Us there a mechanism to get it recognised? The slots available change with league rep, don't they? Or can't you use the editor?
Maybe with the editor but I have no idea.

Just installed the game to try it. Created a West Ham save and sold Ryan Fredericks for 300mil to Burnley and Lanzini for the same to some Chinese no marks.

I'm guessing if you did it to a smaller club you'll cripple them financially? Or does the money not actually come out of their account?

I imagine they request a delay or cancel the transfer in that case. EDIT: If DS can swindle Burnley out of £300m, it's knackered. :D

I once used the editor to bankrupt a club to see what happened. I ended all Arsenal players contracts, put -£500,000,000 in the bank and holidayed a few years.
They got relegated but their finances were roughly back to normal. It must refresh finances in line with club stature at the end of the season or something. There's no clubs going into administration or anything like that.

You negotiate a bid then when the other team accepts you right click the price and you can select any value in the drop down menu.
Because it was already accepted it goes through.

Yeah, ever since the CM days, they've tried to ensure clubs don't go to the wall like that. If a club goes bankrupt, it just means a new board will bail them out. If they allowed that, they'd need a regen system for clubs, as well as players. And they'd have to factor in any league structure changes a defunct club would pose. Rather than figure it out, it's easier to give the clubs a parachute in terms of takeovers.

Sure they could but it's a low severity bug that players can just choose not to exploit. They'll be working on the new game now, anyway.

Yeah, I don't think it's a big deal but people seem to be going on about as it breaks the whole game.
And someone said they won't fix it because it'd be too much effort, I was just pointing out it really wouldn't be much effort. I don't know if they still patch the game this late, probably not.

At Gvardiets he was on £0 p/w with a £275 appearance and goal bonus so he's done well.

Hermanos Colmenarez Season 2020/21:
So I came into the job at the exact halfway point and these are my results:
https://i.imgur.com/qOXWII4.png
Some great results but ULA having our number was annoying.
It left the league looking like this:
https://i.imgur.com/CeyS4FC.png
We managed to sneak into third which got us into the play-offs. There are 3 groups in the division with 3 teams in each division going into the playoffs. Two of the teams (third placed in two of the divisions, I don't know why the two other teams were chosen) faced off first to cut the field to 8 with 2 winners gaining promotion. As you can see we gained promotion.
https://i.imgur.com/wPAhmGP.png
The other team to gain promotion were the champions in our league.
Squad:
https://i.imgur.com/6mD8Ms1.png
https://i.imgur.com/oVSSEU4.png
Quilaleo was pretty big for us after he came in as were Giampaoli and Stancato.
In terms of the future I'm not sure what to do. I'd like a crack at the top division and the Libertadores but the club is pissing money. As you can see I've let a lot of players run down their contracts and find employment elsewhere which will help but we need an injection of cash.
Edit: I think I know why the other two teams were picked.
https://i.imgur.com/RbNtSyT.png
This group only has 6 teams so you'd assume the third placed team always has to play an extra play-off game as they play 4 games less in the season.
https://i.imgur.com/Qg4yXV0.png
In this group the third placed team had 1 less point than me.
Also, in the 6 man league I saw this:
https://i.imgur.com/eH6nPC5.png
Looking in the rules there are no deciders listed should teams have an equal amount of points. Yaracuy deserved second but that system, if real, can really fuck a team over.

2026 and having had another slog in a relegation fighting championship campaign with Oldham I was offered a job by Leicester in the Prem with £40m to spend. I have been offered a lot of jobs in the save but that is definitely the best offer so far so I have split the save as I have definitely been feeling like I may have taken Oldham as far as I can. I still want to see if I could keep Oldham up and push on but honestly feel like it's nearly Christmas and despite us winning a few games and drawing a lot more we're still 23rd in the table. I have been changing up tactics to not much avail, though I do want to see what my right wing wonder kid does for Oldham this season so might go full Smiff and instant result to the end of the season :D

So halfway through season 4 with Slough Town, and our first in the National League, and we're actually performing pretty well. We sit in 8th spot as we go into the Boxing Day games, and considering the board expected a brave fight against relegation, the season has been a pretty big success so far. We started off with some inconsistent form, with 4 wins in our first 6 games, including wins over both Stockport County and Sutton United. This was followed by just 1 win in the next 8 games, with some really poor results in there - getting pumped 5-1 at home by Harrogate Town the low point.
We've since recovered well, with an 11 game unbeaten streak, albeit with a lot of draws, and I'm now aiming for a solid mid-table finish - anything more than that is a bonus.
https://i.ibb.co/dg6TWZt/21-22-halfway.png
A lot of the old guard has been replaced - star performers from last season are largely sitting on the bench or playing for the Under 23s as the step up in quality has been quite sizeable. I've made 12 signings in all so far, but I'm still on the lookout for a top quality striker as that is definitely holding us back. Our top scorers are in midfield or on the wing. One of my best signings has to be Dean Wilkinson, snapped up on a free from Arsenal. He lacks a lot, but good physicals, teamwork and work rate is so important at this level, and once we (hopefully) go pro, he will develop a fair bit I'm sure.
https://i.ibb.co/jr1R4DV/Wilko.png
For comparison, here is Ryan Manning, first team regular at Stockport. I've never seen someone valued so highly in the National League, and it baffles me how I managed to beat Stockport on the opening day when I look at their squad and wage bill. Interestingly, bottom of the table Dagenham and Redbridge are spending the most on wages, at over £2m per annum, whereas I'm spending £293k pa, the second lowest of the division.

Here is the league table halfway through season 8 at Ferencvaros:
https://i.imgur.com/spzKbFr.jpg
What I find frustrating is that our seemingly dominant GD of +21 has been produced with a record of F27 A6. In this league, no matter how superior you are, no matter how much you dominate and how many shots you have, you simply do not and will not ever score a significant number of goals. The GPG in the whole league is 2.35 and ours with a dominant unbeaten lead (literally no chance Diosgyor are coming after us) is only 2.06. I don't know if it's hard programmed into the league, or a result of the way that all 11 other teams play (all 11 camped behind the ball for 90), or what it is.
I don't think we've been in behind a defence for about 4 years, except in Europe when the teams come out and play. The league is just horrible tedium passing it about in front and hoping for a long ranger to pop in.
Possession football has brought me unparalleled success for 7+ seasons and twice taken us to Champions League last 16, but I'm starting to think I have to rip it up and play direct with wingers again to actually improve any further.

