Twitter probably was overstaffed but there's not a fucking chance he knows what he's doing.

Abolishing working from home and then shutting all the offices sounds like a multidimensional chess move.
Musk is a colossal twat, it's as simple as that.
The strangest thing about Musk is the cult like following he has.
Not really. He's rich and engages with the plebs by posting memes and pretending to be one of them. He's basically a hugely more punchable Ryan Reynolds, who has done the same with Wrexhams mong fans.
Of course Musk has an ardent following. Demented weirdos fucking love a rich, demented weirdo.
He never actually wanted to buy, did he?
I know he made the offer, but I'm sure I read that he wanted to see some back end data that you'd only get if you were about to own the gaff. He then tried to back up but Twitter then brought up some legal bollocks that meant he was committed to the takeover.
Given he could likely Bezos his money back up in no time, if he wrote off $45bn, he could absolutely be looking to tank it into the ground. I don't think he is though.
"Top 10 examples of code" is one of the funniest things I've heard related to software engineering.
You'll never believe number 8.
He's walking into a company though that the tech engineers can find work elsewhere easily (unlike rocket scientists). But if you're going to go for radical change, you may as well do it early while you can.
I think Musk is a bellend but if he'd done that at Man United everybody would be praising him for clearing the deadwood. He'd do better than Steve Bruce at least. Actually, there's a point, get Bruce in at Twitter to set up a solid defence against spambots.
If he does fuck the whole thing up, he'll claim that was the plan and then just find another 40 billion in an old pair of jeans while they sing his praises on Parler and Truth Social.
42% ain't most. You'd be fine.
Make your vote count.
How long will that hold up?Truth Social is America's "Big Tent" social media platform that encourages an open, free, and honest global conversation without discriminating on the basis of political ideology.
He's back.
Lovely, now we’ll have weeks of pink haired nose ring cunts threatening to close their accounts. That won’t get boring at all.
Great bit of content on twitter revolving around this:
I'm clearly too old as I have no idea what is going with those posts.
I liked the lengthy type description of someone born in the early 80s, probably holds pretty true if you are that age and still live somewhere where you might encounter the type of person who would write a lengthy exposition of 'types of people' on twitter. I definitely identified with some of it, but you need to get out of central London life before you hit your mid-30s unless you are ludicrously weathly or, I guess, gender divergent.
The people either side of that Deano compilation - the lolling and the seething - both fail to recognise that he is a sympathetic character ultimately happier than both of them, as the meme format makes clear.
I've always thought that the Owen Jones 'don't say chav' line of thinking is largely a mechanism aimed at continuing to justify/romanticise such people's deep-seated guilt at their journey from one space into another, and this stuff pretty much confirms it.
Mr. Free Speech, not so much.
Someone new is coming in as the face of the company then.
Lol. Bet he's seething.
I doubt it.
I bet his investors have told him he needs to step down and put up the poll knowing he'd lose so it looks better on him for DOING IT FOR THE PEOPLE.
Also, I think it has more daily users than ever before - the advertisers will be all over it right now.
He'll probably appoint Liz Truss

Poll to be re-done?
You only get free speech on Twitter now if you pay. lol.
Has anyone done the Mastodon thing yet? I don't really understand how the server things work on it but I believe it's basically a carbon copy of Twitter in design.
I'm on it. It's not really like twitter. No algorithms pushing things into your timeline, it's slower and a bit clunkier. It's not got the same stickyness as twitter so not sure whether it really will be the replacement.
I have no idea what "stickiness" means in that context.
It doesn't make you want to keep logging in and Doom scroll.
Partially but I don't think they have the same mechanisms boosting posts you might like into your timeline. The timeline in general works pretty differently.
I relented ages ago a changed my Twitter feed to Home rather than Recent. It’s probably better once you get used to it.
