These tariffs are driving up prices of new cars. You know what that means for the used car market bois.
EDIT: That drool is for people who own their cars, like me.
Are you planning to sell like? Wanting rid of the Z4 before it rusts to nothing?

I dunno now...we'll see how this pans out but obviously the last time the new car market plummeted prices went through the fucking roof. If I can sell the Z and Astra and get decent money I might buy a big uber comfy derv barge.

I'd take a Miata over both.

Seeing if I can convince the wife.

I would usually avoid any modded car like the plague, but that one looks nice.

I remember when the MX5 was widely denigrated as a hairdresser's car.

Yeah I would, but these guys appear to be very well regarded and their mods are pretty restrained. Just a tad more oomph.

I'd say I'll keep you updated but you'll probably be in an El Salvador prison by then. Especially if you've got any tattoos.

I feel Pepe would be very unlikely to have tattoos

MX5 sounds like a Latin American gang so good job they call them Miatas.

Doctor's strikes not going so well then it seems, Quince.
Now I feel bad.
Scratch that, he's had more Michelin star tasting menus than I've had hot dinners. Was probably at the restaurants when he could have been saving lives. Disgusting.

Going to have a look at this tomorrow. The modded one the insurance was looking like it was going to be silly.

Story fits, 1 Lady Owner from new.
Used car sales, the last bastion of casual sexism.

I don't know why they still bother with that one. Women are far less likely to mind a car.

But they might have a slight Eau de Woman still lingering in them.

I guess the implication is they are less likely to have ragged the shit out of it with their womanly driving.
Magic
29-03-2025, 11:25 AM
Burning the clutch, having heavy handbags hanging off the gear stick whilst driving, kerbed alloys, just generally stupid stuff.
Rather have it ragged.
randomlegend
29-03-2025, 11:29 AM
Yeah I wasn't meaning to imply I agreed with it, just that's what they're angling at.
I don't know why they still bother with that one.
Because car salesmen are a bunch of idiots.
I wish Miatas (and all other cars) still came in good colors. Mariner Blue and BRG.

I wish the S2000 got half the love the MX-5 tends to get.
randomlegend
29-03-2025, 10:06 PM
S2000's are one of the most loved cars there is. They are even appreciating in value. I thought about getting one but I don't want something that old, even if it is a Honda.
Yeah the S2000 is highly appreciated.

Fair. I'm just that used to the MX-5 being some kind of starter roadster so every man with space in their garage seems to give one a shot. Probably because they're cheap compared to an S2000.

Mainly because they are still made. The most recent S2000 is over 15 years old now.
Bought it.

Maybe I'll regret it when I'm doing motorway miles in the rain, but the MX-5 just puts such a smile on your face to drive.
Fond memories of my Suzuki Samurai that would leak like crazy under the rain. What a car that was.

Arranged to sell my old car through motorway. I'm away so my dad was there to hand it over.
Delivery driver turns up to collect it and the fucking thing won't start. Just turning over but not catching. Dad had to mess around giving it some throttle to get it to go.
Literally never done it the entire time I've owned it. Dealer's (understandably) bailed on it. Fuck's sake :D

Not sure how buying the Megane would've prevented this problem with the old car I still would've been selling.

By my caluclaotions, its the 8th time in 16 years ive been pulled over by The Firm but this time, i didnt escape. 100£ fine and window tints removed at the side of the road.
Just ripped them apart with their bare hands?
SincereTheRebel
15-04-2025, 02:15 PM
Yeah, they had some tool that made a clean cut and it just peeled off after that. Left the window with all types of glue residue on it.
How dark was your tint for you to actually get pulled?
They can't even be arsed with the most egregious of number plates these days.

There was some operation setup. They were diverting certain cars to a car park behind some bushes. They were hiding in the shadows. From there, they were handing out fines and everything. Tints, plates, etc. They were pulling a car, every few minutes.

This was last week and they claimed it comes with a £100 fine but I have yet to received naything via the post. I have the Traffic Offence Report but there isnt anything about paying the fine unless the car was seized.