Table:
https://i.imgur.com/PrqVKbv.png
Think I could have nabbed second (and thus a Copa Libertadores group stage place) but I was using a lot of rotation in the last couple of months when we sealed top 8.
Play-offs:
https://i.imgur.com/UI4FBOM.png
Simple in the quarters. We have drawn both games in the regular season to Monagas but our team was stronger and we dispatched them fairly easily.
https://i.imgur.com/1dDxNjt.png
Felt confident going into this as had beaten Lara 4-3 and 4-0 and they took out Tachira who we struggled massively against in the regular season. First leg ended a little hairy as our right midfielder was sent off after 72 minutes and our left back went off injured with a few minutes remaining after we had made 3 subs. We were unlucky in the second leg and should have won but it didn't matter.
Final first leg:
https://i.imgur.com/cvrLaN0.png
We lost both games against Merida in the regular season but really should have won them both (first game a few posts above) but we came out on top in a fairly routine win.
Second leg:
https://i.imgur.com/VK1LjSP.png
I think their penalty miss was massive and had they scored that it would have been very close but we held out and were declared the Champions of Venezuela.
Carlos Vera scored 4 over both legs against Lara and 2 against Merida which was massive. He was a loan signing (there were a lot in the second transfer window) who was there to provide backup. He had barely started a game for us until we were assured a top 8 place but got starts and impressed me when I was rotating to keep everyone fresh.
Squad:
https://i.imgur.com/gOYrz27.png
https://i.imgur.com/Y6O4oms.png
A couple of others also had some game time but we sold a couple and a couple of the loan signings got bad injuries so went back to their parent clubs.
Finances:
We were massively in the shit and at our worst we were around £200k in the negative. The club injected funds twice though and we're finally in the positive thanks to sponsorship money coming in, £90k for winning the league and we sold 3 players for a total of £105k and only one of those players was getting regular games for us.
Plan is to stay here and win the Libertadores then move to another club in a different continent as I'd love to finally do the pentagon.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/9/93/Oxford_City_F.C._logo.png/160px-Oxford_City_F.C._logo.png
Summary
Aiming for a fifth successive Premier League title, and what we hope will be our 8th overall, we've done our chances no harm whatsoever by storming into the lead once again. Getting smashed at Craven Cottage against Fulham was odd one, mind. 4-1.
https://i.imgur.com/ORjKAjF.png
In the cup competitions we've got a chance to clean up all before us.
We sailed through our Champions League group stage winning five and drawing against second place Sevilla. Red Bull Salzburg took third and Benfica dead last in an attack minded group. Schalke await us in the knockout round. Usual suspects with the exception of Hoffenheim. We've won it six times but a win this season would be a 5th successive European title.
We've got Tottenham in the EFL Cup semi final, the winners facing either Chelsea or Newcastle whilst Southampton will fight for the chance of progress to the FA Cup fourth round in the next week or so.
Charity Shield and Super Cup both claimed.

Hopefully whilst still winning as we bid to become the most successful side period.

Turns out that the Libertadores places were indeed decided by the play-offs and not the regular league positions so I went straight into the group stage.
Shit group for us but oh well.
Also, despite getting a handy £2.3m the board refused to nudge the transfer revenue % up and will not give me the option to ask for a larger transfer/wage budget so we've got fuck all there to really make some moves.

Do you play every game Mahow, or using some instant result skin like Smiffy?
Into March now with Slough and I can honestly say this 4th season is one of the toughest I've had on FM for a while, and yet one of the most enjoyable. We're one of only 4 semi-professional teams in the National League and the sheer glut of games that we've had is causing a serious strain on the fitness and ability of teams I can put out. It's not been helped by a cup run that sees me in a two-legged FA Trophy semi-final, and it's taken 3 replays (and 2 batches of extra-time) to get this far. We've got 22 games scheduled for the last 12 weeks of the season.
And yet, we still pull out results when you expect them the least. Like a 2-1 away win at runaway leaders York, who hadn't lost in 21 games, with the winner coming in the 92nd minute. Or conceding a 90th minute goal away at Crewe in the quarter-finals of the FA Trophy, only to score an equaliser in stoppage time and force a replay 4 days later. Hoping for a solid mid-table finish to set up for a playoff push next season.

As I said earlier I can only use 4 Venezuelans in the league and right now I have Bubacarr Kebbeh, Dermival Leira, Francisco Valdivia and an Argentinean striker I have on loan.
The plan when this season ends (I'm out of the Libertadores and we still have 7 league games before the play-offs) is to gut the squad a bit (I'd like to sell Maldonado, Ruiz, Chavez, Cabrera and Carvajal) and go all out to try and win the Libertadores.

My board are really pissing me off now. We have £5m in the bank and are doing well in the Libertadores right now but they're still acting like we don't have a pot to piss in.
They accepted a £675k bid for:

Now in his 10th season as the clubs number one, Ollie Armstrong has won it all at club level, (as have many of the following players) but just 42 caps for England in that time is a little underwhelming. He's not 'that' good in terms of average rating as he's not had a season above 6.94 however he's one of our own and that counts for something for some reason.
https://i.imgur.com/J4oyvKg.png
My own flesh and blood, a club icon like daddy'o, and a world renowned name. Rood. 11 seasons as an automatic starter, 357 appears, 305 goals. Lovely. Quite possibly one of the best in the world.
https://i.imgur.com/zxbHlXd.png
In years to come and people talk of the games greats, Proctor's name will come up in conversation as one of England's most underrated centrebacks. What he lacks in leadership he makes up for in determination. He's a club legend, an international regular and has now made 354 appearances at the back. Not too much of a goalscorer from set pieces so to score ten this season was an odd one but another of our own and one of our old and gold generation.
https://i.imgur.com/HkJJgjP.png
Quite possibly the man who made it all possible. Yan Canti, real name Yan de Oliveira Cavalcanti ended the campaign with 31 goals in 54 appearances at the grand age of 34. 642 career appearances, 423 goals, a Brazilian legend, an Oxford legend and after 16 seasons at the club, he's still going strong. I hope he doesn't retire any time soon.
https://i.imgur.com/xUMZ25Y.png
Aliu has been at the club since we poached him from Southampton in 2028 and has gone on to make 411 appearances scoring 53 goals. He's another legend but I think he reached his glass sealing three or four years ago.

The Rest of the Season
We won both the Super Cup and the Community/Charity Shield early doors whilst defeating Newcastle United on penalties in the EFL Cup. We had knocked out Liverpool (3-1), Man United (1-1p) and Tottenham (3-1agg) en route but only the third time we've won the competition. A long way behind Manchester City's 13.
Manchester City as it happens were our opponents in the FA Cup final as we successfully retained it to complete a hattrick of wins taking our total tally to 6. Still nine off Arsenal's total of 15 though.
And sticking with Arsenal, they would be our Champions League quarter final opponents after we knocked our Schalke in the 1st knockout round. A 2-1 home win gave us the advantage but Kelvin Ikenna's solo effort in the return fixture gave The Gunners the 1-0 win and the away goals rule went in their favour. Ikenna....the very same Ikenna I sold to them four years ago. He ended our four year reign asEuropean Champions. Thankfully Liverpool who finished poorly in the league ensured Arsenal wouldn't claim our crown, instead it would head back to Merseyside for a 10th time.

Canti with 500 career goals in his sights. Tremendous.
I feel that doesn't do him justice. So without further ado...
The Career of Yan Canti.
Signed as a 19 year old from FC Porto in the 2028 January transfer market. He'd not spent too long in Portugal but it was clear that he had an abundance of talent and so we splashed out a club record at the time of £54M.
Prior to this he'd claimed FIFA U20 World Cup with Brazil and the French Youth Invitational. Major honours init. Just months before joining us Canti took home both the European Golden Boy award and the FIFA Best U21 Men's Player award as well as gaining his first cap for Brazil in a 2-0 win over Senegal. Seven strikes in the few games he managed once joining was a decent return, little did I know how many more were to follow but they helped us finish 10th and cement our top flight status.

https://i.imgur.com/0Pma4US.png
2028/29
His first full season at the club and one that yielded 21 league goals as he was an ever present which put him in 3rd place in the goal scoring charts. Also claimed the Copa America with Brazil but after 16 caps, he'd still failed to register for the national side however they did help us finish 6th and ensured we qualified for the Europa League.

