Yep. Was obvious. The RedSkins are crap.

Oh and let's all lol at Desean Jackson for, once again, forgetting to take the ball all the way to the end zone.
https://cdn3.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/Dwl...5/desean.0.gif
That's the greatest one though, although the fumble before crossing the goal line runs it close.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...for-first-time
I'll be all over that.
Hopefully Sky shows it. I highly doubt it.
We interviewed Coughlin today which makes 6 interviews and 5 candidates left. I'm not sure there is anyone else lined up. They were on about the Bengals defensive coordinator but I'm not all too sold on that.
Indeed, I'll just download it though.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...e-games-by-nfl
Burfict suspended for three games.
No fucking about there.
Yeah definitely the defensive. There's no interview officially announced though so we might not even do that. Jackson is supposedly to be offered the 49ers job today but may want to wait on the Giants.
In other news the team to LA meeting starts today. Rumors are that the Rams are currently the only ones that are likely to get the required 24 votes to move. The other proposal going in is to have the Chargers and Raiders share a stadium. The concern for this one is teams not being certain on how the Raiders will hold up after the move.
The Cowboys are to propose that the Rams and the Chargers move and share together as that plan would prove very popular. Either way we could have 0, 1 or 2 LA based teams by the end of Wednesday.
National Championship highlights (not wonderful ones at that).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8xg_CFcAec
Denver at home with a REVITALISED Peyton Manning against a "banged up" Steelers who are the lowest seed.
Can't think of a single way for this to disastrously wrong.
40 Peyton interceptions, please?
He can't throw more interceptions than passes, silly.
23 interceptions.
I'm thinking he'll make it through the Steelers game. Just. But then the Manning hype train will completely de-rail in the championship game.
Don't forget the fumbles in the running game, and then Osweiler being brought on with a pat on the back once Denver are 17 points down in the fourth quarter.
(That's (obviously? :uhoh:) not going to happen but I don't have a good feeling about this weekend because it feels too much like a should-win.)
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...option-to-join
The LA Rams are back.
Chargers have the option to share the stadium if they so choose.
Chargers have a year to decide to join or not. Should they reject a move, the Raiders will get the offer instead.
Both the Chargers and Raiders will be given $100m if they can build themselves a new stadium.
Understandably St. Louis are a bit pissed but this was all pretty obviously coming. They had apparently offered a $1.1bn project to the Rams for a new home on the water front. There's murmurings that the Chargers could be offered this deal to go to St Louis, but it's complicated by the upcoming vote in San Diego. Said vote is to decide whether the city will provide $350m to the team to build them a new place in San Diego.
Thank fuck for that! I'd grown sick fed up of this LA shit for the entirety of my time watching NFL so that it's a) happening and b) nearly completely resolved is a god send.
NFL network probably imploded from having something extra to wank off about.
Started supporting the rams as a young kid back in their LA days. So with the return meaning probably more media coverage and far more chance of visiting the city I'm pretty happy. Pretty crappy on St Louis though
Browns have hired Hue Jackson and given him 'significant personnel control' which many are taking to believe that he'll punt Johnny Dickhead out the door.
So how will McAdoo-do-do? :checkit:
I'm hoping for some kind of advisor to come in and mentor those two because Spags was an absolute catastrophe in St Louis as head coach.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...-as-head-coach
Chip Kelly is now 49ers head coach.
In other news, Coughlin has withdrawn his application to the Eagles. We've now missed out on our 2 top targets. I hope we don't go and make a panic appointment.
We've apparently all but hired Doug Pederson, to be announced after the Chiefs go out of the play offs.
Antonio Brown is also out for this weekend.
The media are wanking themselves furiously at the prospect of Colin Dickhead in 'THE SYSTEM'.
Even if he plays it will be amazing when they realise he can't pass for shit again.
It'll start well, but then it will dawn on them that they don't have a good QB, or any WRs.
It looks like Johnny Football has finally burnt his last bridge in Cleveland. It was a clause of Jackson taking the job that he goes.
I'll still laugh at Chip Kelly's shambles but it's not in the same division as the Giants so I won't be as enthused as I was at the Eagles shambles.
Antonio Brown out with Concussion.
Broncos to run roit.
Should of saw Fox's post earlier :moop: Big Ben still questionable I imagine?
Big Ben will play unless he tears his arm off in training. He's limited but looking at the end of the Bengals game he'll be fine.
Yeah, Ben will start but it wont take long for Miller or Demarcus Ware to take him out of the game.
Gents staying up to watch Chiefs vs Pats tonight and Green bay vs Arizona?
I'm going to watch the first and record the second. Think the first one could be a good contest, but feel like the packers will crumble against the cardinals.
I'll be watching both if I can. The first most certainly.
I think the Patriots and the Cardinals are both going through. Chiefs are on a roll, but they lack any punch on offense without Maclin, while the Patriots are just getting players back from injury. Of course the Chiefs defense is fantastic so it will be very close.
Packers will probably play well in Arizona, but they have a worse team in just about every position but QB. That all being said, it's the play-offs and anything can happen.
Yeah, I'll probably watch the early game, but I'll have to bail on the second as I have to work tomorrow :(
Hoping for a Chiefs upset & a Cardinals win, but it'll probably be Pats/Cards, and the chances of a Packers win are greater than expected before last weeks game.
EDIT: Maclin's active, although I can't imagine he'll make much of an impact. They'll need a big game from Spencer Ware/Alex Smith, or a monster game from the defence, I feel.
I've had the Cardinals in the sweepstakes from before the start of the season, so I'll hoping for a win for them.
Should they keep Rodgers planted in the pocket, they should be good.
Smith fooled the camera man on that 3rd and 13. :D
Someone needs to smash Brady in the face. He's really easy to hate.
I was expecting a very close game here. The limitations of the Chiefs passing offense is very clear though.
So much time wasted in this drive, pissing hell.
They deserve nothing on this. They've wasted at least a minute of game clock on this drive.
Never seen a team go into a huddle in a 2 minute drill.
What the fuck is this clock management?
This is all out panic I think.
Over 5 minutes for that drive...
They also could have used timeouts before the 2 minute warning and been able to kick it to New England and hope their defence stops them.
Kicking the onside kick right to Gronk.
Smart.
You can tell which team is used to playing in the play-offs here.
Well that's just pure luck.
That's really unfortunate, but there should still be another minute or two left on that clock.
Oh well. Patriots in the Championship game yet again. Can't really see the Broncos/Steelers stopping them either.
I think in a 100m race I would beat Eddie Lacy.
That or we'd sack it off after 50m and go get something to eat.
Carson Palmer has had a few shocking throws.
It's like he's back in Oakland.
They had all the momentum there too. He had best pick it back up when he gets back out there.
A bit of Patriots luck there.
Cardinals riding every inch of that luck there. This is going to get nervy.
And with that the Packers should have thrown the game away. Though I'm sure Palmer will do his best to change that.
Not a bad time to get your first sack of the game.
Rodgers is so very good in these situations.
Oh fuck off.
That's not a catch for me. But still fuck right off.
EDIT: It's a catch.
Rodgers might just be better than Doug Flutie at a hail mary.
He's just absolute nonsense.
Palmer to throw a pick 6. Calling it now.
Palmer
Fitz
Larry Fitz is a fucking monster.
What a fucking call.
Fitz
What a man, he deserves a Superbowl ring.
If the Cardinals go all the way I'm buying a Larry Fitz jersey with my winnings.
That was an awesome game. Aaron Rodgers deserves so much more than 1 ring.
It's not just Brady, although he does have an eminently punchable face, it's everything about the patriots from Kraft, to Belichek, to the way they play, to their shitty logo, there's nothing to like. I still can't believe they scabbed the superbowl last year. Shame KC couldn't get up, although I gave up on them at halftime and went to bed.
Fell asleep not long after the Gronk scored his second TD. Looks like things picked up after that, and the second game sounds pretty exciting, so I'll have to watch them on GamePass when I get some time.
My Chiefs heavy Playoff Challenge lineup is ruined now though :( Guess I'll have to load up on Patriots instead.
The playoff challenge is bullshit because you'll always get some dick who predicts the exact team who will go to the Superbowl and win it because of the mental bonuses.
I did put Gronk in from week one though so that's not too shabby.
If the Hawks lose though I'm fucked.
The Hawks are going all the way. The luck is with them after their last game.
Time to see what Cam Newton is all about though.
Yeah, I was gambling on KC, but that didn't quite pan out. I now only have David Johnson, Antonio Brown and Wilson/Olsen that are still in play :D
That escalated quickly. :p
Woof, the Panthers have started like a house on fire.
So, Carolina have started pretty well...
That interception :cab:
It's good of the Panthers trying their best to get every kid in the stadium a ball. :D
Andy Reid's time management coming back to bite again :harold:
This Panthers/Seahawks game is going to be Super Bowl 48 levels of pasting.
So, is this going to be a bigger blowout than the Chiefs/Texans?
They're already outdoing the final score in that game...
Wonder if wullie is still watching.
This is painful to watch even as a neutral. This could conceivably be a 50+ point win if the Seahawks don't wake up.
This is a mauling.
Has Jesus taken the day off?
Well that didn't work out.
That was awful from the Seahawks. Carolina exploded out of the blocks, and Seattle have just been sloppy on offence, dropping passes, giving up lots of pressure & then making a right mess of the final two drive of the half & coming away with no points at all.
I still expect them to get going in the second half, but surely it's too late at this point. Carolina are too good on the ground to not be able to run the clock if they feel like it, and it's not unreasonable to think Seattle will have to score 45-50pts in a half to win this one now. Unfortunately for them they're not playing the Saints or the Giants, so that's not very plausible.
It depends how much of an eye that the Panthers start to keep on next week. If they keep their head in the game, this one is done.
If they score a TD on this drive it could set up an interesting end.
Panthers need to calm the fuck down.
That was a great throw and catch.
Now we've got a game on.
Yep, the comeback is on here.
Oh and I fucking love Jeff.
https://jsportsblogger.files.wordpre...-reinebold.jpg
What a man.
A TD on this drive (or a FG at least) will make it interesting. If not I think there's still too much to do.
What a call.
Pete
That was incredible from Norman. For some reason I hate Carolina more than any other team, perhaps maybe excluding New England. I really want a comeback here but I doubt it.
That's a catch all day long.
Tyler Lockett looks like a legitimately good receiver which is unusual as return specialists are usually fairly shit at their other job.
That's a brilliant throw on the run.
If they stop Carolina on their next drive...
Yeah, I think his Dad is an ex-NFL WR, so he learnt all the skills from him & was supposed to be a very good college receiver, it's just his size that dropped him to the third round.
Lockett coming up big for them.
Time to see what the Panthers are really made of.
Just checked.
His Dad went in the second round although Tyler already has more TD's than his Dad.
Cam just seems very relaxed all the time. Too much so maybe. Brady would be going absolutely mental at his team if they started slipping like this.
Brady's teams wouldn't slip like this, to be fair.
Another great catch.
Seahawks want this bad.
True that Brady and Belichick would be going ape-shit had this been the Pats.
This game is going to come down to the recovery of an onside kick. Which is absolutely mental from where it was at half time.
Jon Ryan TURNING the laces there, what a pro.
Blair Walsh needs a holder like that.
That was a solid recovery from Davis considering the hit he took.
Fuck Carolina, I hope Arizona crush them.
Seahawks would have blown them away if they bothered to turn up for the 1st half.
My allegiance is firmly in the Cardinals camp with Larry Fitz.
I'm in the Cardinals camp. I had Larry Fitz in fantasy this year and have Arizona in sweepstakes.
We're going to end up with Patriots/Panthers, aren't we?
But yeah, i'm backing the Cardinals as well. The Steelers/Cards shootout dream is still alive :yn:
I'm happy either way. I want someone new winning it. So as long as Denver / New England / Pitt has a mare then I'm good. Arizona or Carolina please.
I'm all aboard the Cardinals train too, vs Pittsburgh hopefully.
I want one of the NFC pair winning it. It's getting boring having the Pats always make it. The Manning hype train could use some derailing too.
It was never going to be a blowout even with the first half mainly because I'd come to peace with a drubbing but no I can't have a stress-free Sunday. I kept getting flashbacks to the NFC game vs Packers last year with the God-awful start but the crucial difference being the lead that Carolina built up. It needed five quarters really, but then they'd have to stop calling them quarters and that needs a load of admin.
Suspect Lynch may have played his last snap now, accelerated by Thomas Rawls' cameo earlier in the year.
Yeah I'd think we've seen Lynch play his last game now.
He's got to be carrying so many injuries now and he has a ring. Only doing himself damage by carrying on really.
Nice try on the gimmick play there. I'm almost shocked Harrison didn't just plough right through Peyton on his way to blow the play up.
Excellent play on the punt as well. Big Ben definitely doesn't look like he's going to be chucking the ball deep all the time today.
That play was absolutely fucking mental.
Peyton Manning threw it to a guy wearing orange... and he actually caught it.
Drop drop drop drop drop.
Steelers are still getting some big plays here, and the Broncos really don't seem to be up to much on offence - Manning isn't throwing the ball downfield, and the running game has hardly been any better than Pittsburgh's so far.
Get Brock in there you cunts.
I assume you mean put him in as a receiver. He'd probably drop less passes than the rest of the team has so far - got to be nearing double figure drops already.
Probably true. He should have started though. Guess it's hard to blame Manning for a million drops, but he's been shit all year and has no business being on the field.
In the 2nd most bizarre play of the game, they hand it to Anderson and he actually moves it forwards.
I wouldn't mind seeing Carolina erasing the Pats in the Superbowl. I have vague memories of 38 as being one of the first I watched when I got back into NFL. Such a skanking. Fucking Adam Viniteri. Fucking Patriots.
38 was the first I watched, well I gave up on it just before halftime as I had school the next day.
Finding out I had missed out on Janet Jackson's tit the next day was awful.
Omaha!
Just put the Patriots in already, as much as I don't want that to happen. Neither of these 2 will trouble them.
That's a joke, Manning was clearly giving himself up.
Tomlin should be charged a time out for that though, surely?
No, they only take it if the play is re-viewable but was already going to be done so.
Like a turnover.
Oh and Wheaton is a fucking shambles on these returns.
It's not a review and fail, just not reviewable, so no timeout charged.
If you're throwing your challenge flag around on plays that aren't reviewable you should be charged one for wasting everyone's time.
Fair enough if that's not the rule, but it should be.
What is it with Mannings throws being wobbly?
A combination of a weakened arm and his grip on the ball not being right because of the injury. He'd really be better served just retiring after this year, regardless of what happens. He'd get a start somewhere if he decided to stay on but I'd rather it wasn't in Denver.
Would you be happy with Brock going forward?
I wouldn't be tearing my hair out with worry. If the moves were made to improve the o-line in a few places he'd have everything you could hope for to give him the chance to succeed. A decent running game, a defence that'll more than hold up their end of the bargain and some great players to throw to. He has some weird quirks from what I've seen but if the coaching staff were to go through the off- and pre-seasons confident they could iron those out I'd be prepared to trust them on it if there wasn't an obviously better option available.
Also:
You might not have a choice really. Looking around at the available QBs this off season you have RG3, Manziel, Bradford and that's about it. Not exactly thrilling options there.
The Branning bowl next week it is.
Cousins and Fitzpatrick too.
You'd imagine that Cousins will get a big offer from the Redskins though.
You'd imagine Cousins will be tied up, but I'd forgotten about Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick will stay at the jets. Fairly sure they already named him their starter for next year.
The dream is over :(
Pats/Cards then please.
If it's Pats/Panthers featuring Coldplay I don't think I would be able to handle the sheer levels of cuntery and may not bother.
I'd have Carolina win it ahead of the Pats every time, if it were my choice.
I'd probably be the same based on the teams themselves, but then I actually know a fan of both teams (as in, Americans who go to the games). The Pat's fan is a genuinely awesome girl I lived with at Uni, where as the Panther's fan constantly posts pro-gun or anti-immigrant statuses on Facebook, all of which are fucking stupid and make my blood boil, so that probably creates a bias for me against them. Seeing his reaction should they win it would probably be worse than seeing the cheaters prosper again.
Cardinals or Broncos please....
1. Cardinals
2. Panthers
3. Broncos
4. Patriots.
That's who I'd want to lift the trophy.
Anyone but Denver from that 4, but hopefully Arizona.
If I wasn't a Denver fan I wouldn't want them to win either so it's quite fortunate that it's never going to happen for the antis. Even aside from the frothing that would go on over Manning I don't know that the team is particularly likeable anyway.
That and letting 'Pot Roast' go to the Redskins.
http://extras.mnginteractive.com/liv...super-bowl.jpg
Third best nose tackle around after Vince Wilfork (who went to a slightly more likeable team) and Brandon Williams.
I quite like Denver's linebackers and secondary as well as Demaryius Thomas.
There are quite a few really good players who are good to watch but nobody who I think I'd find especially likeable in comparison to other teams and a couple of bell-ends.
Other than that they're not New England.
Cards, Pats, Broncos & then the Panthers for me.
Cardinals are the most fun to watch, and I've always liked the Patriots, then the Broncos & Panthers are both fine, but I don't really give a shit about either of them. Panthers last just because I don't want to have to see Cam Newton dance every dance ever danced before running fifty laps around the stadium, waving to the crowd with a smug grin on his face.
Or shit like this:
http://sports.cbsimg.net/images/visu...ers_inside.jpg
Wanker, mate.
Pederson confirmed at the Eagles with Frank Reich as OC.
Yep, during the Buccaneers game in week 17 who had just failed on a 4th down.
Whilst it was happening Derek Anderson and whoever the fuck wasn't in front of the camera were taking a couple of knees.
They also did it against the Falcons in week 14.
https://usatthebiglead.files.wordpre...g?w=1000&h=567
http://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/4e59...S-78271682.JPG
Such dicks.
I'd quite like to see Manning win it (for the seethe), preferably with a 40 yard running TD in the last second. Can't beat a bit of running Peyton. Obviously, for him to make 40 yards the entire defense would have to suffer some mass, simultaneous death incident.
I'd just like to avoid seeing them take Manning out back and shot which looks increasingly likely with each week.
The scenes when they get RGIII in and he's even worse.
News of the day is that the Browns have all but confirmed that they'll be taking a QB in the draft. The circle of life is complete.
Problem for them is that the Titans have the only pick ahead of them and they're more than willing to trade it, as they probably have their FRANCHISE QB. As it stands now the Browns look likely to take Jared Goff. If any team wants to take him instead, you'd imagine the Titans will be getting some quality on the O-Line at the very least.
Elsewhere, Lacy has been told to cut his weight.
I'm stunned that the Packers let it get this far and only came out and said it's an issue after their season has finished.
Lacy looked more like a nose tackle this year.
The Packers are also ending the Clay Matthews middle linebacker experiment as he's been shit there all year.
Panthers will probably end up winning the whole thing.
I can't see Arizonia doing anything...
Just checked the odds.
£10 on the Cards @ 5.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2mMeUQ2hws
I love how even the cameraman takes a couple of seconds to pick up on it.
Any other QB and they'd already be in for a score by the time he panned back.
Oh and 'Tebow didn't age well' :D
Aye. The best bit about it is that even with half the field empty you still aren't sure he's going to make it. And that it was against the cowboys, natch.
I'm fairly certain that in the old board's thread the response was a lot of amusement at the run. I'd say that'd be one worth busting out again, to be honest. In the Championship game or the Super Bowl if Denver should find a way past New England. Obviously give him orders to fucking get rid of it and take the incompletion if the defense don't bite (because if he's caught in the open field he's getting wiped out) but it's the sort of daft thing that could work a treat in the right situation.
Doubt they'd risk breaking him further though.
I'm imagining they were trying to keep his morale up. Or they must have thought Starks wasn't a good enough replacement. He had a break away run in the Cardinals game that really highlighted it. He just looked far too bulky and probably would have had a TD had he been a little faster.
It'll be interesting to see what kind of shape he turns up in, in August.
Matthews was great inside this year, he just doesn't get the stat lines there that he did on the outside and is largely wasted. They needed it though.
The Manning brothers know how to prolong the glory of a touchdown run.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EQHEOF-VTRw
Best video I could fine :(
NFL.com really has a way with headlines..
"Packers fire assistants Gash".
There's another name after it but who cares.
"After the game, we gon talk about that slide..."
The Manning brothers could probably play qb on their knees as well as their feet.
Tickets for the games went on sale today and the work lot have given the money to one of the guys who went on to buy them today. There are 6 of us going, but he's just messaged me telling me he's only managed to get a set of 3 together, then 2 together and then 1 off by itself.
I can see me being the one off by himself.
Which game are you going to? Didn't realise they only just went on general sale I've had mine for about a month.
Going to see the good Manning in action live
Cooper's going to be there!?
http://images.tvfanatic.com/iu/s--CD...n-simpsons.png
Only one less Super Bowl ring than Peyton too...
Did that end with Cooper getting the pick?
Nah, they had to add the ball with CGI later as Peyton didn't have the arm strength to throw it over his head :(
Ideally I'd like to have gone to all 3, but it's payday next week so money was a bit thin. I could only afford the one so we've gone for Giants @ Rams. Beckham and Gurley to good to pass up(watch both get injured).
If I get any spare money I'll go to the Colts @ Jags. But that's not looking likely right now.
It's begun already
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...are-in-chips-o
Is that what Mike Mayock does when he isn't spreadsheeting 40yd dash times?
It'll be a disaster, the read option died on it's arse a few years ago.
Kapernick is more of a pick option offence type QB.
They really need to redirect the url too.
http://www.stlouisrams.com/
Anybody watching the East/West Shrine game?
Turned on about 10-15mins ago, and it's pretty one-sided coming to half-time. Vernon Adams has looked pretty handy for the East. Would've been nice to have seen Keenan Reynolds out there too, as he sounds like an interesting option.
Stave just got picked off by his own college teammate :D
EDIT: Excellent interception from Fejedelem there. Sounds like this has been a pickfest - missed at least two before i started watching.
"I've been 5' 11" my whole life" - Vernon Adams is a smart kid...Add another one to the pick list too.
This could well be a bloodbath.
The Pats D should shuffle old man Peyton away easily and Brady will just keep finding Gronk.
You surely have to have some self respect when you can't throw the ball further than 15yds with any accuracy?
Old Yeller to be put out of his misery with a Seattle-esque pasting.
The Broncos offensive line is where it'll be won and lost. Not just in terms of keeping Manning clean because that doesn't mean he won't balls up more than a few throws today, but because there needs to be a running game for the passing game to have a chance.
Thought tickets went on sale this Tuesday. Apparently not and are sold out.
Cuntface lucky not to be picked there.
Good hands, there. Sanders is such a good player.
I also like starting with passes. I don't think it'll get the Pats backing up much but it'll give them something to think about if Manning gets a few first downs.
Well that caught them out.
The rollout almost fooled the camera man.
Fucking have some of that.
Manning.
I forgive you for being shit all fantasy season, as I won anyway. Just please put the Patriots out.
A bit of luck early on but I like the playcalling on that drive, especially doing everything to try and keep the defense honest.
Doesn't seem to be sold out. Ticketmaster is finding me tickets in most price ranges.
Neil mentioned the Giants and bengals games were sold out.
There is tickets on ticket master. Just will end up overpaying I think.
Squeaky bum time.
Well that was a proper bollock dropped.
Looked forward to me on that overhead.
Steven Jackson
What a way to throw away your momentum. Bit of a shame they blew the play dead instead of a fumble recovery TD.
Gostklolwski.
Even when he can't go deep, he can go deep by underthrowing a receiver and make them take it from a defender
Put money on Gronk to score the first TD with Betfair who double up winnings if they score a second.
My curse has meant Daniels gets it :moop:
Has Eli secretly got onto the field disguised as Peyton?
Dat athleticism.
I feel Broncos needed to score more when their defence was on top. I doubt the Patriots will come out the same in the 2nd half.
You can already pick out a couple of fuck-ups for Denver that you can see being the difference but I'd hope the defense can keep doing what they've been doing to give Manning and co. some breathing room.
You have to imagine the Patriots will get to 25-30 points in the 2nd half. Can the Broncos get 2 more TDs? That or 4 FGs.
I think that backwards pass fumble will cost them in the end.
Manning running for 12/13 yards on 3rd and 10?
What the fuck is happening?
Manning. :D
Why are the Patriots suddenly getting four or five touchdowns? It's possible of course because it's Brady but it's a weird assumption that you think an elite defense is suddenly going to crumble.
Unless you're banking on more turnovers and such.
Manning running. :uhoh:
Peyton needs to have his piss tested after the game.
Carolina or Arizona should slaughter either of these if today's performances are anything to go on.
Well I think Denver have got this now. Please don't make me have to watch them play the Panthers now...
This would almost make you root for the old goat.
Almost.
Ironic that Manning has overthrown two guys in the end zone. :moop: Overcompensating I suspect and it's ballsing up his accuracy even on shorter throws.
I think White could have caught that.
YESSSSS.
Need some fucking points this time though.
Please hang on and avoid the cunt bowl.... please.
Manning has looks the best I've seen him this year, but that's not saying much.
Into squeaky bum time.
Gronkowski's little chimp out was amazing.
Gronk. :D
Such a cunt given he pushes off on almost every play.
When Denver challenged that incomplete pass I wondered.... has anyone ever challenged one and had it ruled a catch but had the guy ruled down by contact, so it backfires spectacularly? Is that even possible? Would be incredible.
Fucking hell. Nothing happening with the ball at all.
By post-season time last year Ware looked knackered but he's just kept going this season.
EDIT: FUUUUUUUUUUCK.
Brady getting raped by Von Miller and Ware all game. :D
Watch him score a TD here on 4th down....
What a throw and catch that was.
Oh christ.
Brady for life.
The Patriots offensive tackles are having a nightmare game, they might as well not even be there.
Hope they get the TD and miss the 2 pointer.
Hoooly christ.
Manning's face there. :D
Woof, Gronk is so damn good.
Oh fuck off.
Well that was certainly... deflating.
Why didn't Roby just slide straight away?
If they had managed to return the fumble back for 2 points :D
Have some of that you fucking cunts.
:(
I thought Brady was getting another go then until I remembered that was the conversion play.
Imagine how good Denver would be if they had an offense.
Now for the Cards to dispatch Cam and his band of dickheads so they can wipe the floor with old man Manning.
http://blogs.denverpost.com/broncos/...ll-495x345.jpg
Watching Calais destroy Peyton would be so sweet.
What a finish. Even the Mrs is a nervous wreck. :D
That was a hell of a game in general, really. While there weren't many points a lot of it was because of genuinely good defense and good pass-rushing is always good to watch.
So the missed extra point cost them in the end.
That Broncos defense is mean though.
If David Johnson scores the first TD we riot lads.
The Broncos owners wife looks fucking awful, less surgery lass.
Oh and I'd challenge that if I was Arians, Ginn got touched as he slid.
Aye, I don't think I've seen Bowlen's wife before. She's a state.
TD, though.
Damn that was a nifty run by Ginn.
Fucking Cardinals and David Johnson though :(
I've a soft-spot for Ted Ginn Jr, for no reason other than that when me and my brother-in-law went to the first Wembley game we picked him as subject for a chant.
The middle-aged woman in front of us seemed a bit bemused at us chanting "ONE TED GINN JUNIOR! THERE'S ONLY ONE TED GINN JUNIOR!", etc.
What the fuck are the Cardinals defenders doing?
I genuinely don't care who wins (Denver are the underdogs whoever it is, I'd probably prefer the Cards) but lol at the state of this from Arizona.
Someone go tell the Cardinals the game started nearly an hour ago.
Where are you going?
I'm going home now
..., no WHERE are you going?
Oh right, Superbowl
Dara and CJ Anderson, a perfect match for TV.
I liked her more in the three seconds before I heard her speak, first time I tuned in and she was on.
Oh look, Arizona have turned up.
Patrick Peterson is a fucking mentalist for that.
What a fucking idiot.
Nice one Palmer :moop:
Since he hurt his finger he's looked like when he was in Oakland and couldn't give a shit.
My personal favourite was the one on/near the Pats goal line when they called the snap and Miller was round the extra blocker chap before he'd even stood up out of his stance.
Some classic Manning in that game. Dat run. Dat face when he was about to get smashed.
Jesus no wonder the Packers had a chance to beat these, they're an absolute shambles.
What a bad night overall.
Fuck sake. What a letdown that set of games was. Go Peyton I guess, so congrats Cam, have fun posing all off-season :moop:
I wondered if the Patriots going for it on 4th down and not kicking the FG would come back to bite them in the arse. Belichick almost always has a rick in him against Peyton, the old bastard better not win it :(
Thomas Davis broke his arm but he's still intending to play in the Super Bowl.
In news that no one cares about right now we've just signed Ertz to a 5 year extension. Rumoured to be about $42m.
If we can bring in some help for our RBs on the line, we should be pretty handy this coming season. Depending on who we have under centre obviously.
That's a pretty good way of putting it.Quote:
The New England Patriots offensive line wasn’t mauled, manhandled or overpowered in the AFC Championship Game; it was simply ignored.
Meanwhile:
That dickhead wants putting down.Quote:
And [Brady] was subject to all manner of indignity in a 20-18 loss.
“I tried to lay on him a few times,” said one Broncos rusher after the game. “I tried to rub my nuts on his face.”
The fuck?
The LA saga continues.
The Chargers have agreed a deal for a brand new training complex to be built in the LA area and have agreed a financial package with the Rams to share the new stadium, when it opens.
At the same time they have opted to stay in San Diego for 2016.
The idea is that there is a vote in June to see if the Chargers will be given $350m of public money to help build a stadium in San Diego. The LA deals are essentially a back up plan and leverage to try and force a deal through for a new stadium in San Diego. However as they've been trying to get this done for 15 years now I'm not so sure they'll get said deal.
I'll be interested to see what the Raiders do, should the Chargers not move to LA.
Was hoping I'd be able to watch the senior bowl. Looking unlikely. If anyone has a stream drop me a pm.
Missed it as well, but luckily I have GamePass so I'm just going to rewind time & watch it now :)
Sorry Foe, I haven't really helped you much here...
The Senior Bowl was on Gamepass? Do you mean the Pro Bowl?
Nah, it was showing live on NFL Network, which you can watch through GamePass.
Eli v Russell Wilson?
Is this pro bowl worth watching?
Only like a year or two, I think.
It's always been shit.
It's always good when you read "How to fix the Pro Bowl" type articles that seem determined to ignore the fact that a lot of what makes NFL an entertaining sport is removed when you do everything in your power to turn it into a series of passing drills.
Third season, they now even have a draft which is fucking televised for it.
I just turned it on, saw all the shitty rule changes that I had forgotten about and turned it off.
Must run a 4-3, no motioning or shifting for the offence, no blitzing, no kick offs, no nickel or dime defence packages etc etc.
Mike Tirico painted it as 'more one on one, best against the best', ugh.
Just a shame we don't have players like Sean Taylor still knocking about:
http://giant.gfycat.com/ZanyDenseFinch.gif
Fuck punters and the Pro Bowl
I get why they do that, nobody wants their star quarterback getting sat on by Geno Atkins in a meaningless game but, well, why bother?
Other than all the money swilling about, obviously.
EDIT: Didn't Ed Reed waste Todd Heap one year as well?
Nah, wouldn't be Heap. I'm sure Reed mangled somebody though.
It's because it works in other American sports, apparently All-Star games in the other sports draw bigger TV audiences than regular season games. The NFL is the only sport that gets fuck all TV ratings.
And it definitely wasn't on Heap. The only Pro Bowl they were at together was when they were both in Baltimore.
Megatron :(
Haven't they axed that bag of shite Pro Bowl yet? What a waste of everyones time.
Maybe now Stafford will be able to see his open receivers....
Doubt it, but you never know.
Manziel getting the road on March 9th. Dallas are a shoo-in.

