Different bacons serve different purposes. You couldn't trust the yanks with back bacon anyway. They'd give it some pervert name, like 'breakfast pork' or something, and sell it smothered in cheese.

I fully respect black pudding eaters, but I've never yet managed to become one.

As discussed on the previous page, black pudding is wonderful.

You're probably far enough north to get yourself a pack of 'Clyde Tunnel lorne', DS. Do so.

The discussion has moved on slightly, but how items in a full English are positioned on your plate often leads to a heated discussion. It's very rare I make mine, usually just go somewhere and get what I'm given, so I'm intrigued. Using your MS Paint skills show us what items go where on the plate if you're making it.

As you can see we got our toast on the left, some eggs, that stuff you guys call bacon on top, some beans, that ham looking shit on the bottom, two random ass tomatoes, and a side of English woe.

Always a 'cuppa', too, let's not forget.

i love soda bread with a fry up. potato cakes are great as well. when i lived in edinburgh there was a place that delivered breakfast on justeat, it was both the best and worst thing i've ever eaten. lorne sausage was like eating a big delicious scab or something.

Potato bread and soda bread are both fried for breakfast.

Normal bread fried is a bit shit though. I prefer toast to it, the rest of the food is greasy enough.

Sausage and egg soda with brown sauce. Fuck yes.

I'm going to Templepatrick later and that's on the list if I can find one without going too far off the M1/A1/M2.

EDIT: I forgot the pancake too

There's a place I stop at in Tyrone if I'm heading north west that does the potato bread, wheaten, soda, and pankcake with the full fry. Godly stuff.

Yep, normal white. It's a heart attack fest, but you're not in the fried breakfast game for health reasons.

We eat it in Sweden (an equivalent) with Lingonberries and Bacon

Our bacon isn't what the British is unfortunately, but it's still Bacon so better than most other things.

Stuck in a full english though, it's even better.

I’ve done them in sandwich bags, it works alright. It’s easier to just get a poaching pan though.

Fill a saucepan with approximately 15-20 cm of water then add the salt. Place a plate upside down in the bottom of the pan then place the pan over a medium heat and bring the water up to 80ºC.

One at a time, crack each egg into a ramekin dish and pour it into a slotted spoon with small holes. Allow to drain any residual white for approximately 1–2 minutes.

Lower the slotted spoon into the warm water and slide the spoon out. Allow to poach for 4 minutes.

Remove with the slotted spoon and place on paper towel to drain the excess water. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper
I've found this method the best (from Heston lad) even if it's a bit of a faff. The fresher the eggs the better for poaching obviously.

A little poacher is so easy to use, I also have some little silicon bowls that floated in the water, they're not bad.