2029/2030
Finally got off the mark for Brazil when scoring his first goal against Peru but it was his exploits at club level that had the football world taking note. 31 league goals in another ever present campaign was a phenomenal as was his complete mockery of the Europa League. Named Premier League Young Player of the Month on four occasions, voted the European Golden Boy for a second time, broke the Oxford City all time record for most league goals with a total of 56 at this point. Finally, voted Players Young Player of the Year, Players Player of the Year, Footballer of the Year, claimed the top goalscorer award as well as the Europa League scoring the second goal in our 3-0 win over Tottenham.

2030/2031
The season saw him break the club record for most goals in a season with 41 and he was also named the clubs new captain. Scored the winning goal in the Super Cup final against Arsenal too. Monthly accolades continued to stack up whilst he claimed the FIFA Best U21 Men's Player again and was named in the 2030 FIFPro TotY. How long before Brazil start playing him upfront is anyone's guess.

The first time in many a season that Yan Canti failed to be the clubs top scorer as his new strike partner Adel took the honours but he did continue to win plenty as we claimed the treble of Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League final, Yan Canti scoring our first, now club legend Matthew Proctor levelling in the 90th minute as we defeated Manchester City on pens. He also broke the record for fastest Premier League goal. 13 seconds.

2036/2037
Now we were getting serious. Challenging as the games elite striker, Yan Canti finished runner up in both the FIFA Best Man's Player award and the Ballon d'Or but he's getting there. Top goalscorer once again in the Premier League as we claimed the division and the Champions League crown once more. Yan Canti scoring in the final.
https://i.imgur.com/OgN5sWL.png
https://i.imgur.com/dX8unrU.png
2037/2038
Yan Canti started the season off by claiming both the Charity Shield and the Super Cup, the finally got his hands on the FIFA Ballon d'Or after missing out last season, won the Golden Boot as Europe's top goalscorer, the Premier League's top goalscorer and was voted Forward of the Season by the Champions League. Sadly we missed out on the title as Manchester City dominated from start to finish.

2038/3039
It was the talented Diguinho who ended the season as the clubs top goalscorer on this occasion. I do miss the trio of him, Yan Canti and Adel but Adel moved to Barcelona eventually. I couldn't turn down the sums offered when we'd signed him for nothing. It was the first time Yan Canti would find himself seriously injured too as he broke down in February due to wear and tear and had to go to see a specialist.
He still had a great season though. He broke the Brazilian record of most goals in a match with six against Turkey in the World Cup, thus breaking the competitions record too. He broke the most goals record with ten as Brazil finished 3rd. Domestically however his injury meant he only finished in 3rd place in the goalscoring charts but did win the Premier League and the Champions League too.

https://i.imgur.com/dGHUazJ.png
2039/2040
Yan Canti came back from his injury stronger than ever as he claimed the Charity Shield and Super Cup early doors. Voted FIFA Best Men's Player, named FIFPro Player of the Year and named in the FIFPro TotY. Clinched the Ballon d'Or for a second time, top scored in the league as we took the title and retained the Champions League.

https://i.imgur.com/zmjUgwH.png
2041/2042
Every striker in the world was completely blown away by Diguinho's season but Yan Canti still played his part as we won the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup whilst putting the memory of four years earlier to bed by claiming the FIFA Club World Cup at the second attempt. Finished runner up to Diguinho as the leagues top goalscorer, his fellow Brazilian beating Alan Shearer and Andy Cole's totals from the 90's.

2042/2043
Super Cup and Charity Shield wins, another Premier League title and both domestic cups. No European title for once though as Arsenal finally ended our four year run as Champions of Europe. Age is catching up but his quality is still there but he's now the second choice striker instead of the first name. Diguinho has every potential to beat Yan Canti's career totals.

Colossal effort Smiff.
I am back with Oldham. Relegated as predicted. Back in League One with a talented team I thought I would be ok playing my preferred attacking, possession, attractive game. Despite a couple of nice spells including one where we smashed 5 into Blackpool without reply before half time, our form was all over the place and it was clear an immediate return to the Championship was under threat if I didn't bite the bullet and change things up.
Long story short I have gone to a 4-1-4-1 Big Sam wet dream all about the set pieces at the expense of my fancy dan AMCs and it is getting results. Season has a long way to go but interesting to see how this plays out.

Saison 2029-30
It's a been a while. I promised an interesting summer in my last update and so it proved as we added quite a bit of meat to the bone. Arriving to bolster our defensive ranks were former academy product Frederic Guilbert and the French James Milner, Anthony Caci. Given his previous ties with the club Guilbert was awarded the captaincy. Moving on to the midfield and Ilaix Moriba was picked up on a bosman after his Barcelona career had come to a stand still. 25 and with little playing time he could improve significantly. Joining the Spaniard was fellow countryman Adama Traore for a measly £2m from Fiorentina. Granted he is 32 years of age, but his pace remains electrifying at 19. Not too dissimilar from the current time his position will oscillate from right wing back to second striker. Another academy graduate returning to the club this time in the form of Thomas Lemar. Here's hoping he can bring fresh ideas to the left wing back role. Last but not least Moussa Dembele came north from Lyon for £1m. It's an absolute steal for a striker who is very much still at the top of his game. All those additions left our first eleven looking like so:
GK - Brice Samba
CB - Badiashile
CB - Tanguy Kouassi
CB - Zidane (Newgen)
RWB - Guilbert
LWB - Lemar
DM - Ntcham
DM - Tousart
CM - Reine-Adelaide
AMC - Adama Traore
ST - Dembele
Ligue 1
By far and away the most consistent league performance to date from either Caen or Toulouse. No higher than third and no lower than sixth, our performances led us to another fourth place finish. As ever we had the most formidable defence in the league, but it was our goalscoring exploits that kept us in the conversation. The Lemar-Dembele connection proved a real hit as they contributed to 44 of the teams goals. Unfortunately for Dembele his Lyon exit proved costly as they became Ligue 1 champions for the first time since 2008. Nice and Toulouse weren't far behind, PSG (the demise is real), Lille & Marseille made up the European places. In keeping with domestic matters we once again blew a great opportunity of silverware painfully exiting the Coupe de France quarter final on penalties. Nice would go on to lift the trophy adding to an impressive season under the tutelage of one Paulo Sousa.
L'Europe
Dining at the top table of European football is still a new experience for Caen and we were helped tremendously with a group consisting of Milan, Salzburg & Standard Liege. A second placed finish was brutally punished in the last sixteen as we drew a very talented Manchester City side. A dire 0-0 in Normandy provided a glimmer of hope, but this was quickly dashed by a first half hat-trick from one Phil Foden at the Etihad. Karanka's Valencia would go on to win the competition.
Steady progress it would seem and for once my job isn't under threat. With fifteen players in the first team squad over the age of thirty, I'll have to look to youth in the coming seasons taking some risks along the way.

