I've not noticed it but can't say I've had to try it.

Just got a notification that the G4 is ready to update to Marshmallow. Hopefully it's as good as the version on the Z3.
.....
Don't, you've got an absolute beast.
.....
.....
Strange one that. Same notification repeating? Only time I've seen that happen is with Viber or Whatsapp so I presume it's one of those it's happening with. I've never found or heard of any way to stop it happening though.
If it's sms there may be a setting in your notifications settings for a repeat that may have been inadvertently switched on. Did anything happen previously to this like an OS update or anything?

My dad wants a new phone for Christmas so I'm looking for a proper budget smartphone. Like 50-60 quid. What's best at that price range? One of the Microsoft/Nokia Lumias?
He barely knows what apps are so being able to run lots of them doesn't matter much. Ease of use and decent battery life is probably most important.
So, my G2 went into the ground today, and since I've paid for it fully now I think I'll just replace it with a G4. It seems to be an alright phone, and even if the G5 is right around the corner I can't really wait.
Worth a look for anyone thinking of buying. It's all subjective but he's normally fairly on the ball.
Yeah, it got here a week ago. The V10 hasn't released in Sweden yet, and I got a good deal on the G4 so I'm basically paying the same now monthly as I was before for the G2.
It's a great phone, but I'm still trying to get used to some of the quirks. The main one being that the leather has the stitching going right along the middle of the back, which makes it wobble when it's on flat surfaces...![]()
Has the 6.0 update reached you yet? Makes such a difference. I was going to buy a 6P but it's made me hold on now for the G5.
There is normally a plastic back in the box too, though it still rocks a bit. I've 5 backs gathered up now but the best I've found is the plastic with a skin on it.
Yeah, I got 6.0 installed immediately. It seems like a decent upgrade, some really useful stuff in there.
I got back from work the other day to the Mrs telling me her phone had died. She says it was really hot, as in uncomfortable to hold hot, for quite a while and unresponsive. She says she left it to cool down and tried it afterwords. Well now it wont turn on, charge or do anything.
Took it back to Carphone Warehouse as it's a hardware issue and is still within 12 months of purchase. Guy there tells me because of the cracks, the warranty is void and Apple would charge full whack, to essentially write the phone off and supply a refurb/new one. Looking at Ł200+
Am I just fucked in this situation or is there a way I can get out of this for cheaper?
You could put on a pair of trousers and make her pay for it.
Check your house insurance policy.
Or put on a pair of trousers and tell her to get to fuck.
I don't have any insurance. More fool me I guess.
Best suggestion I've heard is take some out with someone, wait a few weeks and then put a claim in.
Seriously, why are you forking out for her? Is she unemployed or something?
Well if she gets a job we have to put the kids into nursery, which costs so much that she might as well not work.
Ah the old living outwith your means scenario. I pity thou.

Get a $50 phone and be done with it.
Due for a new phone. Think I'm going to switch from O2 to EE.
What's a decent model to go? I'm not going for the top tier price-wise. I saw what looked like a good deal on an iPhone 5s, nothing up front and Ł30 a month with unlimited calls/texts and 1GB data (plenty for me). What are the best Android phones in a similar price range?
Buy a one plus. It's great and the battery life makes it worthwhile.
Is that massive?
I was looking at the Xperia Z5 Compact. I'd prefer something that sort of size. I'm not all that impressed with HTC having had an M8 mini for a while. It started off fine but has been incredibly slow for the past year.
EDIT: Hang on, I thought One Plus was HTC but it isn't, is it?
I went with the 6S in the end because EE were throwing about some decent data packages for sub-Ł50 a month, and honestly it's easier being able to interface directly with my iTunes library rather than fuck about moving select stuff over all the time.
I'd steer clear of at least the compact versions of the Xperia, for the Z3 they seemed to cheap out a little on the build so they were cracking for a whole host of people.
The OnePlus 2 sounds very impressive but it definitely looks phablet sized. Not sure I can be arsed with carrying something like that around all the time, and sadly the X sounds like it's nowhere near as good.
I fucking hated the 5c and the 5s.
Spent half my time sticking the bloody thing in airplane mode and out again to fix my data. Also after sticking a couple of apps on it the OS would freeze quite regularly and the swipe shortcuts would constantly be fucked. Was not a one off, as I had three different handsets from work. Spent most of my time swearing and the little piece of shit. The 6s looks good though.
I'm still rocking my G3, it's such a beast. Sister has picked up the Z5 compact, she's happy with it. I wouldn't be put off by the size of the larger phones Toby. Before I bought my G3 I had always had smaller handsets and the thought of using and carrying one of the beasts just sounded stupid to me. I went with the G3 as it seemed great anyway, and it took me about a day to decide the G3 is actually the perfect size, any bigger and it'd be a cunt to use and now using smaller phones just pisses me off. I'd also be disappointed by the lack of a full HD screen on the likes of the Sony compacts, after experiencing the glory of the G3 screen.
OnePlus X Tobes, not the 2.

If you're getting an iPhone, are can they do you a deal on at least a 6.
Is the Two good if I get over the size thing? It sounds like a beast in every other respect.
I wouldn't have it because it doesn't have NFC but that's not a big deal for most people. In every other way it's very good.
Nexus 5X is worth a look too as it's on reduction direct from Google. It doesn't feel as nice as the OP2 but the camera is better in the 5X and it has an infinitely better fingerprint scanner.
I've no use for fingerprint scanners or NFC. The Nexus and OP2 are closer on cost than I thought they might be so I may go for the former. Think I'll hang on until I'm down in Edinburgh later in the month so that I can go into the EE store to see if they can do any better deal than what's available on their website.
I haven't suffered any issues with my oneplus x. It works perfectly well doing any function and once you work out that there is a sticker over the camera, you're left with a cracking phone. Only negative is the size, it's a little clunky.
I'm thinking wrong too on the Oxygen OS thing too. It's Cyanogen that can get a bit weird.
http://www.theguardian.com/money/201...d-party-repair
Surely must be a mistake/overreaction as it couldn't be legal.
If anyone has an iPhone 6 onwards that has had its screen repaired by a 3rd party. Don't update to iOS9.
There is software in it that will detect the change of the home button and it will brick your phone.
EDIT: Beaten by seconds.
Whatever about the 3rd party repairs, which is bad enough, but killing the phone under update if you have a damaged fingerprints sensor that you haven't got repaired would really be pulling the piss.
Sounds like its all home button related from what I read so as long as none of that was changed it should be good
It's quite the pisstake. Though this could explain the Mrs phone bricking itself last week.
IPhone is fucked so currently have the s6. Am I being dense - probably - but shouldn't I have 4g on this s6 if I transfer the sim?
Does the S6 have a nano sim, or are they iPhone only?
Not sure about the actual question, Waff, but that was my initial thought.
