The bloke accused of it sounds like textbook tranny material, so him eventually wanting into a women's prison will be something.

He was on the diplomatic beat so he probably wasn't trusted to do proper policing.
It did seem like a weird one to my amateur eye in that the police making such a massive amount of door to door enquiries quickly doesn't seem like a normal 'nationally reported news item' when someone goes missing.

sarah-everard-green-partys-baroness-jones-suggests-6pm-curfew-for-men
Lol
Good idea. Now get the police out on the streets to enforce it.
Oh.
Make it ten o'clock for men generally, and then tick it down for specific sub-groups that commit even more violent crime.
QLD Labor would never dare suggest a curfew for men. Who else is going to piss their money away in pokie rooms untill 4am everynight?
Old women? Or do they get it all done in the afternoons?
I reckon they'd be put off by the type of late night pokie feind.
Covid QR sign in has cleaned up the pokie rooms at the 3 pubs I go to. Pre covid they were rooms for crack heads to gather.
From my understanding old ladies go to the Leagues Clubs and they arent open untill 4am. Edit: Whoops Im wrong Easts Leagues is open to 3am.

I might have told this not very exciting story before, but my paternal grandmother (who died before I was born) worked at Bletchley Park during the war. Whilst there she made friends with another woman (let's call her Joan) who lived near her. After the war they stayed best friends to the point it was that situation where her kids (my dad etc) called this lady 'Auntie Joan'. When Joan's husband and my grandmother both died in the 70s, there wasn't much left here for Joan so she upped sticks for the weather and moved to Australia, specifically to Penrith in NSW. My parents kept in touch with her over the years, writing letters etc or whatever people used to do to keep in touch in the 80s and 90s.
Fast forward to 2001 and our family (including 13 year old me) goes on holiday to Australia for a sort of 'trip of a lifetime' month long thing. On the way round we of course make time to go to Penrith and stop in with a now very elderly Joan and buy her lunch. My dad asks her where the best restaurant is around there. She scoffs at the idea of going to a restaurant and says 'Let's go to the club'. We are puzzled as to what 'the club' is, so she gets in the back of our big hire car and directs us a few blocks away, to what turns out to be Penrith Panthers rugby league. Confused by this, we all get out and have dogshit sausage and chips in the canteen/restaurant there, which is about 25% of the floor space. The rest of the space is entirely taken up by old people on pokies. Joan soon joins in and we're all just left standing there in the middle of Australia watching a whole army of pensioners gamble their savings away thinking 'wtf?'
So yeah, that was how I learned about Australian high culture. Then a few years later we got a call from down under during Christmas dinner to tell us Joan had snuffed it. That was a festive moment.
Mate, you were in Penrith. The Leagues club probably was the best option.
I learned about them from Bill Bryson Down Under. I've never been to a casino and barely ever to one of the 'arcades' you see in Glasgow, but at uni there was a snooker hall which was above one.
Properly depressing when you'd see people just sat there joylessly feeding all their money into it. The one that really sticks out to me is a woman who was probably about my age now just sitting there surrounded by the bags of her weekly shop doing it. Presumably with something either spoiling or slowly defrosting or whatever.
Promising news.Novavax becomes latest vaccine to show high levels of efficacy
The Novavax vaccine, which will be produced in Teesside if approved, has been found to be more than 96% effective in protecting against the original strain of COVID-19.
It was also found to be 100% effective at preventing severe illness.
The UK has 60 million doses of the Novavax vaccine on order.
Edit: shit, wrong thread. Fuck it.
It is truly disgusting how we let our State Govenment rinse our poor people. The QLD Labor mob run by the most revolting hypocrites refuse to remove 4am pokie rooms in almost every suburb in Brisbane.
Last July QLD spent $293 million on pokie machines.

Well yes, she's still got partially defrosted salmonella for the kids later after she's lost it all.
I like a gamble, but I don't think I'd derive any enjoyment from feeding coins into a machine that has a 5% margin on it or whatever. That said, doing it once you might at least get lucky. Doing it all afternoon, you will definitely lose.
My mate at uni had a ludicrous success rate with the fruit machine (what do other parts of the UK call these? I remember being surprised to move to Scotland and learning they called it a puggy) but that was because he'd watch and see when people had been feeding money into it and getting nothing.
A guy who insisted on lurking around us at the union was stood next to him once when he won £150 and seriously tried to claim half of it was his because it was a "team effort."
I worked down the local theme park when I was 16 and the arcade paid for my lunch most days. There was an arcade in clear view of most of the rides and I'd just watch to see which was being loaded up for the half hour before my lunch break. Glorious.
The only thing better was the steady sound of coins dropping from people's pockets when they were on the "the claw" which turned upside-down and span around. Routinely pulled in £20 odd at the end of each shift on that just walking around and collecting the shrapnel.
That's standard protocol amongst the fiends. Ah to be in their presence once again in 4 weeks time
Edit: get the fuck out of the way, you melt.
I remember some young couple feeding pound after pound into the fruit machine when I worked behind the bar in the working man's club, continually coming back asking me for change as time ticked on. Eventually they passed the point of no return where they had managed to put more than half the total £100 jackpot in and were now chasing. Think they got to about £80 down by last orders, genuine panic in their eyes. Then I kicked them out and mopped up their hard earned losses.