That first XI looks quality.
Managed to get back into the Championship by the skin of my teeth on the final day, avoiding the playoffs. The question now is do I stick with my new approach or adjust it, and I need to work out what I am prioritising this summer to give me the best chance of staying up. I think it's quite telling that the board, having been very lenient with me the whole save since I always overachieve have set the immediate objective this time round (3rd time in the Championship) of 'Mid-Table finish - Required' as opposed to 'fight bravely against relegation' etc. The kicker is last time I went up (possibly because it was as champions) we got a hefty £4m to spend but this time it's £500k. I am being offered £10m for my right wing wonderkid but his release is £12m and I would rather give him a new contract than lose him, he is that good.
I think my best bet is to identify the best loan targets I can secure and then shop the bargains after, primarily focusing on shoring up the defence to try and prevent 38 hidings which made me lose interest last time round.

Due to the nature of the Peruvian league I thought I'd do a mid-season update, so...
Allianza Lima 2024/25 Mid-Season update:
Transfers out:

https://i.imgur.com/HZiJpdG.png
The squad was absolutely packed when I got here and the quality was a little low. We're also only allowed 5 non-Peruvians and after a quick search on the transfer market I saw that they were nowhere near the quality I could get.

So I decided to go back to Hermanos (who lost every group game in the Libertadores and are sitting 5th in the league, well done board) and poach Medina and Gabriel Garcia. I had been grooming Medina to be our next big CM just after they sold Romero. He was only playing in the Libertadores (as we could only register 4 for the league) but he was flourishing in the Libertadores. Garcia is a natural RB who I spend time training into a LB too to provide depth at Hermanos and his physical traits are fantastic.
Aivar came in and has been World Class, he's lethal. CM was a problem for us after the sales which is why Ramos (who wont be here for too long) and Barranzuela came in and the other 2 cheap loans to help at CB.
I also have the following two already signed waiting:
https://i.imgur.com/Ow1LhMT.png
I wanted to sign him in the first window but he wasn't too interested and wanted £9k a week in wages. I went back in for him when his interest rose. £775k with £6k (IIRC) in wages per week. Absolute steal as he was a monster for me last year and some big clubs were after him. He was also born in Peru too so wont count as a foreigner. I'll have to play either him or Aivar up front as I need them both in my team.
https://i.imgur.com/xmWu56e.png
Found this guy and he wont sign for a while but I couldn't say no for £10k especially as my scouts absolutely adore him.

Was nervous after we drew with Millionarios and then lost to Corinthians but we came back strong and we qualified in second on 13 points with Corinthians also on 13 but with a +4 better GD.
We face Bahia next who finished top of their group over Atletico Mineiro, Liga de Quito and Atletico Tucuman on 12 points.

That booking list :D
Stuck with the shithouse 4-1-4-1 for promotion, done some alright business including managing to sign some of last season's loanees permanently. Every position is at least 3 stars of above, I know the star system is subjective but still. Highlight of the window was someone coming in for my moany right wing wonderkid and activating his clause, only for him not to agree terms meaning he is stuck with me until at least January.
I actually found a superior replacement if he does go, but I suspect he will have the last laugh by being so awkward I never get to cash in on him. Hopefully he bags double figures before the next window so I can sell him for a fortune, already safe from relegation.
Every position is at least 3 stars of above, I know the star system is subjective but still.

Star system needs to be worse imo. At least the potential stars. Only the 19-20 JPA scouts should ever come close to being consistent at predicting a player's potential, and even then they shouldn't be getting it right more than 50% of the time. Otherwise once you buy up all the top 16 year olds you know you'll be set once they come of age
Jimmy Floyd
13-07-2020, 05:49 PM
The star system is only relative to your existing squad isn't it? I like its mix of guesswork and general wrongness.
Lofty
13-07-2020, 07:12 PM
Yeah a five star player in a Vanarama National team could be a 2 star player in a League 1 team, and if you have a 4 star left back and sign a better one, the original player's star rating will decline.

Is there any point in the actual numbers then or just better to pick the team by stars?
Lofty
13-07-2020, 07:31 PM
The attributes are the most important figure and I would always compare players based on this when making decisions, however stars are good for an overall glance, for me anyway.
Shindig
13-07-2020, 07:36 PM
I go with attributes and eyeball them against the current crop. I'll look at their form to see how consistent they are as well. Scout reports are kind of the last piece of the equation but I'm usually scouting them just to take away the fog of war.

13-07-2020, 07:53 PM
Yeah personality and any mental traits scouting reveals are always worth considering.
I've just had a look through the personalities of my squad. Thomas Lemar being a model professional has thrown me.
Lofty
14-07-2020, 09:29 AM
That is surprising. The best personality type you can get, supposedly.
So I stuck with the shithouse tactics upon promotion to the Championship, and I think the fact I was able to keep a lot of players together I had signed during their developmental stages bore fruit as now my starting XI has green lines all over the shop. It's been quite the season, given my objective was to avoid a relegation dog fight. It's currently January 28th and I'm 6 points clear at the top of the Championship :D I got some decent loanees in but to be honest the best players are all mine. Got Brighton in an FA Cup 4th round replay and just lost the Carabao Cup Semi Final second leg away at Old Trafford to an Mbappe VAR given penalty.
It's fair to say on the pitch things arw going swimmingly, the problem is off the pitch my best players have known for some time they are worth more, resulting in me being unable to agree new contracts with them and raise their release clauses. No-one will go for my right wing wonderkid because his release is too high but he will go for nothing in the summer if I don't sell now, so I could potentially lose my first choice right winger, left winger and one of my centre mids with 72 hours left in the window and the board not willing to let me offer wages befitting top Championship players. Going to be interesting!

I've never delved into personalities too much apart from staff members, but the first player I looked at joined me from Roma and his personality type is 'unambitious' so story checks out. Couple of perfectionists in the squad who are actually my proper world class stars too

It's entirely Barbero's fault. Took all last season moaning about his value, signed the new deal and then fucking stank the place up. Saviola hasn't signed a new deal. This looks like his last dance as well. It also appears the game is killing itself.

Do you only have a small squad? I try and have a big enough squad, mainly comprised of youngsters too good to loan out playing back up and play a A team 3 matches then a B team the next 2, ensuring no-one gets the hump about their lack of minutes.
I was a bit concerned I had broken the game with my big sam impersonation last season having swept all before me. That fear was swiftly allayed in the premier league season. Five matches in I've won one, drawn one, lost 3. Including a 7-0 thrashing by Chelsea. My tactic of bringing in an ancient Thiago Silva and 32 year old Harry Winks seems to have been a bad idea.

Sir Andy Mahowry

It's incredibly small.
Problem is that we had some fairly hefty wages being spent on crap, unusable players and I did not realise that their contracts became guaranteed after the first registration date. I'm just slightly over the cap right now (I waived someone and it said that the board had paid out so they didn't count against the cap, yet their number counts against the cap...) so I can't make any moves.
My problem was just hitting continue in my sleep deprived state instead of leaving it and coming back after I had slept so I could understand the rules.
I have a DP slot remaining (as I sold a player taking it up) and their cap number will be the minimum rather than 0, right?
Can't even buy some cap room right now as everyone's is greyed out despite having a bit of money in the "GAM".

