It's just used incorrectly by retards who think, "I can say it." means they're also protected from the consequences. They are not and never were.

Nor do I really, but it only happened because they did so on camera and in footage posted on Social Media.

Now... steal a bike or rob a house and see how quickly the rozzers come for you. They won't. And that's where the argument falls apart.

Incite someone to do something? STRAIGHT TO JAIL.

Actually do something? Well, erm, do you have any video footage? No? All charges dropped.

Do you mean the American first amendment? If so, it definitely protects you from consequences, if the consequences are the government prohibiting you from "saying it."

What was the jail-worthy post btw? Surely not "mass deportation now", which is what is quoted in that article.

It seems a bit of a stretch to suggest that some sad bint posting shite on Twitter really incited anything. You wonder how many of these people have just been bounced into admitting it by the duty solicitor.

The police (certainly outside London and the transport networks) don't do any policing these days, it's quite deliberate, they aren't resourced to do so. Little more than a statistical recording office and box ticking operation.

Surrey has the lowest crime solving rate of any force in the country, I was told the other day, it's something like 3 or 4%. They don't try and are instructed not to try.

A friend of mine used to work for the BTP at Liverpool Lime St. He had a very binary view on things, and decided one month he was going to really go for it: he would issue no cautions, anyone caught breaking the law he would arrest. Made it 2 weeks before being hauled in because he was tanking the figures for their region. Said that was when he started just making cups of tea and looking for other jobs.

Mass deportation now, set fire to all the fucking hotels full of the bastards for all I care, while you're at it take the treacherous government and politicians with them. I feel physically sick knowing what these families will now have to endure. If that makes me racist so be it.
Why would you admit to inciting racial hatred for that? You see stronger stuff about Israel/Palestine every day. The only explanation seems to be that they were threatening to keep people on remand for years, which would explain the weird pro-diversity remarks in the sentencing. The Rule of Law.

I think it would be difficult to argue that "set fire to all the fucking hotels full of the bastards for all I care" isn't racial hatred.

I was watching QT last night and it was a perfect example of how absolutely tone deaf the Israel/Palestine stuff is and on a wider point people in general these days. Both 'sides' of the argument are incapable of appreciating the other properly (which is intriguing given very few people who gob off on the issue actually have any proper skin in the game) and the whole thing descends into a shit off about whose behaviour is worse, which is utterly irrelevant in solving the problem, if a solution is indeed even possible.

    Just awful.

The same is true of basically everything these days. Immigration is either Open Borders or Closed Borders, Climate Change is either Burn no fossil fuels or burn all the fossil fuels, etc.

Everything is binary. No room for nuance or thought. Just pick a team and parrot the catchphrases of your team into the void.

Just blow the fucking thing up. All the money they'll waste on surveyors and other experts will dwarf whatever the cost of sending a tsunami into whichever shithole ends up in the [non-existent] firing line. Is it Clacton? Could we wipe Clacton off the map?

Shoeburyness (an explosion would improve the place) and Thorpe Bay (full of rich cunts). I am in favour of the motion.

Clacton is a long way away but would also benefit from an explosion.

Pretty amazing how he can write all that self-indulgent pap and then in the penultimate paragraph refer to late capitalism as being somehow against him. Late capitalism, my darling, is the reason you are able to write all that euphemistic dreck in a major publication without being sent to some kind of gulag. Enjoy it while it lasts.

What with the king being shouted at by some hysterical woman in Australia, why is it that the most shrill 'indigenous activists' are often ostensibly white people?

And in other weird ethno-separatist news how am I only now learning that the Cornish have been some sort of protected minority in the UK for the past 10 years? My mum is from Cornwall, maybe I'll go down and berate the king in the style above the next time he's down there.

There's an epidemic of white people cosplaying as non-white in American academia. Brain disease, I think they call it. It's long been time for western culture to reassert itself over these people. You got conquered because you were fucking useless and we're better, as you prove by living like westerners now rather than sitting around in the wilderness waiting for the spirits to point you to which wild animal you should lob a tree branch at next. Deal with it. Oh and this post refers to Cornwall, lest anyone think I am racist.

In Australia in order to be considered an indigenous fella you need to be able to demonstrate ('prove' might be too strong) some ancestry, and then get the local tribe, who obviously benefit from increased numbers, to accept your claim. Then you are in, and you can apply for all sorts of stuff. Whenever you see some story like 'First Indigenous *profession*', it's always some guy with my skin tone who lived a perfectly normal suburban life until university.

Who was that pasty cricketer who said he was indigenous, and the only experience of racism he could come up with was people not believing him?

Part of me thinks Jason Gillespie might have claimed/had some sort of indigenous origin.

    Yeah, here we go:

Jason Gillespie is a descendant on his father's side of the Kamilaroi people of Indigenous Australians, and is the first acknowledged Aboriginal male to become a Test cricketer.
    His dad:
