The wind was ridiculus here earlier. bins, road signs and bits of tree on the roads. Was barely able to walk into it when I took the little one out for a walk. Atleast one death so far and multiple injuries.

He has bees, but he obviously wants more bees, so he goes and removes unwanted bees free of charge so that he has more bees. Whether or not he has ever bought bees, chances are somebody whose work is literally acquiring and keeping bees would know how much bees cost if you want to buy bees.

Bees.

Are you likely to have to evacuate bruhnaldo?

Nah, we're a good 70 miles inland. Most of the most damaging stuff happens closer to shore. Our biggest concern will likely be tornadoes and things like that. That being said, the bottom right quadrant of the storm is the strongest and generally produces the most tornadoes. That bit will likely end up staying offshore and away from us.

I'll probably end up at the hospital my mom works at hanging out there. More likely to keep power throughout obviously.

Spikey M
07-09-2017, 01:52 PM
Really? I thought the strongest winds were around the eye and that was going bang up the middle of the state?

bruhnaldo
07-09-2017, 02:00 PM
Well the winds are stronger closer to the center, yes, but in Florida everything is built to a pretty high wind standard so generally the wind isn't the main problem.

Mind you, the pressure + wind can shatter windows ... the wind can pick up loose debris and send it flying like a missile ... all of that is very dangerous but since most people are indoors/boarded windows that type of stuff isn't usually what causes the loss of life here in Florida anyways.

As far as the eye goes:

https://my.sfwmd.gov/sfwmd/common/images/weather/plots/storm_11

Most of the models have it slamming into my old hometown down south (:()and then bouncing off along the coastline.

If that holds true, we'll surely get some hurricane force winds, rain, and things of that nature. The storm is much too big to not cause any damage to us here in the center of the state. But it'll mostly be vegetation ripped up, roofs coming apart, trees and things hitting cars/homes.. things of that nature.

Private Eye still does satire well. Americas comedy attempts have improved across the board in recent times, but that's pretty much solely down to ripping of our lot. Rule Britannia.

Anyway, Irma seems to have changed course and given Cuba a full fist up the arse rather than a passing pat. I haven't seen an updated track, so I'm not sure if this let's our Floridian contingent off the hook. Here's hoping a more southerly tack doesn't take it underneath Florida into the Gulf to have another go at Texas.

On the bright side, hurricanes seem to deal more in destruction that actual loss of life. Although you could lump earthquakes into that, depending on where they happen. On a sidenote, I tried looking into Jupiter's dark spot (which has been raging at least 350 years) but got bored by the word 'vertices' turning up in every sentence.

I have family in Naples (second cousins and the like). The good ol' matriarch of that branch died earlier this year, she was a proper yee-haw negro-hating gal who loved God and hated the African terrorist Obama (apparently on her deathbed she thanked God she lived to see 'him' become President). Anyway, this has left the family with a bunch of retards making the decisions and on this occasion they've all moved into a house in the middle of the evacuation zone and decided to stay there because God is on their side.
