There's been a one man protest on the main road near me for a few days now. He has two signs, one which says 'Black Lives Matter' and another which says 'Sometimes'. He seems to just spend all day sliding the latter in and out from behind the former.

Distracting from the real issues. I understand the divide of sorts with regards to Churchill but I'm not going to pretend I'm any sort of history buff other than knowing that he did as much bad as he did good for the time and we shouldn't hide from our history but embrace it, accept it, paint a true reflection of it for the time period and whack it in a museum for those interested. The sudden change in how white people are going about the BLM is proof enough that things won't change but then we knew that before the protests. It won't change because racism isn't as black and white as people would think, it's far more complex and because large amounts of uneducated, ignorant or too afraid to challenge things then nothing will change either.
UK is racist, it's a simple fact that we should accept. There is no disputing it init.

I didn't even read the thread, I just waded in with my own opinion (as per) but yeah, you're right. I just see it as a deliberate act rather than a (un)fortunate set of events, I really do. Fully expecting a big kick off after 5pm because there is no way to police that when emotions are high.