"Nothing's official," Burleson told the Detroit News of the retirement talk. "I'm waiting, and maybe that's the fan in me. Maybe it's like being a fan of Tupac. I don't think he's dead yet. Until you prove that to me, I still think he's living in Cuba."
The fuck? :D
Johnny Clipboard joining the Cowboys circus would be a thing of beauty
Brandon Browner's on his way out of New Orleans.

Fuck it, I'm on the Peyton bandwagon for Sunday.
Oh and this is fucking brilliant:
https://heavyeditorial.files.wordpre...trip=all&w=695
I have never been less interested in a Superbowl.
Same. Would love to see Peyton win but the inevitability of the Panthers smashing them and Cam posing like a cunt all 4th quarter makes me really not care.
Indeed. I'd much rather see Peyton doing that dance all fourth quarter than Cam doing his.
Is this "inevitable" bloodbath coming from those who predicted the same against New England? I don't forsee a Denver win, sadly, but I don't think it'll be a mess.
But then I said the same until That Snap two years ago, so. .
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...laint-is-filed
The Dallas Police Dept. announced Friday night it has launched a criminal investigation of Johnny Manziel after receiving a complaint of domestic violence assault against the Cleveland Browns quarterback.
The complaint stems from an alleged altercation between Manziel and his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, who told Fort Worth police that Manziel struck her "several times" during an argument on Jan. 30. The Dallas Police Dept. would not confirm to NFL Media who filed the complaint, but WFAA-TV in Dallas reported Crowley has given a statement to Dallas police and wants the district attorney to press charges.
:harold:
Aaron Hernandez will finally have someone to throw him passes on the prison team.
It's as if he finally got to the NFL and thought, 'I wonder how badly I can fuck things up from here.'

