I would've given it. It's the kind of shambles you should be punished for.

Do I not understand the offside rule? Why was that supposedly offside with a defender behind Benzema?
He was behind the goalkeeper
'Mon now Yev...
At least Yev got his answer![]()
You can't be offside in your own half, too. I learned that the other day.
You always have to have 2 defenders playing you onside, it's just the keeper counts as 1 of them in 99.9% of occasions.
As for the game, Livepool clearly a superior team but fancy Real to win it.
In Yev world then no-one would ever be offside. You could just stand in front of the keeper all day. That's why it's 2 players. Ignore Spikey using the world outfield. It's just 2 players.
2022 and people still don't understand the offside law. Outstanding effort.
Cheers for clarifying the prior explanations though Phonics and Browning.
The initial iteration back in the days of yore was three players even, if memory serves me well.
Good shit.
Can't be offside from a goal kick (remember Klose in whatever dreadful world Cup debacle the Lampard non-goal was) either for the didn't know that rules chumps. Offside rule is a doozy when you really get into it though.
The in your own half one comes up alot. Especially if you've ever played a game of football.
There's no unfair advantage to your foot being a mm ahead of someone elses when you're facing the other way but them's the rules.

Still makes me laugh.
Yeah it actually happens somewhat often. Maybe not in actual goals, but a lot of counter attacks from corners happen that way.
Has Shindig suffered a head injury recently?
This has got a Real smash and grab written all over it.
And there it is.![]()
This Madrid team are great. They play what Ole Gunnar Binman thought he was seeing.
Was always going to happen. Liverpool have been impotent up front.
Liverpool haven’t done anything since the 30th minute. Hardly a smash and grab.
‘Trent’awful as usual
You dont have to receive the ball in your half. You have to be in your own half when the ball is played. Imagine the halfway line is the line they draw for VAR.
Pretty sure Torres in 2012 is a prime example of this discussion. 99% sure he is in his own half, behind the last outfield player but in his own half when the ball his played. He then takes his first touch in the Barcelona half IIRC after chasing down the hoof.
How come the Liverpool end of the ground doesn't have any stairwells?
Courtois is insane
I'm a twit
Playing modern high-level football can't be enjoyable at all.
