I'll bash the campaign out and leave it at that. Nioh 2's coming so that'll offset From taking a break from Souls stuff. And The Surge 2. Resident Evil 2 has me interested, if only because it looks wildly different from the original. If Death Stranding becomes a walking simulator, the outrage will be worth seeing.

Really struggling to find something I want to play atm. Looking for something more Sim/Tycoony or decision-based rather than mechanics-based.

Anyone played Rimworld, Factorio or Divinity OS2?

Original Sin 2 is fucking superb. If you get that just make sure modify one of the present characters rather than creating your own total original like I did.

You get more written dialogue because the character comes with a per-determined backstory/personality.

What Phonics said. Each one has their own particular story on top of the main narrative. And you can still change your class and everything, it's their story and basic appearance you're choosing.

The last couple of Mario Party games have been shite though. Hopefully if the new one is on the Switch, they sort it out.

Hey, I finally found a race sim that'll run nicely on my PC. It's Race Room. So ... erm.... I guess that means I'm digging into finding out how much of that is worth my money.

Is that the one made by the former GTR crew? GTR was pretty darn good.

Yep. I had no idea Simbin were still going. I thought the majority of them went on to become Slightly Mad. GTR3 is apparently still in development.

I thought I read somewhere than since Assetto Corsa has the license for the Blancpain Series then that would be off. I don't know, I'm fully into iRacing right now.

That makes sense. I assumed they slowed it down because Race Room's monetary aspects are terrifying. You have to really, really know what you want to not overspend on that. I'm still waiting for a fancy Game of the Year version of Project Cars 2 to hit consoles.

iRacing is the same. So much stuff to buy, you really need to be careful. Luckily I only care for a couple of the cars, both of which you get since the beginning (the MX-5 and the Skippy.)

Yeah, I might just use it for hotlaps so I'm maybe looking for a handful of cars and then going after track packs. Race Room has a try before you buy option which gives you five minutes with a car. I could use that liberally.

Well, I've decided to list out all the real world race tracks I have across the games I still own. Partly because there's some video stuff I want to do with them but also to see just what Race Room might cover that I don't already have. I've counted 96. A flimsy number given how Gran Turismo has some street tracks that are very, very real. I've kept in the ones like Seattle and Route 246 which are spot on. ToCA Race Driver 3's track list is huge so I really need to get PS2 emulation on lockdown.

It's been surprisingly fun to see what turns up only once. I can't remember ever riding round Estoril but I have it in GTR. At a quick glance, Suzuka appears the most in 11 games. I'm relieved I still have F1 games that cover some of the vanished tracks, too. Korea, Istanbul, Hockenheimring, Argentina's death trap and India's smoghole.

Its been so many years since I played a PC shooter, shit even the days when we played payday I used a controller hooked up. I think genuinely the last PC shooter I played was probably COD 4 MW. After that i moved to PS4 as my laptop was crippled.

Yeah. I've never played any other XCOM games though so I wasn't expecting something else from it. The gameplay is decent and I really like the story and atmosphere.

I tried it a while ago when it was on sale somewhere too. Couldn't get into it.

The Bureau isn't anything like other XCOM games though. It's just a shooter.

A shooter with decent controls and an interesting and different story/setting to most of the shit out there.

I remember that being ok, it suffered massively from being called XCOM without being a new XCOM game.

To hit chances are par for the course, quite why they never put in a minimum range is beyond me though. I'm sure it was in the original, running up to aliens and giving them the old lethal injection was a valid strategy.

Realised I'm enjoying The Bureau so much because it reminds me of Freedom Fighters which is one of my favourite games ever. It's like Freedom Fighters crossed with Halo.

Been playing Shadow or Mordor again since I have more time at the moment. I've no idea what makes it so playable, it's ostensibly a pretty bland game. There's just something so satisfying about lopping the head off Dildor the Bum Raper after he killed you three times yesterday and you rage quit.
