I had the butcher again the other day having his little rant (he forgot that he had already told me all this) that the vaccines were only a cod because if they worked nobody would have caught it. He's friendly enough with the wifes family so I just agreed with him and waited for my steak.
He sounds mental, but they sure as shit don't necessarily stop you catching it.
"Careful with Daddy, his back will go again"
I was only joking as well..
Anyone having kids before 35 is quite clearly proper trashy takeaway dinners infront of the tele type scum.
It should be fine for a man of 40+ to have children, providing the mother is below 21 years of age.
You'd be like some rapey old cunt down the school sports day.
Australia waiving in Djokovic under some sort of medical exemption from having been vaccinated is pretty lol even by their standards. I know a few full to the eyeballs with vaccine people who were denied travel when the borders were supposed to have opened [to visit family not seen for years] due to their incompetent visa admin system. I know they have form for it with famous people, but it's a total outrage.
Also, obligatory lol at some 'Europeans'.
Family friend Pierre-Jean Chalençon said they had left it too late to seek hospital treatment, deciding it was similar to flu. "People have said they were anti-vaxxers but they absolutely weren't," he told BFMTV. "Several friends told them to get themselves vaccinated but they felt because of their lifestyle and their [lack of] comorbidity, they weren't at risk of Covid."
I bet the lads at the passport office are thrilled at the prospect of daily testing.
My dad is knocking on for 60 with a 4 year old son.
The local BBC news has been on for fifteen minutes, and every second of it has been calling for new restrictions, asking a doctor why he thinks the Prime Minister wants to 'gamble' with not doing so, moaning teachers... I'm sure the first BBC question when Johnson was on earlier was along the same lines. Imagine if this sort of shit was your only news content. No wonder people are mental.
Mocking dead people is always a classy move.
Foe summed it up well on the previous page when he said that government interference should have stopped when the vaccine was deployed (and enough people had had it) - that it's still intervening and a significant proportion of people want even more interference is a complete joke.
As for the BBC, they've been a disgrace for well over a year on this.
There's definitely a different feel from reading this message board and the other one I frequent to what it's like when you're in school.
It's kind of understandable, as when you're stuck inside a small classroom with 30+ kids and a few adults for 30 hours a week (not to mention 200+ assemblies and mixing with the rest of the staff in the staff room who have been with their own classes all day) it does put a slightly different perspective on it, even though I am in the 'let's just crack on with things' camp.
I'd say at the moment the feeling is more along the lines of an inevitable outbreak, but we'll see.
The inevitability of catching this is the reason I held back on getting my booster.
It would be interesting to see the child hospitalisation rates pre and post Covid. I can't imagine there's much in it.
I missed that. U wot shinners.
Macron really is a turd, isn't he.
Sounds like testing (no need for PCR after positive LFT for asymptomatic) and restrictions (testing for international travellers) are about to be eased. Allahukbar, we almost there, baby.
The SCIENCE wankers, aided by the media, are going to be intolerable over the next few days, but it does look like Boris is holding firm.
With shit like this:
Dr Mike Tildesley, from the University of Warwick and a member of the Scientific Pandemic Influenza Modelling group (Spi-M), told BBC Breakfast the next few days were key - although there was some cause for optimism.
"It does look like we may be in a situation where - we're getting cases very, very high - but there's early evidence that things might be turning around in London," he said.
"The problem, of course, is that if you're thinking about introducing controls, once you're beyond the peak of the infection, then that has much less effect."
Had some quality heads-have-gone discourse with the bloke sitting next to me earlier. He's in a right tizzy about testing requirements for travellers being dropped. 'They could bring anything here!'
Imagine if these people talked about immigrants in this way.
She said: "Why would I not give protection to the most precious thing in the world to me, my daughter, rather than run the risk of her turning round to me in five, 10, 15 years' time, saying 'Mum, I've got heart problems, I've got brain problems, I've got lung problems, why didn't you do all you could at the time to protect me'?"
Wait till she hears about the vaxxine side effects...
I want to know what sort of VENTILATION people who are going mental think ought to be installed in schools. Short of massively intrusive industrial units, which might make teaching difficult, what would actually be better than opening windows? Are people just obsessing over it because it sounds like a clever technological solution?
Because its freezing.
They're obsessing over it because it's their only way in to bleating about schools (and the OUR CHILDREN emotive hook and consequent RTs/likes it provides) without demanding they be closed.
People like Deepti, 'Dr Zoe Hyde' etc have a market that needs content churned out.
Yeah, but has anybody asked them what sort of systems they want in place? I don't have all these people on my Twitter feed. I only see them through people lolling at them, so I never follow the actual arguments.
Deepti only replies to people that agree with her so I doubt it.
The Lateral Flow Tests are a steaming pile of wank. My wife took a test 7 days ago because she was going to visit an elderly relative and tested positive. On day 6, she tested negative. It's now day 7 and she has tested positive again. WTF?
They're more likely to give you a false negative. That's partly been one of the issues with them.
Ventilation in schools (no I don't know what that looks like) should be improved if only for the reduction of co2 concentration leading to poorer cognitive function. See taz and magic to see the long term impacts.