When Ryan Leaf is offering support you know you've gone wrong.
Is it because even compared to other Super Bowls the aftermath is going to be pretty unbearable regardless of who wins?
Could be. Coupled with my not wanting either team to win for the first time, I'm not even going to stay up for it this year. :(
The Broncos winning is best for aftermath purposes. Peyton will retire and it will become a lot more bearable. Cam Newton walking away with a win will be the talk of every game, ever, until the Panthers crash and burn next year(if they do).
Pretty good documentary on Netflix called "we could be king". Not quite as good as undefeated but worth a watch.

Unfortunately he's turned to God/hidden behind him.
Coward.
I'm still expecting/looking forward to, a meltdown from him.
Obvious MVP is obvious.
Just won £10 off a guy at work with that. Russel Wilson my ass. :happycry:
Favre
In two minds whether go to bed now and try get up for this or to still fuck it off.
It's the last NFL game until August so you might as well watch it if you like the sport.
This is all set for Cam Newton to piss about and not give a fuck.
This fucking freak singing the national anthem :nono:
Couldn't overturn that.
Why are you posting in here rather than the thread?

It's hard to imagine that a team will take a chance on him.
You know that someone somewhere will take a punt on him.
Deserves fuck all of it though. He must have had about 50 chances in Cleveland.
Deion Sanders basically said Manziel's "issues" with his girlfriend are partly her fault.
It's hard to tell with Sanders sometimes whether he's just trying too hard to protect anybody who's got problems or if he's just a genuinely unpleasant person.
He will go to Dallas and be the starter week 3 when Romo's collarbone explodes.
There's a headline could be taken another way.

Any one here keeping up on the draft news?
Next week sees the combine start and we get to see how good everyone is on paper. The No.1 pick is almost unanimously going to be OT Laremy Tunsil, so long as the Titans keep it. They're in a great position to make a trade should they wish. Browns are pick #2 and they will be taking a QB(Most likely Jared Goff). There are 5 teams behind them in the order that need a QB and Goff being likely the best of the bunch, they could throw things at the Titans to snag him.
Who does your team look like taking?
To me the Ravens are the most interesting pick. They're Taz style false position in this draft, with them basically losing their entire team through injury at some point last season, even still narrowly losing about 6 games from winning positions. They could really pick up someone on the way to a play off push this coming year.
We'll pick a pass rusher or some secondary help I'd imagine.
If Jalen Ramsey slips to us we'll take him, if not Joey Bosa. I'd imagine if both are taken (highly unlikely) Newsome will either take whoever is the best player at the time (even if we don't have a need for them) or trade down.
Denver needs offensive linemen (I'd happily see us trade up if there was one further up the first round they loved), maybe a running back or a tight end.
Talk is that there are teams sniffing around Osweiler who are prepared to give him more money than I'd want Denver to so hopefully that being the case they'll try and keep the likes of Malik Jackson with the money instead, and in terms of the D just see if there's anybody who drops kindly in the draft. There's work needs doing on the offense but depending on what free agency has in store it really ought to be a draft where Denver pick the best available player and don't reach for positions too much.
Seems to be split opinions on what the Eagles are doing. We stupidly went out to win our last game and have ourselves at #13 instead of #10.
Unless we pick up a FA QB before hand, we'll have to franchise tag Bradford(lol at that) and look at picking up someone like Carson Wentz or Paxton Lynch and ease him in through the season. We could go all out for a 1st round QB but it's risky. If the guy we want happens to be taken we're left having to bring in someone for the sake of it.
If we do pick up a FA QB then we are probably looking at a DT, if not OT. Much help is needed at CB in the off season though. Our secondary was terrible last season, despite possessing a mean run defense.
The Eagles are one of the teams rumoured to be interested in Osweiler if he hits the market.
If he goes and Peyton hangs it up, what will the Broncos do at QB?
If we somehow manage to keep Osemele it will be a fucking brilliant offseason for us.
Sadly he's probably the best guard in football right now (well behind Yanda) and one of the top left tackles too.
Find an available, semi-competent quarterback. Just won a Super Bowl with a really shit one so if one can be found he won't cost a fortune and isn't an idiot then it'll do in the meantime. I'm just not convinced by Osweiler.
Tebowmania running wild.
I've seen a lot of mocks suggesting we take one of them.
The Cowboys will probably take Myles Jack (or Jerry will go full retard and demand that they pick some player he loves) and I'm not convinced that the Chargers will look to lock up secondary help with their first pick, their secondary isn't too shabby and I can see them trading with a QB hungry team to move down some spots.
Oh and the Jags want help on their front seven apparently, they'd take Bosa but I doubt they'd take Ramsey.
I'd assume that he's there just for the offseason whilst Forsett is still recovering and he'll be cut as soon as Forsett is ready to practice.
There's not a chance he's getting ahead of Forsett, Buck Allen or Lorenzo Taliaferro.
Oh and in better Ravens news:
http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/...b-75817071d887
Head Coach John Harbaugh and General Manager Ozzie Newsome have made it clear.
The Ravens want Kelechi Osemele to be their left tackle.
Baltimore is putting its money where its mouth is, offering Osemele a deal that would, according to multiple reports, make Osemele the second-highest paid offensive player on the team behind quarterback Joe Flacco.
Now it’s just a matter of whether Osemele will accept.
“It’s a really aggressive deal,” Harbaugh said Thursday at the NFL Scouting Combine. “I think it shows a lot of respect to K.O [Osemele]. It shows him that we really want him here, and I hope that he takes it.”
If he accepts it, then by christ have we had a fucking brilliant off season.
We've also slapped the tag on Tucker.
Watching the combine now (I'm not sure why I do but I always watch a little bit every year just so I know more going into the draft) and I really like Tunsil, he seems like a thoroughly nice chap.
I'm sure there must be a less interesting part of the NFL season than the combine but......... nope. Can't think of any.
It's more for the talk surrounding the players.
I find even the draft fucking boring, to be honest. I tried to sit up for it once and just didn't care one bit.
We're supposedly willing to take trade offers for DeMarco(he wants back to Dallas). Which is royally fucking stupid. We have 1 good WR. We need to make proper use of our great RB department. It's all we've bloody well got.
We've got to be looking at free agency here. Someone like Doug Martin or maybe take Forte for a year or two. Either way it will cost us $13m in cap space to cut him before June so it makes no sense unless we got a seriously good deal, which we wont due to his 2015.
Forte will be going to New England.
It's like the perfect matchup for the team and player.
New England isn't perfect for any RB. He'll be a star one week and sat on his ass the next. But I agree, it's his likely destination.
I used to be semi-interested in the draft build up until it became increasingly apparently that the Combine is a waste of time and most of the 'experts' just don't know much more about these guys than I do.
Forte in Green Bay
He wont, that happened to Jonas Gray because he missed practice.
Keep in Belicheck's good books and that sort of stuff doesn't happen.
Matt Forte is the best pass catching RB around, Tom Brady will wank himself into a coma at the prospect of him going over there.
New England with a backfield of Lewis and Forte would be pretty tasty for them to be fair.
It's happened with every New England RB since the beginning of time. Belicheck just has no consistency.
Kevin Faulk would disagree.
I've never even heard of him, so yea.... but certainly since I've been watching Patriots RBs have been avoided like the plague in fantasy leagues because they can't stick to one.
Edit- "Since the beginning of time" was clearly an exaggeration, especially if Faulk only left in 2011 :D but yea... I still wouldn't trust any RB with Belicheck as the head coach, even if it was Forte.
Had to unfollow NFL.com on Facebook as my timeline was just full of people running, jumping and chatting shit. Also some older videos of good players running, jumping and chatting shit.
Is it September yet?
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...o-sam-bradford
The Eagles have increased their offer to Bradford, lol.
Although I guess it is better than any other option or tagging him.
Yeah we're basically stuck with him.
He's in for a decent pay day if he realizes this too. Our only other option at this point would be to try our luck in the draft, but in likelihood we're looking at maybe 3/4 QBs going before it's even our turn.
Well if we stay at 13 there's almost 0% chance of Goff or Wentz being available, and they're the two you could probably put in straight away.
You're looking at a QB definitely going at 2 and probably 7(with noises currently about Kaepernick), with potential for one to go at 3 and 4 too.
If we're serious about taking anyone that isn't Lynch we need to move on up. I'll be interested to see what we'd have to throw at those teams in order to move up. Quite an odd situation to be in 2 years running, I didn't think we should do this last year for Mariota, but this time around I don't know.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIGc2LooeFs
I know it's a Youtube video but by christ could we use someone like that in the secondary.
Kirk cousin has been tagged, $20 million smackeroonies for him.
Sam Bradford also has 26mil in guarantees in a 2 year 36mill contract.
Lord.
So $13m per year. I expected worse than that to be honest, but that's still high. And it's about the safest play we could have made. Strong case for taking Lynch at the draft if he's still there.
18 a year. How bad is your mental arithmetic? :D
Considering Osemele hasn't signed the 'aggressive deal just yet', one would assume that he's going to wait until 10th of March and see what other teams are offering him.
He apparently wants to the highest earning guard in the NFL, which is currently Logan Mankins on $8.5m a year. Considering we came out and said that we view him as our left tackle now, plus with a Flacco restructuring deal almost in place surely our 'aggressive offer' is possibly around $9m a year. Perhaps we might still have a shot even if he does test free agency.
Oh and that Bradford contract is pretty good, especially so if it involves a get out after a year.
You don't want to sign him to a big, long deal but they pretty much need him this year because there's fuck all else for the Eagles.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...rike-extension
Word is that Flacco's cap number has gone from $28.6m this season to just $9m.
An extra last push for Osemele now please.
I read it had been cut by $9m and wasn't actually $9m. That's still impressive though.
I'm surprised to see Flacco is only 31. I had it in my mind he was 35/36 for some reason.
Yeah, it says it's a $9m cut, rather than a cut to $9m.
In cut news, the Patriots have cut LaFell & Chandler, the Bills cut Mario Williams, and Alex Mack has voided his own deal with the Browns, but the headline cut is that Roddy White is gone from the Falcons :(
Also, Jerry says Dallas won't be taking a QB at 4. Guess they fancy Kellen Moore to be up for 8-10 games next season when Romo breaks his clavicle again.
Dallas will be taking Bosa at 4 then.
I still have no idea where we are going yet, but the WR position does need some addressing. Give Bradford someone to throw to besides Matthews.
We've cut Daryl Smith, it's only saved about $2.6m in cap.
We might be looking at a MLB at the sixth spot now, although I hope we're going to pick Smith back up. He's 34 and had a down year last season but we've not really got anyone else. Arthur Brown has been a huge disappointment, McClellan is more of a special teamer and Orr, whilst he flashed some promise last year (he played a lot on third downs in place of Smith) is an undrafted guy who has yet to start a game.
We've also let Canty walk so that's another $2m free so perhaps we're really trying to keep Osemele.
Oh and Arian Foster is gone from the Texans.
The Jaguars having close to $90m free, it's absolutely insane.
With a good free agency and draft they could be pretty fucking good next year.
They wont because they're the Jaguars but still.
They have $90m free?
Jesus, they already have massive potential in their offense with the 2 Allens, Bortles and Yeldon. I hope they spend it wisely.
Free agency is worth fuck all. They'll still be shit in 12 months.
More than likely.
I can see them spunking huge amounts on fairly mediocre players.
There's talk of them being interested in Malik Jackson, Olivier Vernon and Bruce Irvin.
The first two are brilliant but Irvin is so fucking overrated and can only really rush the passer, he was selected so highly in his draft because he ran fast.
Isn't he the guy from the old Tekken games? If so they should sign him.
Peyton's $19m base salary for the next season becomes fully guaranteed on Tuesday.
'Mon father time stringing the Broncos along and retiring on Wednesday
I really don't get the Manning situation. People are saying "If he doesn't retire they'll have to cut him", so if that's the case, why did they not sign Brock ages ago?
Also you'd think if it was certain he isn't going to stay in Denver, he'd just hurry the fuck up and make his decision so he can try and find a new team.
Because Osweiler's agents will also have wanted to see a) what the Manning situation is if a decision came early and b) what his value in free agency is likely to be.
I'd expect/hope any deal we might come to with him to look big but be relatively light on guarantees.
I'm fairly convinced that Denver are just giving Manning the chance to pretend the decision is his own before cutting him. If it approaches the deadline and he's still pissing about Elway will pull the trigger.
There's no way the Broncos don't cut manning. I imagine it's just a bit of cat and mouse to see if the Broncos can find a trade if manning doesn't want to retire.
Supposedly to be announced tomorrow.
Yep, he's done.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...ning-to-retire
Now to get Tebow back and we'll be good to go.
Thank fuck for that.
Dolphins are trying to make a trade for Byron Maxwell which is proper lol if they give up anything of significance. He's average but got a mega contract from the moronic Eagles after a good couple of years in the Legion of Boom. Actually, it's especially lol as the 'cornerback class' in the draft is supposed to be really strong.
RG3 has been officially cut and the Broncos have risked losing CJ Anderson. They've given him an original round designation tender, that means that if a team comes in with too high a contract that they're not prepared to match the offering team wont have to give up a single draft pick. They've placed a second round tender on Brandon Marshall which is a damn shame, I was hoping the Ravens might make a play for him.
In Ravens news we've resigned Shareece Wright who, after a shaky debut against the 49ers, was great for us last season and we've also re-signed long snapper Morgan Cox which is clearly the biggest news this season.
With Wright signed I'd imagine that we'll pick Ramsey if he is there at 6, if not we'll either trade down or take Ronnie Stanley. I just can't see us taking a pass rusher that early seeing as we always seem to identify great guys in the later rounds. Such as Za'Darius Smith last year, Jernigan the year before, Upshaw a couple of years before that, McPhee the year before that etc.
We're short(of quality) in the secondary so I'd hope we could take some corners, but Maxwell is on such a laughably high contract that we should really trade him away. Wouldn't mind if we got some kind of value out of him but it's time to build some depth in our pass defence.
Griffin surely ends up in Dallas.
Houston are crying out for any kind of semi-competent QB. See their play-off loss for confirmation.
Houston are, but RGIII is exactly the kind of player you could see Jerry Jones investing everything in. Supposedly he was in love with Johnny Manziel at some point, wasn't he? That said, he could just go out and get him, I suppose.
Emotional Peytons' retirement speech.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...ement-from-nfl
Dallas could do with taking a young QB, maybe even Manziel, and keep him under Romos wing for the next year or two. That said, all predictions thus far have them taking a DE at No.4. Maybe wait and see if Lynch drops into round 2 or take Cook.
EDIT: I've just noticed Ryan Fitzpatrick is going to hit free agency. Houston could do worse.
Yes, his son and Jason Garrett spent most of their time in the draft room telling Jerry to shut the fuck up as he was wanted to draft Manziel. I think he claimed that Manziel would have guaranteed the Cowboys relevance for the next decade or something equally as mental. He's still apparently mad that they draft Zack Martin instead who has been fucking immense on the line for Dallas.
Apparently the Raiders have a shitload of cap room dollars they need to spend so as not to fall foul of the bargain agreement. Tens of millions of dollars. Not a chance they don't do something lol with that.
My money's on $30m guaranteed to give Ryan Leaf his shot at redemption.
Fitzpatrick would be a better option than Griffin.
Bring back JaMarcus Russell. As a Nose Tackle / QB hybrid.
Fuck JaMarcus.
Jared Lorenzen has a ring having played backup under Eli:

