Could be. Also hopeless at darts. You can fluke a pool win over a much better player but not with darts and definitely not with golf.

I've finally came to the conclusion I won't be leaving Ireland again so I'll never be playing golf again. I've 3 sets of golf sticks in the attic that need to go in Donedeal

I've still never forgiven my parents for giving my (ok their) pool table away when I left home.
    Yeah an actual pool cue.

After years of intermittently playing pool I've reached a standard that I'll beat pretty much any of my mates 7 or 8 times out of 10, and lose against anyone who is actually good. There's room for becoming "quite good".

I played snooker with my dad every weekend for about 3 months and we stopped because we just had to accept that we were fucking horrendous. It was never an enjoyable experience. If I can find the motivation and enjoyment from playing pool on a very regular basis and I get really good I'll consider giving snooker another go. But probably not.

If memory serves, the best break either of us managed, by some distance, was when I got 17 (red black red black red).

Riff raff doesn't get to play here. No such thing as a council.owned course like I used to play on in Loughgall and most around here are close to €10k a year upwards.

    Jesus.

Are there not even any cheap pay-per-round ones like Kilrea?

EDIT: You're in around Dublin, aren't you? This place looks reasonable.

Never seen this first time round, but I did a bit more looking and found a place fairly close. A non membership course, must be a fairly new development.

Still need to put a couple of sets up for sale. I'm going to keep the middling set and the good putter. Could never get used to the expensive Yonex ones that I was given as they've really small head woods and stupid hybrids in it.

My father in law has light bulbs he can tell Alexa to turn on/off. Load of bollocks. Just get up and use the switch.

At what point does new technology just became pointless and gimmicky? Saying that, a disabled person or elderly might have use for the light bulb thing if they can't get up.

It's not "technology." It's the fact that it is easier to press a button than to shout at the TV. Also, I like giving you trouble.

    can't argue with that.

I still use my remote, nothing can beat that convenience, but I like being able to tell my GH to talk to the remote if I've left it in another room or at the far side of the room.

We installed 3 light switches that do the same thing. You can tell google Home/Alexa to turn the light on and off. It’s been a god send cause the missus is notorious for leaving lights on.

I bought this a week or so back:
    https://www.bestbuy.com/site/microso...?skuId=6145602
Was able to stack it with another 25% off at a different store. Loving it so far.

I can see it being convenient under certain circumstances. Rightly or wrongly, I do worry about privacy shit though.

Use something similar at work and it's a load of shit. I either have a very basic model or it's just buggy as shit. Try and open two excel files simultaneously? No sir. That's a office crash every day. Working on an important email? Yeah, Microsoft office will close all its programs by itseld and remove them from the quick start tab along the bottom.

Piece of shit. Give me back my heavy piece of shit HP laptop.

They won't do that, it's the same windows 10 as any windows 10 (unless it's that S shit) Definitely an underlying issue with another program on the machine or a corruption somewhere.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. The amount of crap and updates we get forced to do.

The pen can fuck off too. Modernisation can get fucked.

That said, I've fuck all programs on mine (similar specs) and it's has one incredibly annoying bug I can't get to the bottom of. Doesn't even make sense that it has it, so there could be alright version/machine differences.

Noice. I'm tempted with a Surface when my laptop kills over. Does it have HDMI connection to link up to my monitor at home?

Nah, only has 1 USB. You have to buy this special adapter box for more USB / vga / hdmi connections.

I haven’t looked into it too much but I believe you can use USB C to HDMi/VGA for single monitor but then like Foe said I think you need the dock to run two external monitors.

I haven’t fired up any games yet but it has a 6GB 1060 in it.

MVMT have branched out into sunglasses, and these float my boat. Went for the 'Everscroll' ones which include blue light filtering for use with computers. Not sure if I'll follow through on using them whilst working, but they're almost-clear lensed so it would just look like I'd taken up the use of reading glasses, I suppose.

Got given a Surface Pro by work and whilst it's a lot nicer than the old bulky laptops of yesteryear, this is the major drawback for me.

Also, the gits won't pay for the stylus - is it worth shelling out for?

    Fucking hell.

Also blue light filtering is bollocks. I had a pair of glasses with them and they put a yellow tint on everything, I thought everyone had jaundice.

I didnt get one, I would have no real use for it. One there is a sale I might think about it but until then 2k on a laptop is enough

You put it towards the outer range (but where you can still get a decent connection). The booster then covers the rest of the house, unless you live in a country manor. For us it covers the whole house so we just connect to the booster no matter where we are.

I’m using it so I can use WiFi in the bathroom and garden. It does the job and I’be had no issues so far.

I can only assume you’re seeing this as lost potential sales in your new role. Soz lad.

You only realise how awful a WiFi solution is when you use a properly set up one.

    Hint: you haven't.