So, season 4 with Slough Town is in the books and our first foray into the National League was entertaining to say the least. Our 46 league games saw 155 goals scored, with our attack looking potent and defence looking leaky in equal measure. Overall though, a 13th place finish with no threat of relegation whatsoever was a massive success, especially considering our minimal wage budget and semi-professional status.
https://i.ibb.co/tKxX6Xn/21-22.png
Our cup runs saw us total 57 games in the season, and in particular, February, March and April were very congested. We really spread the goals around the team too, with no player scoring over 11. Paul Ryan came in on loan from Notts County for the final few months as we were really lacking a quality striker and he has already agreed to stay on loan for the whole of season 5 too.
https://i.ibb.co/ZY2Jhjp/Fixtures-1.png
https://i.ibb.co/3BjmzYG/Fixtures-2.png
https://i.ibb.co/gtYgXqF/Fixtures-3.png
Other than a disappointing end to the season, I'm happy with how we managed. There were some great results throughout the season, including the opening day win over Stockport, and the away win at York to end their ridiculous unbeaten streak. But we leaked goals throughout and the defence was definitely the first priority when it came to upgraded for the next season.
Toni Stahl, the goalkeeper, was solid despite conceding so many. He managed an average rating a smidge under 7 and he's keeping the number 1 jersey. However, I've already made 3 defensive signings, including breaking the bank to bring in an 18 year old centre-back from Spurs, who is now our highest earner on a whopping £750pw.
Notable mentions go to Dennis Ball, who scored a number of great free-kicks and impressed so much I've already signed him up for 2 more seasons, Max Makaka, who coped with the step up to Tier 5 very well and kept his first-team position as the holding central midfielder, and Carl Winchester, capped once for Northern Ireland and rated awfully by my coaches and scouts, yet ended up with the highest average rating for the season as our playmaker.
I'm aiming for a top half finish this time around, as our reputation is still the lowest in the league and it is a real struggle to sign players befitting the division. Slow and steady progress is the plan.

Toronto FC & Ireland 2025/26 Season Update:

Signed on a free and was one of my best attacking options. He was also named USA's second best player this season behind Pulisic.
https://i.imgur.com/nKvhyIK.png
I paid £5.5m for him which was maybe a little too much but River Plate weren't letting him go for less than his release clause.
At this stage I wanted to make more moves as the squad was still really barren but we were fucked for cap. However, around August £24k from a waived player (he was waived before I got here) no longer counted against the cap and I was able to spend.
https://i.imgur.com/ER3Luwr.png
We also had a DP slot available (I had sold Iddrisu Babu to Huddersfield) and we needed defenders so in came a man I used in my first season at Alianza Lima. His fee at £6m was a little hefty but he's exactly what I needed.
https://i.imgur.com/j7CH9Ss.png
Our left back situation wasn't great and I found this chap for a measly £425 and cap friendly wages. Helped that he was better than our current option and performed very well.

We did well but most of our wobbles during the season were because we were either fucked with injuries or because of internationals. The month of June (Sounders beating us 3-1 to the 1-1 draw with DC) was horrible.
We also won the Supporters Shield as we had the best record over both conferences.
Playoffs:

Kiko picked up a yellow in the 1st minute and then a second yellow in the 17th and we struggled so much from there. We should have won but were just missing the spark that he provided.

Saison 2030-31
Prior to the summer madness Anthony Martial arrived in the winter window for a fee of £600k from Sevilla. Despite being 34 he still has great ability with the ball at his feet and his finishing isn't lacking as he bagged four goals from the bench. He'll retire at the end of the season, but will still be called upon to do bits in the absence of Dembele. Moving to the summer and as ever I delved into the bosman market with varying degrees of success. Hitting the ground running (literally) was Allan Saint-Maximin who has refreshed our attack to no end with 9 goals to his name. His pace and directness in tandem with Adama Traore is frightening and as a result we have scored some ruthless counter attacking goals. His performances have earned him a one year contract extension. On the other end of the scale is Nicolas Pepe who arrived from Manchester United. The Ivorian has absolutely bombed and will be released come the end of the season. With the average age of the squad teetering around 30 I decided to splash £50m on three 16 years olds, two from Reims & another from Monaco. They'll go straight into a reserve team bustling with African talents.
Absent from previous updates was the news of our new stadium. We've gone from a 20,000 capacity to 30,000 which has done wonders for our revenue. Sadly it was not named in my honour and remains the Stade Michel d'Ornano. :(
Ligue 1
Our ability to move the ball up the field with extreme pace has given us a different edge this season. A surprising 2-0 defeat in Bordeaux on matchday three was followed by thirteen games without defeat. Within that run we enjoyed victories over Monaco, PSG & current holders Lyon. After 19 games we've accumulated a monstrous 43 points, unfortunately for us both PSG & Lille are keeping pace. I can't imagine for one second we'll keep up this level of performance, but it's lovely to watch.
L'Europe
Barcelona, Juventus & Fenerbahce. Six points from the Turks, one from Barca and three from the Italians wasn't enough as we crashed out with ten points. Our European adventure continues as we face Milan in the Europa league knockout stage. With Chelsea & Inter the only real big names left in the draw, this presents a great opportunity for this decrepit dressing room to grab some silverware.

I just counted up everyone's cap numbers and it adds up to £10k less than what is showing in my finances page. It also says I have £17k p/w left in available cap but I just tried to offer a chap a contract and whatever amount I selected it said it would put us over the cap.
Also, I have millions in General Allocation Money but I can't buy any more contracts down which is really annoying. The game is also not telling me why I can't buy someone's contract down.

Our 7th straight title finally secure (my playing time has been severely impacted by the return of the cricket season). This was a lot harder and a lot shitter than the final appearance of the table may suggest, though it is I think the first time I can ever remember having an unbeaten league season on FM. After 22 games, we were two points behind Diosgyor, but as many of our title rivals have done over the winning span, they not only shat the bed but shat an entire Dreams warehouse as soon as they could sniff a run at us.
The most entertaining game was the last one, in which we went to Honved in a dead game other than the fact we wanted to complete the unbeaten season. We chose this time to give our worst performance of the season, having I think 4 shots all game, and Honved got a penalty in the 77th minute but my buddy Mike Cooper saved it. 0-0 a fitting way to clinch it in a league that is full of them.
Unfortunately my hero Mazzonetto had a diabolical season this time, which led me to change the formation halfway through to play 4-2-3-1 with Serbian hotshot Ramic on his own up top. This led to him breaking the league scoring record with 24 goals and has gone past 100 for the club. The team now has a very English spine to it - goalkeeper Cooper, centre half Ajibola Alese who came from Middlesbrough, schemer Taylor Richards formerly of Man City (via 100 loan clubs) and club legend Josh Harrop still doing it at 31.
Europe was less of a success this year, and the Hungarian coefficient has really collapsed as the others have been starved of easy opponents as they have to enter in later rounds - we are really victims of our success. In the CL we drew back-to-back champions Man Utd, Napoli, and Viktoria Plzen. The latter were shite but the former two were just too good for us, especially United who are at the forefront of English football completely dominating Europe. We came third on 7 points and went through to face Valencia in the Europa League, which was about the hardest draw we could have had and they shat on us.
Aims for next year, win an eighth and do something in Europe, but I'm really not sure how. I need to work out how to play better away from home in Europe.