320 pounds of awesomeness.
He had some really good numbers in college too if I remember right.
Looks like Houston are going to make a move for Brock.
I'd forgotten about Lorenzen. :D
Let Brock go and get him in!
Dolphins are getting Maxwell and Alonso apparently.
We're willing to let all of our RBs go too.
Demarco Murray to the Titans.
Can't wait to see what they do in the new season.
A better o-line with Mariota, Murray, Delanie Walker, Dorial Green Beckham and Kendall Wright.
That's looking quite tidy.
At least Murray shirts will be on sale...
I wonder who we'll take at #1 next year.
Word is that the Raiders are offering Osemele 'in excess of $10m a year'.
He'll be gone within the first couple of days of free agency officially opening :(
Megatron now.
Yep.
Also, Osemele has indeed gone to the Rainders.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...nciple-on-deal
Terms of the cannot be finalized until Wednesday, but NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports the contract is expected to be worth more than $11 million per year, according to a source informed of the deal.
That's top left guard money by a long way and the only O-Line people making more than him would be Cordy Glenn ($13.7m a year), Trent Williams ($13.2m), Tyron Smith ($12.2m) and possibly Joe Thomas ($11.5m) and Lane Johnson ($11.25m).
This probably means we'll make a play to keep Upshaw, more than likely wont cut Monroe and we'll be picking a lineman at number 6.
Stafford is going to have to learn to see his open receivers now then rather than having 3 people running free and still chucking it to a triple covered Calvin.
It was so frustrating when I went to the Wembley game and had Ebron in my Fantasy team. Almost every single play Ebron would get open and Stafford would ignore him and launch it down the field to Calvin and miss him by a mile. I can't believe there was a time people rated Stafford.
Alshon has been tagged, to the surprise of no one.
Malik Jackson signed for the Jags.
From the Superbowl to Jacksonville.
I hope he's getting paid a mountain of gold.
Well it was a great move for Julius Thomas.
JPP staying in New York.
Megatron :(
Would have been nice to see him go somewhere with one final shot at a ring.
Ravens have taken former Saint TE, Benjamin Watson.
Eagles sign Leodis McKelvin. Bills CB of the last 8 years.
Guess we needed a TE seeing as Boyle is suspended for 10 games (moron) and still no word on when Pitta will be back. Had a good year last season and he seems like a decent bloke.
We've also given Aiken a second round tender so it looks like he's staying too.
Oh and the Vikings have cut Mike Wallace, I wonder which stupid team will take a punt on him next.
So when Pitta is back they'll have him, Watson and Gillmore.... that's all 3 of them being avoided in Fantasy then.
Owen Daniels is free if they want to add another....
Super Mario has signed for the Dolphins.
6 years, $90M; $42M guaranteed is what the Jags are paying Malik Jackson.
I guess he did indeed get a mountain of gold.
JJ Watt was given a 6 year deal for $100m with $51m guaranteed so Malik isn't far off. The Jags run a 4-3 too so fuck knows why they're paying a 3-4 end that kind of money.
Big cap this year, players were always going to get overpaid.
Jags have now signed Ivory. A good addition to the offensive line or two and their offense is pretty much set.
Fucking hell, didn't realise how bad this actually was:
https://uproxx.files.wordpress.com/2...tte1.gif?w=650
Quote:
I didn’t really realize how serious it was until it was over, because the doctor told me my skull was—all the muscles, all the ligaments that connect my vertebrae and the cartilage, in between that. So, the cartilage was out, the ligaments torn. And he said, if I were to have stood up then, the weight of my head, left, right, front, back, I would have died. If one of my teammates would have came over and pulled my arm, just barely, I might have died. If the returner at the time would have broken a couple tackles, and they would have moved and fell on me, I would have died on the field. But what saved my life was the trainers.
They did it perfectly by the book. The way they held my neck. All the training saved my life, because if they had gone too far to the left or moved me without stabilizing this or that then I would have been dead. So I thank God that I’m here and thank you guys for the work that you do and if there is anything I can do to help you save another life, me, my teammates, my family are your workers
Chargers sign Travis Benjamin.
Janoris Jenkins signs for the Giants.
Romo is having surgery on his troublesome collarbone. He's having a plate inserted to help apparently.
EDIT: The Alonso/Maxwell to Miami trade is on hold.
Maxwell finished last season on IR(shoulder injury) but told the Eagles he was fine at the end of the year. Turned up for his medical today and told the Miami team he was unable to do press ups or bench anything.
Deal is apparently important as it would see the Eagles move up to #8 in the 1st round of this years draft.
Bruce Irvin to the Raiders.
Him on one side with Mack on the other.
That's pretty swish.
Dolphins have signed Mario Williams and decided to keep Cameron Wake over Olivier Vernon.
Considering most of the FA DE have re-signed with current teams, he should be hot property.
The Dolphins are playing this very wrong.
They've gone for the names in signing Williams and keeping Wake.
Williams has a terrible attitude problem, is on a severe decline and decided he couldn't be fucked with the Bills last season. Wake is 34 and coming off a torn Achilles injury.
They must feel that Vernon is going to get top dollar though.
Considering the money flying about already, he's almost nailed on for a big pay day.
Indeed and apparently by pulling the tag they can get a compensatory pick when he signs with someone else.
Apparently the Osemele deal was 5 years for $60m, so $12m a year so that makes him the 4th most expensive offensive lineman.
We've also restructured Yanda's contract giving us just under $4m more in cap room.
Maxwell has cleared a 2nd medical. Trade to go head. Dolphins have spent some $$$ today.
Eagles(#13) and Dolphins(#8) to swap places in Round 1 of the draft.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...osweiler-bolts
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that Denver is expected to come after 49ers passer Colin Kaepernick if forced to start over under center, per a source informed of the team's thinking.
"If they lose Brock Osweiler to the Texans ... expect the Broncos to turn their attention to Kaepernick, to try to work out a trade with the 49ers," Rapoport said on NFL Network's Free Agency Frenzy. "There have been several teams sniffing around Kaepernick the last several days, but it is obvious that Osweiler is the big domino to fall here."
I will cry tears of joy if that happens.
From one of the greatest QBs to ever play, with a promising kid at back up to... that. It'd be some change.
I think us taking the move up to number 8 pick takes us out of the running for a QB or RB in round 1.
If that Kaepernick move were to happen I'd never have hated a Denver player more.
Get Jake Plummer in.
As if to confirm my thinking for me, we're flying in Chase Daniel. He must be Dougs secret son or something.
We're also signing Rodney McLeod for $37m, $17m guaranteed.
I haven't checked yet, but I presume I'm safe in saying the Packers haven't signed anyone.
To be fair, there's not a great deal that was out there for them today. A lot of players being able to pick their move for the money.
Remember, Alex Smith can win you games but Kaepernick can have confetti falling at the end of the season.....
Either that, or they're trying to sign the only player in the NFL that would make winning a Super Bowl even harder than having Manning last year.
Doug Martin is staying with the Bucs to the tune of $35m over 5 years.
EDIT: Forte to the Jets is apparently on.
Osweiler is going to the Texans(sorry @Ian). That should kick start everything QB wise.
Anyone but Kaepernick.
Your options are really; Kaep, Fitzpatrick, RG3, Manziel or trade up to take one at the draft. Not exactly spoilt there.
Kaepernick :nodd:
The Texans are also getting themselves Lamar Miller. Not too shabby. 4 years @ $26m.
Our condolences @Ian.
Eagles now signing Brandon Brooks. 5 years @ $40m.
Not doing too badly out of today methinks.
Kaepernick still has a couple of weeks to be passed unfit so the Niners can't cut him without more of a hit. Hopefully he breaks an ankle this week.
http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/quarterback/
What a selection. If it's to come from free agency I think I'd take Fitzpatrick for a year and then draft somebody and hope they're looking up to snuff next year.
Osweiler is to get a 4 year, $72m deal.
Bring back The Snake.
http://broncotalk.net/wordpress/wp-c...akeplummer.jpg
Or maybe just stick Miller at QB and have him play both ways.
Damon Harrison is staying at the MetLife but is trading his green jersey for a blue one.
NFL Media's Rand Getlin reports that Harrison's deal is worth $9.25 million per year with $24 million guaranteed and $30 million over the first three years.
I like what we've done today. Essentially shifted that Maxwell contract into getting McKelvin and McLeod, with a little spend.
I'm still not sold on shifting DeMarco on, but that depends on who comes in. Ryan Matthews should still leave though.
Mark Barron staying with the Rams, Danny Trevathan to the Bears and Brent Grimes has been released by the Dolphins.
Fitzpatrick is officially not being re-signed by the Jets.
Alex Mack to the Falcons.
Someone on my Facebook has gone BANANAS over this Osweiler bloke moving to whoever he supports. Are we talking about a once in a lifetime talent here or is he just being a buffter?
Buffter, Osweiler is average.
He's better than his team have had for many seasons though.
Actually, he has more than a good shot at being their best ever QB.
David Carr, Tony Banks, Dave Ragone, Matt Schaub, Sage Rosenfels, TJ Yates, Matt Leinart, Case Keenum, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Ryan Mallett, Brandon Weeden.
Those are the QBs who have started a game for the Texans and it's not a great list.
I had no idea it was that bad. Speaking of Schaub, he's gone to the Falcons.
Bid deal time. Olivier Vernon to the Giants. He'll be the highest paid DE of all time. $85m over 5 years with $52m of that guaranteed.
That's insane money. No wonder he was let go.
And getting excited over Brock at this point is silly, he's proven nothing yet.
lol.
Although if JPP is 'back to his best', they've got a pretty tidy front four.
JPP - Harrison - Hankins - Vernon.
I was wondering why they went for Harrison as he and Hankins are both nose tackles so they wont have any QB pressure from the middle but those 2 will draw a lot of blocks, JPP and Vernon could both have big years.
Vernon is really good for his age but that's proper shit-or-bust stuff.
If they could improve their o-line or take a RB, they should be nailed on NFC East champs with those 4.
But yeah, a lot of money there.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...ng-with-maclin
The Kansas Chiefs will lose two draft picks for their actions leading up to the start of the league year in 2015.
Citing improper contact with wide receiver Jeremy Maclin prior to the start of free agency last March, NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations Troy Vincent informed the Chiefs on Wednesday that they will forfeit their 2016 third-round draft pick and 2017 sixth-round draft pick for violating the league's Anti-Tampering Policy.
lol.
Massively lol. If they looked into it all enough and did the same with all teams they may as well cancel the draft completely.
Alex Boone to the Vikings.
Eagles have paid Chase Daniel $21m over 3 years with $12m guaranteed.
What a fucking free agency this is.
Oh and Arrington has taken a paycut to remain at the Ravens.
The exact terms of the pay cut and amount of cap room it created were not announced. Arrington was reportedly due a $2.1 million base salary this year, with a $2.77 million cap hit.
The Bears have re-signed Tracy Porter, I thought he retired long ago and I'm stunned to find that he's still in the league and only 29. The guy is a year older than me and yet the Saints Superbowl win seems so fucking long ago.
Jaguars have signed Tashaun Gipson for decent money and not a mountain but speaking of a mountain of cash, the Saints have paid Coby Fleener who has hands of stone $36m over 5 years.
Trevathan gone now. I wonder if they think there's somebody ready to step up in that position or if that's another one on the shopping list.
:|
Reece is surely for the bullet if this falls on it's arse.
Blah the Steelers got a bargain in Ladarius Green for only $20m over 5 years.
We could have gotten him instead of Watson :(
Given we had the move up to #8 this year, I would've thought it better to maybe bring in a QB round 1 and have a shoot out between him and Big Bad Sam Brad for the number 1 spot. But then I realized, moving to 8 doesn't actually let us do that as QBs are probably going @ 2 and 7 anyway.
Now I'm pretty sure we'll either be taking a DE or a CB, maybe Ronnie Stanley at OT if what we want isn't there. I'm not 100% sure which way I'd like to see us go yet. But I'm relatively happy with out dealings so far, even if our 2 QBs were a little pricey.
Jimmy Smith has now restructured his contract too, giving us an extra $4.5m.
Around $15m or so free now
Apparently we're interested in Mike Wallace () but only if the price is right so hopefully his agent asks for too much.
C.J Anderson is looking at a Dolphins move, while Vernon Davis is possibly going to the Redskins.
Few deals that have happened:
Sean Smith to a 4 year deal with the Raiders. $40m/$20 guaranteed.
Rishard Matthews to the Titans.
Brady extends for 2 years. $41m overall, with a $28m signing bonus and base salary of $1m per year.
Forte gets 3 year deal with the Jets. $8m guaranteed, possible $14m for grabs.
Jeremy Lane signs with Seahawks. $23m/$11m guaranteed.
Vincent Rey to sign with the Bengals.
Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Jets have opened up more talks, but he's apparently wanting way more than will offer right now. Perhaps the next bit is having something to do with that.
Lastly, talks are hotting up for Kaepernick. Teams interested are the Browns, Jets and Broncos. 49ers want a 2nd round pick this year. This would mean they'd prefer to go with the 2 formers as Broncos are back of the line.
If a team gives the Niners a second round pick for Kaepernick then the league has gone full retard.
I'd much rather draft someone with a second rounder (I wouldn't care who it is) and risk someone new under centre than Colin fucking Kaepernick.
Davis to the redskins makes very little sense as Jordan Reed is the best TE in the league not named Gronk. He will never play.
I'd expect the Browns or the Broncos might give up their 2nd round pick. I doubt the Jets would. Browns could get Kaep and a quality OT out of it.
The Browns could but I wouldn't if I was them.
Going from Manziel and all his problems to the inaccurate diva?
[gyfcat]ImpeccableImpeccableAnnashummingbird[/gyfcat]
That is a QB no one needs.
I've never seen that before. I knew he was a bit average but lol at that.
I think they'll end up taking Goff or Wentz at the draft personally. Either way the Broncos are now in a bit of a hole.
Eagles sign LB Nigel Bradham.
It was one of the last things he ever did at the Niners.
Near enough any other QB in the league sees it, slips it to Torrey Smith and it's a 99 yard TD.
Falcons have signed Ben Jones who is known for his appearances on Hard Knocks last year:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WnrVLoNJ4i0
What did the quaterback say?
He was a freshman...
Falcons sign Mohamed Sanu. 5 years $33m, $14m guaranteed.
Andy Benoit did a good bit about Kaepernick (and Griffin) on MMQB:
http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2016/03/02/c...3-trade-future
That's a brilliant article.
I need to read more from MMQB.
Will give that a read, after the Liverpool game.
I don't mind King but he's a proper bore on some subjects and he's full of his own importance. I read the MMQB article of a Monday very selectively. Benoit is good.
So with Ben Watson, Crocket Gillmore (who had surgeries but should be back for week 1), Maxx Williams, Dennis Pitta (if he still lives), Nick Boyle (idiot who is suspended for 6 games), Chase Ford (who we gave a tender offer) plus two other bodies all at tight end we've also decided to tell one of our WR's to make the move to TE.
He's a giant (6 foot 6 and 250 pounds) and is probably better suited to TE but it's starting to feel a little too much, well unless the league allows us to roll with a 4 TE set.
C.J Anderson has been given a 4 year offer of $18m by Miami. Broncos have 5 days to match this or lose him.
I don't understand all these tenders... if a players contract is up, surely you're entitled to fuck all.
What would happen if you put a 3rd round tender on a guy (for example) and then no one signed him, but you still didn't sign him.... is there a period where he can then fuck off for free?
When you put a tender on someone you give them the minimum that the league have stipulated the tender is worth, this season a second round tender is worth $2.5m for a year. If no team makes an offer on the player he signs that minimum contract, if another team makes an offer the player's current club can either match it or choose to let him go and they get the pick that the tender was worth.
A transition tag (which is what Olivier Vernon had) is a bit different. The team has the chance to match the contract but gets nothing if they let him go, the Dolphins took it off him as they realised they wouldn't be able to match an offer so they could get a compensatory pick for him.
What if they don't want to play for $2.5m? Do the players get a say in it? If not it seems a bit unfair. Couldn't a team just do that year on year, or is there a limit on it?
They don't have a say in it and there's a limit to it.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Restricted_free_agent
7/11 is close to get his (relative) pay day.
Great underdog story, he was paid just shy of $500k last year.
Manziel
Some other chump will give him a shot. At least tebow could run.
Jerry will.
I wonder when teams will realise that mobile QBs that can't pass just don't work in the NFL.
Denver have gone from Peyton Manning to Mark Sanchez in the space of a week. Got to love the NFL.
TBH that's a very low risk move. He could play and gives you as good a chance as winning as Peyton did last year with his interceptions. It's not a long term answer, but it's pretty shrewd.
With the defence they have (even if it's only 70-80% as good next year) they don't need an elite QB to compete.
I'd rather Mark Sanchez under centre than Colin Kaepernick tbf.
Conditional 7th round pick too.
I'd imagine that they'll go for Fitzpatrick if the Jets don't re-sign him and hope to draft someone who will learn from Mark Sanchez's mistakes.
Maybe I'm just biased from all the interceptions I've seen him throw for us.
I'd be going for Fitzpatrick personally, but he appears to want to be paid. At least more than the Jets are willing to in any case.
I'd be interested to see what happens should Kaep not leave the 49ers.
The Broncos only option would be to take RG3/Fitz. Jets are talking to both right now. Unless they get desperate enough to consider Manziel.
Apparently rg3 is heading to New York to met the jets.
Potentially just a scare tactic for Fitzpatrick.
NFL.com running with the headline "Manziel era over in Cleveland".... fuck right off.
Maybe they mean his partying in the clubs of Cleveland, because he did fuck all on the field.
I suspect there's still work being done but I'll chuck the Sanchize a  if only for not being Kaepernick.
Steelers are set to be without Martavis Bryant for the whole of next season.
He's looking at a full season suspension for failing the substance and abuse programme. Must have failed a test at the end of the season.
EDIT: Link
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...ong-suspension
:harold:
Considering our secondary, no matter how shit, always locks down Antonio Brown that's two guaranteed wins already for us.
Superbowl bound.
I had my eyes on him being my 3rd or 4th choice WR in next years fantasy leagues.
Still what a tit. Shame they still have so many weapons on the team.
The Bears have done the best piece of business thus far by signing Jerrell Freeman on a 3 year contract for $12m with only $6m guaranteed.
He's 30 but he's one of the best coverage inside linebackers in the game and he improved so much against the run last year.
Casey Hayward has signed for the Chargers. Blow to lose him.
The Dolphins have offered to make CJ Anderson the 3rd highest paid RB in the league....
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...al-with-ravens
We've signed Eric Weddle
I was hoping we'd pick him up after the Chargers decided they no longer wanted him.
Four years, $26m with $13m guaranteed.
BJ Raji has retired. Another hole to fill on the defense.
Interesting-ish point made in MMQB that had a California team wanted to match Malik Jackson's take-home they'd have had to spend an extra $7m because of states and their different taxes.
Genuinely not something I'd considered during 'why didn't X try to sign y' arguments.
It might just be a 'hiatus'.
Quote:
"I am taking a hiatus from the NFL and will not play during the 2016 NFL season," Raji said. "This decision was made after hours of conversation with close family members and mentors and considerable self-introspection and is one in which I am absolutely certain. I cannot rule out a return to the NFL in the future, but I will definitely not be playing during the 2016 season."
Given the physical and mental state of some players when they retire it's hard to blame the guys who are now having a good long think about their futures.
Also, what's the alternative to self-introspection?
What are the odds for 3 teams from the AFC North making the play-offs next year? Because I like that signing.
In Kaepernick news, the Broncos are willing to go as high as a 4th round pick for him, but they don't actually have a pick in the 4th round this year. The Browns meanwhile value him at a 3rd round pick. All of this needs to come to a conclusion before the 1st of April. As soon as that day hits the 49ers owe him a guaranteed $12m.
They owe him that if he doesn't pass a medical, but yeah.
I was reading about franchise revenues earlier. What do teams like the Dallas Cowboys do with all their money if they can't use it on wages? Does it just pay for that lol stadium and line pockets?
Why does NFL.com seem to have a narrative that every team is doing fucking incredible work in Free Agency? I watched their grading teams the other day and despite probably only watching 12-16 of the teams the lowest score I saw was a B-. Now they've posted "Winners and Losers" from free agency and so many teams are named as "winners", in additional to more vague terms such as "Teams that concluded deals early" and "teams that remained quiet" while the losers are the Broncos and then a load of shit like "Old players" and "Moneyball references".
Chandler Jones traded to the Cards.
For Jonathan Cooper who has been pretty woeful and a second round pick.
Cardinals have gotten themselves a stud but they might lose him next year as his contract is up at the end of the season.
Oh and CJ Anderson is staying in Denver after they decided to match the Dolphins offer.
Was thinking they might after they freed up space.
With or without Hillman?
Jared Cook would be nice. Bet Thompson re-signs Quarless instead.
Anyone know much about J'Marcus Webb? His signing is bad news for Justin Britt.
http://mmqb.si.com/mmqb/2016/03/15/j...eveland-browns
Good article. Oddly unsympathetic given the people talking him up don't seem, largely, to be doing so in a way that's unreasonable.
He's just Ryan Leaf, really.
We've released Will Hill.
I was hoping he wasn't the odd man out in the safety merry-go-round.
Weddle at FS and Webb converting from a CB at SS for us next season.
Being reported that Hill failed another drug test (he was cut by the Giants for failing three tests) so is facing 10 games out.
Was wondering why the hell they cut him instead of Lewis who was worse in coverage.
It amazes me just how stupid a lot of people in sports are. Just don't take drugs for a few years and then snort everything under the sun up your nose ffs.
Especially in the NFL where a career can be short enough to begin with.
I've just seen that there is a 410 pound TE hoping to be drafted this year...
https://cdn1.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/-G6...78/390td.0.gif
https://usatthebiglead.files.wordpre...d-a.gif?w=1000
https://cdn1.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/eVm...aquaaaan.0.gif
I like how his teammate refuses to try and lift him.
Someone needs to draft him.
Mon Elway, get him and Lorenzen in.
DO IT.
Good luck trying to tackle him on the move!
In maybe an odd move, the Patriots have taken Martellus Bennett from Chicago. Maybe they'll just add a TE to cover their relative lack of receiver talent past Edelman.
On Hill being cut, aren't the Ravens notorious for cutting anyone who gets in the shit?
Well more so since Ray Rice and the year we had 5 players arrested.
It wasn't reported initially though (just cap saving) which is why I was surprised as he's been better than Kendrick Lewis.
Not really odd, the Patriots are a notorious two TE system. Gives them the best punch since Aaron Hernandez was lining up with Gronk. Catch a few TD passes and don't murder three people and he'll be deemed a success.
They've also signed Chris Long for a year on a $2m deal which is a very clever move. He's injury prone as fuck but a damn good player for a great price.
Speaking of Hernandez it seems he has decided to pick the Bloods as his gang of choice:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...der-trial.html
http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2015/...0852079931.jpg
The Broncos have signed Okung to a big 5 year deal at something like $55m.
Fair play to him too seeing as he has no agent.
Think it's a little much considering his injury record but he's damn good when he's on the field. For some reason I thought he was at least 32 but he's only 28.
Seemingly it's a one year deal worth $5m (rising to $8m with incentives) and then they have an options after 1 year to extend it for a further 4 years for an additional $48m.
The league competition committee meets next week and will be discussing possible changes to the game for the next season. There's only a couple items on the agenda but one I think is needed:
- The 'horse collar rule' which is essentially just dragging people around by the collar is expected to be extended to the area around the nameplate on the jersey.
- All chop blocks to be made illegal(more like tweak the wording of the rule already)
- Touchbacks after a kick, to be moved forward 5 yards to the 25.
- The Chiefs have requested a rule to stop QBs falling down, getting back up and throwing a forward pass
- Players to be automatically ejected from the game for incurring their 2nd personal foul penalty.
Tray Walker, one of our backup CB's who played quite a bit last year due to injuries has been critically injured in a motorbike crash. He was damn good on special teams so it's a bit of a shitter.
MMQB say catching rules are coming up again too after the committee met with current and former players in January. I don't think there's a need to relax the rules (the offense has enough advantages), just make them clearer and try to find ways to improve consistency from the officials.
Colts have retired number 18 and will be building a statue of Peyton Manning.
They need to make it mid slide during this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7_aDs1lm10
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...did-at-combine
Is hand size the worst bullshit thing in judging players? I think it's a contender.Quote:
Jared Goff's hand size was highly scrutinized last month at the NFL Scouting Combine when the Cal quarterback's mitt measured just nine inches, a full inch smaller than that of North Dakota State's Carson Wentz, and especially after Cleveland Browns coach Hue Jackson explained why the measurement matters to him.
As of Friday, however, it's less of an issue by one-eighth of an inch.
Goff's hand measured 9 1/8 inches at Cal's pro day on Friday, just a bit bigger than it did roughly three weeks ago at the combine. Did he simply do a better job of spreading his fingers for the measurement, which extends from thumb tip to the tip of the pinky finger?
Mine are 9.75 inches so if any NFL team wants to pay me a mountain of cash to throw balls around and make Peyton look like a speed demon just let me know.
10 inches.
Apparently Goff's 9 inchers could lose him millions of dollars because how you play doesn't mean shit. It seems that the Browns aren't so keen now.
Speaking of hands, Deforest Buckner's are 11.75 inches. The record is held by Robert Wadlow at 12 inches but he was 8 foot 11.
You're CB has passed away mahow
:(
Damn, he was only 23 as well.
Was only drafted last year and played well when he was called on.
http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/b...508-story.html
Tommy Lee Walker's ashes were spread off of the waters of Miami last Sunday by his family.
It was one day after the Ravens drafted his son, Texas Southern cornerback Tray Walker, in the fourth round.
It would have been his father's 54th birthday. Tommy Lee Walker died in November from a heart attack.
"This upcoming season, the whole process of right now, I dedicate that to him," Tray Walker said Friday during the first day of a rookie minicamp at the Ravens' training complex. "That's all he wanted. He just wanted the best for me and prayed to God that I would get this chance, and now I'm here."
Fucking hell :(
Went to work this afternoon after just hearing news of his crash. Apparently he was on his bike, with no lights and wearing all dark clothes. Never stood a chance. :(
Counting down to Bruce saying Eli is more of a Colts legend than Peyton in 3...2...1...
You rang? :D
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...on-hard-knocks
LA Rams to be the focus of Hard Knocks this year, I think it's a great choice.
Also, the NFL wants to host a game in Germany in 2017 and one in China in 2018.
The Rams look set to be the home team for the China game.
I honestly can't see the NFL being big in Asia.
Given NFL Europe was basically NFL Germany by the end it's criminal that they've not had a game sooner.
China, though? Huh.
They're on about one in Mexico too aren't they? International series indeed.
I always found it strange they pushed London so much ahead of anything in Germany, but it worked out pretty well.
I still don't ever wish to go to a game outside the US though.
It's happening this year. Raiders against the Texans in November.
First Monday night game outside of the US.
They held one in Mexico years ago too though.
Plus the Bills were having a game in Toronto every year for quite a while but that didn't go so well. The attendances were as follows:
52,134 in 2008
51,567 in 2009
50,746 in 2010
51,579 in 2011
40,770 in 2012
38,969 in 2013.
Clearly the Canadians weren't too keen on Bills football and the Bills fans hated it seeing as they lost every year bar 2011.
The international games are amazing. I can't wait for 3 more this year.
I also noted that THE BEST OFFENSIVE LINE IN FOOTBALL is going to be wasted once again with Alfred Morris failing to take advantage of it.
I think it will be interesting to see how Morris fares.
He was amazing for his first two years because Washington had a decent offensive line and the read option was working so damn well.
They paid a good price too. Two years, $3.5m which is nothing.

