The likelihood of English winning all European competitions this year is strong. City should win the CL again. Liverpool, Brighton and West Ham only really have each other and Leverkusen as rivals to the Europa League and Villa should really be winning the Conference League.

My son is that difficult age (6) whereby he is suggestible and most of his football knowledge comes from his mates’ random utterances and his football cards. From my colleague's description of his 8 year old's football obsession, what struck me / appalled me was that his hero and favourite player is Cristiano Ronaldo. Why the fuck does someone who's been aware of football for five minutes idolise Cristiano Ronaldo, who probably peaked well before he was born? That would be like me idolising Gary Lineker, who was at Grampus Eight by the time I started watching the game.