I saw a pride flag in the stand in my last match away at Bristol City. Since the relegation I thought I had a really good summer, got in some really good players but struggle to offload surplus ones and I have way too many strikers and midfielders on the books. This has been compounded by my expected rebound to the Premier League being derailed and having been on my fourth tactical switch of the season before Christmas before finding form. Having an odd situation where one of my new players looks good but doesn't appear to be miles better than any of my other strikers, yet LOSC just came in with a £14m bid for him (I accepted since I signed him on a free and he rejected their offer :D).
Promotion is going to be a struggle this season I think, could be another rebuild job but think I need to start upgrading my defence and goalkeeper rather than assuming they're good enough when results suggest otherwise.
What teams are knocking about in the Championship?
Top tier league effort, Jim. Don't think I've ever managed an invincible season.

What teams are knocking about in the Championship?
Top tier league effort, Jim. Don't think I've ever managed an invincible season.
To be honest it is the usual suspects.
This season just finished, 2030, Villa champs, Burnley 2nd, Reading, Middlesbrough, Derby, Palace in the play offs. Plymouth, Hull and QPR relegated. So a couple of current PL teams there but not anyone unexpected.
Recovered my shite start to finish 10th, 5 points shy of the play offs. Not ideal but thankfully the board only required a mid table finish. They've given me a £50m transfer kitty to play with, the biggest I ever had. Need to avoid spunking it on everyone with nice stats and potential like I did in my PL season instead of focusing on upgrading key positions.
Great achievement Jim, whenever I have thought it possible my teams usually shit the bed in a routine match and spoil it.
Those Parrott stats are filth, Mahow.

Toronto FC & Ireland 2026/27 Season Update:
Transfers out:
https://i.imgur.com/wCiUhbv.png
Big one there is Almiron who left for £10m and 50% next sale. Also got rid of Gallardo who was my backup MRL for a decent chunk.
Transfers In:
https://i.imgur.com/Ivxzc3s.png
No screenshot of Cortes, Lee, Tolic or Honkanen as they're all crap backups, but here are the rest:
https://i.imgur.com/9mbDr1U.png
The reason I sold Almiron. £850k was a steal.
https://i.imgur.com/RdZwR8z.png
Originally bought to provide backup but he was my starter nearer the end of the season.
https://i.imgur.com/HTSb5Zg.png
I had no right back at one point as they all left so I panicked a bit and picked up three for peanuts.
https://i.imgur.com/AMVLePo.png
Signed him on a pre-contract and West Ham agreed to sell him to us early for £190k.
https://i.imgur.com/X9IVOAD.png
The second of my RB panic buys.
https://i.imgur.com/h2jFXGS.png
The final and most polished one. Wasn't looking for another at this stage but LA Galaxy cut him in their first squad selection and I scooped him out.
https://i.imgur.com/bIg2Qr9.png
Had money to burn in the Summer so I spent a chunk on this guy who fits into my team really well.
League:
https://i.imgur.com/hW3BBOA.png
https://i.imgur.com/0YEuNnm.png
https://i.imgur.com/ZAiqzvc.png
Pretty standard, we had a weird run in the second half of the season where we looked really shit and struggled to put games away. We just couldn't take our chances and our opponents were always managing some shitty goals.
Domestic cups:
https://i.imgur.com/iHKFApF.png
https://i.imgur.com/NXxWFGj.png
Speaking of playing like shit and struggling to put games away, we were punished for that in the Lamar Hunt Cup. 17 shots on target compared to Chicago's 5. Annoyingly we lost because one of the subs I brought on missed. Our second team went further than us.
Champions League:
https://i.imgur.com/zZxvBZb.png
Thought we'd cruise to victory but the game just did not want us to beat Guadalajara who went on to win the trophy. It felt like we could have played them for weeks and not scored, the finishing on show from us was horrific. It also didn't help that I had sold most of my players at that stage and not replaced them so we were really lacking numbers for the competition. I was hoping that we could register more after the first round but that was not the case.
Squad:
https://i.imgur.com/xLYarR5.png
Pretty happy with the team but it's annoying how restrictive the league is, we have so much money that I want to piss away but I can't.
Ireland:
https://i.imgur.com/Y5mIrcD.png
https://i.imgur.com/etkTNmq.png
Absolutely pissed it although Parrott went off the boil for 2 matches after I posted his ludicrous stats. We were only one of two teams to win all games in their group which was nice. Second was England who scored 70 fucking goals and only conceded 1 in 10 matches.

Their group was piss easy (Russia, Slovenia, North Macedonia, Faroe Islands and Liechtenstein) and Roberto Martinez (lol) has got them firing.
This chap went batshit in qualifying:
https://i.imgur.com/GCQ6Wqm.png
14 goals in 10 games but he only managed 2 in his previous 23 so it came from nowhere. Greenwood had 10, Rashford and 'Dele' had 9.
51 of their 69 goals came against the Faroes and Liechtenstein.
In other news Beijing Guoan made a £57m offer for my LB:
https://i.imgur.com/kB1bMQ8.png
Really considered it as the offer is MASSIVE (also included 30% of profit) but ultimately rejected as there are only two other LB's interested in the team that I like more but they'd cost around £80m and ask for more in wages.

When I was at Alianza Lima I applied for a few and they kicked up a fuss. I told them they wouldn't be able to replace me with someone better and they shut up.

Early days in my 5th season with Slough, and I just received the news item that Lucas Biglia has been sacked from Stevenage after a poor start to the National League season. :cab:
League 2 has some crackers - Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is back and in charge at Swindon, Plymouth have gone progressive and have Emma Hayes as manager, whilst a certain Loic Remy is up in Blackpool in his first managerial job.

My favourite opposing boss at the moment is good old Zoltan Gera, who started off on my backroom staff, was hired as manager by Vidi, sacked within three months, and has since cycled through Ujpest, Honved and Kisvarda (sacked within a year each time), and now at Mezokovesd, whom he duly took down and is now at the foot of the division below and back to Precarious Island for the fifth time.
All the while he consistently refuses my offers to come back between sackings (he's a Ferencvaros 'Icon' which are presumably handy to have around) because there isn't a prestigious enough job available for him. Mate, know when you're beaten.

My Wales are in a Nations League group with Holland and Scotland. Started by scorching the latter 5-0, before returning to Ferencvaros and losing 2-0 at home to bottom placed Györ to end our 41 match unbeaten run. FM really is a marvellous game.
I've gone back to having wingers this season, after a six year break, and it really has been tremendous, albeit they seem to spend a lot of time flicking on long balls, as if we've somehow morphed into Egil Olsen's Norway side from the 1990s. I spunked £17 million on Jack Clarke and swept up the best wingers from the other Hungarian teams to do the rest. The tactic works great with Wales, though, as we have a magical front four - Harry Wilson on the left, and a brilliant Man City regen called Nathan Lawless on the right, who just donned Scotland senseless. There's also an amazing AMC regen with 18+ for almost every physical stat. What this save has done very well is produce top regens with proper Welsh names, like Alan Powell, Gethin Jones and Sion Rees.