Easily the best mock draft ever.
I'll take SuperGirl if it means I get the girl that plays her in the TV series.
Melissa Benoist
Her pics in the fappening were among the best.
She looks fantastic naked. Even with some guy in her :D
In much less interesting news. The Browns are signing RG3.
I'm not sure if that's good news or bad news.
They might not take a QB now which could hurt our chances of taking DeForest Buckner who I think makes the most sense. Ramsey will be gone, as will Tunsil and I feel the others just aren't that great. Bosa looks like he could easily be out of the league fairly sharpish and Stanley seems like a reach for 6th.
Plus a front three of Jernigan, Williams and Buckner would be incredible.
He could potentially be gone if the Browns don't take a QB.
What a place to go to put the final bullet in that career.
It does throw the cat among the pigeons.
The Browns taking QB at 2 was the only thing that was really a lock. Now, beyond Tunsil going to the Titans anything could happen in that top 10.
It does however mean we could have got one of Goff/Wentz. I wonder if we'll be tempted even with Bradford and Daniel.
To be honest, the latest rumours I've heard is that the Titans will be picking Ramsey at number 1.
Apparently their ultimate goal was to try and trade down so they could select Ramsey a couple of picks later but the hype train around him is rolling so much and there are no real trading partners that they feel that they can't trade down and will be happy to pick him first.
Might be bullshit but the guy who has circulated the rumour is usually right.
After Locker flamed out because of shit offensive line play and Mariota looking even more susceptible it'd be madness not to start at least building some kind of line around him. Mariota took a pasting last year too, so the talent they currently have clearly isn't good enough (ranked 26th of 32).
It's also pretty rare for a DB to be taken that high.
They did pick Lewan high last year.
They've also upgraded their center and there are still a lot of good guards knocking around in free agency.
Plus there's always talent later on.
The best rookie lineman last year was probably Collins who went undrafted because of his issues off the field.
They have a quality young QB there who was getting a beating because of his O-line. I can't believe they wouldn't invest a top pick into helping him out.
While there are great CBs in this year, I think they'd be daft not to protect their earlier investment.
This all will give the Cowboys a decision to make though. Assuming the Browns don't take a QB at 2 anyway.
A couple of people from work are already starting to think about their fantasy draft strategy for the coming season.
While I don't know how it will go. I can almost guarantee it wont have a QB going pick #1 and #2 again. I'm also certain a kicker wont go first round again either.
It's too early even for me, but I did notice that NFL.com had a "It's never too early for fantasy" advert up the other day.
It was prompted by that very ad.
People sound like having varying strategy this time instead of oh yeah, I'll copy the guy that's played before. Even still if Gurley isn't gone at #1 I'll be very surprised.
I think Bell will end up being the consensus number 1 if he can prove his fitness.
All I know is despite being in a 2 QB league I'll be neglecting the position entirely given that Smith and Fitzpatrick won me a title that Manning and Romo conspired to deny me.
The only QB I could really see going early is Cam in our league.
The guy running the league is planning on dropping the option to play QB at flex next season, so it should get more interesting in later rounds. People ended up with 4/5 QBs in their squad at points last season just because they could and it got a little irritating.
I have Gurley at #1 because I think some of the guys have bought into his big hype.
I'll probably throw something together nearer the time. Last time we used Yahoo but I'm open to trying something new.
I'm most used to the Fox one and will host one if wanted, but there's no point in doing so until closer to August.
As it stands I know of about 5 of us who'd join in so we'd need to get that up to at least 8 really. If we could manage double figures it'd be great.
Jared Cook has signed. Playing wise, he could be a massive difference but he's such a rotten element to have around a team. Big risk.
Talked some more with the league commissioner yesterday. He's dropping the QB at flex option for next year. Which should in theory make one or two tempted to pick up a QB early. I don't think we'll see Rodgers and Wilson go 1 and 2 overall again though. He's also going to put a fee on every successful waiver/FA claim. Only £1, but it all goes back into prize money.
I've started laying the seeds of deception now. My late season wins came a few times at the hands of the Barn Yard Dog, so I've started telling people no matter what number I get, he's my first round pick.
On my way to the title last year I made 107 moves (most in the league) and the other 7 combined totaled 409. Would have been a nice pay day but if I had lost.....
No, no way I could live with £1 a move. :D
The Eagles have had Goff in for a private workout and are due to have Wentz in on Wednesday.
You'd have to imagine both would be gone by pick #8, but it's interesting to see us still looking at QBs.
The Broncos are now looking at Hoyer and McCown :D
We've got Paxton Lynch visiting on Thursday too. Our owner to be present at all these visits. Looks like we're serious.
McCown and Sanchez. What a fall that's been.
They'll be "looking at" everybody who's available. If Fitzpatrick isn't going to cost much I'd go for him. Failing that Sanchez under orders to not try and perform heroics and drafting a QB would be my preference.
If I see #ButtFumble trending next season, I'll know why.
Apparently Walter Thurmond has been rejecting offers of over $4m a year and is thinking about retiring.
Well at least he is trying hard for his second chance. Will be interesting if we do actually sign him (we have an unofficial agreement with him, I'm guessing it involves him passing various physical tests) and how he performs.
:cab: I don't see any difference.
He's weighing in less now than when he was drafted. I hope he gets another chance because he seems like he's worked hard at it.
Speaking of lighter RB's :|
That's a classic sucking it in face.
I've pulled it many times.
If Lacy puts in the work this off season he could have a massive year coming up.
No sucking that in.

This picture sums it up. He really let himself go since he came into the NFL.

