So are you saying Mourinho has lost it Smiffy?
So are you saying Mourinho has lost it Smiffy?
Current top three are better than City but another window or two for Guardiola should see them right.
Bias as ever but we would have been out of sight if not for injuries (re: top 4). We're just not good enough to cope without a few first teamers. (Mane and Coutinho mostly). I'd rather we signed 2/3 big ready made players in the summer but I reckon we're going the youth route again. We need a few experienced heads who have been there and done it.
You laugh but it's true. Losing Coutinho was a blow, then Mane going ACON, add injuries to Henderson and being unable to use Matip for a stint too due to a bullshit Cameroon decision, it's a fair assumption.
Less we forget today was the first defeat with Lovren and Matip. Our problems this season have been 100% self inflicted so it's not as though we've been outclassed. Shit individual errors when defending and not enough strength in depth.
Lovely stuff. His ball control is so good.
'Pep' needs 'another window or two', despite spending more than Jose 'Blank Cheque Book' Mourinho, who will probably end the season with two trophies (and possibly top four at their expense). KUTGW.
The last thing this forum needs is members leaving, Waff. Even those as shit as myself.
Smiffy is laughable in his bias.
City have more than one good player, KDB, Aguero, Sterling, Sane, Jesus, the latter trio having plenty of potential.
Mourinho is a cheque book manager and was prior to his arrival at United. City at least look good going forward. Mourinho spent big and continues to shit it.
You need to get back on the weed.
Won a few games have we?
EDIT: I'm off outt before the inevitable "seethe" "meltdown" comments etc. Standard form.
It's complete bollocks. City have consistently finished higher than united for the past few years, have invested heavily again and yet Mourinho Is the busted flush.
20 odd games unbeaten, a league cup win, still in contention for third place and a potential European* cup win. Not bad for a cheque book manager who has 4 good players.
*As in a cup in Europe.
Buy a Q Smiff and let your blood pressure simmer down. You'll get Ward Prowse in the summer and I look forward to hearing in October how he's the best midfielder in the country.
It's genuinely amazing how the boom bust cycle never ceases to be true.
Just before I leave. 20 odd games unbeaten, half of them draws. League Cup win. The biggest competition of all when United win it, Milky Cup when they don't. Potential European Cup win despite struggling to get to the semi's of a second rate competition (and this delusional belief that your name is on the cup already). Finally, contention for third place yet it took nearly 30 games to get higher than 6th.
Have you even been in the top four this season? Even briefly?
lol
Boy in shorts came in game as fuck on that kid and still couldn't knock him down.
Isco's winning this game for Real Madrid - no idea why he didn't start.
That is a pretty brilliant caveat.
You're not leaving so stop pretending.
I've not claimed we've not drawn games and moaned on here about the lack of clinical finishing. The rest again is more nonsense. I'd rather we win a cup than not, most teams don't finish a season with any silverware. I've not said we have our name on any trophy.
And if it takes 30 games then so what? It's a 38 game season.
I can't follow the point Smiff's trying to make. At first all the players bar four were shit and now Mourinho is doing worse than Pep even though they're 1 point behind and won the league cup and could still end up winning the Uefa cup.
Surely it's shaping up to be a decent season for United as it stands. If they end up finishing outside of top 4 and don't win the Uefa cup then I'd agree with you, but at the moment it's still looking good for United (that could change of course before the season ends).
That's gorgeous from Iniesta.
Someone's winning this 2-1.
Really enjoyed that. Messi is so sexual.
Great game. Really enjoyed that.
The winner was one of those goals where you know it's going in before it's even got within 5 yards of the scorer. Helps that it was Messi of course.
I haven't seen Keylor Navas many times but he seems quality.
A shame to see Thierry Henry is still dreadful. I wonder what he has to do to be dispensed with.
@Giggles.
What did I say now?
Messi now has - 2 months before his 30th birthday - 500 goals in 577 games for Barcelona.
Silly numbers.
Nope, I was definitely off out otherwise I wouldn't have said it. Honest to a fault.
I never once said you specifically said Man United had there name on the trophy, it's the general consensus among many though and has been since the group stages, not because you're good but because you're Man United. I wouldn't feel comfortable betting a tenner on that outcome and I'm as reckless as they come.
As is, you'll end the season in 6th, at least 5+ points away from fourth because you're not as good as the top four which incidentally will be those that already occupy the positions. Let's not continue however since you've bitten enough.
We'll probably finish 4th and win Europa now that you mentioned that.
Tottenham Hotspurs?
Any of them. Does the Europa get the country protection thing or is it a free for all like Liverpool the season after we won it?
More than likely we'll get shafted into the Champions Playoff round or some bullshit ruling if we finish fourth and win the whole thing (Europa).
You would of thought that if you win Europa you'll get a free pass into the Group Stage. I think there's a "country protection" thing put in place as well.
Are you saying that without having looked at the table? Liverpool have played two games more than all the teams around them and are only two points clear of Man City and three clear of Man United. And for Man United to finish sixth either Arsenal have to go on a run or Everton have to somehow pull back six points with two fewer games to play.
The most likely scenario from here is that Liverpool bottle it, as always, and finish fifth ahead of Arsenal and both Manchester clubs make the top four.