A bright start and some nice transfer listed summer acquisitions gave me hope for my second stab at the premier league but now the January window is open it seems like I have to gamble to turn it around. A frustrating amount of late winning goals conceded, the market for defenders is unfortunately either not interested, too expensive or not good enough. Think I might just have to scoop up as many decent prospects as I can and have them ready for next time round.

Sometimes I run into league games like this against the absolute shite (newly promoted wank, shitty little ground miles from anywhere on the Ukrainian border, not a single player who would get into my wider 30 man squad, one win all season) and it's so eminently clear early on that they are going to beat us with a swaggering comfortable ease, no matter what we do in the game, that my only recourse is to stick some music like this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sC2yEFpacIE) on in the background and pretend I have been taken hostage by local organised crime and my body is about to be fished up from the bottom of the Danube, like a Hungarian-themed version of this scene (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otwucZMciUM) from The Wire.

In defence of the terrible yoyoing my Oldham save is experiencing I will point out I foolishly only loaded England when I set the save up so it probably doesn't help that I am wading in a very shallow pool of players. I may even road the same save when I max this one out at 30 seasons and see what the difference is running three nations (FM Touch max) is.
On the PC version (which I do have but it's not convenient for racking a proper save on right now) I would routinely spend one session just sifting players to scout but I run out of players to sift quite quickly, I curse my scouts for being crap but there may well just not be that much to scout. For instance when I look through Spain, Bilbao have 4 signable players and Villareal have none. Signed a couple of defenders this january and am now on a 'not winning run' as opposed to a 'losses in a row run' :D

Yeah it's relative to the squad. If you sign a 4 star keeper to replace your three star keeper his star may drop slightly when he arrives but so will your existing keeper relative to the new keeper. Ferencvaros - season 9
We had Young Boys in the CL qualifier, which was frankly a walk in the park and it took us through to yet another group stage appearance in the 3rd pot of seeds. This time we got slightly more luck as out came Milan, RB Leipzig and PSV - good sides, but not the absolute elite. We duly started with a grubby 2-1 win away at the Philips or whatever PSV's ground is called (6 season ex-Preston stalwart, Josh Harrop, getting the winner) before returning to Budapest and being absolutely monstered 5-1 by Leipzig, who are a consistently decent outfit really. Milan had managed to lose their first two and we burgled a 2-0 home win before losing 2-0 there to leave the group delicately poised. However, all we really needed was a home win over PSV and poacher-in-chief Mazzonetto, roaring back into form in 26/27 after a barren 25/26, nudged one in from about 0.3 yards at the third attempt as only he can. That takes us through to the Champions League knockout stages for the third time.
Wales - Nations League
We found ourselves in the top tier joining the punchy Scots, and newly minted world champions Holland. A 5-0 cunting of Scotland was followed up by a plucky 4-2 loss in tulip land in which we had twice led. Scotland were a tougher cookie at Hampden but Harry Wilson led us to a 2-1 win, sending them into Nations League Division B tae think again. In the final game we had to beat Holland by two to qualify for the, well, the medium-sized dance. This did not happen but we did notch a famous 2-1 home win over the world champions to match them on points and beat them on goal difference, but find ourselves edged out on head to head record.
There I was, after that, waiting for the Euro qualifiers to be drawn, and I looked down the list and did not see our name. This was confusing until I realised that, yes, we - along with Scotland - have been selected to host Euro 2028, the big wigs at UEFA evidently deciding that Wrexham, Swansea and Kilmarnock will make fitting venues for the 24 best sides in European football to strut their stuff. This presents us with a great opportunity to have a daring run at the big prize with what must be the best Welsh team, certainly going forward, ever assembled. Here are our heroes:
https://i.imgur.com/WiiRwm7.jpg
Far from the rentboy-looking imp of real life, Ben Woodburn is a folk hero and stud in this game, playing all across the front line and the all time record goalscorer for Wales.
https://i.imgur.com/KhXk2Na.jpg
Gethin Jones is his rival for the lone striker berth and also boasts a magnificent international record.
https://i.imgur.com/DCetaeo.jpg
RB Leipzig could not ignore the talents of Alan Powell and they paid an indifferent Man Utd only £15 million for his services - looks a snip to me. He runs the side.
https://i.imgur.com/gccyNSu.jpg
What Bale once was to the Welsh left, Nathan Lawless now is to its right, a sublime talent who has been at City but is now on loan at Villa along with several of his Welsh team mates.
https://i.imgur.com/TnPFLht.jpg
At 29 the elder statesman of the Famous Five, Harry Wilson is vastly experienced and still often causes havoc down that left wing.
With that lot in the saddle (usually 4 of the 5 on pitch at any one time, and who cares at the back), we are destined to rule the world and become the new by-word for footballing dominance.

Signing in 6 months but I'm hoping to gather £500k so I can bring him over ASAP.
Edit: Took a week and I got him for £475k.

Just surveying the thread, how many are playing on a laptop? Be interested to see the specs, and is anyone using an SSD?
I play on a desktop with an SSD, I have loaded up the save a few times (good old cloud saving) on an older laptop, I added extra ram and an SSD and it’s perfectly fine.

I am playing on a laptop with a 1.3g processor and 8MB ram, it chugs along reasonably smoothly.

Thanks gents, trying to identify a budget laptop with enough scope to run the next few versions and a big database etc.
Mike: is it rapid with SSD?
Not really noticeable, though I've not tried it without. The processor and ram is far more important for FM really. Like an SSD is good for loading stuff in, but for processing results and stuff, it doesn't do much. You should however get an SSD, because they're brilliant in general.

Just finished season 2059/60. You may recall that I scraped to survival in the previous season in the Scottish Championship (or Division 1 on FM11) last season.
Well this season was massively different having been able to keep my star striker and also sign another striker who was 32 yrs old and probably too good for my team.
We absolutely stormed the league going unbeaten all season and winning the Challenge Scottish Cup.
The downside was on the financial side. As our stadium capacity was only 5,000, we were losing between circa 150k-200k a month. I tried to stem the flow with some friendlies and luckily we had an away game to Hearts in the Scottish Cup which brought in 700k. So we started the season with circa £3m, but ended it with £2m. Once we achieved promotion, the board decided to install under-soil heating and spend £1.9m! Hence i have no money in the pre-season and my start striker signed a pre-contract with Leicester in the closing stages of the season.

Results from the season. Look at that run of games not conceding a goal.

Season 2060-61
Just finished Ayr Utd's first ever season in the top flight. Pretty decent season considering we were tipped for rock bottom (12th). The season splitting in 2 towards the end is a bit odd, but i retained 6th despite having less points that 7th which was a relief. We made it to the semi finals of the Scottish Cup before going out on pens to Dundee. Bit annoying as i was hoping it might give me entry into Europe. Managed to win manager of the season, which was nice.

The squad in preseason (less any players being sold who are in the reserves and less any incoming players due in on 1st July once their contracts expire).
https://i.imgur.com/E8nSWgY.jpg
I'm hoping for more of this as we need money to start competing with Rangers, Hearts and Celtic who are dominating the league.