Can buy a lot of cakes on his salary tbf.
There's talk that a German might well be drafted.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jfv0OPczDlw
Teams are apparently wanking themselves into a coma as he is 6 foot 4 and can run 40 yards in 4.39 seconds and can jump vertically 37 inches. No word on how big his hands are though which is surely going to make or break his chances.
The defending on show in the video is fucking amazingly shit but he can run fast and jump high.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...49-million-gap
Less than $5 million in salary is now all that stands in the way of Colin Kaepernick heading to the Denver Broncos, according to a new report.
ESPN reported Sunday that the Broncos and San Francisco 49ers have "the parameters of an agreement in principle" on a long-awaited trade involving the veteran quarterback.
What's the holdup? A source told ESPN that the two sides must still agree on who will pay the $11.9 million in 2016 salary that became guaranteed on Friday. The Broncos have agreed to pay $7 million of Kaepernick's salary, and are pushing for the 49ers to pay for the entire 2016 figure, according to a source.
The 49ers are not willing to do that at this time and Kaepernick has not been open to taking a paycut to wipe out the balance.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport previously reported that Denver had asked Kaepernick to reduce his salary to be in line with what other backup/starter hybrids are at -- the $7 million mark. That's what Chase Daniel makes per year for Philly and nearly what Robert Griffin III makes in Cleveland (2 years, $15 million).
Make it fucking happen.
They make it sound like $5m is nothing. Even within the context of the NFL, that's still almost 50% of the guys salary.
They'd be much better waiting for the draft and taking Paxton Lynch.
Put up with Sanchez for a season and get Lynch ready.
For someone who's clearly going to dot around the league, asking him to give up $5 million (that he's now guaranteed) is a bit mental.
Being dropped for gabbert has to hurt, but not sure it's worth throwing $5 million down the drain for.
I guess there's an argument that if he guides them to a Super Bowl (and say what you want... but he's better than Manning was last year, comfortably) then he'll command much more money in future. But I agree, I can't see why he'd give up $5m this year.
You say that, but he's already proven he can guide a team to a Super Bowl.
In his eyes he probably thinks he's earned his big contract already and has no reason to give it up.
Chip clearly doesn't think he's the solution but elway basically saying we don't think you're our answer isn't really going to be a huge driver. The nfl is a business and the players are well aware of that now. If the shoe was on the other foot kap would be tossed at the first opportunity.
LeSean McCoy hasn't been charged for his assault on a police officer due to lack of any evidence so he wont be missing any games for the Bills.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...ive-on-twitter
Thursday night football to be streamed live on Twitter.
It's the one night that has games that I absolutely cannot stay up, so fuck that.
Yeah that's going to make no difference to me whatsoever.
@Giggles: Hola, no?
The games will still be on Sky anyway.
How're you using Hola, Giggles? Just the add-on or the weird standalone thing? Still works for Netflix for me.
I have the app on my tablet so I open that and then open the Netflix app through it as US or UK but I still always end up with the shitty local library. It used to work, and stuff like iPlayer work OK still, but I know Netflix have been doing their best to stop workarounds.
I can only watch Thursday games live every other week. Though it'll still be good to have more ways of watching.
Pre-season schedules are up.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...ter-10-seasons
D'Brickashaw Ferguson (who has never missed a game in 10 seasons, hell he only missed one snap in 10,708 and it wasn't due to injury) has retired.
A bit of a shocker that and despite helping the Jets massively in terms of cap space they have no left tackle now.
Goodbye to the best name in football.
Another smart man. He must be loaded.
I've always preferred Captain Munnerlyn.
It seems there are loads of mental names in college that don't make it.

I'm rooting for Weston Steelhammer and Chongo Kondolo.
There was a guy came through the draft on one of the Maddens (seemingly everyone got the same players) called OJ Justice. Someone must have been taking the piss.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...e-with-broncos
Clady and a seventh round pick to the Jets for a fifth rounder.
It's the best they could have hoped for but Clady is made out of glass.
Clady was a proper beast when he first came into the league and is still good on the game every third blue moon when you find he's actually fit. Better got rid of.
Former Saints DE Will Smith killed in road rage incident.

Throwing away 2 lives and ruining several more over a pissing car crash. For fucks sake.
:nono:
Anyone done a mock draft?
I'm tempted to put one together to see how I do.
I think Jacksonville will be interesting at 5. They seem to be in the habit of drafting Florida guys which unless Ramsey falls horrendously would mean a serious reach for Hargreaves.
The 49ers doing a Rodgers mark 2 with Goff (if available) is drool worthy too.
I think the top 10 is pretty much locked in.
I've got:
Jalen Ramsey
Carson Wentz
Laremy Tunsil
Joey Bosa
Miles Jack
DeForest Buckner
Jared Goff
Ezekiel Elliot
Leonard Floyd
Ronnie Stanley.
I keep hearing noise about Ramsey to the Titans, they feel he's a special talent and that they can get a offensive line help in the second round.
Josh Gordon was attempting to get reinstated after a year long suspension.
Problem is that he's tested positive for marijuana again :D
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...ana-last-month
I was just about to post that. What a tit he is.
Browns need to start taking players lifestyles into account when they draft them.
I'm in the "does it really fucking matter" camp.
He's a grown man. If he's shit and can't control himself he'll get released. Basically holding a talented player, who wants to play, back is just ridiculous.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...minique-easley
Former first-round pick Dominique Easley played exceedingly well for the New England Patriots last season when he was healthy. That makes his release all the more surprising.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Easley was released on Wednesday after playing only 22 games over two seasons. Tom Curran of Comcast SportsNet New England first reported the news.
Must be more there because it's hard to believe a team would give up on a first rounder, who has played well after only two years.
Looking at that Gordon story:
In February 2015, Gordon was suspended without pay for at least one year for violating the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse. Gordon tested positive for alcohol, and later acknowledged he had two beers and two cocktails on a private jet to Las Vegas.
- - - - -
Fuck off is that worth a year ban.
Oh right, I didn't know he was under probation.
First pick traded to the LA Rams.
LA gives Tennessee:
2016 1st round (15)
2016 2nd round (43)
2016 2nd round (45)
2016 3rd round (76)
2017 1st round
2017 3rd round
Tennessee gives LA:
2016 1st round (1)
2016 4th round (113)
2016 6th round (177)
Holy fuck.
Well Carson Wentz is probably smiling now as he's in for a bigger payday.
If the Titans play this well they could become a serious fucking team, they wont because they're the Titans.
I now have the draft going like this:
Wentz
Goff
Tunsil
Ramsey
Myles Jack (Bosa is another option)
DeFores Buckner
Joey Bosa (or Myles Jack)
Ezekiel Elliot.
Rams are idiots.
Andrew Brandt's logic on MMQB that they're doing fuck all in that division without a QB upgrade makes some sense but that's still a hell of a deal for Tennessee.
The Titans are going to be busy boys in this draft. They're getting a ton of early round picks. It's not like they're end of rounders either, they've basically 2 1s, 3 2s and a 3.
That trade is right up there with the one the Rams were on the receiving end of from Washington a few years back in terms of the ridiculous number of picks involved.
Who do we think the Titans will be taking now then? Tunsil & Ramsey will both be long gone by #15, and it's likely that Ronnie Stanley could be off the board too. Meanwhile, Jalen Ramsey cannot be replicated by anyone. Do they still target those positions early, or do they switch to building other areas?
Stanley might still be there, if he's not they will take the next best lineman which is probably Conklin.
As a Rams fan that trade is scary. We have so many holes on offence we need the picks and last time we took a QB 1st round it didn't go so well. Without a WR and a TE all the QB will be doing again is handing off to Gurly.
It's not like we're good at picking in the 4th and later rounds either.
What did I miss today? Jeez.
That trade is hard for the Titans to turn down because they can seriously sort out their team now, if they do it right. For the Rams it's a little mad, but I understand it. They've been pussyfooting around with QBs over the last few years now and without one were probably destined to go 7-9 until the end of time. They needed to take a chance here. I'm guessing they want Wentz and he looks like he's got the goods.
Big losers from this deal are the 49ers. They're now looking down the barrel, QB-wise. Eagles have also taken a hit on this. Our move up to #8 looked decent but now we're looking at being locked in to taking Elliott.
Also Percy Harvin is done and the Eagles 2nd half of the season looks seriously difficult. :worried:
And thus the whole mock draft pish of the last month was deemed pointless :D
That's a batshit trade by the Rams though, I'll be glad to see the Giants shit on whichever quarterback they choose
I'm just not sure they're going Wentz.
New home, number 1 pick, re-establishing a fan base, a 'top' rated QB from California who played his college ball an hour away.
It'll all depend on what big Jeff thinks. It'll be really interesting to see if they pick QB @ 1 and the Browns bottle it and trade the pick to the 49ers for Kaepernick plus a whole bunch of picks. I'm exciting about the draft.
If they could get an inkling who Cleveland want and then trade them the #1.
They'd want Wentz, Hue Jackson seems mental enough to actually think that Goff's hand size is too small to play in the division.
"It matters because we play in a division where all of a sudden there's rain, there's snow and it's different. I think guys that have big hands can grip the ball better in those environmental situations," Jackson said.
Manziel has pretty damn big hands (touch under 10 inches) so clearly it's not all a load of complete and utter bollocks...

Battering the Steelers in Pittsburgh on Christmas
The most annoying thing about the fixture list being released today has made me remember just how fucking far away the new season is though :(
You could potentially have 5 wins on the board before your bye week there. That's also assuming that the Giants and the Raiders costly additions work out for them. Ravens/Steelers games are always tasty :p
It is far away though which is why I've been getting myself involved in very early fantasy talk. Keeps you sane while waiting.
Brandon Browner has gone back to the Seahawks.
It's really happened. He's gone :fun:
Unless that's for the league minimum I'm not sure why the Seahawks have taken him back.
I know that he was alright there but he had far too many penalties and corners look better due to the safety help from Thomas and Chancellor.
I hope his story about playing a season with a torn MCL is the real reason behind him being awful.
Ravens sign Trent Richardson.
Good to see him get a chance after he seemingly worked his ass off to get back.
Sounds like he's on the right track too.
We gave him some targets to meet and he's obviously done that so he's working hard.
Anyone been on NFL.com and done a mock draft?
http://imgur.com/a/chpJs
Apologies for the horrific photos. I have no idea how to screen shot on a mac.
I think Bosa goes top 6. Well at least he was going to before the big trade. I don't think he falls to 10 as we'll probably just take best player available, should Elliott not fall to us.
Plus the Giants have just spent mega money on their defense. They need someone to throw the ball to besides Beckham. I see them taking a WR.
They'll go defense.
Hargreaves will fall to them and they'll snap him up because they still need help in the secondary.
The draft seems to be loaded with DT talent. I dont really see someone who the Giants would take at 10 as a WR, unless they think Fuller/Treadwell is hugely under rated.
Tried to think outside the box a bit too. It's pretty difficult actually because if you base it on talent rather than need there's just a stuffing of square pegs in round holes, ala the Giants @ 10.
What I find interesting now is what the Browns do. They have RG3 for a year and could benefit from playing the long game. Realistically they must know that they will be in the top 5 for draft picks next year. There's some teams below them this year who are desperate for a QB(49ers, Jets, Broncos and maybe Eagles). Denver wont reach that far up but any of the others could trade up. They could see what the Titans have just got and ask for something a little similar. They'll still be top 5 next year to take a QB incase RG3 doesn't work out too.
True. The trade up has knocked me out of where I expected people going a little bit. If teams just take the best talent available down to them I could see them taking someone like Hargreaves as I'd expect Bosa to still go before them.
To be fair it is actually quite hard to predict the top 10 past pick #2.
http://i.imgur.com/hEU034X.png http://i.imgur.com/K54r3Ec.png
Top 11 is a lock (Jaguars and Niners might swap), the latter half is a bit of a mess other than Texans, Vikings and Bengals.
It's going to be brilliant because it could play out in so many different ways. There's like 10 or 11 guys you could legitimately plonk in the top 5, at any of the spots.
I'm also of the opinion that if the Rams take the QB they want they'll open the telephones. RG3 could be a starter again, for what is a poor team. If the Browns aren't sold on the QB left at 2, I don't think they take him. They've had too many misses to just take a punt because he's the next best guy.
I've been hearing today that the Ravens want to try and trade out of the top 10 too which could be a great move.
The more I think about, the more I believe that the team covets Buckner and I don't see the Niners, Eagles, Bucs, Giants, Bears and possibly the Dolphins taking him if he's there.
We've also started chugging out rumours that we're interested in Ezekiel Elliot to try and get a trade done I'd imagine.
Zeek's going to join Jerry and the gang at 4. They can't keep wasting that offensive line.
If not him, would be interesting to see if they pick up Derrick Henry early in R2.
They finished ninth in rushing last year with Run DMC, Lance Dumber and Joseph Randle.
They don't need a running back with their line.
Plus you can draft legit runners outside of the first round pretty easily now.
Took a whack at it, ignoring the draft best available strategy and mixing team needs and who I've like the look of.
I have Goff going to the Rams and Wentz to the Browns. Simply because I don't think the Browns want Goff and will trade it away if Wentz is taken.

Got about halfway through the second round before I was picking people I'd barely heard of. Not 100% sure I've even got the picks right in that round either, actually :D It's really interesting to see how wildly pretty much every draft is from the others though.
i ran a 7 round mock on the college football board i go to if anyone cares.
mind, this was done before the big trade involving the 1st pick.... but thought i'd share anyways since people are posting mocks.

Eagles just traded up to #2.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...ck-from-browns
Philadelphia will receive a 2017 fourth-round pick along with the No. 2 pick in exchange for five picks. The five picks Philly gave up are the No. 8, No. 77 (third round) and No. 100 (fourth round) selections in this year's draft, along with next year's first-round pick and a second-round pick in 2018.
They must really love Wentz/Goff.
Also, we might end up with Tunsil. Chargers would take Ramsey and the Cowboys and Jags don't need O-Line help.
Christ, if we end up with the best tackle in the draft at number 6 we've done amazingly well.
Tunsil (who I thought we had no chance of getting), Ramsey (hardly any chance of him falling that far) or Buckner please
Browns will waste all those picks & RG3 will be injured by week three
We gave up a lot, but we must really like what we saw in Wentz or Goff. The latter supposedly had a killer pro day.
I have no idea which one I or we will prefer. Either way this is one excited Eagles fan.
Panthers have just taken away the Franchise Tag from Josh Norman. He's technically a free agent now. He's going to get seriously paid here.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...on-josh-norman
That's huge.
They must surely get some compensation if he gets signed now with no tag? Or maybe it's just a case of them deciding to lower their cap rate by a lot instead of keeping him for a year.
Jags are still over $50m under the cap :cab: so will probably pay him a mountain of cash.
If they do indeed get him and then go for Jack or Bosa their defence would be solid.
So they now have no pick until round 3 next year just to move up 6 spots and get whichever QB the Rams decide is shit?
Idiots.
Current consensus is that Goff is being taken by the Rams while we will take Wentz. I'm honestly happy to see either even if it will be odd not seeing them play for a year or two.
In Josh Norman news, he's visiting the Redskins today with the 49ers the other team lining him up. I'd love him at Washington. He'd make the NFC East better and watching him and Beckham go at it twice a year would be awesome.
NFL.com have done a Game of Thrones mock draft now.... :D
http://www.nfl.com/photoessays/0ap30...nes-mock-draft
5 years, $75m with $50m guaranteed is what the Redskins have paid for Norman.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...-with-redskins
I didn't think the Redskins had the cap so thought it would be a shootout between the Jags and Niners.
They don't, so that'll be interesting.
Still, means that's another big name I get to see at Wembley.
Aren't big-money free agent cornerbacks notoriously risky? Or am I just thinking of a couple of high-profile relative disappointments (or just making stuff up altogether)?
Most Redskins free agents are anyway.
I never saw this at the time.

