The government's issue is that the governing party ran out of talent ages back (probably when Cameron went) and so a small section of one particular party, with very few competent individuals, has been at the tiller since. This has massively narrowed their horizons compared even to the 2010-15 government and also demotivated the civil service who are the people who make things actually happen. They have ceased to be a national party as they were until 2016, and started to be the party of white reactionaries and Hindu nationalists. This version of the Tories should by rights have been chucked out in the election subsequent to 2015, but we've had two since then and because the opposition leader in both was the most useless, dangerous, treacherous cunt they could possibly have chosen, they somehow got away with it. Finally they will go next time in a massive landslide and it will be deserved, and actually the last 5 years will have cost them any chance of getting in for the next twenty.
The same thing will eventually happen to Labour. They will hope that they have enough talent to get them through three winning cycles again and make substantial changes. Keir Starmer is a twat so the leader after him will be more important I think.