This seems a lot of money for not much gain! I only had £2m in the bank...

Aim for next season:
Improve the squad, get some more money and achieve top 6 finish again.

Loaded up the Oldham save I salvaged from Steam and it's worse than I feared, it was summer 2032 when I made the fatal error. Just got the cross sync save on and it's November 2022 :D
Second in League One though, probably easier to run with it from here than start entirely again.

Schalke came in with a bid for him and after some negotiating we settled on £15m + 50% next sale

I'm shite at negotiating, you've played a blinder there. He has excellent physicals but for me I would be expecting better crossing and dribbling for that money, even if he is 18.

I wasn't interested in selling so just put up £20m and they came back with £7.5m.
I was hoping for £10m at that point but they were happy to hand over £15m.

£22.5m, 50% next sale and a friendly from Dortmund \0/.
Edit: Or £31m and 40% profit from Porto.
Edit: Took Dortmund's offer.

Is that Pham Manh Hung from Hai Phong?
Mahow jizzing in his bibimbap about 50% future sales when he’ll be managing Newcastle Jets by the time that money comes in.

It isn't, it's a regen:

My board were SEETHING at me for spending £375k on him but he's one of our best performers.
The Hai Phong one stayed there until he retired and is now an unemployed manager who hasn't found work since retiring a year ago.
Mahow jizzing in his bibimbap about 50% future sales when he’ll be managing Newcastle Jets by the time that money comes in.
I like to ensure that any clubs I go to are set up financially. When I came in we had £7m in the bank, there's now £35.5m and two potentially huge sell on clauses to come in.

So in my Oldham reloaded save I manage to scrape promotion, had a good run intitially then form fell away so I signed every loan player I could get my hands on in January and managed to improve every position I made a signing in. I managed to sign one on to a permanent contract but the rest are doing the annoying loan thing where their contracts are due to expire within a week but they aren't approachable, and will no doubt sign new deals at the last minute.
Form picked up again in the second half of the season but there were a couple of wobbles and a few idiotic sendings off meant I dropped needless points and finished third. Battered Oxford 6-2 on aggregate in the play off semi's then squeaked by a Hull side that had been top for the first few months of the season 1-0 in the final.
I prefer to play with an AMC but in the lost save I had changed to using a DM because I didn't get a quality upgrade in. This time I am hoping to stick with my principles but will need more reinforcements. The club was taken over during the play offs meaning I go into the championship with £4.2m to spend and 100k wage budget. I am currently working back through my shortlist working out who to snap up on free transfers and who to remove. I already got 5 released PL youth players in to send out on loan immediately, though a 36 year old Mario Mandzukic snubbed my offer.
How highly do people put stock in stuff like 'doesn't enjoy big matches'?
Sir Andy Mahowry

I don't.
I just look at attributes and anything extra (that is positive) is an added bonus. Negative stuff like that I just ignore.

Oxford City - 2043/2044
Season Summary
https://i.imgur.com/SB2ZABL.png
We romped home to our 9th Premier League title and our 6th on the spin. I'm not too sure what happened to both Man United and Liverpool but both had tragic seasons.
https://i.imgur.com/RohZckx.png
Diguinho once again finished as the leagues top goal scorer with 22 although he scored 37 in all competition which was pleasing. He's probably scored around 160 goals in his seven seasons at the club which is some feat given the exploits of Yan Canti over the years.
Robert Awany who broke into the team last season finally cemented one of the centre back positions as his own and gained three caps along the way.
https://i.imgur.com/oGqJtia.png
Miltao tried to break the stranglehold up front held by fellow Brazilians Yan Canti and Diguinho
https://i.imgur.com/ZqH3B3u.png
Tough ask but he's still got plenty of time.
Finally, Hassan Saidi was impressive on the right of midfield but I need to get rid for his wage alone. I spend nearly £1M a week alone on him and my son.
https://i.imgur.com/W93ltqN.png
Speaking of my son,
Timber Rood has had another great campaign.
https://i.imgur.com/w1DdRnD.png
He's played 416 league games and scored 114 times, assisting 125 times. Unfortunately FM Touch only allows you to view the current season but I estimate he's played around 700+ times given he's got over 100 caps (for England :moop:) and has Europe/Domestic Cups.
Still has at least 6/7 years in him.
Domestic Cups
Charity Shield
Chelsea were our opponents in the seasons opener and a hattrick from Yan Canti followed Junior's early screamer as we won 4-2.
EFL Cup
A local derby as we entertained Oxford United in the 3rd round, winning by three as centre back Ognjen Rajic scored an unlikely treble without reply. Chelsea followed in round four and so we put out the first team, a double by Diguinho and a strike by Saidi put us through to the quarter finals. Leicester were our opponents and despite scoring early in the first half we were pegged back late in the second but secured the win on penalties. Fulham lay in wait in the semi's and took us to a 1-1 draw in the first leg. It took a 95th minute goal from Yan Canti to keep us in the competition as we drew 1-1 in the 2nd too. We once again won on penalties.
Man City would grace the final alongside us and a 2-1 win was all that was needed, Aliu Sanca and Diguinho giving us our fourth EFL Cup.
FA Cup
Grimsby Town were dismantled by six goals to nil in the 3rd round, Miltao scoring three, Diguinho grabbing a brace and my son scoring in the final minute from the penalty spot. Dad rules.
West Ham met Yan Canti in the 4th round, his strike and Sanca's minutes later secured a 2-0 win and a passage to the 5th round. Leeds were powerless to stop us progressing to the Quarter Finals as we won 3-0.
Brighton took us to extra time after a 2-2 draw in normal time, a little disappointing to throw away a two goal lead but after Rajic made it 3-3 in extra time, I almost anticipated pens but Yan Canti and the under used Ryan Roche scored late in the day.
Semi finals and Manchester City were out to avenge the EFL Cup defeat but had no such look as our Brazilian maestro Yan Canti scored the games only goal. Sunderland were our final opponents and there was no way we were losing that. Our 4-0 win merely confirming as much. It was our 7th FA Cup title, our fourth on the trot which was the first time any club had managed such a feat.
Champions League
We hammered our group with six wins from six against VfB Stuttgard, Atletico Madrid and FC Kobvenhavn. Inter Milan were our first knock out round opponents and surprisingly we lost the first leg 2-1 but the Italians were no match for us back at the John Woodley Stadium as we won the return 4-2 to set up a tie against Man City in the quarters. We fancied our chances merely because we'd had Man City's number for a while now but I didn't anticipate the 0-0 at the Etihad as it left us open for the 2nd leg. I needn't had worried as we went through 3-0 rather comfortably which is more than can be said for the semi finals and our German opponents, Bayern Munich who took us all the way, again at the John Woodley Stadium and again we only managed a 0-0. Two first half goals in the return fixture helped ease our fears that we might once again miss our on European glory however as we won it 3-2 and would face Arsenal, the same Arsenal who ended our European streak in the first place.
https://i.imgur.com/Pvuq17u.png
Boom!
Number 7 in the bag and back to being European Champions.
No transfers once again, the same will apply next season then I'll gut the remainder of the squad and work with a minimal one so my youngsters are always subs or on the fringes.