:D
Heads up to anyone jersey hunting, the US NFL store has some Elite jerseys(normally $300) reduced down to around $20. Obviously the players on them have all left their teams, but if you don't mind that it's a great way to get a top quality shirt for next to fuck all.
No Ravens ones :(
Jerseys with old names are great, I remember once seeing a kid have Sheringham 10 on his shirt. However Sheringham had just left for United so he used marker to cross his name out and write Ferdinand just underneath.
I wouldn't mind a Murray one. Obviously his time with us wasn't great, but I'm never likely to pay £200+ for a shirt.
The Redskins
Fat Albert Mk II
Most of those very reduced elite jerseys have gone. Managed to get the black alternate Murray jersey in a size 44. Had i more money, there's another selection knocked down to half price with a Saints Graham jersey included. But either way I got a £200+ jersey for £34.
I think that's me done on NFL gear for a bit. I'll have to wait to see if they have pop up shops at the International Series.
Brady is banned for 4 games again.
At the Cardinals and then home games against the Dolphins, Texans and Bills.
They'll lose against Arizona but be fine against the others.
Shits going down in Philly.
Sam Bradford has supposedly requested a trade from the team.
EDIT: I will say this is mere weeks after us giving him £11m as a signing bonus. He's obviously unhappy at the draft decision but I guess now we have to shift him. (HI Denver :D)
I really don't understand what the Eagles are doing. Chip kelly dismantled their roster and they've decided to throw away their draft philosophy to presumably pick up yet another qb.
Can understand what bradfords agent will have told him. "They obviously don't rate you long term and expect you to teach your successor. They've tied you down to guaranteed money and have already thrown away draft picks to prevent one of the other qb needing teams to get one of the "top" qbs. They're not going to be able to improve the roster so you'll have some serious shit around you.
The Broncos are still looking for a quarterback and don't stand much chance getting one of the top guys in the draft. We can work this to get you a move to a championship team."
If the Eagles take a qb then that's a horrible position to step into. Hi guys. I have no experience but both of your time here is limited because I'm the second pick in the draft. Teach me how to be a pro.
It is a little odd to be fair, to sign up a starter and then bring in a back up that the coach obviously thinks highly of. You can only imagine the situation when we signed him was one of being unable to trade up at that point.
I firmly believe the Browns only traded away due to them knowing they wont get the QB they want after the Rams pick. I've said before that Goff moved himself up to the the top of the draft with his by all accounts, outstanding pro day.
This could still work out in our favour. Assuming Denver would be interested we could grab a draft pick back that we just lost.
I thought they traded down because they believed that the Rams would take Wentz who was their target as Hue Jackson wasn't a fan of Goff.
I think it works well for them though, they can get better in other areas for the long term but still fail enough to grab a QB next year. I've heard that Deshaun Watson and Brad Kaaya are better than Goff/Wentz.
Also, 2017 seems to be the year of the mental names. Looking at some stuff about potential draftees next year and there is JuJu Smith-Schuster, Jabrill Peppers, Tre'Davious White, Adoree Jackson, Malachi Dupre, Nick Chubb (lol), Armani Watts, Raekwon McMillan, Davon Godchaux and many more.
This. The hands size thing(which is ridiculous) is putting them off apparently, which will be the reason they traded.
I watched a couple games of Watson last year. He looks good but I feel he tries to run too much. Then again I've said that about Cam before and he killed it for 99.9% of last season.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...n-exgirlfriend
A Texas grand jury has indicted ex-Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel on an assault charge after his ex-girlfriend accused him of domestic violence.
The Heisman Trophy winner and former Texas A&M star was indicted Tuesday on a charge of misdemeanor assault related to family violence. The Class A misdemeanor carries up to one year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
I'm so glad.
Also, I've been hearing rumours of the Chargers taking either Buckner or Stanley.
They really are the wildcard in that top 10.
And goodbye football career. Had his chances so I really have no sympathy.
When there were some rumours that Denver wanted him (based not so much on us making a real move for him but based on Elway apparently having liked him previously) I was briefly desperate for us to announce the Kaepernick signing just to nip that little fucker in the bud.
A deeply unpleasant young man.
Yeah, what they do (and to a lesser extent Dallas at 4) will be huge in determining how the top 10-15 picks go. Can see San Diego taking Buckner, Ramsey or Tunsil, and trading down is apparently a possibility too. As for Dallas, Bosa & Elliott are the most likely two, but Ramsey could be an option if the Chargers don't take him, and it's not inconceivable that they trade down either, especially as we're being linked to Paxton Lynch now & we'd probably need to get in ahead of San Francisco to be sure he's still there.
Personally I'd like to see us take a defensive end in R1, and then a DT & Thomas Duarte in the next two rounds, to give us a bit more pass rush & another TE that could do what Jimmy Graham used to do for us. DT would probably depend on where they expect Duarte to go, but even in R3 it's likely than Adolphus Washington, Sheldon Day & Javon Hargrave will be there to pick from.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...ok-is-red-flag
"I worry about him because of off-the-field issues," said an unnamed scout. "The kid has no life skills. At all. Can't cook. Just a baby. He's not first round for me. He scares me to death."
:D
That has to be absolute bullshit, if not fucking hell.

Final edition of my mock, if we actually do get Tunsil we riot.
I could have done about twenty mock drafts this week. Tried to shake this one up with a couple of trades.
Toggle Spoiler
I could tweak that one in a load of places as well. Will probably be staying up to see how it pans out, although I have no idea how long it'll take for me to get bored & go to sleep :D
All it takes is one trade or one reach or one GM doing something legitimately stupid to blow the whole thing to hell. Why bother doing your own mock?
It's something to pass the time.
You can win prizes.
Oh, well that's a bit different. Not that I'm sure why it didn't occur to me that there'd probably be a competetive element.
I like the mock on... one of MMQB or SI where the guy referred to it as an "anti-mock." Basically saying he couldn't pretend to know how one individual GM might foul the whole thing up and just saying what he thought they should do instead.
What time is this at? I used to be all over it until they moved it from the weekennd and I realised it's mostly blind luck.
Coverage starts at midnights on SS1.
If he falls far enough I'm quite into the idea of Denver taking Ryan Kelly.
I'd say most mocks are what they think will happen, not necessarily should, combined with what they're hearing from the teams.
I've certainly read enough previous mocks which are fully taking into account that teams such as the Raiders, to name one, were likely to pick to form (loving a physical freak, for example) rather than do something more sensible.
Even this year I don't remember any mock-ers saying Goff and Wentz should be a nailed-on 1-2, it's just now fairly obviously going to be the case.
I'm 99% sure we're taking Goff. I'd like to be wrong, but I don't think I am.
There's too much chat on it for it not to happen but I'd love that sort of curveball.
It's always great when teams go proper left field.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BQHqTRMTCs
Although this is better due to what actually happened...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JH_S-KnAEp4
Probably the most happy a set of fans have ever been at a draft only for it to end with a butt fumble.
https://media.giphy.com/media/Ch3B2ty7gY7HW/giphy.gif
I still want him starting more than Kaepernick.
None other than John Elway once managed to line up under Guard so I'll run the risk of a 'butt-fumble' over that preening little shit.
Sometime during tonight one of the QBless teams will get desperate I think and make a mental offer.
We know pick #1 and #2 will be QBs. I have it as Wentz first then Goff. Just because the Browns were all set to take Wentz at #2, then when the Rams traded up they suddenly didn't want their #2 pick any more.
The picks that should shape this draft are #4 Cowboys and #6 Ravens. What these two pick will impact everyone below them except maybe the 49ers, who have to decide if #7 is too pricey for Paxton Lynch.
EDIT: Apparently Myles Jack is freefalling down the draft board. Teams are looking elsewhere, being worried about his surgically repaired knee.
I had him taking a slide (5th to 13th based on my first and final) but I can't see him going further than that. The guy seems like he could be a damn good player and has a good head on his shoulders. AP has also shown that knee injuries aren't the killers they once were.
I've heard a rumour that if Tunsil/Ramsay isn't at 6 and we can't trade down we could take Ezekiel Elliot which just seems mental. Forsett isn't exactly on his last legs, Allen and Taliaferro have run well when given a chance, West did well after he was signed last year and we still have the Richardson experiment.
If we can't trade down and Tunsil/Ramsay/Buckner isn't there I'd much rather Jack, he and Mosley could make a mean tandem.
I'm happy with either Goff or Wentz, but I really hope it's Wentz. I just like what I've seen from him.
I don't think the Ravens will trade back. You aren't likely to be in the top 6 again soon so why not take a top player.
It's all trying to play the percentages though, in the hope that the player they want wont be drafted by a run of teams based on their needs and Newsome and De Costa are two of the best at it.
Didn't realise that Nkemdiche was that mental.
Ole Miss defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche fell about 15 feet from an Atlanta hotel Saturday night, but the junior was conscious when officers reported to the scene and was in stable condition when taken to a local hospital, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
An APD report added that a small amount of what was suspected to be marijuana was found in a hotel room at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead. A call by The Clarion-Ledger to the hotel’s general manager, Scott Snipes, wasn’t immediately returned.
“It appears that the victim (Nkemdiche) broke the window and then walked approximately 15 feet and climbed over a wall and fell approximately 15 feet,” read the report.
He wont be in the league long.
If Tunsil(best player in the draft for me) is still free at #6 I think you take him. Bosa, Buckner, Ramsey and Tunsil are guaranteed takes. Beyond that it's down to what you get offered. If the price is enough then you move back.
San Diego, Dallas, San Francisco & Cleveland are the four big picks early on. Lots of different possible selections & it's not impossible that at least one of them trades down, which could really shake things up depending on who moves up.
I'm looking forward to this now. Just listening to a few PFF Shorts then I'll be booting up GamePass & trying not to fall asleep until at least after the Saints make their pick.
Yeah, Tunsil or Ramsay falling to us would be absolutely perfect.
I read that Mayock had us trading picks with the Titans (and them giving us the 33rd pick only) with Tunsil still there. The guys an absolute mong.
Word is the Browns and the Jags are willing to move back if the price is right. The Browns want to move up their 2nd round pick as well as backing up in the 1st.
Wait til teams are on the clock. It's going to go off I think.
The first pick should only get like a 2/3 minute window, especially if said team has traded up.
What wankers the Rams are for taking nearly the whole 10 minutes.
A quarterback as a first pick?
Shocker.
I think you'll see a lot of that as we move past #2.
Teams will want to see just how mental the offers will be.
In before Philly take someone that isn't Wentz.
So glad we didn't fuck that up. Now it really gets interesting.
@Mahow I agree. If Goff really was their man all along they didn't need another 9 minutes to decide.
Ezekiel Elliott is wearing some incredible gear tonight :D
http://l3.yimg.com/bt/api/res/1.2/SY...XtWYAAcv4y.jpg
Fucking hell :D
Jerry will probably take him just for that, to be fair.
Oh shit, didn't see that coming.
Bosa to the Chargers. That should kick things off :D
Ramsay or Tunsil is fucking on
Interesting...
Ravens get Tunsil and Mahow riots.
He seems like a nice chap, hope he does well.
Please do something stupid, please do something stupid, please do something stupid :yn:
They surely have to take some Romo protection here.
This sounds like it has to be Ramsey then.
Cowboys should take Ramsey, their secondary is shambolic.
Running backs can be had off the street, especially with a line like the Cowboys.
Someone calm @Mahow. :D
Jerry's got involved there.
Spending the 4th pick on a running back :harold:
This isn't the early 00's lads.
Excellent, get straight out there & call Jalen Ramsey's name next.
Think you're safe now Mahow.
How we've got one of the two best talents in the draft I will never know.
What a win this is
It has to be the outfit that swung it, right? Jerry couldn't help himself.
I think Jags could take Tunsil here. They have some great young talent in that offence. The QB and RBs need some help using it.
Actually no. You have to take Ramsey really.
Fucking hell though.
I wrote us off having a chance at Tunsil as absolutely zero about a month ago, then wrote us off having Ramsay 2 weeks later.
We've genuinely won no matter which we get left with.
Yeah, it's certainly not a bad idea for them to take Tunsil - Luke Joeckel has been dogshite by all accounts, so he'd certainly be an upgrade, and they do have a decent set of DBs...
They do need a CB, their safeties should be fine but he will help them a lot although so would have Tunsil but it does appear that Ramsey is one of the best DBs to come out of college in quite a while.
And as he's had experience at CB and S he should be absolutely fine in either man or zone, quite a lot of corners are only good at one. Revis looked horseshit for the Bucs in their zone scheme but is a monster in man for example.
You'd have to think they would never have expected Ramsey to drop to them, he looks special. Zeke going at #4 is opening it up. I like the look of that young Jags team. Ravens might as well scream TUNSIL from their green room.
The Jags could be a real team this coming season.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kfjfzd7Hnws
Fucking hell, what a mong.
Buckner to SanFran seems like the sensible pick at 7 - he'd be lining up next to his old college teammate as well, which would be pretty interesting to see.
Yeah, considering what he just fucking posted on his Twitter I'm glad we decided on Stanley instead.
Tunsil has just fucked himself over hard.
They obviously saw the video.
Maybe the Ravens just saw that video.
Mayock dropping hints about it there.
How far does Tunsil fall now? Can't imagine he'd have got past the next two without that fuckup.
He's deleted his Twitter account now :D
Reported on the draft show now. He might well take a big slide here.
Good answer from Stanley, I thought.
I have no fucking idea who Cleveland are going to take at 8. Maybe a tackle or someone like Sheldon Rankins, although I guess Paxton Lynch could be an option as well if they can't trade back further as they seem to want to.
Conklin just moved up some in the draft I think.
49ers take Buckner?
His agent must be absolutely seething.
Chip Kelly in picking Oregon player shocker.
A solid pick, there was no chance Chip Kelly would pass on a former Oregon Duck.
Our first live trade
We have a trade
Titans coming back up is odd, even if it's Tunsil. Probably could've had a shot at him at 15, or if not him then Conklin. Hargreaves seems more likely considering he's been tipped to the Bucs at 9 by almost everyone at some point.
I'd be stunned if the Titans don't take a offensive lineman.
Conklin perhaps.
Titans making trades. What have they seen I wonder. Conklin?
TTH > Mike Mayock.
Only Tunsil or Hargreaves indeed dickhead :harold:
Browns are going to end up with every pick in the 2017 draft at this rate.
I wonder at what point do teams start taking the risk on Tunsil. Myles Jack could go before him at this rate.
Bears have traded up. It's going off :D
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-sh...165834389.html
Tunsil is also being sued by his Step-Dad (for the second time, lol), another possibly reason for why he is sliding.
I'd have thought someone would go in for him in the middle of the round. Giants & Bears could both be options, I guess.
EDIT: Bears going up. Are they grabbing Taylor Decker then? :D We're going to get every OT other than Tunsil taken in consecutive picks.
Bears trading up says to me they're jumping on someone they didn't think would be there. Could be Tunsil.
Hargreaves here for the Bears.
Lads in the back should take a look at Boldin.
Now that's a fucking suit, he's even rocking a waistcoat like a beast.
Oooh, that's a left field pick from the Bears.
A good left field pick though.
Floyd over Hargreaves is an interesting one.
JUST FUCKING TELL US THE PICK! I was enjoying this before all the waffle.
The fans don't know whether to be angry or not :D
Fans want to be pissy but not when the kids are there. Giants have a decision to make here.
I never expected Tunsil to be dropping into the double figures.
Confirmed that the video was why the Ravens didn't take Tunsil.
I bloody hate it when people read their own notes off the screen like Mayock is doing with his player analyses.
I love how they hold his mock draft as almost gospel there too.
We're heading towards risk v reward time on the likes of Myles Jack.
Giants weren't bothered by his cooking skills then.
Teams in the teens are going to be getting some good players here too.
Hargreaves goes now then surely?
If the Saints don't take Tunsil he could go on a massive slide.
Our pick is going to be up for grabs - Jack, Lynch, Lawson, Dodd, Rankins & possibly even Tunsil could be called, among others.
I think the Saints take Rankins after Hargreaves or maybe Lawson goes here.
The phone call :D
Fucking hell.
I hope we take a DE, most likely Lawson or Dodd. There's a bit more depth at DT so we should be able to come back in R2 & get someone to rotate in alongside Nick Fairley.
Hargreaves taking selfies as his name gets called is up there with Elliott's shirt as the most twatty moments from drafted players so far.
In Tunsil news. A picture of him halfway out of the gas mask above is now doing the rounds. He might not get picked at all here.
Browns are the next tackle needy team for Tunsil.
I'm fine with Rankins - he looks like he could be a beast, and he should help us out against the run & pass. Hopefully there's a decent end available when we get to pick next though.
In all honestly I don't think he'll get past the Colts. Either they or the Lions will take the risk.
Well it's a moot point now. It'll be interesting to see where Myles Jack pops up now.
There we go then. Wonder if he'll get interviewed...
I'm with Eisen, there's no way that video is 5 years old.
Could be a great pick for the Dolphins if he sorts his shit out.
On the field, that's a steal. Assuming he doesn't go down the Gordon route off it.
Got to be pissed he's missed out on the Ravens though.
Could be an option for Jack here.
Browns to take Decker?
I thought Jack too, the Raiders have fuck all at MLB and I mean that literally. It seems they only have a chap called Ben Heeney there.
Decent pick for Oakland. Browns to trade down yet again.
First WR off the board. Jets and Falcons both been trying to trade up.
Thought Will Fuller would be the first WR.
Browns have so many holes & so many picks I have no idea whether that was a good decision or not :D
Coleman should be a good player, mind. Shame he has no QB to get him the ball. I thought Doctson might go to Detroit, but otherwise I think I had Coleman first to Houston.
He will when they take a QB again next year,
The guy looks fucking massive.
Mayock gets one back.
Neil Reynolds :D
I'm staying up to see the Jets pick at 20 then I'm off to bed.
Could see Lynch go there and it'll make the Broncos and 49ers get a little tradey.
Karl Joseph looks like he could be my kind of player.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoYpwArlp3M
Colts didn't take long to make their pick.
Colts pick was straight in there. Obviously got their man.
That was nailed on.
Now let's see who fancies Lynch.
Good pick by the look of it. Does Lynch go here or do the Jets get a shot at him?
I wouldn't be surprised if the Ravens start making a few calls to trade up late in the first round if Myles Jack is there.
I'm starting to flag now, but I'm sufficiently intrigued with how the rest of the round is going to play out that I don't want to bail yet :(
Jets have got a QB.
Although I'd fucking love it if they go left field and they pick like a running back who was projected to go undrafted or something.
'Mon Jets, go full retard again please.
Great pick for the Bills there. Doesn't look like anyone wants to touch Jack. Jets should have the Broncos on the phone about now.
See if they fuck it up again.
Lynch to Denver or Cleveland then I guess.
Trade time again - Texans literally moved up one place :D
I was expecting something big there, what a shit trade.
I don't think Denver will let him pass. Suffer through #ButtFumble for a year while phasing Lynch in. Will be worth it long term. That should see the Jets re-sign Fitzpatrick now.
Pick makes sense for Houston - get a blazing fast guy to catch bombs from Osweiler.
Back on Tunsil news. Apparently something else came out on his Instagram about an exchange of money with his Coach. He was asked in an interview if this was true. He said "I'd have to say so..." and was then quickly ushered away.
Looks like an Ole Miss coach paid him.
LOL
He's going to end up getting cut before the Dolphins even sign him to a contract if news keeps breaking at this rate.
He was apparently lead away from all press the second he said that. He needs to get out the building before he makes it worse.
Doctson's an interesting pick, but he should be a good fit alongside Reed, Jackson, Garcon & Crowder. Looks like the WR run might be on.
http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/...8ronehm0ie.jpg
http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/...fi1prss926.jpg
My money is on him sleeping with an animal next.
Well I'm out. That's enough drama for one evening :p
I'm sure I'll wake up to more of it :D
The Bengals really fucked the Steelers up there and I think Pittsburgh just went 'Fuck, who is the next best CB?'.
I honestly can see us getting Myles Jack.
I really hope that the Ravens take a chance on Jack.
We can roll with Mosley and Arthur Brown/Albert McClellan/Zachary Orr next year and let Jack get the surgery.
Niners have gone full retard with the amount they gave up to select a guard who wasn't even the third best left.
That feels like a reach for Lynch but didn't give away much and a QB is required so be it. Elway's done enough good for me to trust his judgement.
Half of these are going to be shit, it's like watching YouTube highlights of soccer signings.
Will be interesting to see whether the Rams or Eagles got the dud at the top though.
I don't think either will be. By the sounds of it Goff is almost ready to go in the NFL but the Rams needed to do something. They're on the longest losing slide in the league and had a different QB every 6 months.
Eagles pick makes sense due to our coaching staff. Coach Pederson was himself a QB who went on to become a QB coach. He obviously saw something he liked in Wentz so he'll take him under his wing and take the year or so it might take to train him up.
Fell asleep at Treadwell, but there were a few interesting picks afterwards - 49ers jumping back in to get Garnett being one of them. Can't have been too nailed on to have gone before their second round pick, especially with Whitehair still being there. Nkemdiche to Arizone could be a great pick if they can sort him out the way they did with Mathieu, and the Bengals taking Jackson seems pretty shrewd, although it does kind of limit their options at WR as most of the better guys will be gone by the time they pick again.
We don't pick again until 16, but if one of Dodd, Ogbah & Spence are still there & we take them I think we'll have done very well with our first two picks.
The Rams getting a QB and the Jags getting Ramsey has made me quite excited for the UK games. From the 6 teams coming over we have Goff, OBJ, AJ Green, Luck, Norman and.... the Jaguars to be excited about, and to be fair the Jags could be massively improved. Can't complain.
I'd forgotten about that.
Goff v the Giants' expensive as fuck new defence at Twickenham. :D
Are either likely to start?
Round 2 starts at 11, right? Will probably try to stay up for it if so, but I'll have to bail on R3 as I'm working tomorrow :(
Might have to look into getting tickets for the London games if there are any left.
Coverage starts at 7pm ET so that makes it 12 our time I believe.
@Dan as far as I know the Rams/Giants was sold out within the day they came out and the Redskins/Bengals was sold out the day after that.
Yea all 3 sold out fast. I can probably never give up my Season Ticket.
There's 6 of us going from work and even though we were on it for when the tickets went live we still only got 3 together, then 2 together and then another 1.
Recorded this last night and ignored my phone and the internet all day until I got home from work at like half 5. Shoved it straight on and just enjoyed watching the coverage.
Trades aside, I had Goff then Wentz, Zeke @ 4 (@Mahow), Buckner at 7, Floyd to Chicago (at 11) and Hargreaves to Tampa (at 9). The rest was a duck hunt that didn't go well.
Pretty happy with the Colts selection but a bit wary of what the Texans have done. They picked up Collins at WR last year who seemingly is a bit of a dropper so that's what they've gone for again. I hope they prove me wrong mind, as all it will do is open up Deandre Hopkins to be even more of a beast.
Bosa at 3 was a total shock though.
I can't even get tickets for a poxy college game here.
Midnight.
Edit: Didn't see the new page.
Doesn't the college game pull the same kind of attendances you'd get here in the BPL, over there?
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...ets-with-media
Tunsil, the 13th overall pick currently mired in controversy after his social media accounts were mysteriously hacked on draft night, was not seated with coach Adam Gase, vice president Mike Tannenbaum or general manager Chris Grier in front of a packed house at team headquarters. Instead, Tannenbaum explained that Tunsil had suffered "an allergic reaction" and was with team medical staff.
Approximately 30 minutes after the session ended, the Dolphins hosted a second availability, this time with Tunsil, who looked no worse for the wear. Tunsil spoke with reporters for five minutes and deflected any questions about the events that led to his arrival in Miami.
I wonder if Miami are regretting that pick.
I hope the clock is shorter tonight :D
7mins was not as much of a drop as I'd have liked.
Expect a lot of trade offers early here.
It is, 7 minutes for round 2 then 5 minutes for round 3-6 (bar Compensatory picks which follow round 7 rules) and then 4 minutes for round 7.
The last day is always the best because everyone doesn't give a shit anymore and everyone is so relaxed.
Could see the Ravens go for one of A'Shawn Robinson, Jarran Reed or Reggie Ragland.
Ozzie does love Alabama guys.
You have to think someone in the Cowboys, Chargers or Ravens will take the chance on Myles Jack now.
Poor lad left sat in that empty green room yesterday :p
Looks like Cleveland might not be quite as shit in a few years time.
Interesting that they called Dodd up as a linebacker rather than a DE.
Smith gets taken over Jack :D
Wish they'd shut whoever's crying loudly up.
Jags swapping spots with the Ravens. Myles Jack or a pass rusher?
Hunter Henry should do nicely learning from Antonio Gates.
That's a horrible pick from the Chargers, they already have a good young TE to take over from Gates in Green.
I can see the Jags taking Jack now.
Hasn't Green gone to Pittsburgh?
@Dan he has indeed.
Jaguars are killing it so far this off season.
The Jaguars defence is fucking beastly on paper.
The AFC South could be immense this season. Jags, Texans & Titans have all made big improvements (on paper at least), and the Colts will have Luck back.
Baltimore are the Browns of R2. They've just traded down again :D
Ravens have just traded back again with Miami.
Ooooh, I like that the Ravens are trading back now.
They'll be happy with one of those 3 Alabama guys or a CB like Mackenzie Alexander or Kendall Fuller.
I fucking love MJD.
I'm not going to last until the Saints pick again, I can tell :moop:
Csonka
There's still some quality guys left here. Kind of shit we gave up our 2nd round pick when we needed help on our defence.
Little surprised it wasn't one of the Alabama duo or a corner but we did need a pass rusher.
Willie Brown is great.
After Willie Brown I can go to bed. :D
Good thing I didn't just yet. DeMarco and Henry? They've got some north/south running power there.
Drafting a QB with 48 TD's and 30 picks in college? :harold:
They should have taken Cook.
Second rounder on a kicker :harold:
And they fucking traded up for him, jesus fucking christ.
They gave up a fourth rounder to move up to select him and they have 2 kickers on the books already. My word, it just gets better.
Devontae Booker still not picked. :nono:
The jags have done well here, assuming miles jack actually manage to play a down in the NFL. If the Cowboys knew he'd be available they could've taken Ramsay and just had jack play rb and lb.
The question with him has always been, do you let him play until his knee blows and then fix it? Or do you try to have it fixed before he plays?
Jags look like they've decided on the former.
Two big picks at the start of round 4. Joe Schobert is an absolute weapon for the Browns, he was absolutely brilliant at Wisconsin in College - one of few players I actually watched, recognised and appreciated when I was watching college football saturdays.
The Conor Cook to the fucking Raiders. :moop:
All the defensive talent in this draft an we have a QB followed by a Guard, with no pick in the 2nd or 4th round. Shame we couldn't have moved Bradford on before the draft started.
Cook to the Raiders is a very interesting one.
The real feel good story of the draft thus far is Shon Coleman.
In 2011 and 2012 he had treatment having been diagnosed with leukaemia, he beat it and two years ago he announced a first round pick. Last night he was drafted by the Browns in the third round.
:D
Prescott to the Cowboys and Cardale Jones to the Bills makes sense as development guys. Really don't understand what happened with the DT from Baylor. He was really highly rated and yet fell into the 4th round.
Just waiting for that German WR to get drafted now. :yn:
Rehad Higgins still on the board, as well as Brandon Allen, Kalen Reed, Daniel Braverman, Moritz Boehringer, Vadal Alexander, Scooby Wright III & Thomas Duarte, plus several others I've seen tipped as 2nd or 3rd round guys.
Plenty of value to be had late on.
Nooooooooo, the Vikings took the massive German :(
Damn it. Still fair play to the kid.
First European player ever to be drafted I believe.
Are people still pretending to know/care about these players?
I don't know about them beyond having heard about a few of them on podcasts, but MoBo getting picked by Minnesota is a nice story.
We have no picks today until R7 :moop: Could do with a corner, so hopefully Kalen Reed is still about & is as good as PFF reckon.
Bellichick will be pissed the Ravens took his navy guy Reynolds.
We've just traded away our R6 pick now. 2 in R7 to take. Hope we take defensive help.
Now Boehringer is gone I'm only really interested to see if anyone takes baby Gronk.
Baby Gronk is still there, but Baby Watt has just been picked up by the Chargers.
I'm not even sure he'll go at all, but that name might see him through.
We've now gone QB, OG, RB, OT and now CB. Last real need we have is at WR. Boehringer would have been great.
Another RB for Denver. I assume that was a genuine case of picking the best player on their board.
I really like what the Ravens have done in the draft.
We've picked in all the areas where we were lacking and seemed to get some real bargains. Especially the running back, Dixon who was seen as 3rd or 4th best this year by many analysts and a corner who was undervalued because he's a little small but from the sound of him he's a brilliant nickel guy which is what we needed.
Oh and the Dolphins seem to have picked the next Ted Ginn.

