Real Salt Lake apparently. Not sure what their season is though so not sure on the contract.

He was immense the season he spent here with CC.

EDIT - He was seemingly brought in to be an assistant manager for their lower league affiliate Real Monarchs.

How does a physically fit 31 year old have a heart attack?

You'd imagine drug free as he gets tested.

An unknown defect. It happens more than you'd think.

I had him at Milan as bench fodder on one of my Football Manager games, so I'm going to leave the old game outside and post a picture online. #putoutyourdiscs

Yep. Milklos Feher, Marc-Vivien Foe, Antonio Puerta, Pavel Srnicek. And then there's David Ginola and Fabrice Muamba who luckily survived. I just remembered I bought the guy once on Pro Evo. He was pretty competent. Funny how that's my point of reference.

Presumably it happens because they're physically pushing themselves to the limit, so any defects will cause problems?

It's really sad, whatever the reason.

Any high profile examples from other sports?

Can imagine sports like american football, basketball, track sprinting, pentathlon, marathon running etc would all have similar issues.

The names Shindig mentioned all croaked during games/intensive exercise. Going in your hotel room is a bit unusual, and my first thought was all those cyclists who were dying in their sleep when EPO first became massive.

Easily a possibility too. Clot, anything like that.

Could have simply choked on something.

    Hawking was a fucking legend.

"Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don't just give up."

Schumacher fascinates me, in that presumably he's being kept alive until such time when science has moved on to a level where they can transfer whatever giblets of him are left into a new host.
