Fucking idiots setting their Nikes that they've already bought on fire because Kapernick has been made the face of their campaign is good.

This guy never ruining his socks is the best example so far.

The only thing worse than corporations being political is people praising them for it.

Corporations are the essence of political, except it's usually never public-facing. This at least is.

What genius in this administration thought giving Bob Woodward a press pass was going to go well for them?

There is nothing about Trump or this administration that is not simply rotten and inexcusable but this sort of thing is just infuriating if true. If not true they are just gonna milk this for days at a time when his approval has dropped below 40 and the generic ballot has creeped back up to 10. What is wrong with the NYT?

    https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/05/o...esistance.html

If he is pressing policies you think are this bad, quit in protest and say why like during Nixon, or Jackson, or Garfield. If the policies are so horrible that the public will revolt, then let him do one or two and the backlash will be bad enough that congressional Republicans will be forced to act to save their own jobs. If not, then it really isn’t all that bad and you are wrong. This is just a shitty low rent coup.

Oh, it is largely true for any bureaucratic organization public or private but it is all so stupid. People massage their bosses when they are dumb but stop pretending you are all holding the line against chaos. You only solve political problems with politics.

A 'senior staffer,' in the terms the NYT uses, wouldn't be a civil servant. They're all cycled out from admin to admin. This is someone who works for him.

They're not necessarily party hacks or committed Trump supporters though. Weren't they having trouble filling positions at one point? If anything they are probably just 'moderate' conservatives known to be vaguely competent and not overtly anti-Donald, so they might as well be civil servants.

This reads like a member of the administration who is almost certainly appointed. It is hard to imagine some long time DOD, EPA, or Justice bureaucrat writing that section about the administration’s wins on trade.

They were having problems filling the admin with anyone but the lowest level of party hacks.

I’m sure Lewis is right and it is some second tier appointment. It isn’t someone with political ambition but we are different from the UK in that once you get appointed your civil service career is over with the admin.

Dickinson said: “It happened right out of the blue. I couldn’t believe how fast it happened. I just remember him pushing his thing into my mouth.
"I went into a state of total shock. I managed to push him back and I was saying, ‘No, stop it.’ I ran out on to the balcony and he came charging after me.”
Dickinson said intercourse did not take place.
“I managed to get away from him,” she went on. “I’ll never forget the fixated look on his face. I was terrified. He was obsessed with having sex with me.”

    Lying fucking bitch.

When she was told that forced oral sex would be classed as rape, Dickinson said: “Yes then. It was rape.”

Yousaf said to Dickinson: “I have to suggest to you that you are a sexual predator. You plied this boy with drink and had your way with him. Then you cried rape, which is a despicable accusation. You’ve told us nothing but lies.”

“No, I’ve told the truth,” replied Dickinson.

Depends. Not guilty doesn’t necessarily mean innocent, it can just mean they weren’t convinced enough of her guilt.

The court heard the boy, who has ADHD and low intelligence, had previous convictions for possessing weapons and kicking and punching a teacher at his school.

At the time of the killing, he had been on bail and was in breach of a curfew.

Mitigating, Philippa McAtasney, QC, said the teenager was "not beyond hope and help" and had used his "best handwriting" to express his remorse in a letter to the judge.

Yes I can definitely see how someone in their own home getting shot by a drunk cop is the victims fault for not being clear enough in what I'm sure was a very rational conversation between two sides.

It’s third world shit, it really is.

I saw something else the other day where a woman with diabetes had to wait 3 days to afford her Insulin and light heartedly joked about her surprise at still being alive. What a country.

There’s a mad Arsonist running about Dundee. Three major fires in three days now. High school yesterday, Indoor Market/Gym today and an abandoned hospital the other day. Dens Park tomorrow hopefully.

There was a massive Dundee feature on channel 4 news because of that ridiculous museum that's opened on the front. Like a proper Blair era throwback in terms of ludicrously located white elephants.

Big fan of the grandad in that story. The heart attack obviously isn't great, but he's travelled because his son needed a life saving operation and he's still managed to fit in some snorkeling.