Jakeen Grant who is about 5 foot 5 seems like he's going to be an utter beast at returns.

Get the ball in his hands and he's gone.
Oh and this is an absolutely perfectly caught perspective picture of him:

He looks rapid, but he also looks like JJ Watt could eat him for breakfast.
He'd whip out a juke move so strong that Watt's ankles would collapse into a cave of nothingness.
2016's Mr Irrelevant is...Kalan Reed :D
Seems kinda strange that the Titans could've had the first pick in the draft & ended up with the last.
We clawed some picks back and it was defence on top of defence for us late on. This draft kind of hinges on how Wentz turns out I guess as there were still some good players to be had in that 2nd round.
I feel the teams that came out of this the best are the ones that traded down the board and picked up picks in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.
The team that came out of the best is the Jaguars. They got the 2 best players in the draft, assuming Jack can get/stay healthy. With Fowler coming back and them also picking up the top Free Agent they could be beastly.
Jags, Titans & Browns all did pretty well with their picks, I think.
We did a decent job with our few - at least we didn't basically just draft CBs like Carolina.
Baby Gronk has been signed by the Bills.
The Chargers, 49ers, Steelers, Seahawks & Raiders have already been busy grabbing all the UDFA's.
Also Hoyer has signed with the Bears for a year.
We've given one undrafted guy (a guard) a $10k signing bonus, probably suggests that we expect him to possibly make the team.
Last day for the first rounders from the 2013 draft to have their fifth year exercised. Those who have yet to have the fifth year activated are:
» OT Eric Fisher, Kansas City Chiefs
» OT Luke Joeckel, Jacksonville Jaguars
» DE Ezekiel Ansah, Detroit Lions
» LB Barkevious Mingo, Cleveland Browns
» OG Jonathan Cooper, Arizona Cardinals (Traded to Patriots)
» WR Tavon Austin, Los Angeles Rams
» CB Dee Milliner, New York Jets
» OG Chance Warmack, Tennessee Titans
» CB D.J. Hayden, Oakland Raiders
» LB Jarvis Jones, Pittsburgh Steelers
» S Eric Reid, San Francisco 49ers
» DT Sharrif Floyd, Minnesota Vikings
» CB Xavier Rhodes, Minnesota Vikings
» DE Datone Jones, Green Bay Packers
» DT Sylvester Williams, Denver Broncos
» WR Cordarrelle Patterson, Minnesota Vikings
» LB Alec Ogletree, Los Angeles Rams
» S Matt Elam, Baltimore Ravens
I'd imagine that Ansah, maybe Mingo, Cooper, Austin, Milliner, Warmack, Hayden, Jones, Reid, possibly Floyd, Rhodes, Williams and possibly Ogletree will get their 5th year.
:D
That's stunning.
Denver Post made a point in their draft round-up of saying that Adam Gotsis, the Aussie DT we drafted, is about 300lbs with 10% body fat. Sadly that means nothing to me as I've no idea what body fat percentage a defensive tackle would normally have.
Top stat, lads.
I'd say that's incredibly low for someone over 21 stone.
It's pretty low for someone who is of an average weight.
How does it compare to other athletic guys at his position though? I mean, obviously he's not going to be absorbing entire o-lines on his own like a Vince Wilfork () but I don't really know what it means in the grand scheme of things.
Not that it'll mean a thing if he's just plain shit but we'll see.
I am generally happy with what I've read about the guys Denver have drafted though. Wonder if Colquitt's on borrowed time though. Love a reliable punter.
Ansah is a weapon. No way he doesn't get tendered.
Analysts are going mental over the Ravens fourth round, some are even going as far to say it's the best they've ever seen.
They're saying that Tavon Young is the best nickel corner in the draft by far and that we've got solid players in Chris Moore, Alex Lewis, Willie Henry and Kenneth Dixon.
Even by the standards of NFL coverage "best fourth round ever" is some premium bullshit.
That's what makes the NFL so good.
I particularly enjoy grading drafts before a single scrimmage of football in training camp has been played.
Mental.
I'm hoping there's a top 10 fourth rounds of all time list.
It doesn't matter, the Ravens class of 2016 will be at the top.
The NFL off-season is so fucking long :( I hate this waiting game with fuck all happening and bullshit floating about.
Did the humongous tight end get drafted in the end?
In other news I got my Nike Elite Murray jersey the other day. They were going for $300 but the US NFLstore had them reduced down to $20. I had to pay $25 shipping and a tiny bit of tax on top but got it for $49 in total. If I bought one at full price it comes to $387 including shipping and tax. So essentially I got a shirt that would cost £266 for £34.
The double stitching on the numbers is pretty damn good. The numbers/letters seem to pop off the shirt a bit too. It's also more of a snug fit around the chest. That flywire or whatever they call it in the collar does nothing other than aesthetically though. The stitched on team badge does look loads better than the printed on version.
I'm not sure I could justify spending full price on one though. The Limited jerseys come in at half the price at $150 and seem to have most of the above features except for single stitched numbers/letters. The Elite one is fantastic, I just don't think I could ever pay full price for one.
Sadly not.
I've just worn that shirt for the first time today and it's warn so I've been sweating in it. It looks like the black dye of the shirt has come through the white numbers.
Kind of disappointing for what's supposed to be a $300 shirt. I'm hoping it comes out in a wash but I doubt it.
Jordan Reed has been given a 5 year, $50m deal.
Important that they locked him up, especially considering the numbers NFL have put up:
Cousins with Reed on the field: 421 pass plays, 7.7 pass yards per attempt, 24-4 TD-to-INT ratio, 111.9 passer rating.
Cousins without Reed on the field: 148 pass plays, 6.2 pass yards per attempt, 5-7 TD-to-INT ratio, 73.3 passer rating.
Ravens have already lost a player for next year.
Jumal Rolle who got some game time after all our injuries at corner last year has torn his Achilles.
Starting early this year, fun times.
I've checked with the bookies and the consensus is that the Seahawks are early favourites for the coming season.
Even with that you can get odds of 7/1 on them. The Steelers look like the team for me and you can get about 12/1 on them. Or if you fancy an outside bet you can have the Colts(22/1), Chiefs(25/1) or the Ravens at 30/1.
I'm personally thinking a Packers v Steelers superbowl but it's way to early to be 100% sure on it.
I'll be putting, at the very least, £10 on us.
If we aren't decimated by injuries we could be pretty damn strong.
I'll be sticking some money on the Ravens, Steelers and probably one other.
Eagles being 50/1 but not even I am that optimistic.
The Jaguars would be a better bet than the Ravens at this point.
I'm going on Bills to make the Conference game. One day that'll pay off.
Probably next year when they can bring back the juice to improve their back field.
I wouldn't say they are a better bet, at the end of the day they've only been involved in 11 playoff games and haven't been there since the 2007 season. They've won 5 and lost 6 compared to the Ravens record of 15 wins, 8 losses and 2 Super Bowl wins.
They do have a nice looking squad though and I will be putting a nibble on them with a view to cashing out.
In the NFL especially, history isn't a big factor.
