I don't want to claim any huge expertise, but I read quite a bit at the time and it certainly seemed that he was acting entirely within the powers of the presidency. People (Democrats) may not have liked it, but it's not as if he made a secret of it on the campaign trail either.
It's obviously a different question whether the range of powers concentrated in one office / one individual is reasonable, but that's for another day.
Obama stopped refugee processing, whilst Trump is attempting to stop all citizens from those countries from entering the US. They are very different, and you know that.
This is one thing that I will never understand, and both sides do it - the obvious misdirection and lack of policy ownership. Anyone with half a brain can read about this and realise that the two cases are completely different - yet people try and claim that this is just an extension to Obama's policy. Take responsibility of it - just say "we want to ban all people from these countries, because we are scared of what they might do" (I understand why they don't do that, do its no less frustrating).
@Mert On this specific policy - where has the 90 days come from? Given that 90 days has now lapsed since the original executive order was passed without incident - is there a legitimate argument to be made that it's not needed. The proof after all, is in the pudding. Would you want the 90 extended to a year, 5 years etc.?
These latest tweets.![]()
It's a new low, and that's saying something.
What the fuck?![]()
It's a bloody great bot that. Makes it all the more surreal.
I don't even know what any of that means.
I read it that some TV host who he doesn't watch anymore speaks badly of him. Someone else, possibly related asked to join him at a party and he refused to let them. Said person was bleeding after having a facelift.
Also, did anyone hear him leering at the Irish reporter in the Oval Office yesterday?
Onya Donald.
His Buzz Aldrin exchange from yesterday is wonderful.

He's like an American Hugh Grant. With dementia.
And a learning disability
I've finally muted Donald Trump on twitter. I've never followed him anyway, but it's got to the stage where I just don't want to know what he's saying.
At least part of the reason for this tweeting has to be as a distraction from the disgraceful legislation that they're trying to push on healthcare.
Nah, he's just retarded.
Buzz's internal response must've been, "Fuck it, I'll be dead soon."
I didn't realise it was his actual account for a minute.
Oh fuck, that's actually brilliant![]()
They probably should start laying the groundwork to invoke the 25th in some capacity.

Fucking hell, so he has.
How, in FUCKING AMERICA, has he not been assassinated yet? I mean, he is trolling the whole nation.
I occasionally watch Fox News to see what they're up to. They are solidly behind him. You'd think he was Abraham Lincoln by how they go on.
Fox News would have hated Lincoln.
"Abolishing slavery would put a strain on the jobs market."
There must be a term full of material in that programme.

It's almost as if they didn't expect it when they voted for Republicans in Congress and a Republican in the White House.
I honestly think he's not all there.
EDIT: But yeah, if this healthcare bill goes through, they'll get exactly what they were promised. A royal screwing.
The "this promotes violence against a free press" reaction is just as lol as the fact the the POTUS posted that video meme thing.
Are they culturally required to promote the authenticity of pro wrestling?
It's a stupid response, but they can't really come out and say "you're acting like a child, and not one of the switched-on kids at the front either - the one at the back eating glue out of his ear".
Well, they can.
The problem is they've jumped over him for trivial shit, which means when he does things that are actually stupid everybody is forced to repeat the same lines about how "enough is enough".
That's the sort of thing that should just have been given aand everybody gets on with their lives. Instead they're now covering that, rather than the healthcare bill. That's probably what he intended, too.
The best thing about the Trump video tweet?
The POTUS account is an official arm of the communications of the Executive Branch, meaning that video as well as a description of it will have to go into the National Archives. A historian is going to run across that in 100 years and wonder what went on.
Apparently Trump once called into a talk show pretending to be his own agent, started talking shit to defend himself and was discovered.![]()

The most annoying thing about that tweet is that double space after the comma. Dolt..
Oh good.
Dick-waving. That's always solved things in the past. Great job!
Not that I'm averse to a less passive response to the Koreans, but you suspect the only people who can "fix" it are the Chinese. And they're presumably not hugely interested when they can leverage their influence there to get away with other things.
