The one gloved boxer gets me everytime. Plus the sumo completely not expecting kicks and punches to be thrown, and the whole “we’ve not really figured out the rules yet so… FIGHT!” vibe is crazy, even without comparing it to UFC nowadays.

I’ve been out the loop for a long time but I was chatting to an Aussie and a Canadian in the Bierkeller in Liverpool (lol) about how much I used to love UFC, and we chatted about some old events and our favourite fighters. They were surprised I hadn’t heard of Tom Aspinall and reckoned he’ll be the GOAT, even more so than Jones and GSP. Obviously ‘I’m in England so will talk bollocks to get Brits inside’ but how good is he?

It’s hard to tell because there’s not a great amount of competition but he has embarrassed everyone he has come up against. He’s not far off Jones’ overall package. Huge, fast, great striking and grew up in a Jiu Jitsu gym
