You sure he didn't do a TTH and was wearing two jumpers?

These Reform gains are nothing to get excited about, these were strong Brexit party places last time. I'm taking the low side of this 13 seats.

Lib Dem man wearing a Sunderland shirt with a suit jacket is worse than anything the government have done in the last 14 years.

Labour have won, you absolutely fanny. The Reform votes are just Tories that didn't spoil their ballot or decide not to bother. They mean nothing. They'll be back to voting Tory next time.

The funniest thing for me isn’t the Reform numbers. It’s the annihilation of SNP. I only wish I could see that fat cunt Ian Blackford’s reaction.

I did not and I'd obviously correct my opinion if it's as bad as you say, but it's simply not helpful labelling them fascists. It doesn't address the issues, embolden's their current voter base and brings more to the party as well.

We went through all of this with Brexit, how the hell are we making the same mistakes again?

At some point people (including me) just have to deal with the fact that people everywhere in the entire history of the world have hated immigrants and the more of them there are, the more they hate them. Unchangeable, no matter how much virtue one thinks one gains by not hating them.

There were people on the ITV news last night who didn't know who Starmer was when they were shown a picture of him. Then they were told his name and still said they'd never heard of him. Some people just don't pay attention to anything. A lot of those people probably still vote, I guess.

My wife - much like myself - didn't know who to vote for, and decided while stood in the booth, by looking at the addresses of those standing. The Lib Dem option lives in our village, so she voted for him without any idea who he is or what the Lib Dems stand for.

I think Labour might be a higher number of seats than the exit poll and the Tories fewer. Could be wrong.

While that's probably true, when you hear that the population of Coventry came into the country in a single year it makes you wonder - I've never given a shit about immigration being a problem, but that sounds remarkably unsustainable.

Of course it's unsustainable and it's because our old friends 'business leaders' are addicted to wage suppression.

Quite surprised at the low turnouts. I would’ve thought people would go out and vote against the Tories.

The low turn out is because of the Tories. Many of their voters just haven't bothered this time.

Combination of it being a done deal that Labour would get a sizeable majority and apathy at their campaign I'd imagine.

Total inward migration was more like four times the population of Coventry last year (and the year before that). Net migration in the whole of 1997 was 48000. That's about three weeks worth now. This in a country that hasn't built a national scale reservoir since I was at nursery.

The lol thing about all of the 'far right'/fascism panic is that you could make it go away in an afternoon if you just did what the average voter - the average voter, not serious people like me - wants on immigration. The fact that they choose not to suggests that it either isn't a serious threat, or it is, but, for some inexplicable reason, they choose to prioritise the short-term welfare of foreigners over the long-term survival of their entire system.

BBC coverage is ludicrously bad. Just embarrassing to base a serious national operation up there in Salford, they don't have the quality of people for the job.

George Jones? No, he's not standing as a candidate, he was working on their campaign team. Campaign director or something.

Edit: sorry, an events organiser for Farage.

Tory gain Leicester East. Indians are fucking mental. Like the Gaza crowd, like in a completely parallel existence which has nothing to do with the broader UK experience.

And Keith Vaz, but the Tory vote held up ridiculously well.

Love to know what all these Gaza legend candidates think they can do about it as independents in the UK parliament. Sure they'll all represent their constituents wonderfully on all issues.

    George Galloway gone again

Out of interest what is immigration like north of the border? What percentage of the total UK migrants end up there, do they have the asylum seeker hotel takeovers etc? I didn't vote Reform, but there's a former posh hotel in my town been housing asylum seekers for ages now, resulting social media panic (rightly or wrongly) about foriegn men following women/taking pictures of children, and I got on the train the other day and it was one geezer on one table seemingly watching South Asian Tik Tok on his phone loudly between phone calls and another group at another table talking loudly in their native tongue.

In fact now I think about it when I got a taxi at the weekend the driver was on his phone to someone and that was another native language conversation. I can see why some people think this is concerning and feel like they aren't represented by either main party, especially people who previously lived in 99% white communities earlier in their lives and people tend to romanticise the past.