Why should they be treated different to the 'rules'.
Middle class white women simultaneously finding out that 1) there is violent crime out there; and 2) that there are double standards in policing. Unlucky ladies.
Jimmy will be delighted to see that forcing people to stay at home is their answer to literally everything.
Why/how has this Everard case caused a Women's safety movement?
Educate me.
Because she looks like people with cultural/media influence, and it wasn't a foreigner/non-white person who [appears to have] done it.
Still don't get it, that sort of thing has happened loads of time before and we don't even know what's happened to her, do we?
Nailed it. It's bollocks.
I'm not even saying it's bollocks, I just want to understand.
How has someone presumably getting accosted on Clapham common, murdered and dumped somewhere resonated with so many people from a shared experience perspective?
I'm also not sure what's being asked for either. It's appalling that some men commit the acts they do against women but what's the solution?
This is what I was getting at with my statement on the previous page.
I can fully understand and sympathise with the sentiment the journalist woman (McCann?) had about 'choosing the more well lit route home', but not walking through Clapham Common at night (in my case it was not walking through Finsbury Park at night) is a judgment call everyone has to make, not just women, even if they are at 'greater risk'. I suppose the weird irony is probably that, statistically speaking, you're likely at greater risk of being mown down by a bus on a well lit road than you are to be the victim of something like this, but we humans don't deal well with rational decision making a lot of the time.
Because if she knew him well it changes the context entirely as she wouldn't have been safe from him whether she was on the street or not.
EDIT: In reply to me not Niko.
It doesn't really matter. A woman went missing on her way home, was found dead a week later and a copper is the main suspect. Plenty there to get the socials going.
I think it would have been big news at the best of times, but as with BLM, if people weren't bored rigid it wouldn't be getting this much attention.

That sums it up. Not one mention of the former in the latter. The response is very white middle class woman as well with all the learning and the bullshit. Even nonces and psychos know this stuff is wrong. That's half of why they do it, and the female barrister all over the news yesterday should know that more than anyone since she's probably kept enough of the cunts in society and spends her spare time opposing stop and search.
Watching a Newsnight thing on it now and unless I'm mistaken there seems to be a conflation between women being inappropriately spoken to and murder. I'm so confused.

Eddie Izzard bragging about being 'promoted to she' on the same Guardian front page as a load of dead women.![]()
White middle class London women literally couldn't give a flying fuck about Chinese girls being killed in chip shops in the valleys. What matters, and what produces the media shitstorm (because they are, wait for it, powerful people with voices) is the fact that they feel like the Sarah Everard one could have been them, and it arouses the fear that is embedded in their sense of having something to lose, in the same way that Brexit does, in the same way that Covid does. Most of them are even saying that out loud - that 'This could have happened to me' - not realising what it is that it actually means when they say that.
If male violence were the issue then these people would give a shit about Wenjing Lin. Alas male violence is not the issue (it should be the issue). It's just something they use as cover for the real issue, which is that they think that they've paid up, so the places they hang out should be safe from crime. Fuck the valleys, who lives there?
Clubs are shut and a lot of women are lacking the good dicking they need to set them straight.
Meanwhile in a poorer area you wot mate. That's the actual slippery slope. Not shouting tits out of a van.
He really, really wants to take himself out. Before the charges were confirmed, Mr Couzens was taken to hospital for a second time in two days after being found with head injuries inside his cell.
I don't think I'd ever fancy a stretch in prison, but if I were a copper that murdered a young woman I reckon I'd take a dose of Ebola over it.

Vigils cancelled.
An announcer for a live stream of an Oklahoma girls’ high school basketball game cursed and called one team by a racial epithet as the players knelt during the national anthem, then suggested his diabetes was to blame for the episode in a statement expressing his regret.
Incredible. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/20...ll-racial-slur
Why does the press care so much about this Sarah Everard? Loads of people go missing.
I'm a twit
