I've always found Lagunitas to be bang average. Maybe because it's the sort of thing you typically find in beer tents as the fancy option.
I think Sierra Nevada was the beer that opened my eyes to the world of non-dreadful non-lager beers, back in early 2005.
Just seen an email from Brewdog charging £10.95 for one 330ml bottle. I wouldn’t pay that for Serena Williams ice cold piss, nevermind a bottle of beer.
I'm a twit
Lagunitas is ok as a first beer but if you have it after a proper hoppy ipa then it tastes like lager piss.
That was Sierra Nevada for me. I was blown away that beer could taste like that.
EDIT: Looks like @niko_cee and I share an epiphany beer.
EDIT2: Josh’s criticism is probably fair, although honestly I’ve come back around to appreciating a reliable IPA after drinking loads of poorly-executed hop juice.

I think Josh is being a bit harsh. Lagunitas wouldn't be a go-to for me a lot of the time but it's nice.
I don't think I had a beer epiphany really other than maybe my first beer festival in Paisley but there isn't one beer that started my magical journey from crap lager as a student to drinking stouts that taste of waffles and bacon.
Didn't Laguinitas get made or bought by some big beer corp?
For me it's more the fact that there's so much decent beer out there I'd rather support the smaller guys. It's decent though
I’d be the same too. I try to buy something from here all the time these days and there’s plenty of choice to be able to do that anyway. We’ve probably way too many “craft” breweries for such a small country. There’s over a hundred vying for a 2.5% market share between them all.
+1 for Sierra Nevada being the perfect gateway beer.
I'm a twit
Speaking of gateway beers, with everyone drinking at home there’s been some increase in breweries putting out lagers to try grab a few of the Heineken crew. You’ll change one of them much quicker than you’ll change a Guinness drinker.
I havent dabbled myself just saw the debate unfold in a group I'm in. Still got a kit I need to start. Have been caning spirits recently though as they are diet friendly.
Stone Barrel Bear Hug has to be the worst liquid i have ever tasted in my life.
Jesus fucking Christ on a donkey.
Small Pony Barrel Works’ Half Remembered Dream might be the best beer I’ve had since the day I nearly broke apart Josh’s marriage.

I was intrigued (and also a little put off) at the seeming pretentiousness of the tasting notes being in poem form, but this is an absolutely smashing sour.
EDIT: @Josh come to think of it, it’s reminiscent of something we had at Grimm.

Managed to pick up some White Hag Heather Sour which is normally like gold dust they make it in such small quantities.
€8 for 375ml though

Best beer name ever. Paul does all the Yellowbelly can designs.
Beer52 accidentally sent me a second box this month. Called them and they said just keep it

Anyone have one of those new type 5l mini kegs yet? Can they be closed and still retain carbonation or am I downing 9 pints on Friday?
I doubt they can be resealed.

There’s a thing on the top that you twist which I presume gasses it or something. Wonder would half of it even be ok the next day.
These ones.
Aren't those things usually good for a day or two (although also, don't you have to tap them a day in advance)? I'm sure I had a ghost ship one which I largely borked because I had no idea what I was doing. Ended up having to do it in one.
There was a QR code on the top but the video was shite and said fuck all.
Yeah my dad gets two every Christmas. I really don’t think the beer would be nice past Boxing Day.

Halfway through my second mini keg. I can hardly see. This was hard typed adbt the phone did most of it.
Both in the same session?
Or have you just got pissed off 4 pints of 4% beer?
Get a late night thread open for Giggles immediately and bring on tse dnurk posterjngz
I admire the fact that you cracked open the second one 8 pints in.
Good effort that
Hopping a Red IPA kit tomorrow, been in the vat 7 days. Also ordered a big selection from my mate's bar back home hopefully arriving soon.
Is that not a bit early?
At the Australian National on the Goldies and there is a line up up the road full of idiot AFL fans trying to get in on their game day at the GABBA on the same day as the UFC. Lolol
Fuck off we're full you Victorian cunts.
Edit: Im trialing Vic Wogs as a slur...

Who are the top ones from?
Marylou is a great beer. Verdant don't really make a bad one.
Beer52 is coming from The Netherlands this month, a few days before I move there. Reconnaissance
